Not sure if this will work, but you could try the app My Contacts Backup. This will back up your contacts as an email attachement. Send the email to yourself. Then turn off contacts syncing (to erase the contacts from your phone), open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts to your phone. You will still have to go through them and remove the duplicates but at least they should not be duplicated again. (There is an app called
Remove Duplicate Contacts and Events that claims to be able to find and remove duplicates but you'll have to read the reviews in the app store to decide if you want to try it.) -

Unless somebody else has a micracle workaround I don't know. Probably get the phone in for repair since it has been living on borrowed time so far and now you absolutely must have a working button.

My iPhone is frozen. It was working find about a hour ago and then for no reason the screen went to the apple logo. I have tried to reset it and that doesnt work. When I press the power/lock button and the center key it turns off but then it comes right back to the apple logo screen and wont go any further. Please help I dont have my stuff saved and would like to keep the stuff i do have on it!!! Every once in awhile the screen will go black for a few seconds then the apple logo pops right back up! First without using the backup, in case it contains corrupt data.

Have to keep resetting my password and still doesnt work to login

Are you sure your keyboard is working? Is the caps-lock key down? Are there any unusual characters in your password?

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Downgrading is not an option for an iOS device. -

If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.

HELP! just a b & w screen with "do not disconnect" and restore doesnt work
i dont know whats wrong with my ipod, its just got a b & w version of the normal "do not connect" screen, even when iTunes hasnt recognised it being plugged in, and if i reset it, it just has that folder picture, and the aple.com/support/ipod thing on the screen, before going back to the "do not disconnect" again in black and white. and restore doesnt work, it just says some error, and quits. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong? thanks
