Hyperion System 9 Issue with Configuration Utility
HI All,
We are using Hyperion System 9.3.0 and we are stuck with a very strange issue. I wanted to reconfigure Shared Services due to few issues and resink up Essbase. But i am not able of find Shared Services in the Configuration Utility. I see BI+ and Provider Services but no Shared Services.
Has anyone encountered this error? Is there a workaround to bring in Shared Services into Config Utility?
Kindly share your thoughts.
Thanks for your reply..Additional info The operating system we use is Windows 2003.
I see the folder
common/config/product/hub/<9.3.0> --- hub.xml
But i see only one xml file..I checked with the production installation..It too has only one xml file under hub/9.3..But i am able to use configuration utility in that box...
Are we missing something..Kindly let me know your thoughts..
thanks..

Issue with configuring Hyperion HUB 7.1.2 with SQLSERVER 2005
Hello Experts,
One of my customer has an issue with configuring Hyperion HUB 7.1.2 with SQLSERVER 2005.
"We are trying to configure the SQL server 2005 database with Hyperion hub and we are unable to get the cofiguration completed. We suspect the driver class (hyperion.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver) used in the domain.xml (path \Hyperion\HyperionHub\7.2.1\deployments\Tomcat\4.1.30\) is not helping to connect with sql server 2005. We would appreciate if you can provide new driver class which we can included while deploying the app under the web server."
Please suggest. Thanks in advance
Regards,
SonuHi
Please redeploy only the Web Server under shared service. It has to be redeployed once EPMA and others are configured.
Thanks
Rupak

Discovery issues with airport extreme and issues with airport utility
I lost about 3 hours with connection issues while trying to add a second airport express. The airport Utility couldn't find any of the units anymore. After aging a couple of years and checking lots of forums (many suffered the same problems) I found this link
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1406#
Which seemed to help me reset the units and find them again. Though I can't be certain if it was just luck, the airport utility and detection and resetting of the express and extreme seemed solved.
I would add that this is an area that should be looked at by apple. It is not the first time that I have problems with the airport utility or the extreme.Check the cabling to the Base Station - make sure the modem is plugged into the Base Station's ethernet WAN port (ie the port labelled with the "circle of dots" icon).
With the modem cabled to the Base Station - pull power to both for five minutes or so. Then plug the modem into power and wait a minute. Then plug the Base Station into power and wait a minute. Then try internet access again.
If that still doesn't work:
- on the Mac which can successfully connect to the internet when cabled directly to the modem, tell us what settings are found in System Preferences->Network->Show ethernet built in->PPPoE tab, and under the TCP/IP tab.
- from either a PC or the Mac connected to the Base Station, run the Airport Admin Utility, select the name of your base station, click Configure, click on the Internet tab. Tell us what settings are found under that tab. -
Issue with configuration wizard
Hello,
I am trying to build a sandbox just like our production which has 1 Admin, 2 WFE's and 1 SQL on all different servers. I have installed SQL, Installed admin but while installing WFE1 I had an issue as the drive letters of Admin and WFE1 so
I had to uninstall and reinstall WFE1 (did not get to WFE2 yet). When I ran the configuration wizard on WFE1 I got the error as below
======================
An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: The current server cannot be joined to this farm because the set of installed products does not match the products installed in the farm.
The license state for the current server doesn't match the farm's license state.

=========================
After some research online I figured GUID's in my configuration DB's and GUID in the registry of WFE1 are different. So I followed the article
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sowmyancs/archive/2012/08/08/the-license-state-for-the-current-server-doesn-t-match-the-farm-s-license-state-sharepoint-psconfig-error.aspx .
So from the article I ran
Set-SPFarmConfig –InstalledProductsRefresh
on WFE1 but it stops and does not finish what it supposed to do (looks like)

What should I do at this point I can try anything before I uninstall and reinstall everything as it would be very painful.
Any help is appreciated.

Issues with configuring lookback adapter on vista
Hey people,
I installed the lookback adapter for a PC running vista business, and connected to my broadband router. The instructions on this site indicate that I should add a line to the: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file.
Now I opened this file with notepad, added the new ip address, host and domain names, but the it wont let me save this extra information.
When i try saving, it says: cannot create the c:\windows .... etc\hosts file. ... make surethat the path and file name are correct.
I installed the Oracle 10g anyway, it didint show any warnings, but of course I cant connect to the enterprise manager, but most other products seem to be working.
please help ....Hi there,
well just like you said, I couldnt connect to em after disconnecting the computer. I now tried the reconfigurations you suggested, but it apparently was not successful. Below are the steps and reports, please help ......

Color management issues with colorsync utility
hi all,
I'm trying to properly color manage my workflow from camera to monitor to printer and I read through the entire manual on the "colorsync utility" which is supposed to do this. That's an hour of my life I'll never get back. Anyway the color is different on my camera's screen from my computer monitor and the final output is radically different.
I've used the ICC profile for my camera (Canon Rebel XT) and I've visually callibrated my monitor. I'm using a Canon IP 4600 with a continuous ink system (non OEM ink).
What I need to know is how do I change the color space visually? What I mean is without spending hundreds on colorometers etc. I know how to manually callibrate my computer monitor, but how do I ensure that my camera matches my screen and how do I compensate for the non OEM ink?
thanks for any helpDougfly,
Only an hour wasted? Lucky you. Color is an incredibly complex subject. First, forget matching anything to the small LCD on the back of your camera. That's there as a basic guide and is affected by the internal jpg algorithm of your camera.
2nd, you're not really takeing a color photo with your digital camera, but three separate B&W images in a mosaic pattern, exposed thru separate red, green and blue filters. Actual color doesn't happen until that matrix is demosaiced in either your raw converter, or the in-camera processor (which relies heavily on camera settings, saturation, contrast, mode, etc.)
Having said the above, you can still get very good, predictable results in your workflow. I have a few color management articles on my website that you might find very helpful. Check out the Introduction to Color Management and Monitor and Printer Profiling. In my opinion, a monitor calibration device is the minimum entry fee if you want decent color.

Incomprehensible - BT system issue with available ...
I am lossing the will to live having to deal with BT, who seem completely unable to comprehend a simple problem!!!
BT Systems seemed to have corrupted my account, their systems tell them that my max inifinity speed is 29mb on a new 80mb cabinet & exchange, when I am less than 100m from the street cabinet. All of my neighbours are correct at 80mb and achieving this speed. Whilst BT systems tell them 29mb, my line test (http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/) of the installed service at both my house and at the cabinet (openreach engineer) are at 40mb, even though I ordered the 80mb package. The Openreach engineer confirmed that the reason I am getting 40mb and not 80mb is because BT ordered a 40mb line not the 80mb line. BT are unable to change the line speed and no one seems willing to believe and then finally able to deal with this issue.
How on earth do I get through this issue? This has been going on for 2 months and I must have spent over 10hours on the phone to different people at BT.
Please someone help!!!!
Ian.Can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results
http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
and use this speed tester then carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This will show if you are on Infinity 1 or Infinity 2. This test must be done with a wired connection.

If you have a Homehub 5 can you also post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/ -
Problems with Configuration Utility for UC320W
Hello,
I connected my recently purchased UC320W directly from the WAN port to my router and my laptop directly to one of the LAN ports. I powered it up and logged into the config utlity using a web browser (after discovering that I needed to downgrade my version of Flash :-( ) and the device immediately asked to update the firmware, several times, which I did). After that I logged in again and configured the network topology. I selected voice + data with an external DHCP. Soon after applying these changes I lost connection to the config utility, which is somewhat what I expected. However the problem is that now I can no longer access the config utlity. I have tried the IP address my router has assigned it, using WI-FI and when connected directly to LAN port on the device and have tried the defualts 192.168.10.1 and "http://uc320w." without any success. Does anyone have any idea how to get past this? TIA.Hi, some of what you say rang a bell, when I was trying to do something similar with my set up last year. I'll describe my setup and what I wanted and then how I managed to get it all to work!
I have a UC320W with a couple of SPA504G phones, which connect with the Wireless phone adapters. The main modem/router is an SRP547W.
What I wanted was for the SRP547 to handle all non-phone DHCP requests.
The SRP547 to also handle all WiFi connections (including the phones - so I could completely disable the UC320 WiFi).
Still use the spare UC320 ethernet ports as a switch from the SRP547W.
Everything appears to be working well now, though as you have found it seems to be a bit of trial and error! Anyhow, these are my settings:
On the UC320:
Topology - The UC320W Routes Voice Only
Obtain Data VLAN - Static IP Address on the data LAN - Default Gateway is the SRP547 address
WAN - WAN type DHCP
LAN - Voice LAN is separate to the main data LAN and is set with its own DHCP range.
Wireless - All disabled
On the SRP547
One DHCP server created for the data LAN
VLAN Settings - Data_VLAN ID=1 Address Type - DHCP Server Pool - Membership includes SSID1
Voice_VLAN ID=100 Address Type - Dynamic IP Address - Membership inlcudes SSID2
Wireless - SSID1 created for data connections
SSID2 created for phone connections (SPA504's wireless adaptors join this network).
As far as cabling go, I had to connect the UC320 WAN port to an SRP547 port AND a UC320 Ethernet port to another SRP547 port - this maybe where your problem lies?
So the SRP547 is the DHCP server for all connections on the data LAN and the UC320 is the DHCP server for the phone connections, but the phone's WiFi goes via the SRP547.
I'm no expert on this stuff, but it has all been working flawlessly in this setup for a while now!
Let me know if you need any other details or suggestions.

Issues with loadjava utility on oracle database 10.2.0.4.0
Hi all
Hoping if this is a known issue, am approaching you here .. We have an oracle database in 10.2.0.4.0 version. This database functionality of Websphere Process Server, a product from IBM. In the course we are expected to load a JAR file for a one schema and it fails for some reason with ORA - 07445 errors. I happen to set out SGA_MAX_SIZE and SGA_TARGET at 1024 MB and JAVA_POOL_SIZE at 768MB to allow this loadjava command to run successfully. I also happen to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH as $ORACLE_HOME/lib on this solaris 10 machine. Below is the command and the error message we are receiving. Please do advice us if this is a known issue or guide us to any information which might help us resolve this issue while we continue searching for a solution.. Many thanks in advance.
Regards!

Issue with configuration of 'Special Function' to a custom output type
Hi Experts,
In my project we have a requirement to configure a custom output type for application V3 (billing) and assign a Special Function to it. I have assigned a custom Program Name and a custom form routine within the custom output type in Processing Routines (in NACE). But when I try to save the Billing document using VF01 / VF02 it gives me an error saying 'Processing Routine XXXXX in program ZXXXXX does not exist'. I have double checked that the Z program is activated. I have declared as follows:
REPORT ZXXXX.
FORM XXXX USING return_code us_screen.
Can anyone please tell me if I am missing something?
Thanks,
AviHi Neil,
Now this error is resolved. It does not give me that message anymore. But I am getting a new error while saving the billing document with the customized output type. Following is my configuration in NACE:
Application: V3
Output Type: ZMAM
Program: YVRO_TOLLING
Form Routine: F_FETCH_AND_PREPARE_DATA
I am trying to place a break-point within the form routine F_FETCH_AND_PREPARE_DATA but it does not stop there. When go back inside the billing document, it shows an error against the ZMAM output type but has nothing in the processing log. Am I missing something?

Reimaging issue with Disk Utility on Intel mac
My department recently acquire 2 intel iMacs (24")
I have a bootable PPC firewire drive on which I keep .dmgs of each machines for redo/updates. With the new machines I partitioned out a firewire drive to GUID and made it a bootable intel OS disk. I am able to create a backup of the first iMac I have configured but unable to use this image to restore the 2nd iMac's hard drive.
I have tried both manually erasing and unmounting the drive but I continually get a Restore Error: Could not open connection to helper tool.
Any ideas? So you created an image of one iMac onto the FWHD and can't restore it to the second iMac. If you're booting with the second iMac, then you cannot restore the image to a booted volume. You need a separate bootable volume to do that. Easiest thing to do is first restore the configured iMac's HD to the FWHD, then creatte the image. Now you should be able to boot the second iMac with the FWHD, mount the image, and restore it. Or, dispense with the image and just restore the FWHD to the second one.

Issue with configuring an enterprise outlook which was working fine 4 weeks before
Hi all,
I am facing below error from past few days.
Microsoft Outlook
The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.
OK
Could anyone tell me what i can do to fix this and access my outlook?
Regards,
Chaitanya KHi,
As far as I know, the error is mostly likely related to connectivity issue. thus, we can firstly try to check the connectivity and here are some troubleshooting:
Change another Outlook client to configure the account.
Check if you can access your account through OWA.
Directly access the following URL:
https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

Issue with UTL_FILE Utility
Hi
I have a program to create source codes based on the input parameters passed. I am able to successfully print it too. But when i try to directly write those lines into a file it writes only the last line. Please check the code written in CONCAT_STR_RND where i call the procedure L_WRITE_TRG_FILES to write to a file.
I knew i am missing some thing silly here in looping constructs or what ever but could not trace that out. Request the forum users to get that resolved and help.
Code used for creating the procedure is shown below.

Anyway, your code performs open file+write line+close file for each line (what a mess) and it always opens file for write (P_OPEN_MODE IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'W') which means file is overwritten each time. You need to change your code to pass P_OPEN_MODE parameter to you file writing procedure. Then call it with P_OPEN_MODE 'W' (write) for the first line and 'A' (append) for next lines.
