Important workflow issues

Question

Two simple things that significantly speed workflow when building spreadsheets with more than one or two formulas:
(1) Has anyone found a keystroke command for making cell references absolute (e.g., toggling them from a1 to $a$1). In Excel for Windows, the button is F4. In Excel on the Mac, it is cmd-t. Is there a Numbers equivalent?
(2) When typing a formula, is it possible to use the arrow keys to select cells to be referenced rather than having to use the mouse? In Excel, the mouse is an option, but I can keep my hands on the keys (and thus work more quickly) by selecting cells with the arrows.
Example: starting in A3 and trying to add B1+C1 is "=<up><up><right><enter> + <up><up><right><right><enter><enter>" It doesn't look very fast typed out like that, but a few extra keystrokes are many times faster than having to grab for a mouse, find where the pointer is, navigate the pointer to the target, and then select the target.

I don't have Excel on my machine, it doesn't have some of the layout benefits that Numbers does so it was never truly useful to me.
However, with what you describe I can see how such a thing would be very useful for complex spreadsheets. After a little playing, Numbers doesn't allow that, but what they do allow, as you stated, is for the same thing but instead of using arrows and pressing the "+" key is you can simply click. Or click and drag out if you're talking a series of cells.
Which one is better I guess comes down to which you're more comfortable in. Personally I can see clicking and dragging out cells instead of navigating with arrows and pressing "+" being more efficient but that may not be true for someone who's used to doing it another way.
My experience with Numbers so far is that they took the approach of where Excel relies quite a lot on the keyboard, Numbers relies more on navigating with the mouse.
