Implications of two GR/IR Clearing Account

Hi Guys,
my client required two GR/IR Clearing accounts instead of one. is there any implication of having two GR/IR clearing Accounts, one for import Purchase and second for domestic purchase.
Pls suggest the implications of having two GR/IR Clearing Accounts.
With best Regards,
Ashish

Hi Ashish ,
The GR/IR account is an intermittant account where the liabilities like amounts payable to the vendor are temporirily credited. The soon we do the Logistic invoice verification , the corresponding entry in the GR/Ir account is nullified, and the vendor is credited. This being the functionality , the second  account for Gr/IR is redundant. But still , as far as the function of basic business logic in Finance , its still acceptable. But while customising , the automatic account determination , you will not be able to have this second account - simply because , you can not define posting rules for GR/IR account.(This is the learning I had in my first implementation project. In fact system allows you to define posting rules. But it will behave erratically while testing. I feel that the system logic for this may be that , if we have to post a GR/Ir account , its mandatory... and we need not have any rules  ). This being  the case , you will not be able to achieve the functionality that , you like to post to one GR/IR account for imports and  other account for the domestic purchases.
Simply put, you may have problems in automatic account determination if you have  two GR/IR accounts. Its suggestible to work with  single GR/IR account only.
Hope this information will be helpful to you.
Raghuramam.

  • STO clearing account between two company codes

Hi, every body, when trying to do STO between two company codes, I am getting error to configure the *clearing account between that two company codes, please guide me in resolving the issue, if anybody gives me perfect step by step explanation regading this issue, I will surly reward them with highest points

    Hi Azeem,
When there is a transaction between two company codes, then you need to define the clearing accounts for those two company codes in the TCode: OBYA.
It will ask for Company code 1 and Company code 2.  there you give your 2 company codes and define the posting keys and clearing GL accounts over there.
I think your problem will be solved with this.  Please let me know the status and please reward points if found useful.

  • Inc. payments, two banks, same co.code, need different clearing account?

    Hi,
Are company is going through bank transition in US, and Canada, and we process 820's that post into SAP using payment advices.  So, we will be getting 820's from both banks in the transition.  We are on ECC6.0.
**I'm wanting to know whether we should use one clearing G/L account for both banks, or one clearing G/L account per bank?**  FYI.  We will also be implementing EBS from the bank to debit the bank account, and credit the clearing account.
If I should be looking at two clearing account, what is the best way to achieve this?
The configuration for automatic incoming payment advice is configured:
Payment advice - 06 (payment advice from customer(EDI). and using posting rule BE01, which points back to G/L account in the payment advice configuration.     It does not look at the bank it's coming from to determine the G/L account to post to.
I do notice that there is Additional account determination keys which looks like an additional account could be used if I setup another custom interpretative algorithm.  Is this a possibility?
Is there something else I should be thinking about in doing this process?
    Thanks for help!!!

    Hi,
I've the same problem, could you solve it?
    Can someone provide a solution?

  • Implication of not having EBS structure and clearing accounts

    Hi,
In-House Cash(IHC) utilizes clearing accounts and Electronic Bank Statements (EBS) structure, however, we are contemplating to introduce an external reconciliation tool which reconciles bank accounts with GL directly and hence omit utilization of EBS and clearing accounts. This will require a non standard SAP configuration for IHC.
We would like to seek the opinion of the experts here on the potential impact of not using EBS and clearing accounts on IHC and other SAP functionality to help us better assess our options.
Looking forward to hear your advice. Thank you.

    Alvin Lim

Are the concentration account and the 4 ZBA accounts all assigned to the same company code?  If so, then yes, you can handle clearing of ZBA postings within EBS.
The key to the clearings is that the posting type 1 (post) transactions have to post before the posting type 5 (clear) transactions.  EBS posts the statements in the order that they come through in the bank statement file.  So if, for example, the 1st statement in the file contains the incoming ZBA (posting type 5) transaction and the 2nd statement in the file has the outgoing ZBA (posting type 1), the incoming ZBA postings will not clear because at the time the 1st statement is processed, becuase the  outgoing ZBA transaction from the 2nd statement have not posted.
Where in the file is the concentration account?  Is it before the ZBA accounts?  After the ZBA accounts?  You may need to adjust your configuration based on the order of the accounts in the file.
Also, does the concentration account normally have just incoming ZBA transactions, just outgoing ZBA transactions or both incoming and outgoing ZBA transactions?  If the concentration account has both incoming ZBA and outgoing ZBA transactions, then you may need to assign the posting rules differently to the concentration account than to the ZBA accounts.  For example, if the concentration account is the 1st account in the statement, then both 581 and 281 should be assigned to posting rules with posting type 1 (post) - and the ZBA accounts should have 581 and 281 assigned to posting rules with posting type 5 (clear).  If the concentration account is last in the file, then the configuration would be just the opposite - the concentration account would have all posting type 5 posting rules and the ZBA accounts would be posting type 1.
Also, if you plan to use one clearing GL account, you'll need to make sure to fully specify that account in the account symbol configuration - do not use any masking.

  • Save automatic vendor payment run reference in clearing account assignment

    Hi,
When executing an automatic vendor payment run, the run is identified with two fields:
    - Run date
    - Identification
When the payments are posted, the vendors are cleared and an offsetting entry is posted onto the respective clearing account for each vendor. So if there is 100 vendors in the payment run, there will be 100 line items on the clearing account.
When multiple payment runs are made on the same day, it is hard to separate the line items for each payment run, during the banking process. Each payment run appears with it's total payment amount on the bank statement and should be cleared against the corresponding line items on the clearing account and that's where it becomes hard to easily select the line items that add up to the payment amount.
Unless of course, the assignment field on the clearing account would hold the run date and identification of the payment run.
Has anybody encountered the same business scenario and found a solution for it?

  • Separate GR/IR clearing account for non material

    HI,
In the business, already an account is being used as GR/IR clearing account (WRX) for non material receipts (Non material means there is no material code exists in the system but at the time of PO a description is updated manually).
There are in all two plants and at present all the non material values are getting posted to the same GI/IR clearing account. The requirement is to have a separate GR/IR clearing account for both the plants.
Please note that its related to non material only and there is no material code hence no valuation class can be defaulted. Also if valuation class is kept "blank", the system allows only one entry of account.
Please let me know if any exist is available on this.
    Best Regards

    Hi
It can be done by defining different valuation grouping code for both the plants in OMWD. Then for the respective valuation grouping codes you can maintain different GL accounts in OBYC
    Thank You,

Now for clear process we want to create new account for the Service entry sheet.
We have given blank valuation class for Service entry sheet and it has been assigned to the g/l account.

But i had a doubt will it impact anywhere if i change the valuation class.

  • Intercompany Stock Transfer - without clearing accounts

    Dear all,
I have configured in one client machine the Intercompany stock transfer process, following the indications of the different messages posted in the forum (vendor allocated to supplying plant, customer associated to receiving plant, NB purchase order, define shipping data for plants, assign delivery type and checking rule (NLC), deliveries items, schedule lines, etc).
The process works correctly (purchase order, outbound delivery in supplying plant, inbound delivery in receiving plant, and interCo billing). In the outbound delivery posting, BSX and GBB operations are used.
After that in other client machine I have configured the same process, with the same master data and so on. But in the outbound delivery posting, BUV operation is called and it is compulsory to fill in clearing accounts in Tx. OBYA. This leads to two account document creation.
    I have check:
    - Movement configuration --> the same in both client machines
How can I deactivate the last behaviour. I don't want to use this automatic clearing. I would like to achieve the outbound delivery posting like in the first case (BSX and GBB).
    Any ideas?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Alberto.

    Hi Jürgen,
I also tried this option but then the following error appeared:
"Message no. F5598: Posting keys for account determination for transaction BUV do not exist".
Some point is forcing the PGI to ask for BUV operation (Tx. OBYA).
    Thank you for your contribution.

  • Clearing account

  • IHC Incoming payment - no posting on clearing account

    Hello together,
I need some help with the processing of an external bank statement. I try to read an incoming payment from an external bank statement (MT940). When I post the bank statemenat with FEBAN I get two documents: one for general ledger and one for IHC. IHC posts only on one account (subsidiary) but the posting on clearing account is missing. I also don't find a payment order in IHC0. I've checked table BKKIT but there is really just one posting for each incoming payment. I've activated IHC partner (transactions BF12, BF22,BF 23), customized the BTEs 2810 (BKK_IHB_BASTA_IN_CHECK, IHC_APPL_XBS_POST) in BF 32 and I've entered an FI account for IHC in "Set Up Account Determination for Incoming Payment". Do you have any idea why it doesn't work?
I'm looking forward to your replies!
    Best regards
    Sabine

    Hi Kalyan,
thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I'm still not sure if the whole posting process ist clear to me. I especially don't understand the IHC postings.
Let's make an example. Like you have suggested we have two companies: Company 1000 is the head quarter and IHC is assigned to it. Company 1000 acts as clearing partner for IHC, too. Company 2000 is a subsidary of 1000 and has an internal bank account at in-house bank.
Let's assume that the whole group makes some kind of external cash pooling. Subsidary 2000 transfers 100,- to the external bank account of head quarter 1000. Company 1000 gets an external bank statement including this transfer.
Step 1: First the external bank statement is being processed with FF.5 and FEBAN. Here are the resulting postings:
    GL
       Bank Comp. 1000                     Clearing Bank
       100    ¦                                  ¦  100
    IHC
IHC Account Comp. 2000                  Clearing IHC
        100     ¦                               ¦  100
Step 2: At the end of day the general ledger transfer is executed with transaction F9HI. There are only postings in GL resulting from this transaction (highlighted with >> <<).:
Bank Comp. 1000                   Bank Clearing                 IHC Clearing
       100    ¦                         >>100<<  ¦  100                     ¦ >>100<<
Additionally there are some postings in the local systems of subsidiary 2000 and of the clearing partner (processing of internal bank statements provided by in-house bank).
Everything works fine except of the posting on account Clearing IHC (see step 1). Obviously IHC allows partial bookings. Is there any possibility to enforce a posting on the IHC clearing account?
Hope you can bring some light in the dark of spro.
    Best regards
    Sabine

  • Valuation clearing account

Can anyone explain me what is the use of Valuation Clearing Account ? Transaction code 8KEN
    Documentation in IMG says
In this step you specify profit and loss accounts for valuation
differences that arise in business transactions between group companies.
What kind of value differences there might be? Currency differences?

This is part of PCA (Profit center accounting).  The system is asking you to setup accounts because you may have differences that arise from a cross-company deliveries between two profit center balance sheet accounts.  Therefore, this can only be cleared using a valuation transfer account.  This account is also required if you have differences in transfer pricing.  Hope that helps.
