  • HT5312 Was the recover email option removed because mine is not available when I go to my security questions?

    All in the title

No it hasn't been removed, but it will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account.
If you aren't getting the reset link then you don't have a rescue email address, and you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions - you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

  • HT201363 my old rescue email account is deleted by old isp. How do I reset my security questions now?

I can log into my account with name and password then it asks security questions. I do not know what answers they want. When I reset it sends the prompt to an account that is deleted by last isp.How can I reset questions?

    Hello there, srscitech.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for what to do if you forgot or do not remember your security questions:
Apple ID: All about Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
If you forgot the answers to your security questions, try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you're not sure you remember the answers. If you're confident that you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you forgot your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time, you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • I have an iPhone 4 and an iPod 4th gen linked to the same email address and apple ID. I am trying to set up a new email address for the iPod so a family member can use it but it doesn't want to recognize the new email account. Where am I going wrong?

I have an iPhone 4 and a 4th gen iPod linked to the same email address and apple ID. I am trying to change the email address on the iPod so a family member can use it but when I do it says it doesn't recognize the email address. Where am I going wrong ? I just want them to be able to iMessage and email without having to use my email address.

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.

  • HT5312 What if I no longer use my rescue email address and cannot remember the username or password for that email address to retrieve the answers to my challenge questions?

What if I no longer use my rescue email address and cannot remember the username or password that I set up as my rescure email?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
