Image Scan in ADF

Dear All
can any one help me to make a page to scan images using any scanners & preview after scanning using ADF technology?
thanks

Dear Shay & All
first , thanks for shay, i successed to finish the solution , but !!
i successed to get images from my scanners using this solution (in JDeveloper only !!), as after deployment under stand alone wls, solution is not working !!
i guess that the problem coming from "wls see only himself as a server , and sure it can't see any client (which contains the scanner Driver)"
my question now : can i make my ADF app which is working fine in the client side in JDeveloper , to work fine on stand alone wls and see the scanners which exist in the client side ?
successed script only in client side
public String ScanImages(){
try {
Source source = SourceManager.instance().getDefaultSource();
if(source == null){
throw new JboException ("No Source Found !!");
source.open();
source.setMinimumExceptionEnabled(false);
try {
System.out.println("Is CAP_DUPLEX supported? " + source.getCapability(JTwainConstants.MSG_GET, JTwainConstants.CAP_DUPLEXENABLED, JTwainConstants.TWON_ONEVALUE));
// sets CAP_DUPLEXENABLED
source.setCapability(JTwainConstants.CAP_DUPLEXENABLED, new ValueContainerOneValue(new ItemTypeInteger(JTwainConstants.TWTY_BOOL, 1)));
} catch (Exception e1) {
System.out.println("CAP_DUPLEX Unsupported: " + e1);
source.setUIEnabled(true);
source.setFeederEnabled(true);
source.setUIEnabled(false);
source.setIndicators(false);
source.setAutoFeed(true);
source.setTransferCount(6);
int counter = 0;
do {
Image image = source.acquireImage();
counter ++;
}while(source.hasMoreImages());
}catch(Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}finally{
SourceManager.closeSourceManager();
return null;
please advise

  • HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF

    We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
    Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
    My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct.  I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
    If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
    There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF.  Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
    I've tried all I can think of.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  Could it be a fault in the ADF?

  • Image Scan in Oracle Forms 6i

    Dear all,
    I need help to scan image from Oracle Form Builder 6i and store the image location in the oracle 9i database.
    Here important issue is we just store the image location in the database not the image.
    We'll store the images in a storage device and store the location path in the database. And retrive the image from storage device using the path.
    For example: User Scan the image using Form builder 6i then save the image like 1001-DPS-1.jpg in the default location like D:\Image\.....
    And in oracle 9i database data save like : 1001 DPS 1 D:\Image\1001-DPS-1.jpg User_Name Sysdate
    Data save automatically in the database when image scanned and saved in physical drive. This is our main purpose.
    Is it possible to solve this task using Oracle 9i and Developer 6i??? Need all of your urgent help. Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

  • Lightroom 4. I have a large image (scanned) 10,000 X 14000 which does not Render when I try to print or export.   Regular sized images work fine.

    In Lightroom 4:Mac OS 10.6.8.     I have an expecially large image (scanned) which is 10,000 X 14,000.  I have edited it but when I try to print or export the image, it starts to "Rendering Page" but gets stuck and is unable to complete the task before it times out.    When I use normal sized photo images (raw), it works fine.  I suspect the problem is related to the size of the file.   Is there some way I can reduce the size of the image while in Lightlroom?   Or is there any other solution?

    You originally posted on a thread that really wasn't related to your problem, so I branched the discussion.
    Check the Windows System Event Viewer to see the details of the crash, most importantly the name of the faulting module.
    Most crashes on Open or Save are due to OS bugs (especially on MacOS) or bugs in third party extensions to the OS open and save dialogs.

    This thread at Sun : http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=513804&messageID=2445090
    talks about two options for creating a graphicImage jsf tag. (img tag)
    1. Make the img tag url refer to a servlet (instead of a static image file)
    2. Embed the image into the tag as inline base64 encoded data.
    2a. Use an <Object> tag with inline data.
    1. Looks a bit complex for a simple problem.
    2 and 2a don't work with some browsers.
    - And I've not yet figured out how to hook into the ADF Faces table-rendering logic to get it to add my image column. My table binds to a collection DataControl, [which in turn retrieves from a findAllItems call on a session facade, which uses my domain model, and wraps up access to a TopLink pesistence layer]. The framework just ignores my byte[] attribute when creating the jsf table from the DataControl. All string, int etc. attributes get represented correctly in the jsf table output.

  • New Feature "Image scan"

    Hello Nation,
    Have any of you looked already looked into the new "Image Scan" functionality of Async OS release 6.3?
    If so, what are your experiences? (Mainly: what system recourses does it consume)
    The function sounds very promising, I'm curious....
    Steven

    Hello Karl,
    Thank you for this clear answer. As you described the technology, I think it will fit perfectly to the needs of our "big brother" department.
    Currently they get a copy of every message that contains an image, sound file or movie. They check (at least, they say they do) every message for non professional/harmful content.
    Currently the number of images entering their mailbox is overwhelming; maybe a tool like Image Scan can reduce the load and forward only the images with a serious amount of "skin-color".
    A couple of points here:
    1) IIA only scans images, not movies or sound files.
    2) If they really are checking every image, IIA will not replace that. We don't even recommend quarantining based on the IIA score, because there will be False Positives. The best way to use it is to create Content Filters that trigger based on IIA score, but just insert a header (or bcc to a special mailbox). Then run a report periodically and see who is at the top. of the list. Those are the people who warrant closer attention.
    Are there any figures on the load the image scanner will add to the system? We recently replaced our four C600's by C650's because the C600's where running on 100% CPU constantly. I don't think I can request for more budget to add machines within coming two year.
    best regards Steven
    Internal and Beta testing found very minimal impact on a standard mail load. This will depend on what your mail flow is like, what kinds of services you are running, and how many messages have images attached.
    If you are load balancing your 4 systems, you can enable IIA on one or two of them and see if there is much performance difference between the ones running IIA and the ones that aren't.
    The best way to find out is talk with your sales team about getting a demo key. They can guide you through the setup and creating reports.

  • Had to reload drivers and updates for my HP scanjet G4050, I now enter image scan to scan photos but nowhere is there a "send" button to get them to iPhoto

    Since loading Maverick and then, with the assist of Apple Support, I had to reload drivers and updates for my HP scanjet G4050, I now enter image scan to scan photos but nowhere is there a "send" button to get them to iPhoto.

    Here are a couple of ideas:
    1. (my favorite) - connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable for virtually the same functionality, more speed and fewer connectivity issues.
    2. Reset by turning the printer off, holding # and 6 keys while and for a few seconds after turning it back on.

    Hi jonathanapp,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like you're installing a printer/scanner combo on your Mac. You may need to refer to the documentation that came with the scanner for specific information on how to set it up with your MacBook Air.
    You may also find these tips helpful:

    Verify the scanner has power and is turned on. Turn the scanner off and then back on again.

  • Scanning using ADF

    When scanning an A4 document using the ADF I get a scunched up image about 2 inches deep.  I have scanned this document at the highest resolution possible.  Scanning straight from the glass is absolutely fine. Copy works fine in both cases.
    I have spoken to HP on numerous occasions, and also had a technician come today - but he wasn't confident on Mac's and really was unable to help at all.
    I realise that this must be a software problem, and there must be some setting somewhere that isn't right.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software twice - and have done a factory re-set on the printer.  All have not made the problem go away.
    I'm also having difficulty in scanning from the printer to the computer - keep on getting a message that 'communication is lost' yet the printer seems to be on the network, and the computer can communciate. I can scan the other way - computer to printer, but if using the ADF get the squished image....  really need this for work!
    I have not been successful in scanning to network folder - maybe someone can give me the correct path to use for a mac?
    I do hope that someone can help!  I look forward to your replies and advice.
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    You will not be able to scan 4X6 photos using ADF because of the thickness of the paper.
    It is always recomended to use the Scanner glass to scan the same.
    Give Kudos to say "thanks" by clicking on the "thumps Up icon" .
    Click "Accept as Solution" if it solved your problem, so others can find it.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 100 - scans only from tray, won't scan from adf

    Hi
    I am having issues with my HP LaserJet Pro 100.
    I load the adf and upen the scan dialog however when I click scan, it will scan from the tray every time. I have cleaned the rollers and checked the paper. I have ran scan doctor and it doesn't notice a problem as it doesn't check the adf.
    There is no error message as it just keeps scanning from the tray even when it is empty and the adf is loaded.
    I have reinstalled the product and tried again but we still cannot scan from the adf.
    I have read several threads which have mispick issues and many threads relating to issue with this particular product yet the help centre IM chat support doesn't have anyone who can assist with this product which i find odd. It doesn't need servicing yet as it isn't very old.
    Please can anyone provide a solution to the problem?
    Thanks
    H

    Hi hayleymariec,
    I see that you are unable to scan from the ADF. I can help you.
    Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
    I have provided a document for cleaning the ADF rollers and the separator pad, just to make sure these are the areas you cleaned previously, since you mentioned you already cleaned the rollers.
    'Document feeder mispick' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the ADF Does Not Pick Up Paper o...
    Disregard the title. Both models are pretty similiar for the ADF.
    You must have the Laserjet Pro 100 M175nw.
    How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    If the issue persists, I would recommend to call HP Tech Support and inquire about a replacement printer, since you are still in warranty. Call 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Contact HP Worldwide.

  • Cannot copy or scan from ADF (autofeeder) on LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

    I've been a very pleased owner of a LaserJet 1536dnf MFP all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, fax. The device is running the latest firmware, it is connected via a hard-wired ethernet connection, and I use it mainly with my laptop which is connected to the same open network via wi-fi. The laptop is running Windows 7 32-bit with the latest drivers, utilities, and diagnostics tools installed.
    The problem I started running into today is two-fold:
    The copier no longer produces copies when feeding one or more pages into the ADF. In other words, the pages are pulled through and the display shows the status as "copying" but no copies are produced. Also, there are no errors indicated on the display.
    The HP Scan utility no longer completes scans via the ADF for one or more pages. Pages are pulled through the ADF then the HP Scan utility presents a simple "An error occured while scanning" error message. I observed similar behavior when attempting to scan via the native windows applications (photo viewer, windows fax and scan, microsoft office document scanning, etc).
    Regular flatbed copying and scanning still works without a hitch for 1 page at a time. I have been using both scenarios above for over a year without any issues. There have been no software installs/updates applied to my laptop in the time these issues surfaced. I have run the print, scan, and network diagnostics utilities from HP and they all show zero problems.
    I have not been able to find any relevant info for either of the issues above via HP support or third-party forums. My hunch is that these are somehow related to a device firmware / hardware / configuration issue and am hoping to find some support via this forum. Appreciate your feedback in advance!
    Best,
    Igor

    This is the side piece that was lifted. The feed tray was removed and I manually ran one page through with the copy button. Then put the feed tray back and affter that i was able to scan multiple pages with no problems.

  • LaserJet Pro 200 colour MFP M27nw - problem to scan from ADF

    I seem a new LaserJet Pro 200 colour MFP M27nw running on a PC with Windows 8 and have just realised that whenever I scan from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), no output file is generated. The original document is drawn into the document feeder successfully and the printer display reports that the scan is ready. However, no file containing the scan is generated. This happens irrespective of whether I send the output to USB or to email and irrespective of whether the original document has single or multiple sheets.
    Interestingly, the ADF works well if I try to produce hardcopies, that is, the printer is able to drawn in the sheets o fthe original document from the ADF (be it single or multiple sheets), and produce hardcopies of the original successfully. Moreover I have no problem to scan single or multiple sheet documents when the original document is loaded through the Flatbed Scanner rather than the Document Feeder Scanner.
    Appreciate any help. Thanks
    Stephen

    HI @StephenScerri ,
    I see by your post that when you scan from the ADF there is no output file containing the scan that is generated to USB or to email. You can copy from the ADF and scan successfully from the flatbed. I would like to help.
    Is this printer the Laserjet Pro 200 MFP M127nw?
    I have provided a document for How to Scan: Windows 8.
    When you scan from the ADF, do you get a scan preview from the computer software?
    Or is it previewing the scan but not saving it to the computer?
    What software are you using to scan with?
    Try saving the scan to the computer, if you are getting a preview, to see if it will save the scan there.
    Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a great day!
    Thank You.
