Are you trying to charge it plugged into the wall with its supplied power brick? It's best charged that way.
You can try to swap out the power brick and cable to either rule those out or rule them in as the issue.
You can also try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.

I have had my Apple TV for 3 days now and the movie I wanted to rent still hasn't loaded. What am I doing wrong? The movie is only 1hr 33min but says it'll take over 4hrs to load.
AppleTV rentals are fixed size, and don't degrade quality if the connection is slow.
Minimum suggested requirements for 'instant' streaming are:
SD 2.5Mbps
720p HD 6 Mbps
1080pHD 8 Mbps
Any slower for the content quality selected (Settings iTunes store) and AppleTV has to partially download the movie in order to play through without rebuffering, and that can take anything from minutes to hours depending on internet speed and actual 'file size'.
The problem you see is usually related to slow intermet (very slow LAN connection from your router is rarely an issue but could be if AppleTV is not getting good signal).
On a computer use speedtest.net to test your internet speed.
When I has a 1 Mbs it would take 8-10 hours to download an SD title.
With 4.5 Mbps it take 15-30 minutes to play 720p movies, longer for 1080p.
A big flaw with AppleTV for those with slow connections is the limited hardware and memory - if you get bored waiting for the movie to start and use AppleTV say for YouTube. streaming from your computer iTunes or merely browsing the store trailers this can be enough to delete the portion of a rental already downloaded forcing it to restart each time you use it for something else.
If you turn out to have slow internet an alternative is to rent in iTunes on your computer, then once fully downloaded you can play on AppleTV under Computer>your iTunes>Rentals (only appears when a rental is on the computer ready to play). Alternatively lower rental quality settings from 1080p>720p>SD in future if you need faster starts.
I have also seen issues recently on some of my units where it starts downloading well, but for some reason freezes and refuses to fetch the rest unless I play from the start - this is usually after I've played and paused a rental a few minutes in and I've confirmed it just stops fetching more data sporadically - it never used to do this.

My 14-inch iBook has been flashing solid colors (green, red, blue, three different kinds of white) before going black for about a minute, and then start flashing again. I tried restarting repeatedly, and sometimes the normal screen would appear for about 1 minute before flashing colors again.

iBook G4Most likely its a problem with your logic board, specifically, the video memory. Apple has admited to this problem for the G3 ibook after a class action lawsuit was filed. My ibook, a g4 933mhz, which was made shortly after the computers that were part of this lawsuit has the problem. I stupidly paid apple $300 to fix the problem, because they told me that as long as the damage was not caused by me, then it could be fixed for $300. After i paid them and they shipped the laptop to their repair center, they called bacl to say that my logic board was damaged because i had spilled something on my keyboard, and that it would cost $700 to fix. I told them to ship it back, and of course they charged me $300 for nothing. I then tested the keyboard and inspected the laptop for this alleged "water damage" and found nothing. Apple offered no recourse to dispute their findings, and said that there were no problems with my laptops logic board that they were responsible for, despite the online petition having been signed over 700 times. They said that i could pay them an additional $70-$80 to have the apple store take my laptop apart and verify the water damage, and that it didnt guarentee anything, it would just make my case for demanding that the laptop be repaired stronger. Also, even though they orginally said that i had spilled something on the keyboard to cause the damage, when i told them that the keyboard was functioning, they said that i must have placed the laptop in water.

Good luck with your laptop, obviously, unless yours is still under warrenty, i dont recommend sending it to apple for repairs. I should also note that they did originally think that my laptop was part of the problem batch when i brought it to the store, but after they checked the serial number and determined that it was not, then mysteriously the damage was caused by me, and they pocketed my $300. -
I have tried to update 6 apps but they are all frozen .
They either say loading or installing but are doing nothing. I would delete them and try to reinstall, but one is no zombies allowed and i don't want to lose the game I. Have built up, can any one help a novice???Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
Here's the process to roll back:

You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details. -
My babies have been within driving distance for 3 days now, what gives?
I drive by the Fort Worth UPS hub practically everyday and the warehouse in Dallas, TX isn't that far either.
I ordered a X61T and a X61s, my UPS tracking number: 1Z V62 92V D3 5315 878 4 shows that they are in Dallas Texas and have been since Sunday; why aren't they at my house?
Called UPS, they told me to call Lenovo and get a tracer started on the package. Called Lenovo, they told me to wait until tomorrow, then to call again if I don't have my package yet.
Poor little guys came all the way on an airplane from China, yet they can't make the 20 mile hike to my place.
I leave for CES on Monday then straight to Finland next Friday.
What am I to do?

edit: written on a T61 in bed as my mother uses her X40 to prepare Romanian recipes for the 4 full days left I have at her house. the X61T is for me, the X61s is for my girlfriend, who has a T40 now. there is a T23 sitting on a coffee table used for when friends want to fact check during our heated debates or just check up on random internet information. we're a very happy thinkpad house :-)

All you could do is try again, by tapping Stop Restoring, then erasing the phone and restoring the backup again. If you do, make sure it is connected to wifi and your charger, and that it is located near your wifi router to get a strong, consistent signal.

None of the flash games will work on FF, I have even uninstalled FF and reinstalled it, I have disabled QuickTime, I have uninstalled Adobe flash and reinstalled it and still NOTHING! Flash works fine on Seamonkey though
Check that plugin scanning is turned on (it should be by default). If it is turned off Firefox will not search the Windows registry for details of plugins that it can use.

If it was set to false, re-start Firefox to see if the Flash plugin is now available.
Also make sure that you have installed the version of Flash used by Firefox. You should have it because SeaMonkey is using it, but if the Flash plugin is in SeaMonkey's own plugins folder Firefox may not be able to see it.
Download the latest plugin from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/?installer=Flash_Player_10.2_for_Windows_-_Other_Browsers and run it to install the version of Flash used by Firefox, this will install it in the default location so that Firefox should be able to find it. -

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Since wednesday morning the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of my iPhone 4S have not been wirking any more. They appear as "unactive". I restored the system, updated it to 7.0.4., but nothing changed. Can anyone please help me?Last night I wiped the phone and did a complete restore. Lo and behold the wifi was working again after the restore finished. GREAT. 30 minutes later went to look at the phone and no wifi again, great!
So if my wifi chip coincidentally fried itself during the update, I supposed it coincidentally unfried itself during the restore, only to fry itself again later. Clever chips these. -
When my ipod touch is in recovery mode (when I try to re-store it) the itunes page sayes the website has been timed out and so it won't re-store. There is a limited time, whilst restoring the ipod, it lasts for approx 5 mins, then asks to start again all over again. Can anyone please help me?

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw. -
I have a black Apple TV that has recently stopped working. It loads the Apple Logo on screen then goes off and starts again. It's as if it is stuck in a loop. I've tried a re-boot and this has failed. I have tried a restore using a USB cable on 5 different computers, including a Mac Book Pro and it downloads the update file but when it tries to restore I get the error code 9 showing on screen. I just can't get it to do anything.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?! -
I upgraded to mountain lion a week ago and now on startup of my macbook pro, microsoft excel and word start up automatically and then crash? very strange can anyone please help? I have checked the login items under users and groups and there is nothing.
Are you using the Office for Mac 2011 version, as you need to do? The Office for Mac 2004 is Not at all compatible with Mountain Lion, and the 2008 version has been noted to have some problems running with ML.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
Mine is an old IPod, 30 GB, Mod: A1136. I can´t find reference on the IPod page to download its manual or do an update on it. Can anyone please help?

Has your phone been jailbroken? If so, you will likely never get it to work again.
You can try placing your phone in DFU mode (search google) and restoring.
