Hypersonic SQL client program (Database Manager)

I would like to ask if there are some hypersonic Sql client program which can provide me a convenient environment for altering the table structure easily.
I have used the database manager provided by it and tried using other JDBC client program like isql in sourceforge.
I dont know whether there is tools which is written for HSQLDB. If there is, please tell me. Thanks very much for your kind act!!

sorry I should say it is HSQLDB
Actually, it is very powerful and light such that many open source software love to use it.
http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net
Actually, the package it provided is enough for general purpose
But for building complicated application , I think it is not enough if I change field and data type very often.

  • Get error when connecting SQL 2012 Management studio to SQL Server 2012 database

    I got this error message when I tried to connect to SQL Server 2012 using Management studio 2012.
    Service 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.IRegistrationService' not found (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.SDK.SqlStudio)

    Did this get this resolved?
    My SSMS 2012 was running without issue for several months until I installed VS2012. After the VS2012 I started getting "Service 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.IRegistrationService' not found" when connecting to database in SSMS 2012. I uninstalled VS2012
    and SSMS 2012 started working again. Installed VS2012 and SSMS 2012 is broken again.
    I tried the above suggestions without success. Here are the error details. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Please help!
    Samnang.

    Hi SSamnang,
    According to your description, you come across the error that the specific account already exists. Please help to share the complete error log in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20150102_161500\SSCRuntime_Cpu32_1.log. You could
    use google drive to upload the error log following the steps in the article:
    https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2424368?hl=en
    From the exception help link, we notice that, the issue could be due to that an attempt fails to install SQL Server Native Client on a computer where SQL Server Native Client is already installed.
    I recommend you to check if there is already an existing SQL Server Native Client on your computer. If there is an existing one, you could uninstall it and install SQL Server again.
    In addition, there is a similar thread for reference:

  • Client Program accessing J2EE entity Bean

    I have trouble find my Course J2EE bean from a client. (The client
    runs on the same computer but a different VM from the bean.)
    In Glassfish (Sun Application Server Nine), I set up a simple
    Container-Managed Entity Bean. I tried to access it from an external
    client as described in the glassfish EJB
    FAQ https://glassfish.dev.java.net/javaee5/ejb/EJB-FAQ.html
    Here is the client program:
    package RS;
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import org.apache.xml.serialize.*;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.xml.sax.*;
    import RS.CourseHome;
    import RS.CoursePK;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    import javax.rmi.*;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import Debug.*;
    public class Client {
    public static void main (String arg[]) throws IOException {
    try {
    InitialContext jndiContext = new InitialContext ();
    Debug.P("jndic ongtext" + jndiContext);
    Object o = jndiContext.lookup("RS.CourseHome");
    Debug.P("looked up object "+o + "|"+o.getClass().getName());
    RS.CourseHome home =
        (RS.CourseHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(o,RS.CourseHome.class);
    Debug.P("got home "+home);
    Course C = home.create(1);
    C.setName("blah");
    CoursePK PK = new CoursePK();
    PK.number=1;
    C = home.findByPrimaryKey(PK);
    Debug.P(C.getName());
    catch (java.rmi.RemoteException re) {Debug.P("Remote Exception" + re.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.naming.NamingException ne){Debug.P("Naming Exception"+ne.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.ejb.CreateException ce){Debug.P("Create Exception"+ce.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.ejb.FinderException fe){Debug.P("Finder Exception"+fe.getMessage());}
    }Here is the error message:

    com.sun.corba.ee.impl.corba.CORBAObjectImplEarlier, I tried the version below, but based on the suggestion by Mr. Ebbert
    in the forum started "Error When running the Client Program" by sree_devi,
    I checked
    the following. I went to "Jndi Tree Browsing" from the Administrative Console
    and I found a "RS.CourseHome" entry under "ejb" I found RS.CourseHome there
    but did not see the "Course" tghat I expected to see
    Thus, I tried the version above:
    package RS;
       --- imports deleted for conciseness
    import Debug.*;
    public class Client {
    public static void main (String arg[]) throws IOException {
    try {
    InitialContext jndiContext = new InitialContext ();
    Object o = jndiContext.lookup("Course");
    CourseHome home =
        (CourseHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(o,CourseHome.class);
    Course C = home.create(1);
    C.setName("blah");
    CoursePK PK = new CoursePK();
    PK.number=1;
    C = home.findByPrimaryKey(PK);
    Debug.P(C.getName());
    catch (java.rmi.RemoteException re) {Debug.P("Remote Exception" + re.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.naming.NamingException ne){Debug.P("Naming Exception"+ne.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.ejb.CreateException ce){Debug.P("Create Exception"+ce.getMessage());}
    catch (javax.ejb.FinderException fe){Debug.P("Finder Exception"+fe.getMessage());}
    }When I run it, I get the following Naming Exception: Course not found
    I confirmed at the administrative console, that I have "Course" listed
    under Enterprise Applications:
    As per the ejb FAQ, I set up my $CLASSPATH so it starts as follows:
    /opt/j2ee/SUNWappserver/lib/appserv-rt.jar:
    /opt/j2ee/SUNWappserver/lib/javaee.jar:I also verifed in my domain.xml that the orb-listener-1, the default
    naming service port was at 3700.
    Here is the info on the Bean that I have running for both of the tries
    at my Client code.

    hi s-mcgowan,
    "some other processing" comprises of printing of debug lines and publishing to the message queue using JMS. I added more debug lines so that i could see whats really happening... here is the result
    myTableHome.create(...); <----------- no exception was thrown and it returned LocalMyTable object
    print out "Insert successful"
    print out "publishing message"
    ... publish message to message queue using JMS...
    print out "Publish done"
    ... after few milliseconds...
    java.sql.BatchUpdateException: Data exception -- row already exist in index PK_MYTABLE on table MYTABLE.
    From the exception it seems like its doing a batch insert. So that seems to explain why the java.sql.BatchUpdateException is thrown few milliseconds after my call to myTableHome.create(...);
    Is it possible to disable batch update / insert? how?
    thanks in advance,
    leigh

  • Using Windows NT 4.0 client program connecting to oracle 8i linux server

    Dear sir/madam,
    Recently, I have successfully installed Oracle 8i in my red hat linux database server. I am disappointed because I can find client side Oracle Enterprise Manager in my linux server even I have installed client program in my linux database server.
    Next, I install Oracle 8i client side program (windows NT/2000 version) in my Windows NT 4.0 server. I am still disappointed because I find Oracle Enterprise Manager console cannot work.
    For Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Manager, I have key in default administrator sysman, password oem_temp, and connect to mamagement server hangng (my linux database server). An error message display 'VTK-1000 Unable to connect to the management server hangng. Please verify that you have entered the correct host name and the status of the Oracle Management Server.'.
    What's wrong with both Oracle 8i Management Server in linux database server and windows nt 4.0 server. Is there any problem for Oracle Management server console to connect to red hat linux database server?

    I need to confirm that I will be able to connect an Oracle 11g R2 client (administrator install) to an Oracle 8i DB before i bother trying to setup such a scenario?Don't waste your time. It won't work. It simply results in an error.
    I saw another thread that mentioned a patch level required for 8i to let the 10g client connect. Is there such a patch level needed for 11g clients as well?There is no such patch for 8i which allows 11g client to connect.

I am usung weblogic server 8.1 . while running Bean managed entity bean client program it throws no name found exception.please guide me how to run a entity client program. i configured JDBC driver for SQL successfully.
    Regards
    Priya.M

    Hi Priya,
    Before running the ejb client we need to follow the steps as given below.
    1)set the weblogic environment using the setWLSEnv
    2)set the classpath for ejb(home,remote and bean).
    3)run the client program
    Note:To set the classpath for the ejb(suppose if we placed the ejb's in ejb folder)
    set classpath=d:\ejb;.; %classpath%

  • Anybody using Hypersonic SQL in JSP?

    Hello,
    Does anybody use Hypersonic SQL?
    I implement a guestbook system with JSP that
    saves data in Hypersonic SQL. This system
    runs on www.mycgiserver.com. My JSP program
    has thread safe option set to false to make
    sure one thread is reading and writing the database
    at a time. However, every once in a while, the
    database will be wiped out mysteriously.
    So I am just wondering that this happens to
    anyone else? Is this a Hypersonic SQL's bug
    or it's the server that goofs up or I did something
    wrong with the JSP setting? Any ideas or
    comments please? Thanks !!!

    Hi there!
    I use Hypersonic locally and on mycgiserver.com. Luckilly, I haven't encountered your problems so far. I use a similar approach, I have a bean that handles a singleton-connection to the DB, and that will queue up all requests. But so far , I haven't had that much load on the app, so maybe I'll get back in this matter, with the same problem... Anyone att mycgiserver that had an ida?

  • SQL error or database missing

    NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES);
    NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0];
    NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"bookdb.sql"];
    // Open the database. The database was prepared outside the application.
    //int retcode =sqlite3_open([path UTF8String], &database);
    if (sqlite3_open([path UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK)
    // Get the primary key for all arrContacts.
    const char *chRecordIdQuery ="SELECT pk FROM book";
    sqlite3_stmt *sqlStatement;
    // Preparing a statement compiles the SQL query into a byte-code program in the SQLite library.
    // The third parameter is either the length of the SQL string or -1 to read up to the first null terminator.
    int retcode = sqlite3preparev2(database, chRecordIdQuery, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL);
    if (sqlite3preparev2(database, chRecordIdQuery, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL) == SQLITE_OK)
    // We "step" through the results - once for each row.
    while (sqlite3_step(sqlStatement) == SQLITE_ROW)
    // The second parameter indicates the column index into the result set.
    int primaryKey = sqlite3columnint(sqlStatement, 0);
    // We avoid the alloc-init-autorelease pattern here because we are in a tight loop and
    // autorelease is slightly more expensive than release. This design choice has nothing to do with
    // actual memory management - at the end of this block of code, all the book objects allocated
    // here will be in memory regardless of whether we use autorelease or release, because they are
    // retained by the arrContacts array.
    [self fetchContacts:primaryKey];
    [arrContacts addObject:ContactName];
    // "Finalize" the statement - releases the resources associated with the statement.
    sqlite3_finalize(sqlStatement);
    else
    // Even though the open failed, call close to properly clean up resources.
    sqlite3_close(database);
    NSAssert1(0, @"Failed to open database with message '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database));
    // Additional error handling, as appropriate...
    When I execute this code den the sqlite_open commands works properly , it means it can find the database and opens it but it returns error om this line
    "if (sqlite3preparev2(database, chRecordIdQuery, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL) == SQLITE_OK)"
    the value of int retcode = sqlite3preparev2(database, chRecordIdQuery, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL); is returned as 1 which says - SQL error or database missing .
    Also , previously I used the same code in other project and there it ran succesfully.
    I could not find out what is happening.
    can anyone help me out ?

    Try wrapping code that you submit to the forum in a pair (no slashes). It makes it much easier to read.
    It is hard to say what the problem is without knowing what your db file actually looks like. Given that you've had success with this code before you might double check the db file that is in the simulator's sandbox for your application. You can go to your <username>/Library/ApplicationSupport/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/<appropriate directory for your app>/Documents and your should see the db file that you are trying to select from.
    You can check to see that it actually contains the schema and data that you expect with the command line tool: sqlite3. Run sqlite3 on you db file and then enter .dump. That will print the contents of your tables in the db.
    In my experience, a problem with the "prepare" call is generally related to a mismatch between your SQL statement and the actual db's schema.
    It may not help, but it is worth looking if you haven't yet.
    Cheers,
    Greg

  • IDL Design and Client program

    Hello forum, I've got a problem with IDL and interfaces design and with client program.
    In my database, I have 3 tables: Calendar, Group, Staff. Each employee (of staff) has a calendar and belongs to several groups. So, I have designed the IDL as -->
    module com
         module gmsoft
              module model
                   module interfaces
                        struct GroupInfo
                             long id;
                             string description;
                        struct CalendarInfo
                             long id;
                             string description;
                        typedef sequence<GroupInfo> GroupList;
                        struct StaffInfo
                             long id;
                             string first_name;
                             string second_name;
                             string phone1;
                             string phone2;
                             string mobile;
                             string fax;
                             CalendarInfo calendar;
                             GroupList groups;
              module controller
                   module interfaces
                        interface IControllerManager
                             boolean addStaff(in com :: gmsoft :: model :: interfaces :: StaffInfo staff);
                             boolean removeStaff(in com :: gmsoft :: model :: interfaces :: StaffInfo staff);
                             boolean updateStaff(in com :: gmsoft :: model :: interfaces :: StaffInfo staff);
                             com :: gmsoft :: model :: interfaces :: StaffInfo getStaff(in long id);
    };As you can see, I've designed only one interface, the IControllerManager which will manage all requests in order to get an employee, or save one...
    I don't know what the best is, if I have to design a StaffInfo (CalendarInfo and GroupInfo) as a structures(struct) or interfaces (interface).
    I've tested both forms: As structures, I found the following problems:
    1) On the client side, I can create an object of StaffInfo and pass it as a parameter to addStaff of the remote controller object. Is this object passed by value or by reference is it is created as a structure?
    2) Using structures I can't use inherintace. (idlj mapped structures as final classes).
    As interfaces:
    1) I can't create objects of StaffInfo on the client side, because StaffInfo inherits from StaffInfoOperations, and the implementation (of remote interface) inherits form StaffInfoPOA that inherits from StaffInfoOperations. So, how can I create an object of StaffInfo on the client side, and pass it as a parameter to addStaff, for example? Is it possible?
    Thanks for all in advance.
    I will appreciate your help a lot.

    Meh. Decoding the packets will present a challenge. And like I said if it turns out the connection is encrypted it won't work.Well, if you have any better ideas, I'm more than willing to listen. Thanks for the other response.Well if I were you I think I would give up on the project as a whole. I am wary of tasks that rely on reverse engineering or things like packet capturing because if for no other reason than you could spend alot of time on something and have it break in two seconds when they change the protocol or move to SSL or whatever.
    To me it just seems like not a good plan. But that's me.
    As far as you go. From a technical perspective this is about as good as it's going to get for you I think.

  • "database manager" does not show up after MaxDB install

    We have about 5 MaxDB/LiveCache installations.
    Some of them has the "start->all programs->my SQL MaxDB->database manager" , while
    some of them do not have above item.
    I think there is a PC command to bring above item visible or accessible.  Could you help?
    P.S. I have used dbmcli to confirm the livecache is  running well.

    I cannot know, but I bet there are some license things your company has to check until you can access that area.
    Maybe the contract of your company was bound to a different DBMS until now?
    Meanwhile you can just download the software from SDN - it's the same software, it's just that it may not be the latest build.

  • SQL Server programming with java

    Hi all,
    i am about to developpe a java application that has to do the following tasks:
    1. detect all SQL server existing databases .
    2. for every database (SQL server database) be able to connect to the chosen database and detect all the tables Regarding every SQL server database.
    for the first point ,i thought about searching my hole system for the files of SQL server databases with the criteria of its extension (.SQL serverEXtension database file). But i don't know if this method is efficient and if there are not other methods for this purpose ?!
    for the second point i'm wondering if there exist methods or Classes that return the Set of all the tables within a given SQL server database ; and also return the Set of the Fields (Attributes )within this given database.
    It remains one important point: how to connect to a SQL Server database from a java Program.
    I'm waiting for your hints and ideas... Thanks indeed.

    Once you have the address and the port connection is via JDBC and an appropriate driver.
    Finding servers is much harder and is not necessarily guaranteed. SQL Server must have a discovery method. That would be best. You could research it or probably just seplunk it by running ethereal and seeing what Enterprise Manager does when you start it up.
    Querying for databases and tables requires that you have a valid user, with the correct permissions and probably at least one valid database.

  • PL/Sql concurent program in Oracle 10.7

    Hi
    I am creating a PL/SQL concurrent program in Oracle version 10.7. I need to write some messages to the log file. I know this can easily be done in 11i using FND_FILE.
    In 10.7, I am trying to use UTL_FILE. I get the logfile name from FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS using following cursor:
    SELECT logfile_name
    FROM fnd_concurrent_requests
    WHERE request_id = fnd_global.conc_request_id;
    This gives the correct name, when i try to open the file for writing after parsing, i get an error. The system is not able to open the file in Append mode, when i open the file in read mode, it does not give any errors.
    Same is the case for the outfile as well.
    Is it possible to write to the log file in 10.7. I used the append mode, since the concurrent manager also write to the same file.
    Any pointers ?
    thanks and regards

    utl_file_dir = * --> This is valid and can be used, but its not recommended to use it since it makes any directory accessible to the UTL_FILE function. Instead use utl_file_dir = path1, path2, .. etc (use an absolute directory path).
    I am not sure about 10.7, but for 11.0.x you have to verify that APPLPTMP is included in the setting of the utl_file_dir. Once you change this, restart the concurrent manager and make sure that the user who start the CM has read/write priviliges on APPLPTMP and utl_file_dir.
    You can verify that the PL/SQL runs properly for reading/writing from/to utl_file_dir from SQL*Plus

    Thanks.

    Can you put your coding between code statements, like shown in the FAQ. It will be easier to read.
    Looking at your script, my first guess is that crontab will not find your sqlplus since your script does not have $HOME/bin in the $PATH. From what I understand, running .profile in your script will not work either because variables are exported to sub-shells, not to the shell above. You can call your script with a dot like . ./script which means that the script will run like it was typed at the command prompt. But it will be less confusing to define appropriate variables in the script. eg.
    ORACLE_SID=my_instance_name
    ORACLE_HOME=/my_path_to_oracle_home_directory
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib
    PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
    I remember some slightly different way of coding to handle the sqlplus return codes.
    For instance:
    sqlplus -s /nolog > /dev/null <<-EOF
    connect system/manager
    @ssm.sql
    whenever oserror exit failure
    whenever sqlerror exit failure
    EOF
    sql_err=$?
    if [ $sql_err -ne 0 ]; then
       echo "FAILURE"
    else
       echo "SUCCESS"
    fiThe - in -EOF supresses tab's
    Using connect will prevent ps from showing your login credentials
    In some versions of bash the ending EOF needs to be at the beginning of the line to work.

    Btw, if you "source" a script running it like . .script, than an exit in that script will log you out.

  • How to restore SQL Server 2008 database to SQL Server Express 2012

    How to restore SQL Server 2008 database to SQL Server Express 2012.
    I BACKED UP a SQL Server 2008 database from work, which runs the enterprise version of 2008, and I tried to RESTORE it to my new 64-Bit home PC which is running the new SQL Server Express 2012 64-Bit (Advanced Edition).
    But if fails. I get the following message text.
    Can anyone help me please. I thought restoring a 2008 database to the later version 2012 would be possible.
    Here is the error message. Thanks.

    Are you sure your database is SQL server 2008 from error message it seems your SQL server version is 2000.I guess you have multiple versions of SQL server.
    AFAIK you cannot restore backup of SQL server 2000 to 2012 directly .Restore it first to SQL 2008/2008R2 or 2005 then take backup again of new database created and then you would be able to restore it on 2012.Its kind of intermediate way
    Also make sure your DB size is less than 10 G as max DB size supported by Express edition is 10 G and if your DB size is more than 10 G restore will fail.
    You are also trying to restore enterprise DB backup on express edition so you will loose enterprise features on express edition
