I demand a refund for an unauthorized port on Verizon Prepaid

Two days ago, I was on Verizon Wireless Prepaid website checking out their plans and comparing them to my current Prepaid Service Provider. In order to see the plans I had to put in my cellular device ESN and the number I would have ported. The moment I hit the next button I was sent directly to the porting process and Verizon started porting my number over without even telling me that it would. I called into Verizon porting department and told the rep that I DID NOT want to port my number over. The rep did not help with the matter but said that the port already went through and that I had to add funds to my account. So here I am without a phone that I NEED because I have to travel and can not be without a device. So I added the funds and called back into Verizon to demand a refund and now for the last two days I am not getting anywhere but out of pocked by $45 with Verizon. I did port back to my other carrier and had to pay another $40 just for service. Why would I want to go to Verizon for $45 when with Page Plus I can get more for less? I demand a refund as I told that agent that I did not want to port over and to cancel it. Page Plus tried to cancel on their end but it was too late. I will never do business with Verizon again. I did try calling the porting department as well as the prepaid number for verizon and all the automated thing does is hang up on me. I can't get a live rep now.

It is doubtful you will get a refund from Verizon of your $45. Verizon does not require you to enter in your number to view their plans They are available HERE and I can see all of them without providing ANY information. It appears you started the port process without fully understanding what your were doing, or possibly a case of buyers remorse.

Can I get a refund for an unauthorized app?!

Bunny Shooter appears to have a number of in-app purchases available, for additional levels and features within the game. Make sure your kids didn't purchase a bunch of these from within the app before you start filing complaints. If they did, then the purchases are completely legitimate as far as the iTunes Store is concerned and no refund would be due to you, nor would there have been any sort of criminal activity nor fraud occuring.
For the future, I'd strongly suggest you turn off In-App Purchasing and probably app purchasing completely, so that your kids can't make purchases that you aren't aware of.
    Regards.

  • How do I port my Verizon Prepaid number to a new Verizon contract?

Right now I have the $35 prepaid plan and I'd like to update to a Maxx HD, which is up on Amazon for $20 with a new contract. However, the Amazon page is telling me that my number is not transferable. I don't know what to do here, can someone help?

I am considering a new post pay account, that was exactly the point of my original post. As I said before, i went to amazon.com, selected a phone, selected a new verizon plan, and put in my current number for a port request (which is with verizon prepaid). Amazon's website informed me that my number cannot be ported, and I don't understand why. So, to recap:
    What I have:
    >a prepaid phone with verizon
    >a number that I want to keep
    What I want:
    >a postpaid account with verizon
    >a razr maxx hd
    >my phone number
    My question:
Why is amazon telling me that my number cannot be ported, when I am going from one plan to another on the same carrier?

  • HT204396 how do I get a refund for unauthorized purchase from a minor. Link isn't working as per email instructions

I received an email indicating a refund for unauthorized in-app purchases from a minor (my daughter).  I clicked on the link included in the e-mail as instructed. But the link apparently has an error.  A new window opens up but doesn't allow you to continue with the option to request the refund.  Please help.

.Was it a real Apple email? Seems strange that they would send you something based on a four year old purchase.

To try and stop it happening again you can turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off, and you should also have a Require Password setting on the Resrictions screen which you can set to 'Immediately' (the default is a 15 minute perid during which it doesn't need re-entering).

how can I get a refund for a purchase made by a minor?

You contact iTunes store support and plead your case. YOU are responsible for the security of your Apple ID and password. There are numerous mechanisms in place to make it easy to prevent unauthorized purchases. IF they agree to give you a refund, they will not do so a second time.

  • How can I get a refund for an in app purchase I did not want?

How can I get a refund for an in app purchase I did not want?
The app took over $35 from my account and there is no way this was authorized.  Please advise on how I can recover these funds.

They did the same thing to me on 12/24/11. Apple overcharged me 3 times my purchase amount and have caused my bank account to be overdrawn!
I called my bank to make a statement of unauthorized charges AND filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Apple provided no way to contact a live rep and the email reps have been useless...so they left me no other option.
I think they do this to their customers very often. It is extremely dishonest.
I actually posted the above info on this discussion community earlier today...and Apple deleted it! If that isn't an admission of guilt, I don't know what is.
    But seriously...best of luck.

  • Can I get a refund for a replacement MacBook Pro?

I recently recieved a replacement for my MacBook Pro 2011 for free since I had AppleCare. The new MBP is a Late 2013 Retina model. Admittedly, the Retina display is gorgeous, and the laptop is speedy, but...I'm not happy with it. I miss my CD drive, I miss my Hi-Res Anti-glare display, I miss all the extra ports, and I miss being able to upgrade/fix the laptop myself when necessary. So, I want to return and get a refund for the replacement, and then buy a refurbished 2012 model from the Apple's online Mac refurb store.
I was told by Apple support that I should be able to get a refund, but then they directed me to contact the actual store where I recieved the replacement. So I called the store, and they told me I cannot get a refund.
Who is correct, Apple Support, or the actual Apple Store? I am confused, and I don't want to be stuck with a MBP I don't want.

Call Apple Customer Relations - 1-800-275-2273.  Ask politely & firmly that you want to be transferred to Customer Relations.  Tell them exactly what you stated in your post.
    GOOD LUCK!

  • Both Chrome and Safari interrupt online streaming to request/demand an update for a PC program that doesn't work on Macs. What is going on?

Both Chrome and Safari interrupt online streaming to request/demand an update for a PC program that doesn't work on Macs. What is going on?

The update alerts are fake, and are intended to dupe you into installing malware or disclosing private information so that your identity can be stolen.
You might get the alerts when visiting a website that has been hacked. Don't visit the site again. If applicable, notify the site administrator of the problem, but don't send email to an unknown party.
If you get the alerts when visiting more than one well-known website, such as Google, YouTube, or Facebook, then they're almost certainly the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to those sites are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker. It's possible, but less likely, that the DNS server used by your ISP has been attacked, but you should assume that the router is at fault until proven otherwise.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.
After resetting the router, quit the web browser and relaunch it while holding down the shift key. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Do the equivalent if you use another browser. Open the Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
Then go through the router's initial setup procedure. I can't be specific, because it's different for every model. The key points are these:
    1. Don't allow the router to be administered from the WAN (Internet) port, if it has that option. Most do.
    2. Set a strong password to protect the router's settings: at least ten random upper- and lower-case letters and digits. Don't use the default password or any other that could be guessed. Save the password in your keychain. Any password that you can remember is weak.
    3. If the router is wireless, or if you have a wireless access point on the network, use "WPA 2 Personal" security and set a different strong password to protect the network. If the router or access point doesn't support WPA 2, it's obsolete and must be replaced.
During the time the router was compromised, you were redirected to bogus websites. If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
Check the router manufacturer's website for a firmware update.
If you downloaded and installed what you thought was a software update, ask for instructions.

  • Should I get a refund for this repair?

Took my dead MacBook Pro (purchased April 29, 2008) to the Genius Bar because it would not start-up. They sent it out for repairs and ended up replacing the Logic Board stating the symptom was "NVIDIA Video Issue (multiple issues)". They charged me $310 plus tax. Would this fall under the "MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues" from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377
I tried calling Apple Corporate and they said the logic board had a loose wire. Hmmm... seems weird to me since the graphic chip is soldered on to the logic board.
The invoice said the reapir was covered and showed the amount owed to me was $0. When I went to pick up the fixed laptop the associate helping me had to speak to her manager and there was some back and forth as to whether I owed anything.
I think I'll call the Apple store I took the laptop to and see if they can work with me here.

You are correct, the link you referenced applies to your model, you are due a refund.
And you're suspicions are correct, a loose wire related to graphics could only relate to cables for the display and or inverter board... however that alone would not prevent a mac from starting up and being usable on an external display.
From your description of their statement the problem is with the GPU as you suspected, if it's a GPU defect then the info in that link applies. They might try to deduct display cables or the inverter board from your refund if they replaced them aswell though.
Then again a "loose wire" might have just been the poor description from the contact you phoned, (really meaning micro-fractures in high lead solder for GPU dies).
Anyway the point is: go demand a refund.
