InDesign Stops Responding During Launch

I'm having a problem with InDesign CS2 (v 4.0.5) on a Mac running OSX 10.3.9. It's been working fine for months, but now when I start InDesign, it stops responding during the "Executing Startup Services" phase.
I've deleted all of the preference files for InDesign, as well as the .plist file. I even removed InDesign from the system and re-installed it, but I'm still having the same problem.
Note that all of the other CS2 applications work fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions for correcting this problem?
Thanks

CS2 runs just fine here in XP mode. I suspect the problem is the activation, which can no longer be accomplished becasue the activation servers were shut down. For licensed users of CS2 programs Adobe has posted downloads of versions that do not require activation at Adobe - CS2 Downloads

  • Iphoto stopped responding during 9.5.1 update

I installed Mavericks last night, and started making required application updates today. After installing the iphoto 9.5.1 update, I opened it up, and there was a prompt about upgrading my library, or something to that affect. When I reached step 11 of 11 in the upgrade, at 39% complete, the application stopped responding, and my laptop is stuck in the middle of the upgrade (going on 3 hours.) I know that applications can gain glitches if you force quit them in the middle of an upgrade/update/download, but I'm at a loss what to do without the risk of glitching/messing up my photo library. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have a backup copy of the library made before you began the upgrade?  If so then force quit out of iPhoto and launch it again.
If you have any problems with the library quit again and try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.
If all of this fails reatore the backup copy of the library and open it with iPhoto.

  • Firefox stops responding during Gmail and Google, why?

The last few weeks, Firefox 4.1.0, on my XP SP3 system, stops responding while I am sending Gmail, frequently, stopping the transmission. Today, for the first time, it stopped responding while I was searching on Google.
The LAST thing I want to do is go back to Microsoft's IE.

Well, clearing cookies and cache over and over does not work.
Also, Firefox stops working with many sites now and I am tired of closing it down every 3 minutes. So, my solution this morning was to import my bookmarks to Google Chrome and it worked. After using Firefox for many, many years, I will now be using Google Chrome.

  • Windows Server Essentials Connector stops responding during install Win 7 Pro to 2012 R2

I am trying to reconnect a Win 7 Pro computer to a new  Essentials 2012R2 and when it asks me to set it up for just me or multiple users a message pops up saying
it has stopped responding. It sets up a profile of _clientsetup_$ and it shows up in dashboard as an offline device. This computer was hooked up to an Essentials 2012R2 previously. Tried uninstalling the connector software, removing the computer from the domain,
renaming the computer and re-installing the connector software from the http://(server)/connect. Even tried backing up the existing profiles and creating a new clean one and went through the above procedure with the same results. I set up 4 others
with no issues and it would be the bosses computer that fails. I am a newbie so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,
    Sorry for my interrupting.
Would you please let us know whether this problematic client computer was upgraded to Windows 7 Pro from a previous OS? Did you install any third-party application on this Windows 7 Pro client computer? Just a confirmation, thanks for your understanding.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • Script: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/download.xml:68 stops responding during downloads

I am stilling having an issue with Script: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/download.xml:68 as I posted here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/795085?as=aaq and am still having this problem 11 versions of firefox later. Is there any fix for this?

The circumstances are downloading a file. My browser pretty much locks up any time I download a file be it a small jpeg or a large exe. I used to get a pop-up window alerting me that the script in my first post had stopped responding and gave me an option of ignoring or stopping it. Once stopped downloads would be fine until I restarted firefox and again got the notice (I don't always get the notice, but I do always get the lock-ups).
It happened this time when I had stuff in my download history, it was about 25 files.
I am going to restart and try downloading the file again that gave me the script stop with my download history clear and will report back here.
[edit]No luck getting a lock up again just yet. I will do some more testing with a full download history and without it full.
Is there any where that I can just disable this script all the time? I've looked for it in about:config and don't see it there.

How can this dependency of clearing the queues be removed once and for all for good?

  • Curve 8530 Has Stopped Responding During Wipe - I'm In Deep Trouble!

    Hi Gang,
I'm in a bit of a jam and hopefully someone here can assist. I've searched the forum for an answer but couldn't locate one.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and it's been experiencing some freezing from time to time.
    Model:  BlackBerry Curve 8530
    Carrier:  Koodo Mobile (Canada)
    Software Version:  5.0 Bundle 1108
I decided tonight to backup all of my data and do a "Security Wipe" from the options menu.
I selected both options, typed "blackberry" and clicked "wipe".
I currently have the popup on my screen that says:
    "Erasing Information...
Warning: Do not pull the battery out until erasing is complete."
On top of this popup is the dreaded little Blackberry clock with the spinning hand going around and around (like an hourglass would on a PC when it's "thinking").
It's been like this for almost two hours now and doesn't appear to be responding any longer.
The clock will occasionally disappear, only to re-appear a minute later.
I'm scared to pull the battery because it warns not to on the popup. I've tried to power it off with the Power Button but to no avail. No buttons do anything.
What should I do? I've never had an issue like this and I'm worried that I'll be in for a lot of headaches if I pull the battery.
Can anyone offer any advice or assistance? Have you run into this issue before? What happens if I pull the battery contrary to their warning not to?
I'm kind between a rock and a hard place...and it's 2:45AM here on the East Coast of Canada...want to try to get this fixed before I go to bed if anyone is awake and reading this.
    Many, Many Thanks In Advance,
    Jeff

  • CC Indesign stops responding when waking computer. Solution?

    OSX 10.9.5
    Indesign CC 2014 10.1.0.71 Build
Everytime I wake up my computer in the morning, after being asleep from the evening before, Indesign becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit and restart the application. This happens on a regular basis. None of my other programs that are open at the same time have this issue. Anyone else having these issues?

  • LabVIEW 8.0.1 stops responding during edit/save

Five times I tried to edit and save this program.  Five times LabVIEW goes brain-dead.  On page 4 of the Tab control there are 4 XY graphs.  They were initially copied from page 1 and thus showed 4 plots although I was only feeding one of them each.  I was attempting to edit these graphs thusly:
    1. change Plots shown to 1
    2. change plot color to red
    3. change plot line width.
After attempting to make all these changes and save the VI 4 times and getting the same negative results I decided to make the changes incrementally and see what happens.  I managed to change "plots shown" and save it; but when I then tried to make the other two changes and save it . . . brain-dead again.
I make no claims of prettiness or efficiency in this code; it is strictly exploratory at this point.
I'm running XP Pro (SP3) w/512M RAM.  This has not been an issue in the past.  I did recently install SP3 and haven't used LabVIEW a whole lot since.
Any ideas what may be going on here?
    Thanks

Based on your previous experience I would wonder if the same situation is occurring, and whether you may have a hardware problem.
