HT4589 FCPX 10.0.8 seems more unstable than 10.0.7; 3 blue screen crashes today just doing simple edits or "sharing" a project to .mov. Any ideas?
I tried to "share" a 3 minute project to the default Master File and I got a blue screen. I had exported the same project eariler in the day with no problem, but I also had 2 more bluescreens today while editing.
It could be anything but try trashing the preferences to start with.
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.

Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
1. Ensure that only FCP X is selected.
2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones . . . instantly.

Since loading Lion, I've experienced much more instability than Snow Leopard. In particular, Mail crashes with regularity, full-screen apps seem to run slower and show the beach ball more often for longer, etc. I love the features, but I'm disappointed with the performance. Any help coming from Apple? I've been sending them so many reports after crashes, that their file must be full!
Summoning max. courage, I did what you advised. Here is the result. What does this tell you? My Lion 7.2 (mid 2011 iMac) has several annoying glitches (which I have so far tolerated through gritted teeth) but none that have actually stopped me working.
BTW, I see several items involving CleanMyMac which I did not know I had. It is generally villified as a trouble-maker. Spotlight can't find an app. or a utility of that name. How can I get rid of what's there please? Just delete?

My MacBook Air has reverted to iphoto 7 and seems resistant to upgrade. I am on OS X 10.7.5, and in the process of upgrading to Maverick. Any ideas?

for sure iphoto did not "revert" to a previous version - if the version has changed it is due to something you did and you need to share that
What exactly is your problem? To upgrade to Mavericks backup yoru system and download and install OS X 10.9.x Mavericks - then purchase iphtoo '11 Version 9.5.x from the app store and install it - tehn download and run the library upgrader (it is downloaded to the utilities folder in your aplicatiosn folder) and then launch iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x to finish the upgrade

I can't seem to run my Playlist under Yahoo Music.. it runs fine with IE 9 but not Firefox 4 .... any idea why? I can run a single song just not my playlist.

I just upgraded to iTunes 12 and had all sorts of problems. After several restores I seem to be able to sync my iPad with iTunes BUT I can't delete anything off my iPad from iTunes. Any ideas on what to do?

I spent the summer with LR 1.0 on my notebook. I don't think I upgraded to 1.1 before I left for the summer. Within the last couple of weeks I've been using LR 1.2 pretty heavily on the platform I originally had it installed on and it's crashed a number of times on me. I don't remember that happening with 1.0. I don't lose much and the database has been OK so far, but it is disturbing.
I've moved a bunch of stuff off the boot drive and defragmented it, the drive where the catalog and images are has 322GB of free space and is not fragmented. And it still continues to crash when I "push" it. In the last couple of days I've been working with images I hadn't touched for a long time, so it was building previews at the same time as I was working on it. Can it not gracefully handle that? The same thing doesn't happen every time and I must admit I'm not entirely sure what does happen -- I'll pay more attention next time, but when the scramble on my monitor is over (is the video card related to the problem? It wasn't in the spring of this year) LR is gone.
I must say I'm a little concerned. I still only have 15,000 images in the database. About the same as I had in the spring because I haven't yet processed what I've loaded. Only by the ~2000 pictures I took this summer, and they were being loaded and tagged and developed on the notebook as we traveled.I will pay close attention next time. Windows XP, latest updates. I'm so surprised every time because it didn't happen early on. OK, almost never...
I do have a new more powerful computer sitting around waiting for me (actually, my husband's using it for scanning, but this one can do that) but I know putting all my programs on a computer takes at least a week and then I forgot this or that and it goes on for a long time... so I'm putting it off.
What I remember is video issues before LR is gone. Screen goes white I think, with bits of stuff on it. Other new things. I got a Spyder and calibrated my monitor, but does that install anything that runs constantly? Ah, I'm also running another new program all the time. I'll stop it and see how it goes. -
Drop Box seems more useful than iCloud Drive
Give an example of how one would open a PDF using iCloud drive on their iPhone. On dropbox you go to a folder structure and open the file. Dropbox has built in PDF viewer. I can not even find the file on my iPhone because there is no iCloud drive folder/app. I assume that you must add some other app to read the PDF.

At the moment I solved temporarly by saving pdfs on iBook. -
No audio when i playback a project. All other projects work fine. My settings all seem right. if I solo a track I can listen to it. Unsoloed the Meters aren't even showing anything.

If you have to delete apps in order to download the video chances are you still do not have enough free space on your iPhone for that video to run smoothly.

I am using Yosemite OS, just installed on macbook pro w retina display and 1TB memory with 16gigs of ram. E mail feels slower and it often freezes up as I'm writing, forcing me to do a reboot or hard shutdown.anyone have similar prob withe mail? Is there way to exit a spinning wheel warning? Earlier it said I had too many applications open; I've never seen that message before. I know how to close apps on i phone, but is it necessary on new mb pro?

It seems more often than not I have to reclick on a line I have typed to get it to colour properly. It also seems like this occurs mostly on longer lines of code... the colouring will be fine out to a certain point, then the text just stays black until one clicks on it.
Is anyone else seeing this? I presume so because I’m at a new job with a new computer, so this is the fourth computer I’ve had which has had this issue (that’s fourth out of four... all of them that I’ve tried on).
This latest PC is running Win Vista Business Ed, 64-bit (so that makes the list of OSes I’m seeing this on: WinXP pro 32-bit, Win Vista Home 64-bit, Win Vista Bus 64-bit, Win7 Starter 32-bit). Stand-alone install of CFB.
AdamI'm getting the same problem. In fact, I'm noticing that syntax highlighting is very, very slow after update 1. In larger files, I sometimes have to wait about a second or two after making a single small change while the editor refreshes itself. I've had to restart CFB after the editor gets too slow to work with. It seems like it gets worse the longer eclipse stays open, and the more editing you do.

High demand for resources after installing v.8.0.1. Seems more noticeable on news websites.
Running Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex SX280, high demand for resources that I think began after updating to v.8.0.1. Going to firefox safe mode w/add-ons disabled seemed to help initially, but not now. Seems more noticeable on news websites like fox.com. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'm going to back up to Firefox 7 next. I'm getting the drift that 8.0.1 and/or flash on 8.0.1 are unstable.

I am looking for a very simple home accounting application. iBank seems to not be very intuitive and it has more features than I need. I am looking for the ability to create a budget and keep a bank register with the ability to connect to my bank and do updates.
I have a small business, I chose Quickbooks because anything else cost much more. That triggered the hiring of a bookkeeper who knew how to use it. It was not the cheapest choice after all.

YV seems more and more disinclined to react to rem...
Over the last few days the YV box seems less and less likely to respond to the remote. I sometimes need to press a key 7 or 8 times before it will take any notice. Sometimes I try several very long presses and this sometimes seems to work. It's not the batteries and it's not the remote. It's not another remote stuck on or the TV flooding the room with IR. All other devices work fine. I can use the same buttons in TV mode and the TV reacts instantly to each and every single press, even if I 'bounce' off a wall or the ceiling.
It started a few days ago when it seemed to miss a few presses but now it seems to happen about 60% of the time. It almost seems that the 'detection' has gone to sleep and needs many many seconds get its ar** back in gear. I have had (only once or twice) seen it then execute several of the buttons that I pressed in sequence (ie queued up) but normally it just takes 10 or 15 seconds to respond to the last key pressed.
Not in standby, not in max eco mode, not in don't listen to the remote for 15 seconds mode. etc etc.
Any ideas?

Is it just me? I feel I'm waiting for Logic to "catch up" a lot more since upgrading to Logic 9 and Snow Leopard.
Well, many pro users have the sensible policy to not upgrade to any point zero version. Upgrading to Logic 9.0 AND OS X 6.0 is almost a double guarantee for trouble. Both Tiger and Leopard had issues that got resolved after a few updates. I'll wait for Snow Leopard .3 or .4 at least (and for my "soon to buy" Mac Intel, of course)
Sluggishness is a strong indicator for memory having to be 'paged out' (= taken out of RAM and temporarily stored on Disk for later retrieval via the reverse process 'paging in') This paging process is the bottleneck in the RAM management of the system, as the disk is much slower than the actual RAM.) My tip is to install MenuMeters, so you can see when these sort of things are going on. When I see my Mac is paging in and/or out, I wait until it is finished before I continue editing in Logic.

Cant find ip address for router
When I try to access the setup page for my router, 192.168.1.1 does not work and neither does 192.168.1.2 any way to find out what the address is. when I type in those address is comes up no such website ect.
