Info broadcasting. to save a calculated workbook.
Hi,
I have a task to place the calculated workbook to the specified directory of the BW server or somewhere in FTP.
I use precalculation server and everything works well, and then requires that the BW server will finally saved this workbook on the server itself, or somewhere in ftp.
I do not need to send reports by mail or in the portal.
Do you have any ideas?

When I say that processing happens on precal server means it actually does the formatting of the report on precal. The actual data or query processing happens on App server and then data goes to Precal there it gets formattted as per the output type of broadcast. And again it comes back to SAP from there MAIL will be triggered.
You can check the mail status in SOST transaction.

Info Broadcaster Schedule by first N workdays?
1) How can I set up an Info Broadcaster schedule to run and email a report only on the first N workdays of the month?
2) Also need to do a report one only on the last workday of the month.

For that you need to define time for broadcasting settings, as mentioned below:
You define the various times for scheduling Broadcast settings by defining background jobs in the following way:
1. Select Define Job from the SAP menu, or use transaction SM36. This brings you to the Define Job screen.
2. Use the following naming convention when entering the job name: TP_BROADCASTING_
3. Choose Start Condition. This brings you to the Start Date Value dialog box.
4. Choose Date/Time. The corresponding fields appear.
5. Enter the desired values and highlight Execute Job Periodically.
6. Choose Period Values. This brings you to the Period Values dialog box.
7. Choose the desired value and save your entries. This brings you back to the Start Date Value dialog box.
The following values are supported for Information Broadcasting:
§ Daily
§ Weekly
§ Monthly
§ Other periods (only based on Day/Week/Month)
8. Choose Save. This brings you back to the Define Job screen.
9. Choose Step. This brings you to the Create Step 1 dialog box.
10. Choose ABAP program and enter the ABAP program RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINTi into the Name field. Save your entries.
11. Choose Save in the Define Job screen.

Hi,
We have a used setup with SU01 date values of mm.dd.yy
When they run a query it returns US format dates as you would expect.
When we run a workbook (same query as above) through the Info Broadcaster it lands with European dates dd.mm.yy
This can't be standard - are there US users out there who receive Info Broadcaster workbooks with US cal days in them?

The time setting you maintained in SU01 will have impact only for those users. If you want to maintain the same time standards, then Goto TCode -> SPRO ->SAP NetWeaver->General Settings->Time Zones->Maintain System Settings & Maintain Time Zones

How to create SAVE button in Workbook using BI IP Functionality
Hi All,
I have Real-time Infocube (ZCUBSDID) with me. Planning has been done on the cube using BI-IP (like Aggregation level, filter, planning function and planning sequence are present there).
As an Input i have everything in Quality system like I can access query in Bex Anlyzer (Input Ready Query) and also i have workbook associated with the query. SAVE button is also present on workbook which is giving result based on fiscal year and version.
Now my task is to create workbook on Development system with the same functionality as Quality System.
I have same Query available on DEV system also. I created new Workbook but SAVE button is not available in my workbook.
Can anyone suggest how to create SAVE button in my new workbook.
I am new in IP side so please let me know if i can get any help from workbook which is already present in Quality system.
Which type of analysis i should do to come out with solution.....otherwise let me know step by step procedure to create SAVE button on workbook using BI-IP functionality.

Save button in workbook not working
Hi,
We have a SAVE button in Workbook using BI IP Functionality.Usually users will enter data through this which will be saved in real time cubes.
Data is inputted in workbook and SAVE button is clicked to save the data,This button is integrated in workbook itself.After that when we proceed to close workbook a popup appears saying that "unsaved planning data will be discarded.Do u want to continue".
This means that data is not able to save.
Pls help on this.

We are on BI 7.
I executed the query in BEx analyzer. I got the result as per what I enter on the variable selection screen.
Now I right-click on the result screen ->Info Broadcaster.
I have schedule and run this on the background job. No problem. The reason why I do this (using Info Broadcaster and schedule as background job) is I want to cache the result in memory so that query will have better response time.
My question now is:
1) Do you know if we should schedule this as background job or should we do it via Process Chain? (I am not sure how we can do this via Process Chain, can you please show me the steps?)
2) How can schedule and cache all the navigation steps (free characteristic) available on the query via Info Broadcaster?
3) Do we have other better way to improve the query performance? (I have also Aggregate built).
Please advise, thank you.You can use program: RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH to broadcast reports using process chain.
Steps:
1. Create broadcasting settings for the report in Bex Broadcaster. Give a variant name for that settings.
2. Using this program create a program variant in which you need to mention the Variant name of broadcasting settings (created in step 1) for that particular report(s).
3. Add the Program step in process chain with the program variant you have created in step 2.
4. Schedule the process chain.

Impossible to "save as" a workbook in a role
Hello All,
I would like to know which authorization object allow an end user to save as a workbook into a role.
So far, our user only allowed to "save as" a workbook within their favourites folders, role folder is not display for them. I cannot find which authorization object is linked to this fonctionnality.

Info Broadcasting - Unwanted link in report
We are using the BEX Information Broadcaster to publish web templates as HTML files into Knowledge Management folders on the portal. The finished report has a generated link to an "Overview Page for Precalculation." We do not want the users to be able to access this page (which is created during the broadcasting process).
We can go into the HTML of the finished report and edit the link out but we want to change the Info Broadcasting settings so that the link is not generated during the publishing process.

Please provide me steps to Plan and save a data in a real time cube using workbook.
I have gone through different articles in SDN and tried to relicate but failed to save the data.

You will have to follow the below steps to create a workbook which can save data in realtime cube.
1. First create Aggregation level(mandatory for input ready query which can save data) in Planning Modeler.
Aggregation level you will have to create on Reatime cube.
Transaction code for Planning modeler is RSPLAN.
2. After you have created aggregation level .
-> Create Query in Query Designer on the Aggregation level.
3. Make sure that you have made the setting for keyfigure as Input-ready.
Also make sure to make you have set the Query Property as 'Start Query in Change mode".
-> Then only query will be eligible for entering and saving the data on execution.
4. Now when you execute the query in Bex Analyser and save it as Workbook.
-> Data can only be entered and saved when the query open in input-ready mode.
5. The best way to check in Bex analyser whether query is input-ready or not is
-> In the query result layout , use Right lcik of Mouse -> then in the context menu
-> you should see the following two options apart from other options
Two options are:
1. Transfer plan values
2. Save values
If you get these two options then query is input ready and you can enter data and save it in realtime cube using the
Right mouse click -> Save values
6. If query is not coming as input-ready then it means that not all charateristics are drilled down
-> means that rows does not contains unique records.
In that case you will have to drilldown to make each rows contain unique records.
-> The best way is to restrict the characteristics with variable or single values in filter area.
-> this will give you drilldown data and so the query will come as input-ready.

Save report vi saves all excel workbook pages to HTML
Hello,
I am using the Save Report to File VI to save an Excel workbook, and then to save the open Excel file to HTML. However, it is saving all the pages of the workbook in such a way that the web browser can access all the sheets of the workbook. I only want the active sheet saved. How do I do this?I'm honestly not sure how to get which page is "active". I imagine there is a property you can find (either via ActiveX, Properties Nodes or some other means) which will tell you an index that is active then you can customize your report around that. Could you attach what you have now and maybe I can look for a way to do it?

Because of the performance issues that we previously experienced with FDM's MultiLoad functionality, we've been using UD5 and UD6 and an adapter customization to load Year and Period. Now, when there are intersection check errors, instead of the intersection check report automatically opening in a new tab, I get a "File Download" message box with Open and Save buttons. If I choose Open, I get the "404 - File or directory not found" error. If I choose Save and save the file to a local path, I never get the option to open the file and the "Processing. Please wait..." message runs forever.
Per the FDM ReadMe, I've installed MSXML 3.0 SP7 on both the FDM server and client machines. I've set security to the lowest setting in IE 7. -
Info broadcaster - falls over when more than 2 queries are in a workbook
Hi everyone,
We use IB reports extensively with over 2,000 IBs being sent out weekly.
I have a query I want so send out via IB and I can create an IB setting on the query without issue. However when I insert more than one version of the query in a workbook, and try to create an IB setting on the workbook, IB falls over once I select Create new Setting.
Its a fairly chunky query, we have no issues running the query in the Analyser and we have a number of workbooks with 20+ sheets and the query on each sheet, the workbook is fine.
Its just when we create an IB setting we have issues.
Anyone encountered this in your own businesses?

We can't say that the Broadcasting is successful,if you are abe to precalculate through backend.This just for a testing of preclaculation server and not for broadcasting.
If you are able to broadcast through web, then only we can say it is succeeded.
