I LOVE my Verizon service.....

I am becoming depressed by the conflicts that I am seeing all over the VZN
community. People are beginning to realize that the superior service
coverage is coming at an excessively high cost (and not just in dollars).
My company (26 years now) has changed dramatically.
I cannot trust ANY thing that is said to me regarding plans (every
iteration from CS is different).
When I read the details on the VZN web site, I am more confused and
concerned about what is being offered and what the consequences are for
signing a "contract". I KNOW that my plan price is the highest in the
industry (show me any other provider charging more).  I know that the
contract is iron clad on the VZN side. I know that the CS family is being
threatened with job loss due to consolidation with other help-desk
providers. I know that my long time membership in the VZN community has no
benefit (financially, service wise or otherwise).  I am openly admitting my
stupidity by having laid back and allowing my service provider to dictate
what I can do, how I can do it and what it will cost.
In most other industries, SERVICE providers follow the customer's request.
I see Blackberry folks leaving/complaining about the lack of support.
I see unlimited data folks being tricked out of their plans.
I see instruments being sold for premium prices.
I see (Known bad) insurance companies aligned with VZN to rip off customers
I see Nexxus owners complaining about a lack of updates/support.
I see iphone owners concerned/complaining about excessive data usage -
unaccounted for.
Every regional and most national providers offer unlimited Talk/text for
about 25 bucks per month (single line, total cost)
Several (a majority) of providers offer the addition of unlimited data -
for 25 bucks/line or less.
I am trying to understand the logic of any provider doing other than the
above.
I am trying to to justify MY logic of sticking with a provider who appears
to be sticking it to me.
Other than the routine (removed) responses of - if you don't like it,
leave it. (Get rid of the trouble maker, outspoken folks) - - - Can anyone
provide a specific set of reasons why ANYONE of average intelligence or
better would allow themselves to be subjected to this - and then brag about
it!
I have luck in my area, several (6) service providers offer perfect
coverage (ya, Republic/Sprint too).
All of those providers offer lower priced plans for the same or more
product.
What am I missing here?

I have done all of the above. I have 4 iPhones and have an old plan actually. 2 of my lines still have unlimited data. I just think that the cost of 4 lines at 320 a month is very expensive. I have researched and researched Verizon and other carriers. I went into the store and spoke with an associate. He informed me of a couple of options that would sort of save me money but extend my contract or have to pay full price for phones over a period of time. In reality not saving me money at all.  So what are my options from here?
Seems like I remember a time where Verizon placed emphasis on customer loyalty and retention. I know technology cost money but it seems like prices of cell service should be going down not up, especially in todays economy. I will and always have said Verizon by far has the best service and customer service, at least in my opinion.

    I took a plan called FiOS freedom bundle offer. It costs  $ 94.99 when I ordered, but later I came to know that is excluding taxes, that is fine so the total expected was some where around 105 to 110 $. But how great it worked for me... I haven't paid that less amount till now. see how much I paid till now...

    Whenever I call the customer care to ask clarification they will tell "**this will not be charged from next month". But there will be no answer why that was charged.     $200 worth of Best Buy gift Card and
    Take away all the additional options in my package and give me the bundle offer bill I ordered $94.99 + Taxes. I wont encourage paying not even one dollar more than that.

    3. Because you're no longer with Verizon Residential you will have different billing with Verizon Wireless. That includes an activation fee when you create new lines of service as well as being billed one month in advance. This would reflect on the very first statement you received from Verizon Wireless.
    4. If your cell phone and Home Phone Connect are showing on two different accounts, one line may have been placed on a sub-account. If you wish you can request that the two numbers be consolidated onto one account.
    The next time you post, it would be easier to understand what you wrote if you would not type in all CAPS AND separate your individual concerns into paragraphs.

  • Do NOT sign up or Verizon Service!!!!!!

    I really have no question just really hoping that maybe someone considering Verizon for service maybe saved from making that mistake!!! We have had Verizon for YEARS!!!! Just recently moved called to get everything set up for themove, at the end of the conversation I was very happy with the ease it was to set up transfer....NOT!! We were having other services hooked up that were dependant upon our Verizon services being on...so after talking to the rep we actually transferred our service the DAY BEFORE we actually moved. Well next day upon arrival it was not on so we had to rschedule the Alarm and Cable to come back out at a later date. Which ment extra fees for us, I called Verizon and there commentfor me was "well we can't help that it is not on that is beyond our control (really??) So this is a Friday and I was told the soonest that they could have someone out would be Tuesday of the next week...WOW that is ustomer service. Since this point it has been nothing short of downward slide! After Verizon came on Tuesday the man that did our installation informed us that the wifi box we had would not work but he was just going to swap it out with the one we needed, being that we had already had so much trouble. Our first bill came in and oh boy the fees on it made my head spin and I truely believe I could have spit FIRE at that point. The price I was told we would pay for phone and internet was $54.99 a month....well to my surprise we were being charged $101.00 oh and don't let me foget we were charged an early termination fee of $180 an equipment fee of $60 plus a partial month for our first month at the new home and ending fees for the house we moved from. I called and yes I was extremely upset, and to my luck I was connected to a man named Frank. Frank spoke to me as if he was above me and even suggested that I have my husband cal totake care of this because "men are a little better with these things jst as women are better with tending to kids and kitchen type things" NO I DON'T think so I am not the person that is going to tae that, so I told him to transfer me to a supervisor immeditely! His response was "No that isnot necessary if you would jut choose to understand that you are not right on this subject" I then DEMANDED he transfer me, so he placed me on hold and came back and said " I put you in line it will be at least a 45 minute wait" and disconnected from me. I waited about 10 minutes and hung up and called back and when conneced to an employee named Jontavia she appologized, I told her that I want him reported for the derrogatory way he spoke to me, shesaid she would notate th account but had no way of connecting me since she did not now what callcenter he was at. Jontavia did take care of the early termiation fee but she was going to have to put the rest in for her supervisor to approve, prior to hanging up I asked for her extension in case I had more problems. She told me that she did not have that but would give me her "Z number" and told me that her supervisor would call me back wihin 24 hours. Yesterday was 2 weeks and I decided to call back, I asked to seek to Jontavia and offered her Z number BUT guess what they have no way of connecting me....so I chewed out another employee after I tried to explain to her the whole story and her response was " I am not Verizon, but from looking at your account I will not be able to assist you until your account balance that is 2 days past due is brought current,,,,,,and here I sit waiting for ANOTHER supervisor to call me back. ****Do your self a favor RUN from this company! they have absolutely no care for their customers they just pass thebuck around ad around*****

  • Cancelling Verizon services..​..

    I just got off the phone with Verizon customer service after I learned that my bundle price that I am paying $124.99 for has been reduced by $20 per month.  I am a loyal customer of 6 years and they won't give me a discount because I already received one over a year ago.  They actually told me to call back in a couple months to see if I can get a discount.  I would rather switch to a competitor's bundle package out of principle as I disagree with this type of business practice. 
    Verizon you really need to get in sync with your loyal customers because you are losing one as soon as TimeWarner can setup an install at my house!  You would rather lose $160+ a month from me rather than giving me a discount...that is not smart business.
    Your customer service made it very aware that I was under contract for 2 months still and if I wanted to cancel I would have to pay a $60 cancellation fee.  That is just fine with me because TW is offering a $200 gift card for switching.

    As long as the old account was in your name, you should be able to have Tech Support "repoint" it for you. It essentially takes the username from your old account and sticks it on the new one.
    If that doesn't work, you *may* be able to escalate a ticket to have it released for re-use. Usernames and aliases are only supposed to be locked for 180 days (~6 months) after deletion. If it hasn't released already, there may be something systematic causing the problem.
    There are options for contacting Verizon's Tech Support on their Contact Us page. I've had good experiences with the chat support, but if you prefer an actual voice 1-800-VERIZON should get you where you need to go.

    be careful ordering any upgrade from verizon. i seen offer for valued customer to get the quatum internet 30 day trial and $10 more after. i asked do i need a new router was told no we see your router is current. thinking okay? i wasnt home much the 1st or 2nd week so when day 22 came i knew nothing was faster in fact it seemed i would be happier with the old phone net.  mailing a letter through the post offce was faster. when i called and said take off this crap and put my old stuff back they couldnt because that was obsolete. it was 23 days later and gone? i could lower then orignal speed though? verizon opperate just like any tele marketing company.

  • Verizon service absolute worse experience

    Verizon service is the absolute worse experience I have ever had. I had an appointment. The window was from 8 to 5pm and no body showed up. When I call an hour wait in the phone to get anyone. Nobody has an explanation why.  Now I am told no body can come out to repair my internet for several days because the next appointment is not until Friday . One person tells me the window is again 8 to 5 pm. Calling again I am td the appointment is at 6:55pm. Nobody there knows what's going on. . The only answer is find another service .

  • Third Party Soliciation to change my Verizon service

    I received a solicitation on my home landline to change my Verizon service.  The offer was 1/2 of what I am currently paying.  I asked if the particulars of the offer could be emailed to me and I was told no.  The person calling had the email address associated with my Verizon account.  Is this a legitimate solicitation or has something been hacked?

    I am considering buying a pet tracker that relies upon Verizon cell network coverage to operate.  I am aware that Verizon service is coming to Alaska, but will this device operate now.  http://www.pettracker.com/     Tagg pet tracker

    Verizon Wireless only has their 4G LTE network in Alaska. It doesn't have any of their voice 1xRTT network there. In looking at the website you posted, the tracker uses the 1xRTT network from Verizon Wireless. Since Verizon Wireless doesn't own the frequencies for their 1xRTT network in Alaska. I believe the local cellular carrier does. If and when Verizon Wireless does introduce their voice network in Alaska, it will likely be a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) network. The pet tracker company might want to start working on a device that connects to the 4G LTE network soon. Verizon Wireless will eventually shutdown the 1xRTT network and re-farm it for 4G LTE. That is their future plans as they have stated in past press releases.

    No, you would be starting a new line of service. You can start it as a month to month service with the old phone or purchase a new phone with a new two year contract.

  • Moving to new apartment that doesn't have verizon service

    I'm a disabled paraplegic confined to a wheelchair living on disability fixed income and cannot afford to pay ETF that Verizon said they would charge me. The apartment community I'm moving to does not offer Verizon service. I have verified that it is out of their service area. I have no choice but to cancel my service with Verizon. Can someone help me to avoid paying an ETF? Customer service was no help in dealing with my request for reasonable accommodation based on my limited financial inability to pay.

    Run the installation and use your existing Lightroom 5 serial number. This serial number has 24 numbers, the first four are 1160.

  • Need help with phone. Verizon services stopped working????

    My phone was working perfectly fine today until it said that my Verizon services have stopped working. My account is up to date. I have already restarted my phone numerous times and it still says the same thing. Also went back to factory settings.

  • I want to suspend my verizon service. However, the service is not available at this time.... Could you help me to address this problem?

    I suspended my verizon service for last 3 months and it has been reconnected few days ago. But I want to re-suspend the service for 3 more months. As far as I know, I can suspend the service up to 180 days. How can I re-suspend the service? The web shows "the service is not available at this time" for every time i attempt to suspend the service. How can I resolve the issue?

        I'm sorry you're having issues with suspending your line dyoung_lee.  For each line of your account, you can only suspend your service for up to 180 days in a 365-day period. Have you suspended your before in the past  year? Your line can remain suspended for up to 90 days.
