Image update - overwrighting master image - help

Dear All again,
This seems to be a problem day for me but I am hope some of you more professional developers can help me some more.
I have created an insert form where it also updates a 2 other tables. One table is for a image. This is all no automatically with a image named nologo.gif already stored on the server.
Then there is an update page where people can update their image.
When someone updates their image it overwrights the original "nologo.gif" file with the new one.
So them all the other profiles that use this image have a broken image link.
Does anyone know a way round this problem I have nodoubt caused myself?
Cheers again,
Joe

You have to save the name of the image in your database. Use ADDT file upload behaviour to upload the image and save the image name in a form.

  • Divide images from single master image?

    I have many large images which contain several smaller images each. Is there a way to auto detect and crop these images into separate files? Aperture plug-in? I know it will work in Photoshop Elements, but I don't have that.
    Mike

    Thank you all for the suggestions. I got this pile of images from my father - he probably scanned them on his flat bed scanner years ago.
    Also, in the past I have been unhappy with the auto cropping tools embedded in scanners as they didn't include any rotation corrections (fine angle) - instead they would just crop more of the image.
    Finally, in exploring this issue some I have realized that I can use "preview" to select a part of an image then copy, new, paste and I have a new image. When all images are manually selected then I can import into Aperture, etc... Manual, but it appears to work fine. Not sure if I'm loosing information in the process though - ideas?
    I still am surprised that there isn't a stand along piece of software for doing this automatically...

  • Flickering Image update (only one Image drawn on Component), 10+ Duke Dolla

    I've made an RBGFilter for Images and Combined it with a Thread
    to make an Image fade from Color to Grayscale.
    I use it together with an home made JComponent. It works, but the Image flickers.
    I've tried longer sleep periods (I thougt that maybe the filter was to slow) but it still flickered when changing the Image. I tried dubbel buffering, but couldn't get it to change the Image. Anyway, I suppose double buffering wouldn't help much, while it's only one Image to be drawn and it covers the entire Component.
    Does anyone have a clue about how to do?? You'll get plenty of Duke Dollars!
    (in the fade class)
    public void run()
    try{
    while( !Thread.interrupted() ){
    Thread.sleep( 70 );
    //Change colors:
    Image tmpImage = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage(
    new FilteredImageSource( colorImage.getSource(), fadeFilter ) );
    ImageComponent.setImage( tmpImage ); //Home made component
    //test if fading is finished...
    catch( InterruptedException ie ){}
    (in the home made component)
    public void setImage( Image theImage )
    this.theImage = theImage;
    repaint();
    public void paintComponent( Graphics g )
    g.drawImage( theImage, 0, 0, this );
    }

    I dont know much about java but i do know a bit about MFC and this reminds me of a similiar issue in mfc. So heres my bet:
    Calls to repaint do call directly to paintComponent they first execute some code that paints the background of the component then calls the paintComponent routine. Typically the background is white and this results in flickering.
    Thats just a hunch. Because its similiar to an issue that you get in MFC around animation with framework paint calls.
    You can play the hunch by calling paintComponent directly and see if your flickering goes away. If it does find a way to use repaint without it repainting the background before it calls paintComponent (im sure theres a way or a similiar framework routine)
    One last thing? is the custom componet that your working with swing based? Cause swing based components are supposed to double buffer by default.

  • Flarcreate: How to create a master image?

    Hello!
    I want to create a flash archive of a master system which should be used
    to install a number of clone systems. Also I want to create differential
    archives to update the clones.
    But after creating the first archive and installing it on a clone, I do
    not know how to go on. In the documentation they talk about a "master
    image" but do not explain what this is or how to create it. It seems
    that "archive" and "image" are not equivalent.
    The documentation I used was http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-6398
    Can anyone tell me how to create a differential archive now?

    The Solaris Flash installation feature provides following new enhancements:
    A Solaris Flash installation can now update a clone system with minor changes. If you have a clone system and want to update it with minor changes, you can create a differential archive that contains only the differences between two images, the original master image and an updated master image. When you update a clone system with a differential archive, only the files that are specified in the differential archive are changed. Use the custom JumpStart? installation method to install a differential archive on a clone system, or you can use Solaris Live Upgrade to install a differential archive on a duplicate boot environment.
    Special scripts can now be run for configuration of the master of clone or can be run to validate the archive.Hope the first paragraph gives you the answer.

    Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
    Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...

  • "Unavailable Master Images Cannot be Relocated." error; Reconnect no help.

    Seeking help with strange behavior in Aperture that elicited a shrug from the Genius Bar at the local Apple store. They suggested I post a question in this forum.
    I'm using referenced files in Aperture. When trying to move some of them to a different location on the same drive, before I even get the dialog to select a location, I get the following message:
    "Unavailable Master Images Cannot be Relocated. The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again.".
    So, as instructed, I go through the steps to reconnect the images. At least I think I do since Aperture doesn't complain. I can also select "Show in Finder" and the image is found from within Aperture without incident. In other words, the image is "found". Also, the image is not tagged as "offline".
    After all of this, I get the same error: "Unavailable Master Images Cannot be Relocated. The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again.".
    So, I am a bit lost as to what to do since Aperture provides no further instructions other than to reconnect the images. I also get the same error when I try to consolidate the master into the Aperture DB.
    I hope someone has encountered this situation or similar situation before and can provide a remedy. I want to avoid reimporting the images since I will lose all keywords, and adjustments. Painful.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Not sure if we're facing the same issue but here's what I did, avoiding the need to redo all the adjustments and add keywords again. Maybe your situation can be fixed in the same way?
    I have all my masters stored outside Aperture Library in separate folders on my hard drive. I just don't trust having all the originals inside Aperture. Maybe it makes life more difficult, I don't know. Then I import the folder to an Aperture Project to work on the photos. Maybe 1 in 20 is a 5 star keeper.
    I ran out of HD space on my MBP (Nikon D200 RAW files are 15 meg each) so I copied the folders on the HD to a backup HD and then deleted the original folders and their contents on the main HD.
    Now I want to take the 5 star pictures and make a print or upload a photo. In Aperture the referenced file is still there but I can't export or make any adjustments because "the selected Master image is either offline or not found."
    So I go to "File/Manage Referenced Files" and the File Path tells me what I have to create. It tells me the volume and path "[user]/Pictures/8-9-08 RS Shag Rock" for example, and it's in Red. So I create a new folder on the HD with that exact name. Then I go to the Back up HD, find the 8-9-08 RS Shag Rock folder, find the photo I want and drag it back into the new folder on the HD. The File Path turns black and we're back in business.
    Next time after the BU, I'll leave the folders on the main HD and just delete the contents and save a step when I need to bring some back. Obviously if you have a lot of files to move, it would just be simpler to copy the whole BU HD folder, and delete the pics on the Main HD you don't need for now.\
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I edit lightroom 5 smart previews on mac book pro (mbp) when the lightroom 5 master image files are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp

    How can I edit lightroom 5 smart previews on mac book pro (mbp) when the lightroom 5 master image files are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp? So far when I try to disconnect the external HD from the mbp, I get the following pop up window: The disk "external hard drive A" couldn't be ejected because "Lightroom" is using it. Quit that application and try to eject this disk again. When I do that and restart Lightroom 5, the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - Select Catalog screen pops up but doesn't list my external hard drive A as a choice.
    I've reviewed Adobe's Lightroom Help | Smart Previews Lightroom 5 web page and still haven't been able to figure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    Your internal HDD. by default, is named 'Macintosh HD'. From what information you supplied, it looks like there is already a Lightroom catalog installed on you local (internal) HDD using the standard naming convention Adobe uses as well as a Lightroom catalog on your external drive which you created. To be sure of which catalog Lightroom is loading when it starts up, To do this, start Lightroom as you normally would. After it starts, select the Lightroom menu item, then select the Catalog Preferences item and finally, navigate to the General tab. The Location information will tell you exactly what catalog Lightroom is opening by default. This will likely be the Photography Mac Book Pro Versions catalog on your external HDD. Once that is confirmed, you are ready to proceed. As an additional test/verification, you can shut down Lightroom and, this time, start Lightroom while holding down the ALT/OPTION key. This will cause Lightroom to pause and display a screen which will allow you to chose a different catalog to open. Navigate to the /Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder and select the Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat file. When Lightroom comes up, there should be no previews or folders as this catalog should be empty. Now you can be certain which catalog is being used and which catalog has all your data and you are ready to migrate your current catalog. Shut down Lightroom.
    To migrate your current catalog, use Finder to locate your Photography Mac Book Pro Versions folder on your external drive. Select the folder and select COPY from the context menu. Next, use Finder to navigate to the /Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder on you internal HDD. You can start at the Macintosh HD level and work your way down by opening each level (Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures). Select the /Pictures folder and then select PASTE... from the context menu. When the COPY/PASTE is complete, you should see the following files on the Macintosh HD:
    Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom/ and
    Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions
    The Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom folder will contain the empty default catalog the Adobe created when Lightroom was installed and Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions will contain a copy of the catalog you created on your external HDD.
    You are almost done now. Make sure your external drive is still attached for this step. Restart Lightroom using the ALT/OPTION key again. When the Select Catalog screen appears, select the Choose a Different Catalog button (lower left side). When you do, a Finder window will open to allow you to navigate to a catalog of your choosing. Navigate to Macintosh HD/Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions and select the file Photography Mac Book Pro Version.lrcat. This is the copy you just created. Select the Open button and Lightroom should start. You should see all of your previews and settings just as before. Also, in the left hand panel, all of your folder should show up and none of them should be dimmed and none of your previews should display a small exclamation point badge. Either a dimmed folder name or an exclamation point badge indicates that Lightroom can't find the associated image file. If everything looks good, go to the Lightroom menu, select Preferences and then select the General tab. Under Default Catalog, select an option to either load the LAST catalog opened or select the Users/[user name]/Pictures/Photography Mac Book Pro Versions catalog from the drop down. Shut down Lightroom and then restart it normally. This time, when Lightroom starts, you should be viewing the new copy of your catalog. You can confirm this by looking at the General tab on the Catalog Preferences screen (Lightroom/Catalog Preferences menu items). Shut down Lightroom once again and this time, eject your external drive before restarting. This time, your folders in the left hand panel will be dimmed but you should be able to work with your smart previews. If Lightroom should display a Select Catalog screen with the external drive detached, double check your settings as it indicates Lightroom is still looking at the copy of the catalog on the external drive rather than the new copy you made.
    Finally, if you are seeing dimmed folders and/or exclamation point badges with the external drive attached, this indicates a problem. You can select any folder and select Update Folder Location from the context menu. This will allow you to navigate to the copy on the external drive and select it. Lightroom will then update the catalog (select to synchronize the content). This will not only clear the dimmed folder problem but also remove the exclamation point badges for all photos in that missing folder. However, it may indicate that not all went well with the copy of the catalog so make sure to verify all went well. You can use the Get Info option on the two folders. You should see the same number of files/folders for both the copy on the internal drive as well as on the external drive but you can't rely on the byte count because of the possibility of differences between the geometry of the two drives. Hope this all helps!

  • Aperture corrupted. Can't access images in my library. HELP!

    I have a MacPro Retina running the current version of Aperture. The Aperture database became corrupted today. I had just finished uploading some 35mm images scanned from an Epson V700. I was in the middle of editing one of them when Aperture froze. I ran a FORCE QUIT and tried to relaunch but kept getting an error message (this was hours ago, so I don't remember the exact wording, but it wa something about needing to reload the library). After repeated tries to relaunch failed, I decided to try restoring my Aperture Library from a Time Capsule/Time Machine backup. I tried several differnt backups (going back one version each time) and after trying three versions, finally got one to open in Aperture.
    The problem at this point is that a large number of the 3,000 images in the library are visible, but corrupted or totally invisible (showing up as an all black or all white frame in VIEWER and THUMBNAIL); others appear as digital noise (checkboard or random noise patterns).
    So far, I have tried running this repeatedly to no effect.
    Then, I ran DISK UTILITY VERIFY DISK, VERIFY and REPAIR PERMISSIONS. The disk was ok. There were several incorrect permissions. Repair fixed all but one of them (it read: "WARNING SUID file 'usr/sbin/pppd' has been modified and will not be repaired.").
    Some of the images in the library show up as white frames in BROWSER, but will load to a viewer frame when clicked. However, those images are corrupted because they cannot be accessed by the ADJUSTMENTS menu or by the SHARE menu (the share menu, for example, says
    "The selected original image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again.").
    An added couple of wrinkles for some of you very smart detectives to consider that may or may not be relevant.
    *Many of my images are shared directly to Flickr from Aperture. At first I thought these might have been the images that survived intact, but now I'm not sure that there's any pattern here.
    *Except for the my last set of uploaded images from earlier today and a few other recent, but seemingly random ones, none of the images in the library that can be viewed are able to be edited or shared. I can see 'em, but I can't do anything to them. And, many of the other images can't be viewed at all -- they appear as white, black or noise. A few images a partially visible -- half black or half noise and half image (images that were okay prior to the problem.
    *I have NOT been using VAULTS (I assume that's a dumb choice that one of you will urge me to correct in the future, but that's not an option for recovery right now).
    All I can say is... HELP!
    Thanks.
    PS, I have ONE-TO-ONE. Any chance someone at my local store will have enough Aperture knowledge to save me here?

    BTW in your previous post you wrote
    Once I have this problem fixed, I'll almost certainly shift to the managed process.
    which is why I thought you were using referenced originals.
    Rob,
    it is still not clear if your library is referenced or managed. You may have meant to import managed, but accidentally turned off the import into the library at some point. Have you checked the "Masters" folder inside the Aperture library package, if your masters are actually there?
    If it is referenced, you need to find your original image files - if they are really missing from your system drive, restore them from your Time Machine backup. But if you know exactly where they are, reconnect them using "Locate Referenced Files".
    But if your library is managed, "Locate Referenced Files" will not work. Repairing this will require to patch the database files inside the package, that would be a tricky operation. You may save your edits and tags for your most important images however, by reimporting your masters and then lifting and stamping your adjustments and tags from the versions with the missing originals onto the newly imported original master image file.

  • I want to create an image gallery with forward back nav, master image with a click to pop out zoom

    Hi Musers,
    I'm currently building a photography website and need some help building a specific type of gallery.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Below is a description of the gallery I want to build:
    On the gallery page the gallery appears as a single 'Master Image' with forward and back 'Navs.' and a 'Counter' underneath this single 'Master Image'. Lets say that there are 10 images in this gallery. When the viewer clicks on the forward 'Nav.' the 'Master Image' changes to the next image in the sequence of 10 and the 'Counter' below confirms this progression, in this example the 'Counter' changes from 1 of 10 to read 2 of 10, the 'Master Image' displayed is the second image in the sequence.
    Simple so far.. This above I can do as this is just a basic gallery. What follows is what I cannot find a solution for.
    I want the gallery viewer to be able to click on the 'Master Image' and launch an enlargement of that image overlaying the gallery page, very much like the way the 'Lightbox' widget displays an enlarged image. When the viewer clicks off the 'Ligtbox' or enlarged image it dissapears, reverting the page view back to the standard gallery view with 'Master Image', 'Navs.' and 'Counter'. I do not want the expanded / Enlarged 'Lightbox' image accompanied by a thumbnail gallery, 'Navs.' / Navigation arrows or a 'Counter'. What I want is to be able to launch an enlarged version of the 'Master Image' as an overlay on the gallery page, something like a pop out.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Can anyone explain how I can do this? Is it possible?
    The solution I want seems to be a highbrid between the standard gallery with navigation arrows kept but minus thumbnails and captions with some of the functionality of the lightbox gallery widget.
    I very much appreciate any help anyone can give.
    Thank you

    Hi Harriet,
    Thanks for the message. I'm sure as time goes on new features will be introduced but it's a bit of a shame that the widget library is a little basic, oh, and at times it's just that little bit buggy. So far I'm really impressed by Muse despite being ever so slightly disappointed by some of it's limitations. I'd like to see more image gallery options, the ability to set up a client login area or a client ftp within a site, I also tried embedding video but as I'm no programmer the result looked clumsy so some focus on this would be a help. Considering that a good number of people benefiting from a Muse site will be online retailers a zoom function should have been there from the start.
    Best regards
    Jacques

  • Is there a way to "embed"/add Office updates to the image before deployment?

    Hi,
    in my TS I enabled preapp and postapp Updates
    So first windows patches are applied. Then computer reboots installs apps.
    I just enabled bunch of Office 2013 updates on WSUS. Office patches takes very long time.
    Is there a way to embed patches in MDT to save update time.
    Never used Packages node in MDT may this thing can help?
    How you deal with massive updates?
    Windows image can be updated, but Office for example that is installed after Windows deployment...
    Thx.

    b.lange,
    no I do not install O2013 into the image. It is deployed as post OS install Application.
    I really don't see any significant gain of using individual patches in Updates or from WSUS.
    BTW, I am still confused about getting MS patches (KBs) beside by WSUS and creating msp from bunch of them.
    Could you please briefly describe where and how to download Office 2013 patches for Example from Feb 1 2014 until Sep 15 2014. And then create msp for placing to Updates folder.
    Is there something specific for Office 2013 patches that makes it easy to get as a package (one file)?
    Thanks.

  • How to request - Updating an embedded image in a PDF using Actions but not all actions are recorded

    i am trying to create an Action in CS3 but some of my actions are not been recorded.
    What i want to do is run the Batch option on a folder with a 1,000 PDFs in it. The PDFs
    (which were created in Illustrator CS3) consist of a single page with a single embedded
    image at the foot of the page. I am trying to update that embedded image.
    The Actions i am trying to record are...
    1) Select the single image in the Links palette.
    2) Choose the "Relink.." option in the drop down menu of the Links palette.
    3) Navigate to the new image and select "Place".
    4) Save and close document.
    But the first two actions are not been recorded.
    How do i get around this problem ?
    Note: From trying this manually the new image seems to take on the horizontal and

  • Use Referenced Masters To Avoid Accidentally Deleting A Master Image File

    If you use Managed images it is possible to delete the master file accidentally.  If you delete versions of an image using File -> Delete Version and the version you are deleting is the last remaining version for that image, Aperture 3 will delete both the version and the master image.  If you subsequently empty Aperture Trash and then System Trash that master image file is gone forever.  In Aperture 3 there is no warning that you are about to delete a master image.
    A workaround (although a weak workaround) is to use Referenced Image Masters.  Then when you delete the last version which includes the master image from Aperture, you can uncheck the box "Move referenced file to system trash." and no master image file will be deleted.  The downside to this workaround is that when you really want to delete a master image file, it must be done via Finder.
    The best solution would be for Apple to fix this bug so that when you select "Delete Version" it only deletes the version image and reverts to the master image.  That way the master image can only be delete via the command "Delete Master Image and All Versions."

    There is no bug there.
    I had some trouble wrapping my mind around the file-Master-Version-Image-(Preview) complex that flows, sand-like, through the entire working of Aperture.  (I like a thing to be represented by itself and itself alone, and to exist in one place and one place alone.  I was comfortable with the seeming precision of the location-based "file+path" metaphor for the existence of these virtual things.  Aperture quite cleverly moves beyond that.)  Two things helped me move forward:
    - understanding the difference between Projects and Albums, and
    - separating my Library into a storage area and an output area.
    Projects are, for me, storage containers.  (I have said elsewhere that the mis-naming of "Projects" is the single worst interface decision made in Aperture.)  They have a privileged relationship with your Images:  every Image must "live" in a Project, and "lives" in only one Project.  It may help you to think of "Image+Project{Path}" as functionaly equivalent, within the Aperture Library, to the file directory "file+path" mentioned above.
    Albums are, for me, output containers.  I create Albums every time I know I will output a set of Images.
    In practice, I work on Images in each.  In general, I develop my digital captures in the Project that holds them (and I rigorously stick to "One Project = One shoot"), I create Versions and add them to Albums as needed for output (they are automatically made the Album Pick), and I tweak them for output and then output them from Albums.
    You may be wondering (if you've read this far) -- "What has this got to do with deleting Masters?"  A lot.  Note the difference in the context-menu between a Version in a Project and a Version in an Album.  The menu for the Album contains two delete commands: "Delete Version", and "Remove from Album".  The Versions live in Projects, and only visit Albums.  As Terence correctly points out, if you delete the last Version, your expectation should be that you are deleting that Image from your Library.  My suggestion is that you adopt something similar to what I've set up, and delete Versions from ONLY Projects (never from Albums).  This way you will never unknowingly delete the last Version (because Images can be in only one Project, and if you delete the last Version from that Project you know you are expunging that Image from your Library).

  • Changing master images in aperture and iphoto

    hi
    am i right in thinking that there is no way of altering my original (master) images (located in my 'pictures' folder) in both aperture ans iphoto? I want to be able to see the changes in the original images in this folder, and have these altered images available for other applications, such as itunes. i don't want to have to export altered images from aperture/iphoto, but rather just have one copy of each image. will i need to use preview for basic changes or a third party application such as graphic converter/photoshop for more advanced permanent changes to the originals?
    thanks

    hi
    i have checked the following options: 'maintain previews for project' for my project, and 'share previews with ilife and iwork' in the general preferences. i have then altered the colours of an image in an album for this project and the thumbnail and image in aperture update OK, but nothing changes in finder, and when i open the image in preview it it is still the same as the master image, rather than the image with changed colour. am i doing something wrong?
    thanks

  • Where Are My Missing Master Images?

    I keep my Aperture Library as a "managed" library rather than "referenced, so every master image is kept inside the Aperture Library icon.
    Today I decided to look inside my Aperture Library (by selecting Show Package Contents), and I can only find master images from the past five years. The "Master" folder contains folders for projects I've titled 2012, 2011, and back to 2008. None of the earlier images that I keep in Aperture, 2007 through 2003, appear in the "Master" folder in the Aperture Library, and there are no folders for 2007 and earlier.
    That is, if I look in Aperture Library -> Master -> I see folders for 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008. But that's it!
    There are also no folders inside Preview for those earlier years, or inside Thumbnails.
    And yet...
    And yet when I'm in the Aperture application, I can Export any of the images, all the way back to 2003. So the master images are obviously available to Aperture somewhere. They exist. And I checked -- those earlier missing images not Referenced, they're Managed, just like the whole library.
    So where are they??
    I dug through other folders inside the Aperture Library package but didn't find a thing.
    Help!

    But I'm digging around inside the package and still puzzled -- images inside the folder Aperture Library.aplibrary -> Masters -> 2009 -> 06 -> 14 -> 20090614-214439/ were indeed shot on June 14, 2009. So it appears that those various level folder names reflect image creation date, not the import date.
    Joe,
    these various level folder names reflect what Aperture thinks are the import dates.
    The "Import Session" is one of the Aperture specific Metadata tags. You can display it in the Info/Metadata pane of the Inspector Panel, if you add it to one of the presets, and then you'll know, where to search, if you absolutely must to sleep well .
    You can also use this tag to search or to define a smart album. For example, the image below has been captured in 2003, but was imported in 2010, and will be found in a 2010 folder.

  • Unavailable Master Images are present

    Trying to relocate masters to an external drive using Aperture 2.1. Project with many albums which I am relocating to folders with the same name as the album on an external drive. Most of the albums I was able to relocate. There are 4 where I get the "unavailable master images cannot be relocated" message. When I select and image to show in finder, it shows its location on my internal drive. I have rebuilt the library and still get the same message. I have gone to Manage referenced files and located all the images in the bottom window then click reconnect all. Still get the same message about unavailable masters. What am I missing?

    I am having the same problem. I had all my master images stored in one folder on an external 300gb hard drive. However, I noticed that in aperture, it said I had only 15,000 images while in the folder showed ~17,000 masters. What were these extra 2,000 images? I decided to try to separate these "unconnected" images from the real masters by relocating all my master images into another folder. All went well until I got the following warning:
    "Unavailable master images cannot be relocated. The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again."
    I was able to move most of the masters, but Aperture says I still have 3,009 masters in the original folder (which if I navigate to in the finder contains ~5,000 images). The strange thing is that if I right click on one of these images in aperture and select "show in finder" it finds them with no problem. It can't find them thought when trying to relocate.
    I have tried rebuilding the aperture library, manually moving the images into another folder and then attempting to relocate, and copying the masters to another hard disk and linking aperture to those masters. All with the same result.
    I am using Aperture 2.1.
    Any help here would be great.
