Ideal Premiere Pro export settings BEFORE compressor

I'm editing with Premiere Pro these days... I've currently been exporting 1080p h.264 mov files in order to put them into compressor ad have compressor do it's thing to make them internet ready.
Is there an "ideal" setting that I should be using BEFORE I send my videos to compressor?
I'm trying to figure out why compressor is adding ghost frames to the beginning of my videos (when they don't exist before conversion) and I'm wondering if it might have to do with the initial video setting that compressor is trying to work with.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Some would consider H.264 is already "internet ready".
What other changes are you making?
fwiw - even in PP I edit in ProRes and export a self-contained master file. Then I use that file in Compressor to do conversions to delivery formats.

CS4 Premiere Pro EXPORT settings for embedding videos in PDF

I am trying to embed a few short videos into a PDF ebook and my PDF file size is massive. I want the videos to still look good quality as I put a lot of effort into making high quality videos for my ebook.
Does anybody have any advice for export settings in Premiere Pro for the use in PDF documents? I've played around with the various preloaded export settings but I'm wondering if I can customize the settings to look good in a PDF.
(I realize Acrobat will convert the video into flash for consistent play-black)
(And not sure if this matters but my current videos are 60fps 1280 x 720 HD shot with a Canon 7D)
All advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Premiere Pro CC crashes before completing application startup on Dell Latitude E6530 (i7-3720QM,16G RAM, Win 7 64 bit). Is this a know issue? Could this be a video display issue (I see both Intel HD Graphics 4000 and NVIDIA NVS 5200M device support in Device Manager)?

CS3 Premiere Pro - export to Encore settings closes PP

OS = XP, SP2
Adobe CS3 Master Collection
Capture = Matrox RT.X2 LE (MxTools ver. 3.6.0.145)
Video = Matrox QID LP PCIe

This a new install of CS3, first project.
When exporting a full sequence to Encore from Premiere, selecting the "Settings" button causes Premiere Pro to close with no error messages.
If I accept the default settings, the export continues as normal and creates the files.
Single Layer chosen
Encoding Settings - Preset: NTSC Medium Quality
Defaults come up as;
NTSC, 720x480, 29.97 non-drop frame [fps]. Lower, Quality
3.0
48kHZ, 16 bit, Stereo, PCM
VBR, 1Pass, Min 1.50, Target 4.00, Max 7.00 [Mbps]
It's a very simple program in SD, 4:3 aspect, 93.5 minutes in length with a few still frames (jpg or bmp at 720x480) inserted. No audio or video effects processing. I'd like to tweek the settings or adjust the edited program if necessary for best/better quality.
Is this a known issue, am I missing something simple? I can't seem to find any theads (or Kb) pertaining to this.
Any ideas or solutions greatly appreciated.

I do not recall a lot of issues in CS3, that were specific to Matrox, but CS4 and its updates pointed up tons of issues with Matrox drivers. Matrox had play "catch up" with every iteration of the CS4 updates. However, there almost always seem to be some issue with Matrox and Adobe, so that would be a likely "candidate," as Harm points out. It might not be the correct one, but would be worth a look with a test on a totally non-Matrox Project.
It seems that when everything (and I do mean everything) is set up perfectly at all levels, the Matrox cards work well for many, even with PrPro, but there are just so many, who have little problems in the setup (drivers, etc.) and things go south in a big hurry.
Please report your findings, as they will likely help others.

Ideal import and export settings to make a master (uncompressed file)

editing in FCP VERSION 6.0.5 ON A MACBOOK PRO. The footage I'm working with is one 26 GB Quicktime file (16 minute duration), standard definition, 725 x 576, 10 bit uncompressed.
Basically I need to make this file, which is a short film, 1 minute shorter to be eligible to enter it into the Cannes Film festival next week.
What would be the ideal import and and export settings to make a new master e.g. to create a new file that is most uncompressed.

It seems that every time you reply your goal has changed.
If you're worried about the self-contained movie requiring FCP to open, that's a simple fix. Right-click on the file and choose Get Info. In the Info window, change the 'Opens With' to QuickTime Player. You'll maintain the best quality and others won't need FCP to open it.

Premiere Pro Export of AVCHD 'Shaky' Effect

Hi!
I'm working in premiere pro natively with AVCHD footage. I haven't had any problems editing in premiere, everything looks great, but when I export the sequence I get this strange 'shaky' effect specifically on my effects such as dissolves or text or adding movement to a photo. I made sure 'Frame Blend' is unchecked, I tried clicking 'always deinterlace' and 'flicker removal' but those didn't help either. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry to hijack the thread, as I am in a similar boat. I am working on an ongoing project. I have cut a concert, then created a trailer all done in PP3. I brought in the song files from the concert(quicktime 960x720 raylight encoded) created clips that I wanted to use for the trailer and added some overlay titles. I need to export H.264 and used a custom setup that I have used many times already. When I go to export it gets 3 frames from the end and says "unknown error" I have been reading through the forum and many posts state there may be a corrupt clip. I went through and removed 1 clip at a time from the sequence and exported, every time it will stop. I disabled the text overlays with the same result. I disabled the audio track with the same result. I exported the movie to an uncompressed AVI and started a new project(DVCProHD 720P24) with that and the audio file created in Audition. Tried exporting to H.264 with the same failed results. As I said before I have used H.264 with no issues many times before.
Additional history with this is, earlier this week I encountered the problem of the Media encoder not showing up. I followed the instrucions for the fix and that is working correctly now. I also saw notices of people having issues with various versions of quicktime, specifically v7.4 and higher, I am running V7.6(472)quicktime pro. I was going to revert to 7.3 but on the uninstall it stated that I will loose the pro capabilities(can I just put the serial number back in?), so I did not revert. All other export functions work correctly.

Premiere Pro exporting solutions?

I need desperate help in the realm of exporting...
In a short summary:
I am currently shooting with a 5D Mark III and a 24-70mm
When I shoot, I keep my lighting equal throughout the histogram, I keep a reasonable f-stop to obtain better focus, I use double the shutter speed when shooting at a certain frame-rate, and I keep my ISO at the native.
All of my RAW footage looks fantastic! However once I get it through Premiere Pro and export it, the final product looks like a major decrease in quality.
Here's my usual workflow..
Import RAW files into Premiere Pro with no conversion into ProRes or anything
Create my sequence using "Create Sequence from Clip"
Do all my cuts
Add color correction with "3-Way color corrector" as well as add a subtle Unsharpened Mask.
Then I export from Premiere (Even though Media Encoder final outputs looks exactly the same quality)
Export as:
H.264
Vimeo HD 1080 2.39
And then as I said... quality suffers..
What's an appropriate workflow that will help me achieve better exporting results? Am I doing something wrong?

Well, as joe and Jim have said, it is difficult to help without a little more information. First of all, congratulations on getting the 5D Mark III. I researched it yesterday after a discussion about bit rates. If you are using the all I-Frame setting, you should be getting some very good video, assuming all of the correct composition, lighting, settings, etc.
What I can tell you is that the Vimeo preset uses 5Mb/s whereas the YouTube preset uses 8Mb/s. That can be significant with some footage, and not so much with other footage. So I suppose the first question is: are you using Vimeo?
I have done extensive research on the difference between my camera's video and photographs scaled to the same frame size and the video is not bad. I had the assistance of one of the smartest video guys I know so I am confident of the analysis.
Not great, but not bad. And the problems require about a 300% zoom to really analyze them. But that is not your issue. You want to see your video exported as clean as it was imported. That isn't possible, but you might be able to get closer if you post a few seconds of video that you want to export, and then post the export, along with a screen shot of your settings (unless you are truly using the default). Then we can all try it and see what happens.
You might want to shoot 10 seconds of something with no motion at all. Then 10 seconds of a lot of motion. It would make for a better analysis. Shoot it specifically for this test. Have some text in the shot from a box or a sign, or some other sharp lines.

Premiere Pro Export to Encore

Hi would have to consider myself time poor in my experience with Premiere Pro but have managed to create some decent outcomes. I have a completed video and would basically would like to export my final project into Encore CS3 to finalise menus etc. I created the project in one timeline with 12 sequences in Premiere Pro 1.5. My understanding was that if I imported the project into Encore I would have access to each sequence to link to a menu button and so on. This does not seem to be possible and correct me if I wrong but it would appear by reading the manual etc that I need to EXPORT each sequence as a movie from Premiere Pro into a file which would then make it available to IMPORT as an asset into the Encore Project Tab and into the timeline in Encore.
Is this on the right track or way off the mark????

Premiere Pro export problems

I have been having problems exporting from Premiere Pro with my MacBook Pro with OSX 10.9. My exports have dropped frames, sometimes black, sometimes green, sometimes striped or mosaic patterns... I tried updating, I tried de-installing and re-installing. I was trying to export HD 25p but I also tried to export using sequence settings and that didn't work either. I also tried using Media Encoder. My original footage was HDV. I was initially working from a WD external drive with FW800 to thunderbolt adapter, but I've also tried working from a USB3 external drive and also from my internal drive; it makes no difference. The only "solution" I found to the problem was when I exported using a friend's computer.
Previous to this problem I had been using Premiere Pro CS6 version because that was compatible with the edit suites I had been using at my University. But my project file developed some kind of bug whereby it was expanding virtually exponentially every time it saved. So it became so large (up to 5GB) that the computer crashed whenever it tried to autosave. When I converted the project to a CC project this problem seemed to be overcome, so I continued to work with CC from my lap-top. But then I had the problems when I came to export.

i've been told by a friend that it is a render problem, not true dropped frames. the frames come out green, or striped, or mosaic-effect...

Saving Quicktime Pro Export Settings

I regularly convert video from one size/bitrate to another using the export function of QTpro.
Is there any way I can save this setting permanently in the export settings menu and call the setting something?
Does this need apple scripting?
Has anyone done it? I'm sure they must have.

***** that this feature has been removed since it's perfectly obvious and useful to have. As a workaround, if you are a Final Cut Pro user and have Compressor installed, you could set up a preset with custom settings and batch process to a folder of your choice from there.
Also, I'd stumbled on a action script someone had put together for saving most recent settings presets in quicktime pro but don't have a link to provide you. It's definitely out there but might be more complicated to throw together if you don't know or have the time to learn scripting.

What About Premiere Pro Export to Final Cut?

I went to a presentation about Adobe Fremont in about March. We were told that in April Premiere would be updated to enable export to Final Cut. I have seen nothing. I tried to call support, after talking to two guys evidently in India, I was put ON HOLD FOR ONE HOUR before I gave up.
I have a project to cut...I would like to a rough cut and pass it to my editor, who is on a Final Cut machine. Exporting an EDL does not work very well; all you can do is move an EDL with a single layer and no transitions.Obviously, being able to export to Final Cut would be a major plus for me. Adobe promised that they were going to do this...can anyone tell me what the heck is up?! Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words - we agree. We've got many other wins in progress such as Hearst TV, Turner and others. Clearly Apple is focused on the iPhone (and they should be because it makes a lot of money!) and even hard core FCP'ers in a moment of honesty wonder about the long term future of FCP. I hope that none of our customers have that fear because they shouldn't.
Anyway....enough of this theorizing!!!....does anyone have any facts about export to Final Cut?
Here are the facts - Adobe has FCP export as a kind of beta and I have it loaded on my laptop. It is always our intention to 'play nice' with others which is why we already have FCP import and AAF import/export.
FCP export though is of less overall usefulness simply because FCP doesn't like anything other than QT. So, if you're shooting P2 MXF and you want to hand it over to a FCP editor, FCP is going to wig out.
Still, it is our intention to provide Premiere Pro to FCP integration in the future.

Encore Messed up Premiere Pro Export!!!!

I am super pissed. So I export a 1 hour project from Premiere Pro CS5. MY settings: 24p progressive HD footage (xh a1). I didnt edit the footage. I exported to : Blu ray defualt settings, kept original footage settings (progressive, aspect ratio, etc)
I import the footage into Encore to create a chapter menu. Well after I burn the project onto a dvd, MY FOOTAGE IS MESSED UP. It almost seems like ENCORE CS5 converted my progressive footage into interlaced because the edges of the video is now jittery and bad quality. And dont tell me it has to do with me burning Blu Ray encoded footage on a dvd.
Does encore mess up transcode settings? Because ENCORE Doesnt seem to support progressive footage.

I think your problem is that the DVD standard does not support HD footage, so encore (via Adobe Media Encoder) down-rez's your HD to SD in order to burn on DVD. You might want to check out this tutorial by Jeff Bellune :

Adobe CC Premiere Pro Exporting Excruciatingly Slow... Please Help?

Hi guys, school project due in a few hours, and I've been fighting with premiere pro for close to 15 hours on a 15 minute video. It's pretty basic, a little bit of footage and a few pictures in 1920x1080, but for the life of me this thing will not export. It starts off very quick but slows to a crawl and then curls up and stops. My system doesn't pull any punches: i7 3770k, 16 gb 1600 mhz ram, 2x 780 ti. Any suggestions??? I'm dying here.

Premiere Pro Exporting Issues using ProRes LT

Using Premiere Pro CC and is currently up to date. When exporting ProRes LT (1920X1080) I am getting constant glitches and purple/pink scan line across my footage. This happens within the timeline and the export. Raw footage is clean. Footage shot on a Canon 5D Mark ii. System: Mac Pro (2013 - The trash can one), 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC, AMD FirePro D500 3072MB, OSX 10.9.3.

It sounds like you are hitting the OS X 10.9.3 bug, corrupting exports with the Mercury Playback Engine (OpenCL). Usually, it's with H.264 exports, but I"m not surprised it affects other codecs too. I'll add that to the bug report.
You can change the Mercury Playback Engine to "Software Only" or roll back to OS X 10.9.2 to fix it.

Premiere Pro Sync Settings Failed

I'm running Premiere Pro CC (2014) 8.2.0 (65) on a Mac. I've been trying to make Sync Settings work and keep giving up. I move around enough from facility to facility that a quick import of my settings would be amazing... if I could get it to work.
All software is the most recent update as of 04/14/2015
I've cleared preferences and returned to the default PP.
I've cleared the settings on the cloud for PP.
I've quit Creative Cloud desktop and relaunched.
I've logged out of Creative Cloud desktop and logged back in.
Followed these instructions. Troubleshooting Sync Settings
I've pretty much tried every solution I've seen here in the forums and still no luck.
So I have two questions. Do people use this feature successfully on Mac? And... what the solution?

Just try downloading the 7.1 update from the below Link and then sign out from creative cloud .
Restart the computer and signin into cretaive cloud and open premier pro and check if it is updated
