I tried to do the same, but couldn't find ios 6. I even tried the APPstore, to download the last IOS6 version.
The most problem is the running out of the battery.
I've checked each app who is "eating" the most power.
The battery stoped runaway, when I closed the weather service....
So for now, I will use regular internet service, and probbaly will do to more app.
Until, finaly, I will find my self with all the applications closed....:-)
That will be the sign, to replace my phone to anderoid....:-)
Till now, there is no any sign from Apple to have a glance to our complanes.

Have you tried a reset by pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons?
In the future, it might be best to leave other peoples devices alone. -

Hi last night I download new iOS and since that my phone does not turn on at all!! Even it's been all night in charger. Only iTunes icon with charger appers to my screen and that's it. Could someone help please??

The screen to my phone will not turn on at all. I could hear the sound it makes when I do press on the home button. But the screen is not and will not respond and turn on. I plugged it in the charger to see if it'll do anything, but that didnt do anything. So I plugged it in the charger to my computer and even that didnt help with the situation. My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
Hi, I have connected my iPhone 5 to iTunes, backed it up and then started the update but there was a problem, now my phone will not work, it asks to restore factory settings which I have tried 3 times, each time it says the device has an unknown error and the phone switches off. Please help.
Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! If someone has a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

Try a Hard Reset,
press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
if that doesnt work you may need to do a restore

I have run into the same problem.
1. I was sharing the same itunes account with my wife for both of our iPhones 4s. She upgraded her phone to IOS7 two weeks before I did. After I did we ran into problems with messaging. Because we shared itunes account, both iphones were linked. When I sent text messages to someone, she got a copy. When they replied, she got a copy. I tried several ways to remove her phone from my profile, but would not work with new IOS7. I had to create a seperate itunes account for my phone in oirder to do so, as recommended on several help forums.
2. I backed up my phone onto itunes before setting up seperate itunes account. It showed that all the photos, contacts, notes, apps, etc. were synced and backed up.
3. I logged off itunes (former shared account- now wife's account), logged into new itunes account, and proceeded to restore my phone, while logged into my new itunes account, thinking this would delete my wife's phone from the profile as shared devices.
4. Phone would not restore by automatically syncing with itunes, by selecting back up recovery file to recover, or even by deleting everything and starting fresh as if it were a new phone, then trying to restore the data file as if it were recovering the backup info onto the new phone.
5. I get the same **** initialization loop sequence on the iphone every time, even after itunes goes through the recovery process, syncing all data, etc., multiple times. The iPhone loops through the grey screen "Welcome" in different languages, then asks which wireless server I want to connect to, enter passcode, then asks if I want to set up phone as a new device, backup from iCloud, or from iTunes backup. It does not matter which I select. It prompts me to connect to iTunes again. The point is, I have already been through these procedures and the iPhone cannot get past this point and enter run mode, showing me a screen with all my recovered settings.
For time being, just to have a functional phone, I have had to delete everything off the phone and set it up as a new device, back to factory settings. Then the phone will get past this and enter into run mode showing screen and apps with factory settings, no contacts, no email ( have to set up again), no voice mail ( have to reset).
Any ideas on how to over ride this reset mode in the iPhone, when all I want to do is download and recover settings from a backup in iTunes to the device? -

I know its probably fried and I need it repaired but is there any possible way I would be able to save the information that was on it. Pictures or videos? Most of my pictures were saved on my i Cloud, but some information had not been uploaded like my videos.
Does apple provide any sort of recovery services?

If your iPhone was being backed up to the iCloud or iTunes, you will be able to restore from that backup and recover the data that was on the device at the time of backup once you have your iPhone repaired. Please review the attached information about iCloud and iTunes backups.

My phone keeps on turning itself on, therefore interrupts the ongoing "iPhone Recovery Mode" in iTunes. This then makes me go back to square one: restore and wait 4 hours over and over again. What do I do to make it not get up again?

Just got a new iPhone 6, selling my 5 to Amazon. Trying to follow Apple instructions to erase content before sending but 5 will not connect to iCloud so I can't proceed - when promoted to enter password I keep getting "Verification failed. There was an error connecting to iCloud". I have checked apple id/password multiple times and they are correct. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance

every once in a while my iPhone 5 fails to recognize my Apple ID. I don't have to go all the way to Restore to Factory Settings, I just have to turn off the phone. (Hold down top button until screen asks to slide if you want to turn it off.) Give it a few seconds, turn it on again.
