As long as you are buying content for yourself (you can't use your balance to gift content) then your account's balance should be used up first before any remainder is charged to your card.

Someone help please! I lost $90 worth of itune cards

I bought an ipod for my daughter and tried to get an apple ID. I entered my info. and it asked for a credit card so I entered all the itune cards she got for Christmas ($90). Hit the submit button and then realized I didn't type the email address correctly. Since I can't get the verification code from the email, I tried it again using the CORRECT email and verified my account, but it won't let me use the gift cards. I tried going to yahoo and opening an account in the name I sent (the mispelled on) but yahoo said I couldn't use that email name. I thought maybe it was because it was already in use, so I email the adress what I did wrong and asked her to verify my account for me and than I would erase her email off my account, but the message came back to me (not an address) So now what do I do? I called Apple support and the guys there had no idea! Hoping someone out there does!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

This is perhaps a common problem -- I don't know. My Bride bought me a 30GB iPod a few years ago. Cayman Islands are disallowed from using the iTunes Store, for whatever the reason. I'm not an angry man, just frustrated. I called a few locations in the U.S., and they assured me that I could purchase an iTunes gift card, redeem it and be on my way to happiness by buying music. I love my iPod, but it needs more than just my owned CDs on it.

Go to the main iTunes store screen.
Go to the very bottom right of thes creen and click flag/marble icon.
Select the US store.
Instead of selecting *Create account*, select Redeem.
Input the card number then select Create new account (unless you already have an iTunes account then use that).
If these iTunes gift cards are from the US, you need to create a US iTunes account with a US address.

When I click on "App Store", the loader gets stuck on "Contacting iTunes Store..." I can click on the "iPod Click Wheel Games" and it works, but NOTHING else.

I was having this problem. The settings on my wireless router was set to hide my IP address so it wouldn't connect. When I changed that, I connected no problem. While this is annoying since I don't want my IP address to be out there, I just switch my router when I need to connect to the App/iTunes Store. Hope this helps. It worked for me.

I can redeem my 45 dollar worth of itunes cards. My itunes store works fine but for some reason the redeem quick link isn't working. I have got the link to open but it shows me the text but even after iv entered the code the redeem button doesn't work. If their are any solutions I could realy use the help

I have a ITunes card which I bought from Costco as a 3pack. I used the first two okay. I just tried to redeem the third one but keep getting invalid even though I tried it various times using an assortment of letters or number that looked similar. I emailed the ITunes Support dept 3 times and to this day have not received a reply. I don't know what else to do because they don't have a phone number for their customer service. It seems they are ignoring my problem and do not want to credit me.

I don't think any of our Itunes cards paid for purchases any purchases. With this information I plan to file a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General's office.
