Import Topology Failure

Importing a physical topology into a new, empty 11g.1.1.5 master repository from a working 11g.1.1.5 master repository fails with error message:
java.lang.String cannot be cast to com.sunopsys.sql.Dbint
A review of the target Physical Technologies (e.g. MicrosoftSQLServer and TurboImage) shows empty datatypes folders.
Steps to recover:
1) Type everything in manually (I've done this before)
2) Write a python program to crawl the exported XML and fix/delete the error (I've done this before)
Any suggestions?

If I've understood what's going on here correctly, then it appears to be a misunderstanding of the purpose of CSS Export files. CSS Export files are not CSS files: they are SQL files produced by previously performing a CSS Export from APEX of CSS files uploaded to the CSS repository.
It seems that what you have is a CSS file, in which case the first step is to do such an upload to the repository, before referencing it in application page templates (or indeed creating a CSS Export SQL file for deployment elsewhere).
You need to use

instead of

Getting error while importing topology,scenarios from 11.3 to ODI 11.5

Recently I had installed ODI 11.1.5.
Now I am importing topology and scenarios exported from my older ODI 11.1.3 via shell script on Linux machine.
There around 25 topology and around 40 scenarios.When i execute the script out of these some topology and scenarios get imported and for rest i get following error.
Imported files are not persistent.Sometimes same file got imported and when I execute next time the same file gives error.

We have another doubt while execuing scenarios using ODI Java EE Agent in ODI 11.5:
We have one customized jar which we use in our scenario at runtime.
In case of Odi 11.1.1.3 Version, there is a location
<Middleware>\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\odi_Server1\tmp\_WL_user\oraclediagent\ev3fsn\war\WEB-INF\lib
where we can put customized jar, so that at runtime oraclediagent picks up this jar from the given location,
but in ODI 11.1.1.5 Version,
at the given location <Middleware>\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\odi_Server1\tmp\_WL_user\oraclediagent\ev3fsn\war\WEB-INF\
there is no <lib> folder for oraclediagent.
Is there any different path for the same lib folder in 11.1.1.5? or is dere a miss ?

DEV: MAster Rep, Work Rep Internal ID's are different.

Is it possible to import the failure cases from another test plan in MTM ?

Is it possible to import the failure cases from another test plan? For example, I have created a new test plan with ID 1002. Now I want to import the failure cases from test plan with ID 1001. Is there anyway to do this?

Hi Leslu,
As far as I know, there isn’t that feature in MTM, but we could achieve that by add test cases to the test suite.
As we know, the test case is associated to the test suite, remove the test case from the test suite won’t delete the test case, it just remove the relationship.
So, we could base on the test cases’ id to add the test cases to a test suite of another test plan.
The condition is:
Work Item Type In Group Test Case Category
ID In id1,id2 (e.g. 1,2,)

IPhoto import Browser failure, after security update?

Hi, Anyone else had this problem?
iPhoto import Browser failure.
No Events or Albums show, although PhotoBooth is visible, error message 'Open iPhoto 5 or later to see photos...'
This used to work, but not since installing Security Update 2010-006 (1.0),
with "iTunes" (10.0.1) and JavaForMacOSX10.6Update3.
Using iPhoto '09 (8.1.2), iMovie '09 (8.0.6).
Heard mention that now only alpha-numeric characters are allowed for file names and titles, so started replacing "&", apostrophes, etc. But there are a LOT of photos to change!
Console shows:

MRMovieServer[273] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure
Tried repairing permissions, but got a warning about a SUID file has been modified and will not be repaired, (not sure if this is relevant).
Removed com.apple.iApps.plist and com.apple.iMovie8.plist, which then gave a slightly different view of the browser in iMovie.
Can no longer drag items from iPhoto either!
Any ideas of how to proceed (and remain sane)?

I've had something like this, since October.
Firstly, In the Utilities folder, open Disk Utility, select the disk where the Applications are (Main hard disk) click First Aid, then "Repair Permissions". Leave it running with nothing else open.
When finished, open iMovie, click the photo browser icon, any luck?
Seen an Apple support doc 'Cannot see iPhoto in other Apps', basically you may be right about ampersands & apostrophes.
In iPhoto, look at all your smart album names for non-alpha-numeric characters, and replace or delete the possible culprits. I had lots of these, including brackets (which were not a problem until recently). Keep checking your smart albums to find others, such as these: !@£$%^&()[]{}'\"|~.
Quit iPhoto and all other iLife Apps, then in your home folder, Library, Preferences, move 'com.apple.iApps.plist' to the desktop (this will be recreated when you next open an iApp/iLife application, such as iPhoto).
You may need to remake the iPhoto AlbumData.xml file, after all that name editing. See later.
Open iMovie and click the photo browser icon, if you still get the message, rather than Albums and Events, Quit iMovie.
Open iPhoto, double check your source list for folders which you may have smart albums in, (click the triangle to the left of any folders that you've made to reveal their contents). Repeat the search and replace of special characters. I'd missed a few, hiding in folders.
Now would be a good time to remake the iPhoto 'AlbumData.xml' file.
Quit all applications, go to your Pictures folder, iPhoto Library, ctrl-click, 'Show package contents', drag 'AlbumData.xml' to the desktop.
Close the finder windows.
Open iPhoto, create a new album, then Quit, (this should remake the xml file).
Open iMovie again and click the photo browser icon. This is the point where I had success, I hope it works for you as well.

Problem in Importing Topology

Hello,
I was on Sunopsis v3 and this morning I have installed ODI.
I keep all my Sunopsis v3 environment and I decide to only install ODI (no upgrade) just for testing difference between the 2.
When all the installation was done I decide trying to import some of my project to see differences.
So I began by Exporting my V3 Topology and then I have imported it in ODI but ...
This import in ODI only gives me the Logical Schema but nothing in the Physical Architecture.
Moreover after Importing what ODI can, it has created an snpstemp directoy with a lot of XML files (representing Connexion, Agent,... all what ODI didn't import).
Do you know why the Import Topology didn't work well ? What do I have to do ?

Hi,
It is not the good way to do this ...
You have to dump your repository (on oracle with datapump or exp/imp).
Reimport it in a new schema/db called ODI_(MASTER and/or WORK). Then run the "master repository upgrade" tool toward this copy of master. When its done connect to upgraded master repository and then with right click on you work repository, run the work upgrade...
It' s not so complicated.
And it is stated that the XML export and import between v3 and v10 doesn't work.

Publish Topology Failures after 1 of our Domain Controllers Failed

We had a domain controller fail and have decided we will not bring it back into production as it is an old server. We have seized the PDC, RIM and Infrastructure Master roles to another DC on the network. After doing this I rebooted te Lync server and but

The LDAP server it is trying to connect is the failed one. Why is it only trying this 1 server when we have 3 other DC's in the domain?
Not sure where to start here so any help would be appreciated!!

Import File Failure, Help!

Hello, I am new to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and thought i would start by working my way through the Adobe "Classroom In a Book" CS4. I made a start through the early chapters then almost instantly hit a problem. What ever I tried to import e.g. Panasonic P2, Still images below 4000x4000, .avi. Basically all the material that was supplied on the Dvd that come with the book, I get the message "Import File Failure" "File Video Dimentions (Width/Height) Too Large".
I've tried restarting the computer but no luck, really gutted as I need to learn this program before next semester
I've also made sure my sequence sizes are the same size as my assets
I am running the Adobe Suite on a MacBook Pro 2.53GHz with Snow Leopard (10.6.4)

Try reading through the results of MY SEARCH to see if anything applies. You may just need to uninstall CS4 and then reinstall it.

Word import footnote failure

Hello. I have to import lots of Word documents (in .doc format, not .docx) with footnotes. In many cases, not all footnotes are imported. Some are rendered as a rectangle with a cross usually denotes a character unavailable in the present font. However, in this case, not font displays that mysterious character. With the footnote reference, the footnote itself disappears, too. In many cases, the footnote import just stops at some point in the document, all following footnote references are omitted. In other cases, footnote references are resumed after omitting some (usually one), continuing the count.
The errors seem independent of the type of .indd they are imported into and of the import settings (manual style mapping or no … ), but to depend entirely on the Word file. Each .doc produces the same mistakes whatever way the have been imported. I can't find any mistake in the .doc, though.
As you can of course imagine, this is most troublesome, since it requires to insert footnotes manually. Any idea on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yup -- been there, seen it, took some photo's for the album too.
I work with CS4 on a daily basis, and this is, unfortunately, not uncommon for that version too. It seems to depend on the version of Word that saved the files; for some clients, I have no problem at all, for another one, every single file fails to import correctly.
If you have a CS3 installed somewhere, or know someone who has, you can import the document with that and save as a regular ID file. Then open that with your version, and all the footnotes are there. (It works flawless with CS4, but the jump from CS3 to CS5 is at times too large; so, for safety/sanity reasons, open in CS5, export to IDML, open that again.)
If you don't have a CS3, you can try to open the document in Word and save as another format -- RTF might work. (Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.)

Importer Process failure

I am trying to import a simple Rendered .MOV file previously created on After Effects, however when i bring the file in to premiere CS4 the
ImporterProcessServer.exe fails and then an Premiere Pro error message popped up saying the dimensions are too large (1050x576) I thought this may
be the problem so amended my error by making the clip suitable for PAL widescreen. This still does not work and the same error messages appear.
However, a colleagues project accepted different .MOV files but with exactly the same dimensions, and our premiere projects had the same settings.
At a later date i tried to import one of my problem files to my colleagues project which originally accepted similar .MOV files, but to no success.
Could my original AE project be corrupt, or is there any problems surrounding exporting a .MOV (created and rendered on a MAC After Effects CS4) to a
PC?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Keynote Import Eror / Failure

I created a beautiful presentation in Keynote on my Mac and imported it into my iPad and had it working. Then I deleted it from my iPad, made some more changes on my Mac version and now when I try to import it into my iPad Keynote I get the error "Presentation couldn't be imported. Unknown import error". Any suggestions? I hate to lose all this work and not be able to use my iPad for the presentation.

The problem started when I added a text box onto a picture slide with content copied from Wikepedia. There is something embedded in the file now and deleting the text box or the slide does not fix it and I cannot import the presentation into Keynote on the iPad.

Import Site Failure -- 4 to 8

I finally upgraded to Dreamweaver 8 from version 4. There is
no direct import of sites from 4, I understand. Prowling the
support site, it said to download the Site Import Export extension.
Did that and installed it, although I got a warning that it
would affect Dreamweaver 8 (I called the Extension Manager from 4).
I didn't realize at first that the extension was being installed
into 8, apparently.
I finally figured out that I had to go to 8 and select Export
Site from the File menu. It showed all my sites, and said it
exported them successfully.
I did notice, however, that it wrote a file with an XML,
rather than STE, extension.
When to File, Import Site, then, and imported that file. It
said that my sites were successfully added, and that I had to quick
and restart Dreamweaver 8. When I restart, it lists the added
sites, which are the ones I imported -- but then when I manage
sites, there are no sites listed.
Wondering if that extension had screwed up normal Dreamweaver
8 behavior, I uninstalled and then reinstalled 8.
Still the same result -- I go through this, get a popup that
tells me new sites have been added, but then they aren't there.
Any ideas would be welcome, I was hoping not to recreate my
site definitions manually.

Bug report: import image failure

When I try to import images (formatted as either .gif or
.jpg) some fail to load and a blank outline of the appropriate
dimensions appears. Images that fail to appear have been set to
grayscale and/or RGB, and have a file size less than 200 KB.

We are currently investigating this issue and will update
shortly.

Lightroom 4 and 4.1beta video file import error/failure

Findin that Lightroom 4 and 4.1 are not importing video/movie files. Without exception every attempt made has resulted in an error.
In many cases just the first frame gets imported and converted to a low grade jpg image.
The same files import cleanly in to Aperture 3.x without difficulty.
Software glitch? Or my brain cramp?

Lightroom 3 Import - Rename Failure

I am importing about 60 images from a built-in card reader. In the process of copy and import, I am renaming the files as I always have done with prior versions. I notice that the first image does NOT get renamed. All other images worked as expected. As I was starting the renaming with a sequence starting at #1, the first image was not changed but the second image is #2 properly in the sequence!

Cannot reproduce on Windows XP.
What exactly is your filename template on import?
