I am still covered w/ warranty

they told me it has dents that I need to fix for $300, what should I do?

My ipad2 suddenly turn black and wont even show the apple logo. I can still hear the sound of my facebook... it just wont show the screen, I am still covered of 1 yr. warranty and sent my ipad to apple but they said it has a dent that needs to be repair for $300. What does a cosmetic problem got to do w/ my black screen. My warranty will expire in a week.

i have a great big line going through my ipod please help if u know wat is wrong with ti or if it is still covered under warranty i ahve only had it 4 about b2 months

    1. You shouldn't just keep any iPod you find. You should turn it in to the local police department.
    2. If it's been run over by a van, there's probably not much you can do with it. Apple definitely won't cover it. You can try a place like iPodResQ, but it might not be worth it. It's $105 to replace the screen, and after being run over by a van I'd be surprised if there was no other damage.

  • My iPhone 4s fell down and the LCD turned blue and black stripes line, is it still covered by the warranty?

My iPhone 4s fell down and the LCD turned black and blue stripes and the warranty is still active.
My question is, is it still covered by the Apple? How to fix it without changing the LCD?

Accidental or wilful damage is not covered by Apple's standard or extended warranty. AppleCare + does cover this kind of damage for a small fee.
When taking the phone to Apple for repair Apple will not replace the faulty part. They replace the whole phone. However some stores may offer screen replacements.

  • I purchased I phone 5 from USA covered under Apple care  . I'm in India now. Wake/sleep button not working. Apple care here have refused to replace or repair it though it is still under international warranty. Feeling harassed. Can some one help.

Is there an "APPLE STORE" in India or you just went in a reseller store?
There is a replacement program for sleep/wake button for free. Just look for an Apple Store and make a reservation at Genius Bar.
I have an iPhone 5, bought in Dubai U.A.E.
It is a US model (model A1428) which is different of the model use here in Italy/Europe
My serial number is qualified for battery replacement program.
I thought the Apple Store wouldn't repair my phone because I bought it from another country , a different model and it is already out of warranty.
The Apple store's staff just checked if my iPhone's serial number is eligible for the program and he replaced the battery for free today.

  • IPhone showing no warranty when it is still covered

My iPhone 4 was recently replaced by apple and still had at least 10 months worth of warranty left. After it was replaced I checked the apple warranty online via the apple website and it says it is no longer covered. I do not have the original receipt with me and am wondering if there is anything I can do. I'm worried it won't be covered if anything else goes wrong. Is there anything I can do?

Call Apple 1 800 My Apple and have the advisor check your warranty. If you can prove your device was still covered they can change that in the system by transferring the call to the right department...

  • Am I still covered by apple care ?

AM I still covered by apple care ?

That one can be buggy or it may only work during the first year warranty. I get a constantly churning gear from that, but this one works.

If that still doesn't do it, call Apple and ask to speak to Agreements Administration.

  • Am i still covered?

i just received a new replacement iphone 3g about 1-2 weeks ago for a vibrate switch that broke off. well it broke off the new one again. am i still covered? i checked online and my warranty goes until the 11th this month. But will they cover it because its the 2nd time this has happened?
    thanx for the help!

I can't answer for what Apple will do - you won't receive another exchange under warranty if it is determined that it was caused by accidental damage, but an exchange under warranty provided within the last 90 days of the standard one year warranty period includes a full 90 days of coverage under warranty. If you plan on using this iPhone for another year, you may want to consider purchasing the AppleCare extended warranty, which extends the standard one year warranty by an additional year and can be purchased and activated anytime before the standard one year warranty expires.

  • 2nd replacement is broken - is it still covered?

    Hi all,
My second replacement iPod now shows the unhappy iPod icon after freezing on a song and being reset, so I think it needs a replacement. Its not quite been a year since I recieved the replacement (23rd Sept 2005), but its been over a year since my original purchase. Does this mean my year warranty is out of date or still covered? If I do have to pay for a service, how much is it likely to be?
Is there any recommendations for solving the problem without having to send it off?

There's a post here about the sad iPod icon.

The warranty on replacements is for 90 days or the remainder of the original warranty whichever is the longest.
Apple's out of warranty service charge is $249.
Yes, you read that right. : )
There are other options like iPodResQ.com

  • Genius told me that my power adapter was NOT covered under warranty. ?????

Not too happy with my Apple store as of late. First I bring in my defective iPhone power adapter for a replacement and was told I had to schedule an appointment with a "Genius". I guess it takes a genius to plug in a power adapter and see that it doesn't work. Of course the next available appointment was 2 days away. So....I leave, make an appointment, come back 2 days later and the Genius tells me that the power adapter is not covered under warranty. Is this correct???? This is crazy. He actually told me that I could just buy another one there for $29 or find one on Ebay.
I don't even really have much use for the power adapter, but I find it very hard to believe that it is not covered under the same 1 year warranty as the phone.
    Is this true?
    Thanks.

I have had to deal with the "genius bar" for 4 weekends straight now, with one more weekend to go. All to simply get my Apple iPhone bluetooth replaced. They gave me a refurbished one which was still broken, and they didnt know how to even use their own software to do the rma. So far my worst experience with a store in a very long time and I have no plans of doing business with Apple through one of their "genius bars" ever again. Heck, I had to show the so called iPhone genius how to pair the headset with the phone. Quite pathetic.

  • I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.

I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.
I was hesitant to purchase this protection plan at first about $70, but the customer service agent reassured me that there were no deductables and thats why I bought into it. But now that I look around on the support site, I see that it says that there are up to two incidents covered for a service fee of $49. Did I really get duped?

If the issue is a manufacturing defect, there is no cost to have the device replaced.
If the issue is a result of user damage (like a cracked screen) and you have AppleCare+ Apple will replace the device for the minimal fee of $49.  They will do this up to two times during the timeframe of the protection plan.
If the issue is the result of user damage and you do not have AppleCare+ then the Out of Warranty replacement cost is $199 for the 4S.
No, you were not duped, you were simply not completely informed.  Whether that was a result of them not sharing all the information or you only hearing what you wanted, no one here knows.

  • Problem with the speakers on iPhone 4s; is it covered under warranty

The speaker on my iPhone stopped working. How to fix or is it covered under warranty?

If the phone wasn't abused or water damaged, all parts are covered by the warranty.  It's up to Apple to determine whether the phone was subjected to physical abuse - no one here can tell you.
Before taking it to Apple, try the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B:  Restart, Reset, Restore using a backup, Restore as new, without using a backup.

  • Hi, my name's Michael and I had a question about my iPod touch. I recently dropped it but I still have a warranty and Apple Support said they couldn't fix that my screen doesn't recognize my finger is on there trying to do anything?

Hi, my iPod touch was recently dropped but afterwards I called Apple Support and they told me I have a 17 day warranty for my Apple iPod Touch, so then I asked them if I could send it in to get fixed but what had happened to my iPod was that when I click the home button and try to ''Slide to Unlock" it doesn't recognize that I'm trying to do anything else the only thing that I can do is press the "Sleep" and "Home" Buttons and nothing else. Anything you can do to help me please??

Even if you were still under AppleCare warranty, it would not cover damage from a fall.
That "17 day" warranty makes no sense, though. iPods have a 1-year free AppleCare warranty for service, and 90 days for free phone support:

Apple can repair just about anything that might be wrong with your iPod, but it will cost you. Call, explain the problem, ask for a repair appointment at your nearest Apple Store (or get a case number and ask for instructions to mail it in for a repair), but get a firm quote on the repair cost before authorizing the repair (or mailing it in for repair).

  • My father's iphone will not boot. We live in Barbados but the phone was bought in the US. Is there any way to fix this, or does he need a new phone, and is this covered by warranty?

My father has owned his iphone for almost exactly 9 months. The phone was purchased in the US when he was on holiday. We live in Barbados, but the phone should still be under warranty. (please correct me if I'm wrong). He says the phone will not boot, it is inconsistent with showing how much battery life it has and it keeps looping because it's always trying to reboot. He treats his electronics very well and the phone is in perfect condition. Is there any way that this can be fixed without him losing all the information on the phone? Or can he get a replacement phone (due to the warranty issue)?

Have you tried any basic troubleshooting
    restart
    reset
    Restore

If it was originally sold in the U.S, then the warranty is only good in the U.S
