Les ajoutés manuellement chaque semaine serait trop long.

<produits>
     <categorie>Catégorie
          <produit>
               <nom>Nom</nom>
               <ref>Référence</ref>
               <image href="file://..." />
          </produit>
          <produit>
     </categorie>
</produits>
Merci

  • Is there a way to automate an indesign catalogue so that it populates fields from excel?

A client has seen a competitor present a catalogue and shows how from an excel or database file this indesign template can be populated with text and with images from a filename listed in the the excel.  Does anyone know how to do this or can you suggest a program that can do it - have a meeting in the morning and supposed to be all over this so any assistance much appreciated.

    Use Data Merge.

  • InDesign files automatically openning in Acrobat Pro 9.0

I just upgraded to CS3.3 Premium w/Acrobat Pro 9.0 from CS2 and now my ind files automatically open in Acrobat 9.0. Ind files all have the Acrobat 9.0 icon, which I went into properties > opens with to change (ie. program files > Adobe > InDesign CS3) and Windows will not accept the change. Actually when I click "ok" no error message appears, but 'opens with' still shows Acrobat Pro 9.0.
It gets wierder. If I go into properties and change 'opens with' to the IND short cut on my desktop, it changes, however when I attempt to open a ind file I get the error message 'file is not a valid Win32 program.'
I am running XP Media 2005 SP2, on an HP desktop, with an AMD 64 2.4 duo, 4 gigs RAM.
Any else have a similar issue?
    Thanks, Anton

    Anton,
I to had this problem just today and could not find any good help on file associations. I am running XP Pro on Windows. I uninstalled CS2 and still had CS3 on the computer. All associations for InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop went away. The only information I could find did not work.
This is what I did and it worked. I opened Control Panel, then File Options, and then the tab "File Types". I scrolled to the INDD extension and highlighted it. Then I chose the Advanced Tab, selected "new", typed in "Open" for the action and selected the InDesign.exe file. All Indd files associated with InDesign CS3.
I also repeated the same to get the AI and PSD files to associate.
I hope this is the right way to make the change, no guarantees, but so far it is working. Even CS and CS2 file versions show the CS3 logo and open correctly.

  • Import image metadata into Indesign CS5 automatically

    Hi,
I've been looking all over for this and I have found various bits and pieces of information, but nothing comprehensive enough for a beginner. Perhaps I am researching it wrong. Could you please point me to a complete and easy to understand source, or give me some tips and details regarding the process?
I don't know if this makes a difference, but I am trying to export my pictures (there's quite a bit of them, so working in batches is preferable) into a sort of catalogue, and I'd like Indesign to pick up the metadata that was edited in Bridge.
    Thank you in advance.

Metadata is still pretty arcane.  The form that Adobe uses, XMP, is designed for automated software manipulation, but the software hasn't reached the point-and-shoot stage.
Now that forum-searching seems to have been fixed, searching for "metadata captions indesign" may turn up useful threads, such as this one for CS4, mentioning a script that can pull metadata from an image for use as a caption in an ID file.
On a more arcane level, when exporting to PDF InDesign does pick up and pass on "object-level metadata" for continuous-tone images: selecting an object with Acrobat 9 Pro's Touch-up Object and then right-clicking will let you choose Show Metadata for the object: the individualized metadata survives, though seeing it takes some doing.
    Good luck!

  • Creating catalogues automatically using image metadata

    Hi,
I've been looking all over for this and I have found various bits and pieces of information, but nothing comprehensive enough for a beginner. Perhaps I am researching it wrong... Could you please point me to a complete and easy to understand source, or give me some tips and details regarding the process? I asked around on the Indesign forum too and I was told it would be a good idea to inquire in this forum too.
I don't know if this makes a difference, but basically I'd like to be able to select a folder(s) full of images and place those images in a pre-made document automatically and group them by the category they are in (which it will also list automatically), while also displaying any other relevant metadata info in various fileds (when applicable). How would I go about doing this?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for answering.
I would like to generate PDFs. It think it would be the ideal format.
    Are any other options easier?

  • Possible to not have InDesign CC automatically generate class names based on 'Style Name'?

In the Export Tagging settings in InDesign CC, there is an option to use a custom tag as well as a custom class name. However, if the class is left blank then the Style Name is used in its place.
Is it possible to not have InDesign assign a class automatically?
Here is my scenario: I would like to not clutter up my HTML markup by having a class name of `body` for all my p tags, when I could simply use p without a class and style it in my CSS.
    Thank you in advance.

This is even worse than a Bug. It's a huge expense.
Even if you make your paragraph style 1 letter, let's say "B" for "Body", You still end up with <p class=B> instead of just <p>. Now multiply that "class=B" by all the lines in your code and your bloat is greater than 10% on a per file basis.
On Amazon a 3 MB file for example costs 45 cents to transmit to a customer. 10% more means an additional 4.5 cents cost per book. Say you sell 100,000 copies of a book, we're talking .045 x 100,000 = $4,500.00. And remember that MOBIs pretty much double the size of your basic EPUB. This is a serious problem, the correction of which cannot be delayed!

  • ISSUE: InDesign document automatically creating "imported" paragraph styles when you open the Layout.

    Hi
I have an InDesign layout that contains multiple boxes, which all have style sheets applied to them.
There are a lot of unused styles on this layout too so these have been organised into folders.
When I close it and re-open the document, it creates all of the styles on the document again at the root level (not in the folder). However, it does not create them correctly, it simply makes them 14pt Times New Roman....
These styles look like they have been imported from Word (they have the little Floppy Disk icon next to their names). If you delete these and then save and re-open, they will be back there again.
However, if I remove them from their folders and place them at the root level, upon saving and re-opening, they won't be re-created (assumably because it can't due to a name conflict).
Any idea what would be causing it to want to create those styles every time?
    The styles it has created:
    Cheers
    Rich

It's not actually linked to a word file.
I was just using that as a way of describing the link it seems to have.
Links panel only contains the link to the one image on the page

  • Why does InDesign CS5 automatically convert a project that I saved on disc to existing project?

I copied a book project that I've been working on for severl months and then I saved it to another disc drive, changed the fonts and formating for an epub, and then saved it. When I went back to my other disc drive to open the book project, it opened with the formating of the epub. I then tried opening a copy of the book from a CD disc and the same thing happened. InDesign keeps reformating eveything to the epub format. What can I do? This is extreamly fustrating. I was ready to have the book published.
    TerryD

I copied the indb along with its 65 indd files and moved them to a secondary drive. I opend the secondary indb file and made changes to each of the indd files (font styles, page layout, etc.) and then I closed the file. Later, I went back and opened the origional indb file on the main drive and I found that it matched the epub file on the secondary drive. In fact, when I opened a backup CD with the origional indb, it too converted to the epub settings. That's what surprised me the most. To eliminate the problem, I erassed both indb packages. I then copied the backup CD to the main drive and everything is back to normal. The issue for me now is future applications. Will I run into this problem when I'm publishing several books (indb) at the same time on one drive? I need to be comfortable with a solution that solves this problem for future applications and the packaging might work. I still need to convert the print version of the book to epub so I'll try the packaging solution this weekend, when I have more time.
Thanks for all your help and I'm sorry about the language issues (book vis isdb). I'm not new to Adobe but I am new to InDesign.

PS: I have not been packaging the files. I've been printing them directly to ps and from there to a pdf file and it preflights just fine in Acrobat.

  • Indesign cs3 automatic cut and paste footnotes from one doc. to another

    Dear Indesign Scripters,
I making a digital copy of the BIble. The Bible is divided into chapters and verses. Each one of my verses has a footnote reference (thanks to Jongware).
    Example:
5Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her. 6 The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her. 7 The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.
    the footnotes read thusly:
    86:5
    86:6
    86:7
I have in a seperate document alll the fotnotes that I have been cutting a pasting from the one document into the main Bible text footnotes
     86:5. Shall not Sion sa...
86:6. Writings. He alone can ...
86:7. The dwelling, &c. Heb. "the...so how can I tell Indesign to take the footnotes from one document and plug it in the footnote reference in the other document?
    If that makes sense?
    thanks for the help.
    Dan

Do not use cut and paste. Flag the photos you want to moe and then select the event you want them in and add flagged photos to selected event

  • How to create interactive PDF in Acrobat Pro 11 from Indesign 6 on a Mac and keep all interactivity?

I've seen much discussion on this topic or issue.
I have a 175 page doucment that needs an active TOC, urls that link, buttons that "go back to TOC" on each page and "to next page - to previous page". You can only see the functions properly in Acrobat Reader.
What's up with that? That doesn't work for my deverse client base.
Is it because this was a file originally created in ID 5? I ask because I have since created a new file, exactly the same way with the same interactive attributes as the file that doesn't work and it works fine.
Is my file too many pages for Acrobat to handle?
Please help, my contract depends on this file working.

What you're asking for is perfectly achievable, but it won't work universally. The page count is immaterial.
Table of Contents entries created in InDesign are automatically converted into links when exported to PDF, provided the hyperlinks option on the PDF export dialog has been checked. They should work fine in any desktop software.
Buttons which link to a fixed page and 'next page/previous page' buttons created in InDesign will use a link method that requires JavaScript - this is fully-supported in the Acrobat Family on desktop platforms, but third-party renderers such as Firefox's internal viewer, and mobile PDF apps, have little or no support for scripting.

  • How can I save individual merged records automatically in seperate folder?

I have several hundred records to pull in via a mailmerge.
one record per page and one per document.
I can do the merge fine, however at present it just keeps all of the records open until I save them which means I can only do these in batches else indesign crashes.
Is there a way I can get indesign to automatically save each individually merged record into a seperate folder? Ideally naming the saved document after two of the fields so the naming convention would be <<id>>-<<name>>
I've seen some stuff about scripting being available to indesign and I don't mind doing the reading and putting in the work to make this happen  - Can anyone point me in the direction of any scripting for indesign quickstart type guides or offer up any other suggestion of how the above may be achieved.
    Many Thanks

There are a couple of ways that this could be done but it involves scripts. See the following adobe forum posts:

  • InDesign crashes with new Mac OS 10.8.2 update

Indesign crashes once I updated to OS 10.8.2 can't use it now as anytime I access it get this message
Adobe InDesign is shutting down.  A serious error was detected.  Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign document.
Had to go to another machine with old version on Mac OS and Olde version of InDesign.  File report of the crash was sent to Adobe.
How do I load another version of InDesign from my Creative Cloud account to see if that would solve it?

It might be an issue with your user Preferences. Delete them and see if this solves your problem. They are located in the user Library folder which is hidden by default on OS X 10.7 and 10.8. You can make if visible by following the steps here http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/04/show-library-directory-in-mac-os-x-lion/. You open the Terminal application and type chflags nohidden ~/Library/ to make your user Library visible.
Now open the Finder and click on your user name. Now navigate to Preferences > Adobe > Adobe InDesign > Version 8.0. Inside the Version 8.0 folder you will see a folder like en_US based on which language you are using. Drag this folder to the Trash. Launch InDesign and see if this fixes the error. The default preferences for InDesign will automatically be re-built upon application launch.

  • Restoring Links - inDesign CS5.5 - Highlighting found links in finder

    In inDesign CS4 -
When I was searching for and re-linking missing links within my inDesign document, I would select the link in the links panel, click the relink icon in the Links panel, and go search for my link. Once I arrived at the folder where the link was housed, either indesign or my finder would highlight (with a light gray bar) the found link which had the same filename + extension. I'm not sure if it was finder or inDesign, but I immediately found my link because it was conveniently highlighted, and then inDesign would relink any other missing links within that same folder.
Since upgrading to inDesign CS5.5 -
I've noticed that when I go to relink a missing file and I've found the folder it's in, my finder no longer highlights the file which has the exact same filename and extension. Does anyone know how to enable this feature, of highlighting file names within the finder when the match the name of the link being searched for? Nothing jumped out at me in inDesign preferences, or in the drop-down menu options of the links panel.
I haven't been able to find any other forum discussions which address this.
Any help is greatly appreciated. This was a very convenient tool that helped me find files quickly and accurately in CS4.

That didn't fix the issue I'm having. In CS4, I could go search in any folder for my missing link and the finder would highlight (with a gray bar) the file (with the same filename + extension) once I found it. It's like the finder/inDesign would automatically select my file in the search, I clicked ok, and the link was fixed, and then it would relink other missing files in that folder as well. At that time, I was searching way outside of the parent - child heirarchy.
Now, in CS5.5, if I get to a folder that has the missing link, it won't auto-select the file (name) for me. I have to read through all the links I have and selct the file (versus just looking for that gray-highlighted file that inDesign automatically selected).

  • Importing a large MS Word file with tables and graphics into InDesign CC

I have a large (300 page) Word file, either doc or docx and I'd like to import it into InDesgn to convert to a Kindle book.  I'm very new to InDesign.
    Thanks
    Derm

You'll need to learn InDesign before you even think about going to epub.
    Books:
Sandee Cohen's Visual Quick Start Guide: http://amzn.to/14JHq54
Digital Publishing with Adobe InDesign CS6 : http://amzn.to/13N06jN
    Lynda.com: Here's a link for a one week trial: http://bit.ly/RS0GXs
Oh, and to answer you question, use file>place and then browse to the
Word file. Then shift click on the first page of the InDesign to
    automatically create enough pages.

  • Linked Images : Automatic Folder Creation for linked images?

    Best Rgards
    Mac OSX 10.9.3
    InDesign CC (9.2.1)
Presently: 120 page Blurb publishing with 190 images
I have created a large number of INDD documents that I piece together from many sources,
such as file folders, internet searches, external drives, emails...kind of grabbing things
from all over the place. usually I publish this as a PDF for local and archival use. Sometimes
using this also for newsletters and other ways to distribute documents as pdf and epub.
I never really paid to much attention to LINKED FILES and where they might
be located, as my intent was PDF and you can publish a very
serviceable Pdf without verifying or correcting MISSING LINKS...
NOW, I am working on a higher end 120 page Photo BOOK to have printed on paper.
I did not organise my image assets into a folder, i should have first. Now as I go to
upload to the publisher I find I have to many missing links to images. So I am going
back through the whole project and organising the assets and re-linking...what a lot of work this is.
I was wondering if InDesign supports automatic creation of assets folder?
As you place images, with their links, the program creates a folder and puts a copy of the file there?
I don't see anything about this subject.
I am wondering why not? It would sure make the work flow speed up. Options for
the format, size, pip etc. Does this exist in InDesign and if not
    wtf not?
Sure would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this. It is to late now to save this
relinking 190 images, but I realise I need to be better prepared with my assets in the
future. I work on a number of publications, some spontaneously and others
more carefully planned...some sort of auto process for asset-linked-folders
seems a simple enough coding issue. It is 2014 already.
???....best rgards, Thanks for any input on this issue.

Thanks to everyone for these answers. I guess the real answer is "no", Adobe software engineers see no reason to create a script which
will place linked files into a folder. To bad. A really serious and lazy oversight in my view. The package function is helpful if one has already
    organised their assetts.
As great as these programs are, this is an oversight of some frustration. As I said in my comments above, it seems an easy enough routine to program
into the app. Why should a user have to worry about collecting details of resources/links for a document?
    Even after all these years?
Best regards, thanks to everyone who contributed some thoughts.
