I'm ticked off with Blackberry​!

I had to buy a new phone in June less than a month before I was due an upgrade.  Oh well, that isn't what I'm ticked off about.  I decided to get a Blackberry 8360 because Blackberry was supposed to be the best.  I've really liked it up until now.  I decided to get the insurance just in case.  Well, my rolling thing (I have no idea what the name of it is!) kept trying to come out starting around a month ago.  I just kept pushing the silver ring back down.  Yesterday, the entire thing came out.  I don't use AT&T, but that was the only cellular store in my little town.  I took it by there hoping they could put it back in for me.  They were going to, but they said they the part would need to be replaced.  They didn't have any in stock.  They also said that everyone with that particular phone was having trouble with that part of the phone.  I called my company today, Cellular South.  They said I needed to file a claim with the insurance department.  They said they would mail me a new phone, but I had to pay $150 to replace it.  Why should I have to pay to replace it when it is Blackberry's responsiblity to fix it because it's a problem for everyone with that particular phone?  I'm going to have to drive to a Cellular South store today and hope that they can replace it without having to pay $150 extra dollars for something that should have been recalled on all of these phones.  Am I the only one that has had this problem?

It happens from time to time, but not as frequently as to be a major issue.
You can search the forums using the grey search box to see that while it does
occur, it's not a design flaw.
It's pretty easy to replace on your own as well. Here is a video that shows how.

  • Really ticked off with BT wasting customer's time ...

    It's the last bit of the post which I am even more ticked off about, today BT WASTED even more of my time for no reason. 
    Here's the background though, and the reason for asking (again) for my call back.
    During last year our area (Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire) had had some significant problems and throughput was dire.  This seems to have been put right during October and 6 Mb/s is now available to me (even though I am only about 500 yards from the exchange - still not what it should be is it, but it's acceptable.)
    Whilst I was actually on the 'phone complaining of poor throughput during September (often less than 0.5 Mb/s) and asking when normal service could be restored I was actually disconnected from the BB service whilst there were engineers at the exchange.  This had happened a few times and I expected reconnection within a few hours.  
    It didn't happen.
    I was then told over the next three weeks the problem was mine (which I knew it wasn't), that it was my line, my equipment, my modem, my computer and anything else they could think up during many calls which lasted much longer than they should have.
    I had been running diagnostics locally, had put on a brand new modem, changed the filter again (I have loads of new filters it saves dusting), used my laptop, brought in ALL my neighbours kit (including the hub) and excluded all of my equipment and faults potentially at "my end"
    Still BT refused to take ownership of this problem and the disconnection problem continued until a level 2 called Devashish and his manager Abishek took ownership of the problem, listened and looked at the diagnostics and had the problem fixed within 10 minutes of calling.  All credit and many thanks to them both, particularly Devashish.
    I have logs of calls which total more than 20 hours talking to BT about this problem, diagnostics which were run over and over and over also taking many hours plus the time shifting kit from place to place in order to eliminate BT's accusations that the problems we at my end.
    All completely unnecessary.
    I subsequntly asked on four separate occasions for this matter to be addressed and each time I was told I would receive a call back - it hasn't happened. 
    Today, I contacted the complaints department on the live chat utility - I was on there for 45 minutes asking politely for the operator to contact the manager in question and get my call back.  I did not want to go through the whole unnecessary saga again with a new BT person.
    Here is the transcript with the operators name changed, her name is Melanie.  I do not think I should embarrass her by putting in the full name.  I have also changed my full name to reflect just Hilary the customer.
    So - another 45 minutes+ of my life wasted on something this simple.  Thank you BT (not)
    Along with all the other customers with problems with BT that are not of their own making, I send a thumbs down and boo.  It simply is not right, fair or ethical to do this to customers who have no other option but use BT.

    I thought I'd post an update here, as a month has gone past since my original post.
    Sean and I have become pen-pals, fallen in love and eloped with the children and the dog.  
    (Well we haven't in fact, but we have exchanged 25 emails and for folk without any other agenda apart from getting a call back people could well talk about us lol.  This is the internet, after all....... )
    To be honest most of those mails are just half liners from me saying "still no call" with a time stamp from me and Sean trying his best to raise someone, anyone, to get this matter dealt with.
    Sean kindly accessed my file, found the person in question for call number 5 and he sent an email to them.  
    I finally did get a call (asking all over again about the throughput problems and no connection issues in September until late-ish October) on the 22nd last month from "a manager" who wasn't the original one and she's called Esther.  I am not sure but I think Sean sent several emails about this for me to get me this call back number 5, which should have happened on the 3rd Last month.  
    Just in case anyone is wondering what happened with call-backs 1, 2, 3 and 4 promised from November until the date of me using the chat thing on the 3rd January - it's anyone's guess.  
    To get one or two baddies is acceptable I suppose, but am I now on 5 and it still hasn't happened.  Or is this now number 6?  It's all too confusing :-)

    I wonder how many customers of BT broadband left in January.  Can anyone get hold of the statistics?
    Talk Talk and Sky are talking record numbers of joiners 
    BT are now advertising they don't "slow you down", but they do and they do it on purpose.  I am receiving less maximum throughput/second now than I did in 2005.  I used to get 8 mb/s all day and night and of course no limits then with AOL.   My home hasn't moved any further from the exchange and now I have a stable service from BT since October, my max. throughput/sec doesn't get any better than 6.3 mb/s - I only went back to BT as a provider in January because of promises made to me about better throughput.
    Me and the user group and the Thinkbroadband stats all know that 2012 wasn't exactly a record year for BT broadband stats locally.  How many calls were made to BT for that year from the Pembroke exchange?  Can anyone get hold of those stats?
    I don't know what else to say except to thank Sean for all his efforts.
    Will post an update when I know something, anything.

    Select one of the files, Choose GetInfo from the Finder's File menu, look for the field named "Open With", and choose Preview from the adjacent menu. Accept that ALL such files will Open with Preview, and your major problems should be solved.
    Occasionally, a particularly complex .pdf file or one that needs to be modified and re-written will not work quite right with Preview, but such issues are rare.

  • Blackberry 9900 will not connect with Blackberry Desktop (v 6 or v7). I am running Windows 7.

    I am running Windows 7, and have a Blackberry Bold 9900.  This has some music on but most importantly my work diary and contacts which I synchronise through Desktop.  I also use it as an external modem and tether my PC through it if I’m somewhere with no wireless.
    Yesterday, I did these things during the afternoon:
    ·         Connected a Bluetooth device to my PC (headphones)
    ·         Needed to load a series of drivers for Windows for this to work
    ·         Upgraded from Blackberry Desktop 6 to 7 (following prompt when connected)
    ·         Set up a Bluetooth connection between my Blackberry and PC.
    The next time I connected:
    ·         On The Blackberry smartphone I got the normal Blackberry is plugged in message, with normal options (USB Drive / Sync Media / Charge Only), and software opened as usual
    ·         But I was prompted to Connect Your Blackberry Device (with link to troubleshoot connection).  Clicking this, I was taken to a page which suggested I check the cable etc. (which I did, all OK) and “...turn off synchronization applications or antivirus applications temporarily”.  I disabled Avast, which made no difference, and I don’t know what a “synchronization application” is
    ·         Other aspects of the connection are working (i.e. I can still download photographs from the Blackberry, and still see it as the ‘F:’ drive)
    I therefore conclude that:
    ·         Cable / physical connection is good (also tried a different cable - no change)
    ·         Something I had changed had corrupted things, so:
    ·         Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop v7 and replaced with the version I had been using successfully until yesterday (v6)
    ·         Removed the Bluetooth connection to my Blackberry.
    Made no difference, so checked Blackberry help forums, which confused me more.  One thing which I did discover, was that in Device Manager, although Blackberry is visible attached to PC (and says it is working correctly), it DOES NOT appear in the list of Network Adapters (I don’t know if it did before, but one answer in the tech forum suggested this is significant – though not sure why or what to do about it)
    Any help would be very welcome – been at this for ten hours now and making no progress!

    This worked for me after several hours on the phone with Blackberry Support.  I hope it works for you too:
    Finally got it working again! Re-downloaded the desktop software (but when you start it up, make sure to uncheck the automatic update option). While that was downloading, I was instructed to go to microsoft.com and search for and download .NET Framework 3.5. Once you click to download that, there will be an offer to download 2 other items. One of which will be Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer). Click to download that too. Once they are finished downloading, run both files. .Net Framework 4 Client Profile will take longer and will ask you if you want to repair or remove. Choose repair. The repair took several minutes, but once it was done, I clicked "Finish", opened the BB Desktop Software, UNCHECKED THE AUTO UPDATE OPTION, and plugged in my phone. Once windows finished installing the drivers, Low and behold! The Desktop software recognized that the phone was connected! I hope this helps you resolve your issue as well. When it again offered me an update I clicked to update later (meaning never!). Best of luck to you.

    It is really a horrible experience with the handset of blackberry for me. I have purchased blackberry Curve handset 9300 on 22nd April from a "Phone Store”, Shop No.78,79,community centre, New friends colony, New Delhi, The Invoice No. is 319,The details of the handset are as follows:
    Handset: Blackberry Curve 9300 1256-India Qwerty-Pink
    Name: Blackberry 9300: ETA-716/2010/WRLO
    Model: RDA71UW
    It has been more than just three months ,when i purchased this handset ,It worked fine for about only fifty days from the date of purchase and from the second month ,to my shock, serious problem started in the handset and some time it was getting hanged ,sometime some keys in the keypad did not work ,some time it was getting hanged the moment I receive incoming call., sometime sms sending problem, some time some other problem ..Every time I used to switch off the phone and start again, then it used to work but after some days again there were some other problem occurring in the handset.
    The phone was not getting connected to PC from the starting, and i have tried so many times but i fail to get success.
    Many a times when I used t send sms the entire alphabet typed on sms has gone separately as a single alphabet in a particular sms to the recipient, causing embarrassment for me in my organization. I would blame the black berry for this embarrassment as this has caused due to faulty phone they have sold me,
    I am service class person and i get occupied with my work at office in the day hours and doesn’t have time to go to the service centre of blackberry every time the problem occurs, as there are only one service centre available in Delhi at Lajpat Nagar.The service centre is about 20 Kilometers away from the area my office is situated, I managed to keep the phone running by switching off and switching on after one or two minutes, every time the problem occurs but in the first week of last month ,when the problem started continuing  after  switching off and switching on also ,I was bound to go to service centre at noida since it is close to my place (about 14 Km) in comparison of Lajpat nagar at new delhi,the service engineer at blackberry service centre saw my phone and said there is some software problem which can be rectified by reinstalling the software, and there are some hardware problem also (some keys on the keypad is not et. all working) ,for which i have to surrender my phone to them and they will send it to the Blackberry Office (they did not give address) and it would take 15 days  at least ,thus since I had no back up phone and my each and every contact no. was there in phone it was difficult for me to give them handset at that time ,so I requested them to rectify the software problem by re installing the same.
    I asked the service manager to get the backup of all the data and contact no saved into the phone, but they refused to do so and they asked me to go to some other shop nearby to get the data backup, I went to that shop and they asked 250 Rupees for data backup of my phone. I was bound to say yes to them for the amount the charge for backup .I gave them my handset and after 20-30 minutes they came back to me by saying, we cannot store your data backup as it is not connecting to PC. It was a highly disappointing reply for me.
    Then i again went to your service centre and written down some important contact no.(the number which was stored on phone book) on piece of paper  and taken out my SD card ,and gave them handset for re installing the same.
    They gave me my handset after one and half hour and said" now it would work fine except hardware problem.".I came back and to my utter shock again after two three days handset was into its old condition ,then also I tried to manage with handset and when i could spare sometime I went to your service centre again on 24th July at Noida,
    they took the phone and said it would take 12-15 days to return the handset after rectifying the problem,when i requested them to change the handset with a new handset which is at least in good working condition , they clarified that if the hardware problem is not manageable or repairable ,i would get new handset had no option except to give them handset for rectifying the problem.
    Now,It is the time for a biggest shock from blackberry people-Today on 3rd August ,i have received a call from noida blackberry service centre to inform me that my handset cannot get repaired under standard warranty conditions of blackberry as there are some moisture into the phone and there is no warranty if there is a moisture inside the phone.
    Thus now i wish to inform all the concerned ,Blackberry/Research in Motion ,managers/authorities ,that i have explained above ,all the things ,happened to me in last three months of my purchase of handset, in detail ,so i would again request to Blackberry/Research in Motion ,managers/authorities, to rectify the problem of my handset or change the entire handset so that I can use the same peacefully and should not roam around the service center of blackberry.
    Giving this lame excuse that "there is a moisture inside the handset and thus it can’t get repaired or changed under warranty " is a clear case of cheating and harassing the customer, I have bought the handset to use it for my communication purpose not to roam around the blackberry service center nor to put water or moisture inside the handset and play with the handset and fight with all of you.
    If there were some moisture inside the handset then that should have been seen by the noida service centre people also during my First visit itself by them and they would have refused taking the handset for repair. They did not refuse but accepted handset and reinstalled software also, If there was some moisture that would have been seen by them that time only.
    In my second visit also the took my phone and seen the inside condition also of handset in front of me ,they did not see any moisture, that time also ,and now after 10 odd days ,there are some moisture inside the phone??????.
    I have no idea how blackberry keeps its handset ,which has come to them for repairing ,but if there is any trace of moisture into my handset ,that would have come into the handset ,during these 10 days only when phone was with blackberry authorized service engineers for repair purpose. What I know is that My Blackberry handset is under warranty and it is not working properly thus it should be replaced by Blackberry.
    On the keypad if some key are not working that is a hardware problem which was there in the handset and it has no connection with the moisture.
    If this is the way blackberry is treating its customer, i would say it is harassing its customer, and does not want to rectify the problem .in this case, I would have no option left except to go to the consumer court in Indian judiciary system. And moreover i would inform my and other friends, organizational employee also not to use services/or buy blackberry handset if this is the way BB is treating its customer.
    I would request all the concerned persons/managers/authorities of Blackberry/Research in Motion, take action into my case urgently and rectify the core problem into my handset instead of giving lame excuses, and change the faulty handset of mine with a new properly working handset under warranty condition.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 won't print if Labels ticked off on print panel

    Just deployed photoshop CS5.1 over the whole office, on various versions of mac OS from 10.6 to 10.9.  In the Output options over on the right side of the print panel, if the "Labels" option is ticked off, then the job never comes out of the printer (konica-minolta C360).  The job appears to go -- everything on the print queue looks like it is communicating with the printer, sending the data, reporting consumables that are low, etc -- just like it prints when the Labels are not ticked.  The only difference is that if "Labels" is ticked then there is no sign at the printer of the job existing.  The data light doesn't flash, the job never appears in the queue, no errors.  It's like somewhere between computer and printer it just gets lost!

  • My Win7 computer is unable to display ticked off check boxes.

    Am using the latest Acrobat version and this problem occurs on previous versions as well. When I tick off check boxes in writable forms, nothing appears in the check box. I suspect missing/corrupted fonts.
    My other Win7 computer displays ticked off check boxes without a hitch.
    Would someone have any idea of what the problem might be?
    Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    It's helping to isolate the problem.  When opened in IE9, the problem persists.  When opened in Chrome, the check boxes get checked.
    My remaining problem is to fix this on this computer for IE9, now.  I use an application where PDF  forms are created as pop-ups and Chrome doesn't work with this application.  As I mentioned before, the forms work correctly on another Win 7 computer using IE 9.
    Another mystery is that saving the IE 9 form and opening in Adobe, the saved changes, except for the check box appear.  Saving the Chrome form and opening in Adobe, the changes disappear and a blank form with highlights appears.  The check box doesn't work in the Adobe, reopened form.  This leads me to believe that something is amiss with my Adobe installation.  Possibly a clean Adobe reinstal will fix this.  I will try this later today.

  • Frustrated, irritated, disappointed and extremely ticked off 16 1/2 yr Verizon Wireless customer!!!

    This is a long one, so you might want to get comfortable! 
    As stated in the "subject", we have been with Verizon for over 16 yrs. with NEVER a change to any other service...SOLID!!!  We purchased 4 Samsung Fascinate phones at Christmas and LOVED them...until the latest update about a month ago.  From that moment, it has been nothing short of hell!!!  Dropped calls, no calls, voicemails on calls never received, failed receiving and sending of texts, email failures, internet malfunctions or no availability, phone locks up(happened before updates periodically, but not near as often)...the list goes on and on.  Probably wouldn't have noticed the issues as much had we not had FOUR...but all four of us were having problems.  After about a week or so, we went into a store and were told they didn't know anything about the issue with the phone(we had already put together the fact that it had something to do with the update!) and said they would "research" it and give us a call.  The next morning we received the call stating that "yes" there were problems with the update and that we would need to come in and Verizon was offering 3 NEW phone choices as replacements. (NOT "LIKE NEW REFURB" phones...NEW PHONES)  We went up to the store and picked the Charge...we are not "techy" folks, we thought it was the most like ours and then the sales persons tells us it is the best one to replace ours being a 4G and all and also stated she was surprised it was on the list as a "NEW" replacement...then the circles began.  The salesperson went to order them and we were told they were out of stock and that the best thing for me to do was EVERYDAY dial *611 and ask if they were back in stock at the warehouse...not that she would continue to check, God forbid there be any customer care service...but for me to do it and she handed me a "Post it" sticky with the phone listed on it and *611...I guess in case I forgot the name and #...LOL 
     I called the next day and was told, "Oh, no, we can't help you here.  You must go into the store directly."  So, I explained what I had been told and was informed that the warehouse would sent out a message to let the stores know they must handle it in-house and not let the customer call the warehouse on this issue.  I was then connected back to my local store, where apparently the call "rolled over" because it connected me back to the warehouse and that representative proceeded to tell me I had to call the store.  I informed him that I had and it had come back to them AGAIN!  He suggested I "try the store again", so I did.  And, AGAIN, it rolled over to the warehouse...I was again connected back to the store where a "precious" sales associate informed me, "yeah, we're all out of them" and also when I explained that I kept calling the store but getting the warehouse, "yeah, when we are busy or something and don't answer, it rolls over there, sorry, you'll just have to keep trying"...!!!  Then, last night while speaking with customer care Noah(who was AMAZING!!!), and after almost 2 weeks of being told that they were out of stock on the Charge phones(I'm still thinking NEW phones)...in fact, there were over 9000 in the warehouse and to let him get me connected with a technician to get these ordered out to me.  I was then connected to Kevin.  After going through my frustrations over the past couple weeks trying to get these phones, he informed that that I was again, misinformed and that they were in fact "out of stock" on these phones!  LIVID at this point, I ask how in the world can 1 minute there be over 9000 and now NONE?!?  That is when I am informed of the "like new refurbished" replacement.  I can only say I lost my mind in that second!!! 
    I realize that we are mere shads in this ginormous pond called Verizon and my tiny $280 monthly bill is nothing in the grand scheme of what is Verizon.  However, I have been a LOYAL, CONSTANT for over 16 years, spending THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of hard earned dollars with them and was happy to continue to do so until now.  I also realize that there are 2 other phone options for us to choose from...but now it's the principle of the matter.  It's one thing for me to buy a phone and after months of wear and tear, something go wrong with it and they send a "like new refurb" phone...I get that and we have used that service several times over the SIXTEEN YEARS+ we have been with Verizon Wireless.  However, this is not that same issue...I bought a NEW phone and that NEW phone was working perfectly and we were all 4 completely happy with that NEW phone until an update was sent out that made the phones completely malfunction.  I also realize that it was a Samsung update...but that is between Verizon and Samsung. 
    I think we've proven our loyalty over the last 16 1/2 yrs to Verizon...and do not feel it is unreasonable to think that they should send us NEW phones to replace this issue between them and Samsung.  In the grand scheme of that, given our long history with Verizon...they stand to make another several thousands of dollars off of us, which, I'm pretty sure would offset the cost of these Charge phones.  I know we are not the only ones having issues with this phone and feel everyone deserves the same courtesy with a new phone!  I'm disappointed that Verizon's actions with me on this issue has me questioning my loyalty and looking at my options with other carriers...I think I've proven that I don't like change...I wish they would prove they don't like customer change and step up and send me 4 new phones!

    I realize that Samsung designed the update, not Verizon...however, Verizon and Samsung have an agreement with the phones offered, therefore, Verizon accepts any updates Samsungs puts out...that has nothing to do with me, until my phone is completely jacked!
    If you read my post in completion, you would see where I stated that we have had on several occasions used the "like new refurbished" phones offer on our phones.  This is exactly what we are doing now, except it was never stated to us in THIS instance that it was "like new", we were told "NEW"...however, it is irrelevant as being "like new" when there are none in stock to replace ours with.  That was one of my points!  At this time, with them being out of stock and us battling with them for TWO WEEKS over getting FOUR phones replaced...I feel they should send new ones if that's all they have in the options offered to us.  So your statement of them "doing us a favor" is a pile of cow dung...but thank you for the input...
    And, again, yes we still have the Fascinate because, as stated in my post, when I call *611...they cannot help with this issue...it has to be handle in the store and they say the warehouse is "out of stock" and we should just keep calling back everyday...

  • Very Very frustrated and ticked off!!!

    I am right now very very ticked off, I recently made a video, and imported it to Quicktime using expert settings and whatever, and keep on trying to upload the video on Google Video, Yahoo, and YouTube, and nothing seems to work! Either it takes a second to upload on each one, than a day later says something I did wasnt right with the technical specifications or it takes like 4 hours and not even done uploading...
    So anyone with personal experience with this, please tell me all the specifications on either Google or YouTube, not Yahoo.... Or tell me something I have done wrong, I will reward anyone with either a 'Solved' or 'Helpful'...

    Does your file have a file extension? Like Movie.dv?

  • IPad email conflict with Blackberry

    If my blackberry is on and receiving email my iPad will not display the full message received or show the attachments.
    If I turn off the Blackberry and resend the message I can view the full message and attachments on the iPad.
    How do I fix this?

    The bridge goes through and the icon appears on the playbook, but if you try to open the BBM the mesage "you must accept BBM agreement on smartphone comes up.  If you try to access the messages it times out same with the contacts or a lock comes up.  If you try text mesages it states it is disabled by IT policy. 
    If however I do not have the enterprise email installed all work fine.

    I have received yet another email from the mods today. SO I will make this very clear on this board so people can see exactly what I am stating.
    I have the replacement hub hich I clearly stated I did NOT want as there was no fault with the existing hub.
    I have a returns bag as sent with the replacement hub.
    I DO NOT HAVE A POST OFFICE NEAR ME AND CANNOT GET TO A POST OFFICE IN THEIR OPENING HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER RETURNS BAG SENT TO ME, I WANT YOU TO SEE SOME SENSE AND GET ONE OF YOUR PASSING BY 'ENGINEERS' TO PICK IT UP.
    OR ACCEPT THAT IT CANNOT BE RETURNED.
    I am a contractor and do not get time off with pay, thereofre for me to get to a Post Office in their openiong hours means I have to lose money for an item that should not even be with me in the first place.
    Is this now simple enough for everyone to understand?????????????????????
    You want it back then send a courier. There will be no attempt to charge me for this product even though at this date you have not mentioned this. However, take this as advanced notice, any excess payment taken from my bank account will be met with sever action against you....with plenty of bad publicity!

    Dont bother BT would just scrap it any way I think they only send the envelope to meet their recycle obligations
    just stick it in a dark cupboard for a few months as a spare for when you need one and as its a hub you will need one

  • Z10 BBM account not associated with Blackberry ID email address

    BBM was operating just fine until yesterday afternoon. I began receiving "BBM setup" prompt. The Blackberry ID is not being recognized which then throws an "email address not vaild" prompt. Then there is a "Temporary Server" error.
    I have edited and adjusted my Blackberry ID as well as resetting the password. These changes seem to make it to the device itself, as indicated in the Settings/Blackberry ID field.
    IF my contacts BBM me, I do see the entry in HUB (first line only). IF i try to reply, the BBM setup screen launches again - only to fail on the email address associated with the BB ID. All other BB services seem to be working fine.
    It is disappointing to have issues like this with flagship software on a brand new device.
    Any ideas on a fix for this?

    I did not lose my contacts but my carrier support could not confirm prior to executing the above steps.
    I believe the reason your carrier is handing off to Blackberry on this is because the Blackberry ID is managed by Blackberry, not the carrier (I am not 100% on this). As such, they can't authenticate the BBID. That can be handled directly by the user here: http://ca.blackberry.com/bbid.html. Permission issues are always a pain.
    IF BBM won't behave following the solution that worked for me, I would call your carrier one more time and ask them to escalate the service tag to Blackberry. Without the service tag, its tough to get action. This allows the carrier to hand you off and creates the support trail needed for effective resolution. Push to get the service tag.
    In my experience on this, there was enough "grey area" for all support techs involved that Blackberry would be well suited to increase the knowledge base/training/support  to provide a smoother resolution. When support tells the user that the main messaging platform, for the top end device, won't function and "there is nothing we can do about it", I believe the user has not been serviced appropriately.

  • Blackberry is stuck on start screen with blackberry logo and 3/4 loading

    Hey,
    My blackberry messengers were not going through so i restarted it, after turning it back on it wouldnt load. 
    Now its been 3 hours and its stuck on the same screen with the blackberry logo and it loads 3/4 and then stops there. I called rogers tech support, and they said i have to reinstall os but when i try to do that and open the blackberry desktop manager and i connect it to my phone, it says that its waiting for device to start. 
    It wont load it though .. I dont know what to do Please help

    Turning the phone off with the red phone key then restarting it will do little to nothing to ever correct a problem.
    Make sure your phone is turned off.  Turn it on again.  Once the status bar starts moving, remove your battery then replace it a few seconds later.
    Let us know if that does the trick.

                       Hi, I'm using ISE 1.2.0.899 patch 1,2,3,4, and I am trying to use guest portal on blackberry 9700.
    I verified that I am able to do 802.1x with blackberry.
    I associated to ssid, and opened web browser, and I can see the guest portal.
    However, when I clicked on "don't have account?" to creating guest ID, I could not go any further.
    does anyone know if it's supported or not ? if it's working or not ?
    I know in the network compatibility document for 1.2, there is no mention about blackberry.
    does anyone know about this ?

    Saurav Lodh, I did check the default time profile that is being used the sponsor. I even created a custom time profile to rule out any timeout on the Guest account, but even with the custom profile time the Guest account times out between 7 to 10 minutes and asks to re-authenticate again. I don't know if there is another place to look out for any timeouts, or is it maybe a bug with this version of ISE, but I couldn't find anybody else having this same issue which makes me think that it has to be a setting that is causing this problem.

    If you have a credit card on file on top of your gift card then it is asking you to confirm the security code for the card, which for a Visa or MasterCard is 3 digits located on the back, or AMEX has 4 digits on the front.  This happens just to ensure that you are the account holder, and would happen from time to time whether it was a free or paid app, even if you have a credit through your gift card.  This doesn't mean that your credit card will be charged.
