HT4972 iOS 5 software makes my iPod Touch 4G lag a lot and it freezes. Help?
I have two iPods. One 3rd gen and one 4th gren. My 4th gen has had a LOT of problems with lagging and freezing, etc, so I exchanged it for a new one hoping it would be better than the last, but the problem keeps repeating itself, so I exchanged again. Before I exchanged it I updated my 3rd gen (4.0 software) to the new 5.1 iOS. Soon after the 3rd gen starting lagging and freezing, so I realized that my iPod wasn't the problem, but the software itself ruined my iPod. My new 4th gen that I exchanged also has the same problem again. Does anyone else have the same problem? Help?
Yes. With iOS 5 the iPod lags.Try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. That seems to help some other users.

I bought a digitizer from amazon and a LCD from there. And I got them today. When I installed my LCD I got a white screen, but restored ( I didn't have my digitizer on) so I tried to touch my LCD when it said slide to unlock, but nothing unresponsive and it still is. I put my digitizer on but I only had one screw that holding down the battery. And i connected it and nothing. Took it out, now I googled why it dos t work and it said "logic board" how do I know if it's broke. iPod touch 2nd gen 8gbLCD stands for Liqued Crystal Display and isn't the problem.

Just restored 2nd gen ipod touch music won't play and screen freezes
I don't know if anyone can help, but i had a secound hand 2nd gen ipod for xmas, i restored and updated it on the computer and i was working fine, then over ther weekend it started to freeze so i striped again back to factory setting now it will down load stuff but won't play games ( it freezes) and when i put music on there is know sound. i have tried it on a nother computer and i have scaned for a virus. please can anyone help?

IPod Touch 2G Turns Itself On And Then Freezes
I just recently got an iPod Touch 2g from the Apple store and have been having issues with it.
The main problem is that after I put it into sleep it will often wake itself up hours later and freeze on the boot logo.
For example I put it in sleep mode about 24 hours ago and about 30 minutes ago it has woken up from sleep mode and is now frozen on the Apple boot logo and will refuse to boot until I reset it.
It has done this a number of times including after a number of restores.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong with my iPod?Check your Dashboard Widgets.
And check for Login Items. Anything related to iTunes, delete it.

because you do not have a 3rd generation device. The OS Version says so , otherwise you would be at 4.3.5 minimum and also Itunes is also always correct in determining if you have the latest OS ( if not it fetches the newest from Apple's Servers ) . And because a 2nd generation iPod stops at 4.2.1 you can't get the newest OS, because your device is old. Buy a new iPod , they have iOS5 preinstalled. -

I am trying to download through Itunes the news iOS 4.3.3 software to my Ipod touch 4th G. it starts downloading just fine, but when it gets about 200mg into the 600 mg file, it comes back with stopped (err= -3259) has anyone seen this??? I have tried downloading this at different times of the day, and have also tried it on different internet service providers ... still recieve same error msg...

“SUCCESS!!! I took my iPod to a friend who is a computer programmer/genius. He turned off his wireless, hooked the ethernet cable directly into his computer, and the download went through without a hitch. YAY!”

It has the 2.1.2 ios on it, but after I paid for the upgrade to 3.1.1, I keep getting an error message (8288) saying there was a problem with the network connection. I have called customer service, and they suggested I try on a different computer, and if that didn't work, try connecting to a different network, and then trying the update. None of this has worked. It seems that tech support is clueless with this issue.
I have installed and unistalled iTunes 10.5, 10.3, 10.4, and now I am back with 10.5. I have tried looking up the issue from several search engines but no one seems to have a universal solution and I have tried several.
I really want to have this thing updated for himw hwne he opens it, but I am starting to worry that my purchase was a bust. I know this is the oldest version, but I don't want to buy a newer, more expensive iPod and him still not be mature enough to really take care of it. As I said, this one is a starter.
Can anyone help? Please?!

I want to download the new software on my ipod touch, on a different computer to what i usually sync my ipod to, and it keeps telling me i will lose all my downloads. i it possible to download the update on this computre, without deleting my information, and making this computer the main computer to sync my ipod to?
A manual backup will help in your situation.
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your iPod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.
