I have considerable problems simply turning on. The mac attempts to turn on and then once the apple symbol is there is shuts off again.....any advise?

AS soon as I turn on the the mac, the apple start up screen is intitated and then it simply shuts off. I am not sure what to do.....any advise?

.. be sure the power adpater is supplying power to your Mac. Do you see the green LED on the magnetic plug? If not, the power cord could be disconnected at the adpater block.
.. next, reset the SMC for your Mac.
.. you can try to start your Mac in Recovery mode.. as you restart, press the "R" button until it boots. And go from there.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
Do the following:

2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

When it shows the Connect to iTunes screen and you connect it to iTunes, have you tried restoring it?
This should solve your problem because the most common cause of your issue is a software glitch that is preventing your iPod from completing it's boot sequence. Restoring it will replace the software on the iPod with a fresh set so it can be used again.

Basically you put the iPod in Diskmode by
1. Resetting (Press the Menu and Center Button for 10 secs)
2. When the Apple Logo comes ON, press Center and Pause Button for 6 secs till the Disk mode screen comes ON.
3. Connect to your iTunes, and Restore to factory settings, if it prompts you. ( be patient for 5 minutes)
if it does not comes On iTunes or on your Desktop, check your Cable or change the USB port to USB 2 port Windows Desktop has these port at the back. don't use the front USB port.
If you using Laptop, read the Manual to see which port are USB 2.0, some older laptop, has only one USB 2.0 port, so that may cause sync failure.

Now it will not turn on, but has the white apple symbol turning off and on over and over. I can not find the option to restore the phone, plus the phone is not on so the computer is not registering that its plugged in. I can not call out bc no landline and can not call tech support. Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. If no joy, restore backup using iTunes.
Finally last attempt, rsetore as new and sync content back manually.

Try:

If the reset doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the device to factory settings using iTunes on a computer. If you can backup the iPad first, do so and then restore to factory settings. If it all works out properly, you can restore the backup after you finish. If you didn't or can't backup, the iPad will be erased when you restore to factory settings.

IF you can't restore that way, the next step would be to try using recovery mode.

I'm sorry to learn that your phone is having problems starting up, marinema08. I'm sorry if this is incorrect, but are you using the original HTC Droid Incredible or a later Droid Incredible model?
