I have Sent Items In Two Folders

I upgraded to Leopard. During the upgrade, my e-mail name had changed, so I changed the name of the mailbox. When I did that, I left all the "sent" items in a folder that did not show up in mail. I found the old sent files in a file, at Mail/[email protected]/Sent Messages.mbox/Messages. The new sent files are in a file at Mail/[email protected]/Sent Messages.mbox/Messages. I tried copy and pasting the old sent files into the new sent files. But they are still not showing up in the sent folder. Any ideas how these old sent files can be seen in Mail. Thanks for any advice.

Hi Ric,
I have the exact same problem - I do also have two "sent" folders.
It's like this: when I send from my web-mail the sent mails is in "sent folder 1" - when I send from the application Mail the sent mails ends up in "Sent folder 2"

Email seems to be sent, but it doesn't arrive. No 'unable to send' message, sent items and draft folders are empty. The mail disappears. I tried to fully turn off the iPad and have it restart. But it doesn't go off. I keep seeing the small white 'turning wheel' untill the battery is gone. After that, it works again (and so does the e-mail). This happens about every week. What can I do?

Anyway, as I mentioned, I don't use any sync-able email, just a very plain-jane POP email provider. iSync reports no devices and has nothing in its log, which matches my never having installed anything in need of syncing.
The thing is, if Mail says its sending something when nothing was ever sent, that's a largish bug whether it is actually sending something or isn't, and there isn't really enough info here to know which of those are the case. Maybe Mail just displays "Sending" because an attempt to do something reasonable is timing out, maybe it does an innocuous and normal POP thing using very confusing nomenclature, or maybe it's really trying to send something which has a wrong flag or something. There isn't really enough info to know what is going on, so I was hoping someone could identify the symptoms.

  • Compare number of items in two folders then move an item if same number

    Hello,
I've succesfully created a Folder Action with Automator that once an image file is dropped into a folder called "Funnel", that file will run through some Photoshop processing and then be saved in two different formats in two respective folders (let's call the two folders "A" and "B").
The problem that I'm running into is that I can't drop a bunch of files into the "Funnel" folder at once because it will bog down Photoshop. My solution to this is to create a folder called "Waiting Room" where I will dump a large amount of files. I'm trying to write a Folder Action/AppleScript that will recognize when a file (or files) have been dropped into "Waiting Room", it will then look at the number of items in folders "A" and "B" and if the numbers are the same, that means that Photoshop is done processing the last image it worked on and is free for more work. If that's the case, it will move the last item in the "Waiting Room" to "Funnel" which will then process the file. Because Photoshop will save one format to folder "A" before it saves another format to folder "B" the two folders wont have the same number of items and "Waiting Room" will not be able to transfer another file to "B" until both folders have the same number of items again. This should force it so that Photoshop is only receiving one image file at a time to process.
This is what I've done so far and it isn't working.
    I get the following error:
Please help! I'm pretty new to all of this and am guessing at the AppleScript stuff. Thank you!!!

Thank you so much Niel! I no longer get the error. The only thing is, it only processes one file and then the rest of the files just sit in the "Waiting Room" folder. I thought that writing 'return 30' would make the script check folders "A" and "B" every 30 seconds, esentially looping the script, but it isn't working. Thoughts?
Also, keep in mind that there is a short moment where the last file in "Waiting Room" has been passed to the "Funnel" folder and photoshop is doing it's thing and is about to save a version of that file in folder "A". So although Photoshop is currently busy, folders "A" and "B" still have the same quantity, so the script may want to throw a bunch of files into "Funnel" rapidly until Photoshop finally saves something in "A" and it no longer matches the quantity in "B". That's why I thought a 30 second buffer might be a good idea.
Thanks again for taking the time. Cheers!

  • Where did the sent items and other folders go? iOS 4

How to view the sent items folders in my email accounts?

  • Cannot synchronise sent items between two computers using .mac

    Hi,
I have two machines, both with fully updated OS, which I use to access my .mac email account. I cannot get the sent items to synchronise on both. On each one the emails I've sent from that machine appear in the relevant subfolder of the 'sent' folder with the paper plane icon, but emails sent from the other computer appear in a 'Sent Messages' folder within a jamesroyall.mac top level folder.
I've tried simply moving messages and then deleting the folder, and removing the whole account on the laptop then reinstating it from new, but the same thing happens. Is there any way around this? I've been through the prefs and both are set up the same way (IMAP) with all messages stored on the server except drafts.
    James

'Store sent messages on the server' is checked.
The menu option is still greyed out on the mailbox, in fact it is greyed out on all the sub-mailboxes under the top level 'Sent' folder (with paper plane icon) - I imagine because only sent items can be stored here. The same is true for the Inbox, Drafts, Trash and Junk categories.
The other 'Sent Messages' folder under the JAMESROYALL.MAC top level folder (this is the one that is automatically created and contains sent items sent from my laptop) does allow the menu options Use this mailbox for | Sent, etc. But I'm trying to get the messages out of this folder into the main one.
I'm sure it's an IMAP folder as it shows under the quota info on my MobileMe IMAP account when I control click on the folder and get account info.
    Thanks for your continued help!

  • Using POP email; the Sent items and Drafts folders disappeared; none of related replies to similar problems helped

Problem appeared after a new Thunderbird installation that followed a wipe-out bare-metal "recovery" of Windows 7 to a new disk drive. Previous user and registry files are available on a secondary disk drive if they can be used to solve this problem. I was not able to import email accounts from the secondary disk drive.

    To get old mail account info into a new Profile which has no mail accounts or not downloaded any emails;
    Locate the Profile folder:
On Windows system usually located here:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
The AppData folder is folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders, open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".
You can locate your current profile folder:
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    click on 'Show Folder button
a new window opens showing your Profile Folder.
You must close Thunderbird now - before making any changes.
Transfering data to a new Profile:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Thunderbird
Please note that you need to copy paste the 'Contents' of the Profile folder name, it usually is called xxxxxxxx.default (where the x's are letters and numbers) - not the actual Profile folder name.
Put into the new Profile folder name overwriting the files.
see image below to show you an example of what files and folders needed to be copy pasted.
    Profile Backup info:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup
If you have already set up mail account and downloaded some emails then you may not want to over write the whole profile.
But you may want to import some folders with emails from old profile.
    Download ImportExporttools addon.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
    How to install:
Tools > Addons OR Menu Icons > Addons
Click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
locate the .xpi file you downloaded and click on Open.
You may need to restart Thunderbird.
Then you can import the mbox files. these are the files that contain the emails.
Right click on mail account name and select 'ImportExportools' > Import mbox file

  • Editing Request Form - SCSM 2012 - Have an item span two StackPanels

    Hello!
I'm finding this to be near impossible, perhaps someone out there can help.
I'm trying to add a 'List Picker' object to my Service Request Form. The Default form looks like this (just for reference):
And I'm trying to shuffle Urgency and Priority down, while leaving Source where it is. I've managed to get a visual mockup so you can see below:
The problem is that I can't find a way to have the new list picker span two stack panels. I can have it easily span one stack panel (the middle, or the leftmost work fine) but it limits it to expanding only within that stack panel. I can adjust the margins
so that the list picker does span the entire width of the form at a fixed width, but if the user scales the form on the machine they are running the console on, everything looks horrible.
Anyone have any idea how to get a list picker (or an additional panel object) spanning two Stack Panels so that everything scales properly?
    Thanks!

    Hi Eli,
You are correct, the SR form does not have Stack Panels, like the IR form does.  This does make the customizations much more difficult.  When I added a field to the SR form, I just used the Authoring Tool and it was a bit challenging to get the
positioning correct.  You could always create a new tab and implement a custom control that would allow you to put in some Stack Panels.  I agree, the SR and IR forms are built differently.

  • My sent items are not in the sent folder

I went to Preferences and chose to have sent items in the folder but they are not there. Anyone have any suggestions?

Looking at the .mac mail folder, there are no black triangles, I have inbox, drafts and sent (and trash) icons.
I tested the .mac mail (I know I keep saying "this site" but I don't know what else to call it?), and using this one it does keep a copy of the sent items. BUT using the Mail (the stamp icon mail) copies of sent items are not saved.
I want to use the Mail one, because you can choose fonts and all that other stuff, which is why I even purchased the year membership! (otherwise I would just stay with Yahoo mail).
I really don't have a clue about this stuff and I appreciate you taking your time here.

    Hi all,
I have sent items in mail to auto delete when quitting mail but this is not happening. Any ideas?

  • Sent Items Folder not showing on 2 of my E-Mail Accounts

I have an iPhone 3GS and have 3 e-mail accounts incoming to it. One will show incoming, sent, and delete however the other 3 don't have sent items. Any idea why? I have Cox for my e-mail.

Although created as separate email accounts, are the 2 additional accounts alias accounts to the original or what you are calling your "default" account?
If true and completely separate email accounts, each account will have its own email address appearing as the sending email address when sending a message with the account.
If true and completely separate email accounts, each account's Sent mailbox will be created automatically after a message is successfully sent with each account. The same for each account's Trash mailbox after selecting a message for deletion that was received or sent with the account.

My email is in the "sent" folder but not the "sent items" folder. How do I know my email has actually been sent?
    Why are there two folders?

    <blockquote >
    Sent vs. Sent Items <br>
In Thunderbird, the Sent folder (located on the IMAP mail server) retains a copy of each of your outgoing e-mail messages. This is a function that can be altered in the preferences, but is most often configured in this way on the Princeton campus. '''Outlook does not recognize that the Sent folder is any different from any other e-mail folder. Outlook's equivalent of the Sent folder is called Sent Items and is generally stored locally rather than on the central mail server.''' When you begin using Outlook, copies of your outgoing e-mail messages will be stored in the Sent Items folder. The Help Desk recommends that you create a rule to send copies of your Outgoing messages to your Sent folder on the IMAP server. See Solution 9202 for instruction.

Exchange and Outlook Web App use a folder named Sent Items.''' You can synchronize the email items that you’ve sent in Thunderbird with the Sent Items folder on the Exchange server. • Outlook 2011 on MAC Sent Items folders not syncing when items are moved and deleted

Emails in the in the inbox can be moved to different folders and they will update (disappear from the inbox) on the Macbook with Outlook 2011 . the Windows PC outlook 2010, Iphone and OWA update accordingly. Sent Items that are moved on the Macbook are only
moved in the Macbook. The rest of the machines still have the email in the sent items folder and the "moved" email in the folder it was moved to.
Redid the identity and its a new install. What is next? Sent items are changed on the Macbook more often and the changes need to propagate across all the devices.

    Hi,
Do you have Cached mode enabled in Windows PC Outlook 2010? If so, please turn if off to see the result. To do this, open Outlook 2010, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings, double click your Exchange account, then clear the
Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.

  • Removing AOL folders in apple mail (saved, sent items, spam, voicemail)

    hey,
these folders are really bothersome. when i send something with my aol account, it shows in my sent section and sent mail folder
it'd be great if i could somehow delete these four folders because they are very annoying.
    thanks a lot!

Ok I solved the problem for the benefit of anybody who might find this post and have a similar problem.
The problem was I used windows mail and later windows live mail for years and they had created a lot of different folders which synced with my imap folders, my host default folders were as follows
    drafts
    inbox
    sent items
    spam
    trash
other folders which appeared in some of my accounts depending on which mail programs I had used to access them were as follows
    deleted items
    deleted messages
    junk E-mail
    Notes
    sent
    sent messages
    1) I deleted my accounts from my mac and other devices such as my iphone in mac mail this is under
Mail menu----preferences-----accounts  highlight the acount and press the minus button
    2) then I logged into my online mail account for my host, moved items from folders such as "sent" and "sentmessages" to my default "sent items" folder, they had been placed in these odd folders by various email clients and deleted those non default folders
    3) I then re set up those accounts in mac mail and highlighted the "sent items" folder in the left hand menu in each case and then went to the
mailbox menu---- use this mailbox for-----sent
    4) then finally re synced my iPhone mail accounts, now it all works and my mail accounts are nice and clean
    hope this helps someone

  • I can only see my sent items, I seem to have lost my inbox

I think I must have hit a short cut some how and now I can't see my inbox, all I can see are my sent items. It's as though I have expanded the view on my sent box but now can't get it back to show my inbox and all my sub folders.

Your folder pane is either turned off of hidden.
To turn it back on go to the menu bar and select View-Layout-Folder Pane.
No menu bar? Press the alt key.
If that is already selected the pane is hidden. Move your mouse to the left margin of the window and watch for it to change to a double headed arrow. When it changes, left click, hold and drag to the right to uncover the folder pane.

I just went through this and it appears that my Focusrite Saffire was the culprit. I connected all the outputs on the focusrite according to the way the jacsk on the back were labeled and then set up the multichannel speaker setup to match. Then I went into STP, created a pink noise clip and panned it around, the LFE, center and rears were not in the right place.
I reconnected the hardware to match the 5.1 pan pot in STP then changed the multichannel speaker setup to match. Everything appears to be correct now but I would have loved to have been able to just assigned the output busses to correct outputs in the saffire.
Next step is to pan that pink noise around with my SPL meter to calibrate the room.
