Ichat @ work for everyone?
hello,
a friend of mine work at a company with 10 colleagues. they have a broadband-connection to the internet. they use a nat-router (linksys).
to give one colleague the possibility to do video-conferencing you only need to open the right ports on the router, but with every new macbook in the company there are more people, who want to make video-calls.
so I would like to ask, what can I do to allow this to all computers. simple nat-routers only allow portforwarding to one internal workstation...

You need to use either Port Triggering or UPnP to allow Multiple computers to use the same ports at the same time

Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

iChat works for me when I'm in the US but not in the UK. In the UK it is like watching a tape played at about 1/10th speed. I have O2 broadband (who decline to help as they "do not support third party software").

bradI don't know, but it works fine for me. I suspect changing
the keyframe was
important. But then I'm not a Flash expert. One thing you
might do is make
sure the client RELOADS the page so they're not seeing the
cached old page.
Also, the needs to be clicked twice, once to activate it, the
other to start
it. Maybe they're not doing that?
Just some thoughts.

Secure Zone password set (send log in details email) link not working for everyone
Hi Guys,
I have a site with three secure zones for different online programs. We're beginning to sell some programs and, because we aren't using a seemless gateway, we are manually subscribing them to the secure zones then clicking the 'Send log in details email' button. The email seems to be going out which is good. But, some clients can't click on the link to set their password. Nothing happens. Even if they copy and paste the link text into a browser window, still nothing.
Anybody know why this would be working for some people and not others. Could it be to do with cookies or email clients etc. We are at a loss and therefore have lost two sales so far (they asked for refunds) because they couldn't access their programs in the secure zone.

The thing is, most of the time the link text appears as a link, but not for everyone. Do you think this will fix it? -
I have recently gotten a MacBook Pro (through my highschool so it is monitored by them) and ever since I brought it home it's been having wifi connection problems. It says the wifi is working fine, it shows full bars, but when I try to connect to the Internet it acts like there is only one bar or no bars. Although every one and a while I can get a great connection but it lasts for about 10 minutes. This I do not get because the wifi works perfectly fine for everyone else in the house and for our phones too. So if anyone else could help me I would be soo happy. Thanks.
I have had the same issue and searched the forums and found nothing that helped. I contacted apple support and this is what they told me to do:
First we’ll do the SMC reset
1.) Shut down the Mac and connect to power source.
2.) Unplug external devices, flash drives, external monitors, external HD (Keep the Mac plugged into power source)
3.) Hold down “Shift” + “Control” + “Option” (On the left side of the keyboard) + Power key for 30 seconds.
*The Mac should remain powered off during the reset, the LED on the MagSafe Adapter may change colors.
**The “Option” key is also known as the “Alt” key on some Macs.
Awesome, now let’s reset the NVRAM
1.) Locate these keys “Command”, “Option, “P” & “R”
2.) Power on your Mac
3.) Immediately press and hold all 4 keys “Command” “Option” “P” “R”
4.) Listen for 2 boot chimes and then release.
**The “Option” key is also known as the “Alt” key on some Macs.

I was wondering if family sharing was working for anyone else? I set it up and the way I believe you access another family members purchases is by going to your purchase history either in itunes or in the app store. From there you can pick your purchases or another family members purchases but when I do this I only see my purchases. Am I doing this wrong or is it not working.
Also is there a way we all don't have to use the same credit card?

Why doesn't Java3d applets work for everyone?
I have a site with java3d applets:

Quite often, the visitors to the site can't get Java3d-applets to start even if they have installed Java3d.
Eventhough they have modern PC's with new operating systems and hardware. Why does this happen? I have a detailed page with descriptions on how to install it:

but still about 1/3 of the visitors have trouble getting Java3d applets to work.
This annoys me a lot. I'm considering to start program my visuals in some other language than Java3d.
It just don't seem reliable when so many people can't get Java3d applets to work. What reasons could there be for a Java3d applet to not work eventhough Java and Java3d is installed?Do the visitors with problems receive any specific error messages?

Is FaceTime not working for everyone else or is it just me?
My facetime is being very weird, for the past three days it has gone between working and not working, at first it wouldnt allow me to connect to a call, it would just say "call failed" and other days it did allow me. I spent TWO hours on the phone with apple support and NO ONE could help!
WHATS GOING ON!!!Download iOS 7 on to your iPhone. You should then be able to Facetime. However, I have the same problem with my iMac. It was okay on the 16th April but when I tried to Facetime on the 18th it wouldn't connect when I contact someone or someone tries to contact me. Still won't work. Must be a problem caused by Apple, but I just wish they would tell us how to solve it!!
Also update your iPad to iOS 7. No idea for iMac, wish I had!

He's up in the mines atm so I know he has no coverage, but I've been messaging him for the last 2 weeks and I also sent one to him only 10 minutes earlier and it sent, but since last night I can no longer text just his number, everyone else is fine!

Wifi works for everyone but me - I get a "self-assigned IP address" and no Internet connection
I have the most confounding Wifi problem. I just got Verizon Fios, and it works perfectly on my roommate's laptop, his iPad, and on my iPhone. But it doesn't work on my Macbook Pro (running Lion). My Macbook has no problem connecting to other Wifi signals - in fact, there's another connection in my building that I can connect to just fine from my room.
When I try connecting to our own Verizon signal though, the Macbook hunts around for a few seconds, then connects - but says there's no Internet connection. I get an ominous exclamation mark over the Wifi icon. My computer gives me a "self-assigned IP address" and says it can't connect to the Internet.
I've tried everything I can think of: Restarting the computer, turning Wifi off and on, deleting and then re-accessing the signal, turning the firewall on and off, renewing the DHCP lease, restarting the router, switching channels on the router, and more. At this point, I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?Please try each of the steps that follow, in order, until resolved:
STEP 1 - Create a New User Account
System Preferences > Accounts
Click "+" to add a new account.
Log off, and then, log back on with the new user account.
Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network with your Mac's AirPort.
If this resolves the problem, there may be something amiss with your current profile and will require further troubleshooting.
If this does not resolve the problem, go ahead and log back into your normal account and go on to the next step.
STEP 2 - Preferred Networks
Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Select AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under Preferred Network, use the minus button to delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
Delete AirPort Keychain Entries (Note: This only applies if you connect to AirPort/Time Capsule routers)
Launch the Keychain Access application located in the \Applications\Utilities folder
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries, and then, delete them.
Restart, or log out, then back in.
Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Select AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under Preferred Network, click on the "+" button to add any preferred network(s).
Restart, or log out, then back in.
STEP 3 - Move System Configuration Files
Note: You will have to reestablish your network connection settings.
In Finder, go to the Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences folder.
Move (not copy) the SystemConfiguration folder to the OS X desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will automatically rebuild this folder and the associated files contained within.)
If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder (now on the Desktop) back to its original location. -
Content Player navigation buttons not working for everyone
Hi,
Some of the participants are experiencing the issue with Content Player navigation buttons 'Continue' , 'End Test' etc..
We suspect it is because of the version of Java runtime environment on thier PC after eliminating the browser cache, or IE version issues.
Could anyone please tell me what are the supported Java versions for proper functioning of LSO600 Content player?
We are on ECC 6.0, LSO600 and SAP portal version EP7.
Any help is highly appreciated.

java supported version is more than JRE 1.4.2._07
and IE is IE6 and IE7
LSO supports Java 1.4.02_07 to java 1.6
Browsers:
Micorsoft IE6 and IE7.
Firefox from 2.2
If there is more than one Java version on the pc, try forcing the browser to use a certain version of Java by going to the control panel -> Java -> in java control panel go to -> java tab -> Click view in Java Applet run time settings -> Select one of the JRE to enable it and force the browser to use this version of Java.

Splash page is not working for everyone

My client has received several complaints by customers that
they can't see
the public website which opens automatically once the splash
movie is
finished playing. They say that all they can see is a yellow
screen. I
believe this might be due to the splash screen hanging when
they don't have
flash or a corrupt flash installed. Can anyone shed some
light on me as to
what might be the problem and a strategy toward fixing it.
The splash page seems to work fine on every computer I have
tried.
I'd hate to have to remove the flash page but that is just
what might have
to happen if I can't resolve this issue.

Is the issue that the redirect is never leaving the flash
page?

Dear Adobe,
As an enterpirse level organization (school district), your solution to resolve the Adobe PDF print issue does not work. Our only method so far has been to downgrade clients to 10.1.1 as this was the last stable build. Between your countless updates and patches, I would expect Adobe to have a viable solution in which we are not forced to touch thousands of computers individually to correct your flaws.
I would like to know if others are having problems with printing even after the patch. I have reached the point in which I am encouraging members of our team to start using FoxIt reader as it works with our environment.

What OS version and platform?
What type of printers are you using?
Are the printers on networks or connected directly to the computers?
Does the issue occur everytime you print or only on specific documents?
