Html stationery

Hi,
I am trying to create html email stationery, but have run
into some compatibility problems. The background image (header)
which looks good in Outlook Express repeats in Entourage... not a
good look.
Would anyone know a good resource for creating html email
stationery or have some easy suggestions of how to do it? I usually
design with CSS so I don't really know much about using tables in
Dreamweaver. Thanks for your help. Regards

HTML emails do not use CSS in the head of the page.

Most do, especially now with Outlook 2007 retrograding to
1980's-style HTML
support.

  • Mac Mail HTML Stationery - Image Drop

    Hello,
I'm hoping someone who has a bit of experience developing Mac Mail Stationery templates might be able to help me. I have created my own template based off of a copy of an existing template and am running into some issues, particularly with 'Drag and Drop' images. I have a placeholder within the template that can be changed as appropriate within Mac Mail (by just dragging the image in.) My problem is that I cannot figure out how (or what) controls the scaling of this object. The images that I have tested (that range in size) seem to crop off and do not rescale to the size of the mask. Is there a way to control how these images drag in or make them scale to the best fit of a bounding box? I can't figure out how or what the images scale to and am not very familiar with the variables involved here. Is this something that is impossible to do? ANY advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
    Thank you!

My HTML / CSS skills are pretty limiting but if there are any resources out there that someone can recommend that address this, please let me know. I copied one of Apple's html templates and then resized & redesigned as needed. The html code is listed below. I also listed the file called 'description.plist' which seems to control the dimensions of my drop space view (but not the size). Please let me know if you were looking for something different.

  • Display image in html mail

I was recently sent an email that used an HTML stationery wih several photos embedded in it.  The email opens normally, but all of the images are icons, displaying file name and size.  If I click the icon, the image opens correcly in a separate window.
I am running OS X 10.7.3 and Mail 5.2 (1257) and have checked "display remote images in html email" in preferences.  A friend with identical software versions receives the same email and the photos are visible in the original email. Suggestions?

No-one replied, but I found a solution on another board. Run Terminal (do a Spotlight search if you don't know where to find this), and type: (or copy and past the next line)
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
This will force Mail not to disable inline attachment viewing. Obviously, to reverse this, simple replace 'false' at the end with 'true'.
Thanks to Louise101 from July 2011 for posting this.

  • How to import custom stationery into choices

I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly. We've created a html stationery template and it's on Safari (for convenience I put it on my top sites) When I want to write an email using the custom stationery, I have to open it in Safari, press command I, and then it opens the stationery as mail. Is there another way to add the new template directly in the mail program choices of stationery?
    Thanks!
(I'm still on Leopard 10.5.8) Mail version 3.6
    Safari 4.0.4

sorry for this ignorant question, but what do you mean?
update profile; and where, how do I do this?
On the right of your screen, click on "My Public Profile", then from that window, click on "Edit My Settings". change your profile there to 10.5.8 and save the changes.
Also, is the "mail folder" inside the library?
No, we're not talking about your Home/Library/Mail folder; we're talking about a folder inside of the Mail program (which is actually a package of files and folders). If you Control-click on the Mail icon inside /Applications (while it's not running), choose "Show Package Contents".
Then drill down to Contents > Resources and look for a folder that's named something to indicate it might hold those stationery templates. If you find that, put yours inside there and restart Mail to see if you can select it. If you can't, quit Mail and remove it.

  • HTML signatures distorted inside the Signatures and Stationery window preview/edit field, but display fine when used

I created an HTML signature and imported it into Outlook 2010/2013 by placing the .htm file into my %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures folder. The signature looks and works great, however the signature looks distorted / severely squished in width when attempting
to view the signature in the Signatures and Stationery window within Outlook. What would be causing this? Is this a common issue when using .htm signatures?
It isn't too big of an issue as the signatures do work as expected when in normal use, however some users would like to tweak theirs using Outlook's built in editor and are not currently able to.

In my experience at least, that's a normal behaviour. The editor isn't fully WYSIWYG so if you do anything complicated in there it won't always give an accurate representation of what will eventually be output when you insert it into a message. I've seen
the same thing with signatures copied from elsewhere, displaying fine in the email but not in the editor, so it's not restricted to imported .htm files.

  • Mail Stationery and HTML

    Hi there,
Is there someone who knows if I can use a HTML-page (that I created in iWeb) as a new mail stationery? I need to make a newsletter for my company, but the standard stationery is not statisfying for me and i need a stationery that includes pictures in the text and not as a header or a footer.
    Thanx!
    iMatts

Okaaaaay, we are getting close, but still ... not the result that's needed
The header picture is fine and looks great, but the pictures and text in the content area are not editable or changeable. A rectangular box is shown with the 'X' to close it on the upper left corner.
I think using HTMLs from iWeb for email stationery should be something easily do-able, because it is both HTML and a great way to personalize your emails ... (hope Cupertino is reading this :)).
Anyone else who succeeded in this topic ???

  • How To Use Stationery With Mail Replies

The issue of using stationery files was one of the main reasons why I personally resisted switching to Apple Mail from Eudora 6.2.4 for many years. I use stationery files a lot in Eudora.
Now that I have begun to use Apple Mail after all of these years -- I've been a solid Mac user for 21 years -- while I have been able to set up almost thirty custom stationery files, and can use them in original messages that I create -- although it takes seven steps from the time that I hit the "New Message" button to the time that I hit the "Send" button, while this can be accomplished in Eudora in only three steps using the "Message With" or "Reply With" message commands -- I have found absolutely no way to use my custom stationery files in reply messages in Apple Mail.
Surely there must be a simple way to include stationery files in reply messages. Can someone here please point me in the right direction? From what I can tell, there doesn't even appear to be a way to add the stationery button to the toolbar that is located on the top right side of the reply window.
I am also disappointed that there appears to be no way to delete the built-in stationery files that I have no use for, and which are just taking up space.
Furthermore, I haven't found any way to rearrange my custom stationery files in the order that I like them. I want to place the ones that I use the most on the left side of the display window. As it is now, the one that I use the most is located on the very end on the far right side, so I have to scroll way over to use it.
Apple, will you please address these basic Mail issues. Considering how advanced Mac OS X is, I am rather surprised that Apple Mail is deficient in these areas.
    Thanks so much!

As much as I have enjoyed using Eudora over the years, sadly, it is now falling behind the times. Some time ago, I began experiencing certain problems in some email messages, such as links not being clickable when they should have been, or at least not recognizing a certain link format, which resulted in Eudora throwing an error message. In other instances, email messages that were formatted in HTML were not displaying properly in Eudora.
The minute that I switched to Apple Mail, both of these issues were resolved, and I was quite surprised. It really made me realize how old Eudora has become. And the supposedly "new" Eudora? Nope, sorry, no thanks! That is not the real Eudora. I have now grown used to using Apple Mail, but again, I would really like the ability to respond with stationery files.
What also bugs me is that you cannot use stationery files with attachments, unless those attachments are images. For example, try attaching a zipped archive to an outgoing message that uses a stationery file. Everything seems okay until you hit the send button. Then you get a message which informs you that you either have to remove the zipped archive, or remove the stationery.
In the second decade of the 21st Century, I find these various problems with Apple Mail -- including the problems that I mentioned in my previous message -- totally unacceptable.

  • How can I convert iWeb page to html with NO javascript for email campaign?

I have a holiday greeting I made in iWeb '09 for my business. The service I'm using to use to manage my mailing list wants me to strip all javascript code from the page so it is not seen as spam when it is emailed.
How can I convert the page made in iWeb to an html page with no javascript?
    Thanks

How can I convert the page made in iWeb to an html page with no javascript?
You cannot. There will be nothing left. iWeb pages rely a lot on JavaScript.
Use a template from Mail.app. Or create such template. These are simple TABLES and have no JavaScript in it.
Do Cmd-Shift-G in the finder and type :
    /Library/Application Support/Apple/Mail/Stationery/Apple/Contents/Resources/
Open one of the folders and open each successive folder until you see files like Picnic.mailstationery.
Right-click to show the package content.
Then navigate thru Contents, Resources until you see the files and images you need.
Edit them to your hearts content.
Double-click the file Picnic.mailstationery and it will open in Mail.app for further processing.

  • How to make a stationery out of .doc or .docx file?

    Hi,
I stumbled upon a website that has some nice stationery, in .doc format. and since there few free pre made stationery available for Mail.app, at least to my knowledge, because I think I almost downloaded every free stationery available out there that could be easily found via Google. I decided to download some of these .doc stationeries and try to put them in Mail.app, but first I had to convert them into .html format. so here is what I've already tried and did not work:
first I tried opening them in TextEdit, which supports .doc out of the box, only to find out that the pictures in the documents are gone to thin air. I tried saving it and then opening it with something else like Open Office, but the pictures were permanently gone.
then I tried opening the original documents directly in Open Office, you guessed right If you said they will look screwed, and they were, and tried to save them as html, they were screwed even more.
so I did a bit of research and found out that I could use Google Docs in order to convert the documents, I uploaded them into my Google docs and then tried to open them with it, but found it that Google docs can't handle the pictures (specially background pictures) either. as a result I did more searching to find a document converter and here is what I found:
I found a few online service to convert these documents:
http://www.freefileconvert.com/ was pretty good to convert the files into an .odt format. at first I thought yes I got the solution, now I can simply convert it to html using Open Office, but unfortunately, when I saved the document in html format and checked it in Safari to see how does it look, as If I would have done the same in MS Office with the original format, it looked pretty much screwed .
So I continued to look and I found a few other online services one of them asked me to pay a fee, I skipped to the other one which was http://docx-converter.com/. unfortunately the website wasn't functioning properly I think, at least for me (maybe someone out there has succeeded using it, I don't know.) and it didn't send me anything.
Finally I found http://www.zamzar.com/ that could convert .doc or .docx documents into html, or at least that is what it claims to do so, I tried it, and after I received the file via email, I found out it only contains a bmp image of the document's background. So much for the online conversion services!
But I decided I would give it a last shot using MS Office online, so I opened up my old Windows Live mail and went into my Skydrive, I uploaded the documents and tried saving it as html, but there were no save as html (after all an online copy of MS Office should have some limitations, otherwise few people will be willing to buy a Desktop version) but this didn't made me disappointed, since I already knew, that Neither Office Word can make a clear conversion, so I tried something different, while I was in Safari looking at the document in online MS office, I saved the page as Web Archives, then I opened the file with TextEdit, and after deleting useless links and pictures, I finally managed to get a clear document with everything that supposed to be in it. At this point I only need to know how to make use of this document to create a stationery with this raw file which is in Web Archive format. any ideas?
    null

I'm a total idiot! How did I overlook http://www.zamzar.com/ functions? I think I might have mistakenly chosen convert to BMP instead of html. I tried it and the result was very good.
OK I finally found a good solution for this problem, so everyone out there that has the same problem, here is what I did:
    1. OK if you have some .doc and .docx file formats and you want to convert them into something like .html or .odt, without having to reedit the code or getting a screwed document, use http://www.freefileconvert.com/ in order to convert them into .odt so they would look as they do in MS office just go to the website and upload your documents then choose .odt, then click convert, after a few moments you will get a link to download your .odt files. you can use and play around with your document in Open Office, I have tested it and it's really good.
    2. Or if you want to convert them into .html with a clean code, and all the elements in it, simply go to http://www.zamzar.com/ and then ulpoad your documents, choose .html and enter your email address, you will have your .html files zipped and sent right in your inbox, then you could use Kompozer like me, or any other html editor, to make a template out of it. I tried it and the result was nice, now I have a bunch of nice html files that I can use to make templates and email stationery.

  • How do i delete a stationery in mail that doesn't have the X

How do i delete a stationery in mail that doesn't have the X to delete it and its beger then the rest of my other stationery

"when I try save to PDF it just wants to save it to a file?"
Correct. The difference between "Mail PDF" and "Save PDF" is that the first opens a new Mail message with the file attached. the second saves a file which you may attach to an email message.
"Terrainathome is a good example of what I am trying to do."
Not familiar with Terrainathome, but my guess is that the company is sending an email message containing HTML code that downloads what's essentially a web page into the displayed message. To do that, you'll need a website, software that will produce the necessary HTML code, and recipients with email clients capable of interpreting HTML (which is 'most email clients' these days).

  • Embed HTML Code Into Mail?

    Hi,
Is it possible to embed HTML code into an Apple Mail message? If it isn't, this would be a really useful feature. Lots of sites now, such as YouTube and Flickr, provide snippets of HTML code that you can copy and paste into your "webpage". But how useful would it be if you could paste this code directly into an e-mail? That way you could do things such as embed a YouTube video into an e-mail, rather than just provide a link to it.

You can do it, but it will not be the easiest thing, and it's generally frowned on, since HTML email is used by spammers and marketers to track whether or not you open their emails. It's much easier and more accepted to just send a link to something you want someone to see; not everyone has time time, patience, or affordable broadband to download a web page with an embedded video window.
You'd have to do the coding yourself, test it to be sure it works when sending and receiving, and then send it to everyone you want to see it. That's a lot of work for no real benefit. According to Apple, Mail in 10.5 allows the sending of HTML using the Stationery feature; have you tested that or checked the Help files for that to see how it's done?

  • Other stationery templates...

Does anyone know if there are or will be ways to add addtional templates for the mail program. I find the ones included a little fluffy and would like other options.

    Hi Gabriel,
I had the same thought. This is the only solution I can find at present.
    http://www.equinux.com/us/products/stationery/index.html
I've looked at the Equinux offering but, as an artist, I'd rather
spend the money on crafting my own rather than spending money on their
design sense. Some of the templates look great but many, if not most,
aren't to my taste or needs.
I was rather thinking that someone might create an application to create and install templates and possibly host a template exchange. Toward that end, I contacted the Plasq crew (ComicLife) but they are too busy to take on another project and suggested I keep trumpeting the concept. I do believe the idea is obvious enough that an enterprising developer will create a Mail.app template creation application pretty quickly.
Oh well. Ideas are cheap. Turning them into reality is the hard part!

  • Upgrade to 4.5 device software on Telus Pearl 8130: HTML Email viewer doesn't work

I just upgraded the software on my Telus Mobility (Canada) BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (from 4.3).
One of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade was to take advantage of the HTML email viewer (yeah!  finally!).
My installation went fine, and the View Messages in HTML option is enabled (was by default, have verified it again).
On my first test email that I sent to myself from my Yahoo account to my default ISP email account, here's what happened.  The Yahoo email uses a very simple "stationery" as background, consisting of two small graphic files, one in the upper left and one in the lower right.  In between those two graphics is the text you wish to write.  So I put the words "test test" in the text portion and sent it to myself.
When the email was received on the Pearl, indeed I saw the two graphics.  However, the text was not displayed.
That was the first attempt.  The second attempt produced no graphics at all.
I also tried sending myself an email using some formatting, like bold fonts, different text colors, underline and one jpg file.  None of the formatting came through, and the jpg came through as an attachment (instead of in the the body of the email where it was placed).  When I tried to open the jpg, by clicking on "1 Attachment", I got an error stating that it is an unrecognized file type and cannot be opened.
So it appears that the upgrade took 1 step forward and 3 backwards.
Anyone experience this, and if so, is there a fix, either now or in the works?  Does RIM Support read these forums?
Telus Tech Support said that something is being done but they weren't too specific.
I have another upgrade-related question regarding Documents to Go, but I'll post that in a separate thread.

    hello,
about your Bluetooth problem, I suggest you one a new discussion on the decicated board called "BlackBerry Accessories". ou will find there experts about Bluetooth.

about the third point : it usually takes a long time for the device to emerge after a battery pull. It's quite common, you can't do anything about it.
about the second point. In my opinion there at least one picture that is corrupted (or one index file).
in the folder containing that image, do you have many images ? Let's call that folder A.
I suggest you to move them one by one into another folder B, then scroll through the folder A.
it will certainly reset a few times, until at one point it wont' freeze, meaning the folder A does not contain the corrupted image anymore.
you then know that the last image moved from A to B is the culprit.
