I switched from iPhone 4 to Android Galaxy 4S.

I switched from iPhone 4 to Android Galaxy 4S. I am not receiving all group text messages from iPhone users. I unregistered my iPhone from my apple profile. Sms and MMS are on on all devices. One person has to double tap the send button to send to me as a text. The others are just not coming through to me. They all receive my messages, but I get none of the replies.

Try these two tips (copied from other thread and apple support)
Let's get this resolved sbash! Please ask the sender of the message to try below options....
1. Log into iCloud and remove my old iPhone from my profile.
2. Reset the password on my apple ID so that any other ios device that used "my profile" would be forced to re-sync.
3. Remove the phone from my support profile, log in and remove the phone.
Go to your support profile, remove the iphone: http://bit.ly/17RD5sY
Also, go into your iTunes account and remove the iMessage settings from your phone number. On the iOS device, go to Settings>Messages>and click the Send as SMS button ON (make the button green). Ensure you have turned off iMessage on your old iPhone and erased the entire text thread between you and your contact you can't receive from. Have your contact erase their entire text thread from you as well, power off/on both phones and test. If you no longer have your iPhone to do so you will need to contact Apple Support. Please keep me posted. Thank you.

Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

  • Switched from iPhone to Android and now iMessage being sent instead of Text

A friend of mine recently switched from iPhone to Android and now my text are being sent as iMessage instead of text and he obviously isn't receiving it. How do I fix this bug. I'm using iPhone 4 running iOS 5

I apologize about the odd style but I'm using voice rec software.  I just got the Galaxy S five and I have this problem too after weeks of searching online I finally figured out the problem it is with iMessage even if you have your old phones imessage switched off. you have to get your friends to text you normally and send. If the text bubble shows up blue, press and hold choose option send as SMS or text and the bubble will change to green green means SMS blue is the iMessage so its up to the iPhone user to take literally a half of an extra step to send a text to you and if they don't do that then they're just jerks

  • Switching from Iphone 5 to Galaxy s5--iMessage issue

I recently switched from my iphone5 to my galaxy s5. I am unable to receive messages from other iphone users due to imessage, I am able to send and they do receive them. Those receiving messages are unable to send messages to me at all. With the message "Message could not be delivered" listed for them. I have attempted the following: Removing my icloud, disabling imessage from my phone, backing up the phone and doing a full reset/restore after imessage had been disabled, had the receiving user delete the message thread and start a new one. Any suggestions?

  • Problems Switching from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S4

I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung. Why do people with iPhones continue to have problems texting me. They tried deleting my iMessage streams and re-entered my phone as a mobile. They still get error messages. It's been a week since I got the Samsung.
By the way, I have deactivated my iphone number on the Apple ID website.
    ITH

Unfortunately I have turned off iMessage from my iPhone and have called in to deregister. It's been almost 24 hours and it's still not working correctly. The HUGE issue is that I've basically been told "it will eventually start working". Well, I didnt pay you have the money and tell you I'd send the rest when it started working. You are a huge company dealing with another huge company. I PAID THE MONEY AND YOU TOOK IT BUT THE PHONE IS NOT WORKING THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO. If you cant make a device work, you should not be selling them with the assumption that you can use it when you pay right then. There are so many forums and threads about this problem but yet nobody mentioned it at the verizon store. I will not be a customer by this evening is this doesn't resolve. This is **** poor business and terrible communication about switching devices. The largest network is doing a great job of pushing me back to AT&T. Rediculous!!

  • Switching from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S4 and Fixing the Problem

Hopefully your search engine will send you to this message before all the other ones. Here is step by step what I did:
    1. Went to Verizon Wireless to get new phone
    2. Turned off iMessage on the old iPhone
    3. Disassociated my old iPhone from my account online at this link: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
    4. Removed my iPhone from the iTunes Store. (Go to iTunes-->iTunes store--->Account (left hand side)--->Manage Devices--->Remove the phone)
    5. Called Apple (1-800-694-7466) and had them remove/disassociate my phone number from the old iPhone. They told me it would take up to 24 hours.
    6. ON THE NEW PHONE, texted "Stop" to 48369 and received a message that I was unsubscribed and would no longer receive messages.
    7. Texted my girlfriend to send me a test message and VOILA, it worked within minutes of talking with Apple.
I know its alot but I hope this helps everyone. The texting to 48369 from the Galaxy 4S idea was thanks to devondeal

  • Switching From iPhone 6 to Galaxy 6

So is there anyway I could switch a 64 GB iPhone 6 out for a 32 GB Samsung Galaxy 6 in the middle of my contract? I have a 2 year contract and I bought my iPhone back in December- still in perfect condition. Just really wanted to switch to the new Galaxy and I figured that since a 64 GB iPhone 6 is more expensive than a 32 GB Galaxy 6, it wouldn't cost very much to do this. Can anyone confirm this or tell me what I would have to do?

You bought iPhone 6 in December 2014, actually only six months into 2 year contract, unless you qualify for Next program, I recommend wait it out.

  • I recently switched from iphone to samsung galaxy s5 and am not receiving messages.  I have tried countless fixes but nothing has worked!

I have tired deactiving my device from icloud online, I have had my contacts delete me and re-add me as a contact.  I have also had them try deleting our entire message thread and starting a new one.  I also had them hold down message and select "send as regular text" 3-5 times.  I tried texting stop to some number  I found in another discussion thread. NOTHING HAS WORKED.  I called Apple support who claims they cannot help me.  My service provider just refers me to apple.  And now, some of my contacts no longer have the option to "send as regular text" when they hold down the messges to me!  Please, please help me!

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for the response. I contacted Apple at the link you listed and spoke with a representative. We walked through the steps I took in my first post above to ensure I had done them correctly. He didn't offer any new suggestions other than making sure my contacts turn on their MMS before texting me.
Unfortunately that is not working either. I tested this with several friends and I am still not receiving their messages. They get a response immediately upon texting me that says the message was undeliverable. They are able to receive my messages, I just don't get theirs.
    Any other ideas?
It's mind boggling that Apple has made this such a difficult transition. There should not be repurcussions for choosing to discontinue the use of their product. The only other thing I can think to do is have my service provider change my phone number... what a nightmare.

  • I have a contact that changed from iPhone to Android, but my iPhone cannot recognize the switch and continues sending texts as iMessage.

I have an iPhone and one of my contacts switched from iPhone to Galaxy phones. But now when I text them, my messages continue sending as iMessage, even though they do not have the iMessage feature anymore. The only way my texts are sending is when I turn the iMessage feature completely off on my phone. I tried holding the individual iMessage texts down and clicking the "send as text" option but then my messages aren't delivering, I deleted and re-added the number, and restarted my phone. How do I make my phone recognize it's not an iPhone anymore?

It's not something you need to fix. The other person needs to deregister their number from iMessage: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203042

You'll need to contact Apple Support if you no longer have the iphone.

  • Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons.  Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music.  Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users -  there is no notification either way that a message was not received.  So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't.  This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication.  I also have clients I have not received texts from.  My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

If you still have the iPhone, go to Settings and turn off iMessage. If you don't have the phone or if that doesn't solve the problem, contact Apple Support and request that they deactivate iMessage. https://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/
