Info needed for Lexmark printer App

I need the following for my Lexmark Printer Application to be able to print from my samsung note 4 cellphone to my wireless lexmark printer:   (1)  The server address, (2) IP address, and (3) Host Name.             thanks

Hi,
I replaced my Z10 with a new one. I used the Blackberry link to restore the data to my new device. I configured the mails and applications i normally use.
However i started getting notification in the BB hub for Twitly and some other apps that I cannot guess as only user ID was mentioned in the prompt.
I had stopped using Twitly about 6 months ago and there fore it should not have been in the backup i made last (the one i sued during restore).
Please help.

  • Just bought pro with new os installed - will not let me run install disk for lexmark printer

just bought pro with new os installed - will not let me run install disk for lexmark printer?

Is that disc for Mac systems or Windows ?
I suggest you visit Lexmark web site and download and install drivers for your exact printer manually.

  • After software update for Lexmark printer, cannot print document as a file is missing. My iMac runs with Snow Leopard.

I have a Lexmark 3500 - 4500 series printer connected to my iMac via USB (as my iMac won't do the printing wirelessly. My iMac runs with Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, Version 10.6.8.
A few days ago, there were several software updates that I have installed as there was mention that they were for Mac OS X Lion.
Today, I tried to print a document, and it failed. The error message was: "Missing component: /Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/3500-4500 Series Color 2.lut".
I have re-installed the software from Lexmark without success.
Has anyone had a similar issue who can advise me, please?
    Thank you.

Have you tried installing the Lexmark software from the Apple site:
Lexmark Printer Drivers v2.4 for Mac OS X v10.6
You are running 10.6 which the above link is for, maybe Lion (10.7) doesn't need everything that 10.6 does. Try re-installing using the above link.

  • Looking for HP printer App/Icon to save on desktop

Hi - I am presently using Windows 8.1 operating system. In a previous version of Windows, I had installed a HP app/icon for printing photos and saved it on my desktop screen, the app looked like a picture of a "small HP printer" and it was very convenient when I wanted to print single photos on photo paper. After selecting my options on that printer app such as choosing a 2x3 or 4x6 size etc., I could select a photo and drag it to the printer app and it would automatically send a request to my printer to  print that size photo. Now that I've  installed the later version of Windows - (8.1), that printer app has disappeared from my desktop and I can't find out where to download it again. I do have a program installed called "HP Photo Creations" but that program only shows options to select 4x6 or 5x7 sizes etc., it does not give me the option to print a single 2x3 size photo. Anyone know where I could possibly download that small HP printer app/icon? I hope it's still available and can work on Windows 8.1, it really was soooo convenient.
    This question was solved.

    Hi @jank,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you are wondering if an app you used to have is still available for Windows 8.1.
The app you mention in your post predates my time with HP and I had to do some digging around.  I was able to find out that at one time an app similar to the one you mentioned did exist, but no one I worked with was able to remember the name of it or how it worked.  It appears that it is no longer available.

This is the third time I've ordered the SAME book, the first two runs were perfect, but this one is totally unacceptable. My question is: who do I contact about reprinting? They don't make it easy by giving any phone numbers anywhere for customer service. I need these books right away!

  • Help needed for wireless printing.

    Hi
I have tried to set up my printer via the USB connection on the TC and the printer shows up in the Airport Utility, but won't print. When I run network diagnostics, it shows that everything works OK and then the server goes from green to red.
The odd thing is that the printer then prints ' Internal error- incomplete session by time out'.
When I go through the diagnostics I get the following. message. NetworkDiagnostics was able to connect to the internet but not to the server "Samsung SCX-4500 Series.riousbprint.tcp.local
Can anyone suggest a way to get the printer working.
I am new to Mac's and networking so an 'idiots guide' type fix would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

When I go in to do a design with a customer, I make sure I understand the devices that need to use the wireless.  Some things you already know about (the usual wireless devices).  Devices that might impact business, you need the customer to provide info on that device or a contact for that device.  This way you can make sure their requirements are meet.  It doesn't really matter what AP's you use as long as you know what you need to configure to make things work.
I would go with a WLC 5508 and the 3500i (internal antenna).  This WLC has various options for license and depending on how many AP's you need, you can satifiy that with a base license or adding license if you add more later.  YOu can also look at the 1142 AP's, but the 3500 will provide you with the capability of doing CleanAir.

  • Unicode/glyph/font advice needed for porting WinForms app to Macintosh using AIR

I've written an application in WinForms/.NET that I'd like to port to the Macintosh platform. I have never developed for the Mac but it seems as though AIR might be a good choice. I'm totally new to AIR. Some advice and info would be much appreciated!
Can an app be developed in AIR on a PC running Windows and then later be deployed transparently on a Macintosh? Or do I need to be developing on a Mac?
The app is a search interface for use against text-bases comprised of texts composed in ancient European languages. I pre-index the text-base and store it in SQLite as a fully-normalized (1NF) set of relations:  TITLES, WORDS, WORDOCCURRENCES.  So the app is really nothing more than a (query-only) database application with some specialized glyph-rendering requirements.
In the WinForms app, I used a custom third-party edit control with  extensive support for the RTF specification, in combination with some third-party fonts that contain the necessary glyphs for rendering the Unicode characters corresponding to RUNES and to some abbreviations found in medieval manuscripts. BTW, these special non-ASCII characters are represented in the database not as unicode codepoints but as entities that can be represented in standard ASCII (e.g. "þ"   ); when rendered to screen, the correct glyph has to be substituted when the Unicode codepoint for the entity supplied -- in this example the codepoint would be [U+00DE] and a thorn glyph  ( Þ) should be rendered.
Since it might not be possible to find a single omnibus Unicode font that contains a glyph for every codepoint I need to render (what are the most glyph-rich freeware Unicode fonts for Macintosh, btw?)  the text widget must let the programmer "wrap" a Unicode character or series of Unicode characters in whatever font may be required at that point in the text. Is there a rich-text widget for AIR that can do this?  A widget that can render HTML and supports CSS stylesheets would be ideal (inline-CSS-only would be OK too). If the widget had CSS stylesheet support, the string of Unicode codepoints could be wrapped with a <span class='rune'>.....</span> and  the font-name for the .rune class could be specified in the CSS stylesheet.
Thanks very much if you've taken the time to read through this tedious stuff !

Flash Professional started as an animation tool and was expanded with a programming language that became ActionScript (now ActionScript 3.0). Content creators began using Flash to develop applications rather than just animation, so a lot of developer-centric and application-centric functionality was added to Flash, including pre-built user interface components (written in ActionScript). All that functionality and those components are still available in Flash Pro today. However, many developers who came from a traditional programming background had trouble getting into Flash Pro because it is really an animation design tool -- so it uses a timeline, layers, visual drawing canvas, and it required some figuring out to learn how to structure an application in that type of tool.
In response to this, Macromedia (now Adobe of course) created Flex. Flex uses ActionScript just like Flash Pro. Flex also includes numerous user interface controls, written in ActionScript. Flex also adds advanced, flexible layout control and many utilities for common programming tasks like loading data from or sending data to a server, formatting values, validating user input, and more. With Flex, you can define your user interface using an XML markup language (MXML); the compiler then turns the MXML into ActionScript code before turning it into your compiled application. As far as tooling, an eclipse-based IDE called Flex Builder was created that gives you a code editor, a workable but not designer-oriented design view, and other developer tools like debugging and profiling. (Note that Flex Builder has been renamed to Flash Builder for the next release, which is currently in public beta.)
So to generalize, Flash Pro favors a more visual design and animation type of working style, whereas Flex favors a more text-based, code-centric working style. (But that's just a generalization -- many people, especially people who "grew up" with Flash before Flex, still prefer Flash Pro even though they're heavy coders.)
Also, if you want to write everything in code with no pre-drawn visuals (i.e. Flash Pro) and without using MXML or Flex components, you can create your application entirely in ActionScript code. Flex Builder supports ActionScript-only projects for that purpose.
Here are a few links for getting started with Flex, which I would personally recommend if you haven't used either one and you're building something that's more "application" focused rather than media or animation focused:
Flex "Quick Starts" -- short articles focused on specific tasks in Flex
Flex "Getting Started Experience" -- designed as a set of training courses, intended to take 12+ hours to complete (but you can skip around of course)
"Flex in a week" video training -- a free 5-day video tutorial series on Flex
    Flex Developer Center "Learning Paths"
As a side note, the link you included actually goes to the JavaScript version of the documentation, which is what you would want if you are going to use HTML/Ajax to build your app. However, if you're wanting to use Flex you would want to use the Flex version of the documentation:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/mx/controls/HTML.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/flash/html/HTMLLoader.html
And if you're wanting to use Flash, you can use the Flash Pro version of the documentation:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS3LCR/Flash_10.0/flash/html/HTMLLoader.html
Yes, it's somewhat confusing and overwhelming. We're definitely working on improving things in that regard.

  • Looking for Bookmark and Logon info replacements for similar win apps.

    switching from pc to mac...
I used Favorites for bookmarks and RoboForm to fill in logon info. I need to find a new approach...I use a combination of macs and pcs AND IPHONE 3G.
For bookmarks, a web based service sounds logical. It looks like del.icio.us is one of the best...it seems to be featured on many web sites, easy to use, works across all platforms and browsers. Do anyone have any comments or other suggestions?
For logon info, I am thinking of 1Password mainly because they have an IPHONE 3G client. Any comments or suggestions?
It would be nice if one web based applicaton could do both, but I have not found one.
    Thanks
    bob

If you're switching from using a PC to a Mac, then you don't need to synchronize any bookmarks; you can just keep them in your browser, like nearly everyone else. Why reinvent the wheel when the one you have works perfectly well?
As for 1Password, it's the best tool of it's type out there.

  • Recommendations needed for document management app

I want to be able to mail text files in various formats (*.pdf, *.html, *.docx etc) to my iPad, where the
files will then be displayed by title.  I also want to add a couple of sentences of annotation to each item.
I should then be able to display any given item with a click or tap.
I can mail files to my ibook app right now OK but I can't see any way to annotate an ibook entry and I
    really need that.
To review:  Imagine that I am working from my desktop.  I see a file I want to save to my iPad.  I
download it to my PC and mail it as an attachment to my icloud account.  I go to Mail in my iPad
and tap the 'Move' icon. The 'Move' icon gives me the opportunity to save it to the document management app,
whatever it is called.  I then go to that app and annotate the saved file. The annotation appears next to
the file title.  When I tap the entry the file displays.
I assume the right name for an app like this is text management or file management or document management.
    What does this???
    Thanks,
    Fred Hapgood

I do a lot of counselling about a very complicated and dynamic subject.  Right now I have to lug 20-30 pounds of reference texts from point A to point B to point C.  I bought the iPad Air in hopes I could store this material in the tablet.  But the reference material is complicated -- I guess I said that -- and I need lots of words to clarify what the subject is of each pamphlet and brochure, etc, before I can clearly differentiate one from the other.  Imagine I have documents A, B and C.  In the best of all worlds I would see a metadata display that looked like this:
    File A -- Comments
    File B -- Comments
    File C -- Comments
Taking the filenames and the comments together I decide I need to look at C. I tap that and it displays.
That is the best of worlds.  But I see GR allows me to rewrite filenames and maybe doing that will get me to where I want to go.
It does seem strange that with all document-handling packages out there there isn't one that allows comments in metadata.  Oh well.
    Thanks again,
    Fred

  • Info needed for G-Celerator GCD-1250-S4

    Hi
It's possible it's a GigaDesigns CPU upgrade judging from the name:
    http://www.gigadesigns.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=6
I'd hazzard a guess they're dual 1.25GHz G4s. Earlier upgrades were specific to certain G4 models depending on the bus speed (series 100 - Sawtooth/Gigabit Ethernet, series 133 - Digital Audio/Quicksilver), whilst later upgrades could auto sense the bus speed and were compatible with Sawtooth thru Quicksilvers.
If it's 7447 based rather than 7455 based you'd need to apply a firmware update so the boot ROM will recognise that particular G4 variant.
I guess you could always try sending them an email to try and get some additional information.

  • Color assistance needed for commercial printer

    Hi there,
We're a board game publisher about to send our first game to an overseas manufacturer. The game is composed of hundreds of cards with detailed, fantasy art, and we're excited to get this game finally out the door.
We sent the raw, packaged indesign (CS6) files to a local printer to see how everything would look before we have 3,000 copies of the game made overseas. The local printer used the same process that the overseas printer will, a 4 color high-end printer that is certainly impressive to people new to the industry such as ourselves. The sample cards they printed came out with fantastic clarity, but the colors are very muted. It's not a subtle change in color like I might see when toggling RGB to CMYK in photoshop for example. Instead, the colors on the print out look like someone slid a color saturation slider on the entire indesign file down by 25%.
When we print on our low-end inket at the office, the resolution is obviously poor, but the colors look great and match our calibrated monitors. When we export to PDF using "Press Quality", everything looks perfect on multiple computers here and at other locations away from the office. It's only the most important step, printing on a full-blown, commercial printer that the colors look so muted.
Here are some crude photos I took on my phone to help show the difference.
These photos have our office, inkjet printer cards are more colorful and the high-quality commercial printer cards are muted (sorry for the strange alignment, this forum is rotating the images for some reason):
    http://www.watchtowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/photo-1.jpg
    http://www.watchtowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/photo-2.jpg
    http://www.watchtowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/photo-3.jpg
    Different cards here:
    http://www.watchtowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/photo-1b.jpg
    http://www.watchtowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/photo-2b.jpg
I've researched about swatches and color profiles, but all my experimenting hasn't produced any difference on my end. Therein lies the challenge, as I cannot duplicate the problem here at the office. The colors look great in indesign, great in exported PDFs, and great on our inkjet printed cards. Only when we pay a decent amount of money to the local commercial printer do we get these muted colors in our samples. And the local printer says their setup is exactly the same as our overseas manufacturer, which is terrifying. We've spent 17 months agonizing over all the details of the look of our cards for aesthetic purposes and game play so that players can quickly identify each card type by color. These muted colors will really mess the game up. We're pulling our hair out over here.
The local printer has offered to provide a color correction service for us, but at $100 an hour, that sounds like a lot for a new business like ours.
Is there some setting inside indesign that we are missing? Is there a way to replicate the muted colors on our end so we can at least troubleshoot this? Is there a method to turn up the saturation, if you will, for 4 color printing? Should we bite the bullet and pay the local printer an arm and a leg to color correct this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tom
P.S. Also, if it helps, when we had the local printer digitally print a sample, everything looked far too dark, which they said was a side effect of the digital print process.

    Thanks for the response, Rob.
We talked with a local printer as they assured us that their setup was the same standard that the overseas printer uses. They said the sample sheet they printed for us had marks on the edges. Supposedly, once we had everything matching up right with the local printer, we could mail the printed sheet here to the overseas printer and their system would put in the sheet with its colors on the edges and know exactly what we wanted. Heck, if I know. I'm picking this up as I go along.
By your post, it sounds like we have introduced an unnecessary variable (this local printer) and should just cut them out of the process and deal directly with the overseas printer. The challenge is that the next step is for them to make a sample game for us, and at $1,000 a sample game, it's going to get crazy expensive if we have to go through several samples. I'll see if they can just run a single sheet of cards as a test run like you suggested.
If the overseas printer sheet or sample game comes up with the muted color problem still, what steps happen next. I ask because I'm used to solving the issues and don't understand how to solve this one if it comes up again. Do I just tell them to "make it more vibrant" and they work their magic as professional printers, or is the expectation that I'm to go through each of our many illustrations and graphic designs and over-saturate them myself? I suppose we can cross that bridge when we get to it. It's just hard to work for 18 months on this game getting everything just right and now see this color issue that is out my hands that I cannot solve.
For color space, I think I understand you. Most of our art is RGB.Our Proof Setup is "CMYK - US SWOP v2".
    Thanks again for the information.
    Tom
