Impdp is referencing wrong dmpdir and I cannot figure out why
Hi. So, here are the facts in my Oracle 11g database:
Oracle considers /u03/admin/orcl/dpdump to be the datapump dir:
SQL> select directory_path from dba_directories where directory_name = 'DATA_PUMP_DIR';
DIRECTORY_PATH
/u03/admin/orcl/dpdump
The oracle user has DPUMP_DIR set to that directory as well:
$ env
DPUMP_DIR=/u03/admin/orcl/dpdump
And in my parfile I have:
$ cat impdp2.par
directory=DPUMP_DIR
Yet, when I try to execute impdp I get this:
$ impdp ww_qa/ww_qa@orcl parfile=impdp2.par

Why is it looking in the wrong directory like that?
It looks like you are expecting your PAR file to interpret and replace environment variables with their actual values.
Two things. One I'm not sure if the parameter files are interpreted that way (haven't tested, never had a need). Secondly, the DIRECTORY parameter needs an Oracle directory object; In this case you'd provide DATA_PUMP_DIR.

Firefox keeps crashing and I cannot figure out why.
I posted this question a few days ago and got 3 email responses, one of which asked for diagnostic codes related to the crashes. I have tried twice to reply to that email, but my mailer daemon will not let it go through because it thinks that I'm trying to send code or something, so I am going to copy and paste them here. Actually, I am going to post the last 5 Dx codes because it has now crashed twice in 10 minutes. If you want the others, I will try to email them from a different account (I have 4). Thanks for any help you can provide. I am running Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) on a Pentium 3.3 Ghz with 2 Megs of RAM. The crashing problem has actually been happening for a while now, since version 25. However, now it is happening many times daily. It's not my virus protection because I have had 3 virus programs in the time it has been happening. It's not malware. I scan a minimum of 3 x/week. And yes, it has crashed in "Safe" mode. I have tried every suggestion in the help articles so it's not any of those. I just want someone to tell me what it IS and how to fix it. Thanks. StephanieSorry to hear about your problems. I can see that you have the avast browser module installed ([email protected]). This is been connected to other cases of Firefox crashing. Could you try disabling the add-on and see if it fixed the issue?

I have been trying all day to access gmail on mozilla. I installed, uninstalled, and re-installed Firefox and I keep getting the same warning whenever I try gmail. All other sites function perfectly.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again. -
After using Firefox successfully for months, it started not loading full pages today, but showing "done" in the status bar at the bottom. I also noticed icons for Javascript, Java, Silverlight, etc., on the right side of status bar, JAVA one is red, but I don't know what that means.

Is that a 404? If yes, then check if you do not have the Export Page option disabled for the page in question in the context menu in Plan/Design mode. If that is not the case, then a URL would help in identifying the issue.

Under "Devices," I have "hidden" my USB access and now cannot figure out how to re-access or "show" USB access again. Very frustrated right now--this is a high-use feature for me and it should NOT be so buried somewhere that I cannot find it. So much for Mac's "intuitive" interface.
Well, you have also "hidden" what version of OS X you are using from anyone who might want to help you.
You are probably using a newer version than I am, but I don't know that these things have changed.
In the Finder, from the Finder menu > Preferences …, there should be a Sidebar pane to choose what is visible.
Also in the Finder, Go menu > Computer (or type Shift Command C) will open a Finder window with any attached volumes showing. -
I have an older iPod (80GB) which I used to be able to sync, but now the iTunes format has changed and I cannot figure out how to sync it. The tutorial showed a page that should pop up when the device is connected to my authorized PC, but that page does not appear. Any suggestions? I need to sync my device to transfer newer music.
If you have a PC, Control S brings back that familiar side bar on the left side. That might help. I'm also going to askt he hosts to relocated this post in the iPod forum. This is the iPad part and you may get more device specific info there.

My 2 year old has deleted my 'apps store' icon and I cannot figure out how to get it back? Doesn't seem to be available in the on-line apps store, ironically enough
He dragged the icon out of the dock at the bottom and disappeared. That icon is merely a "shortcut" that opens the application when you click on it.
You still have the app. Open your applications folder and look for the App Store app icon. Click and hold down on the App Store icon and drag the icon down into the dock to replace it. That puts the shortcut back into the dock. -
When I forward an e-mail, I get a long string of gobblygook that goes with it and I cannot figure out how to eliminate it without having to delete it every time I forward an e-mail. The following is only part of the string that I am talking about. How can I eliminate this from the e-mail?
