Initial zoom/fade in effect

I am new to Flex but know Flash and am trying to make the
migration. I always make my Flash movies "build" in the classic
flash fashion of parts fading in and zooming in until the entire
interface is displayed. what is the best way to create these same
effects in Flex? This Flex site in Adobe's gallery does basically
what I am talking about:
http://mortgage.fidelitylabs.com/index.shtml

There are couple of ways to do it. The simplest is with
states. If you use Flex Builder design mode, place a Panel on the
stage. Put some controls in it. Remember that for Flex to scale and
alpha text you must embed the fonts. But leave that for later.
Open the Flex Properties panel in Design Mode and switch to
the Category view. Find the scaleX and scaleY values. Set those to
0.01 (not zero, although that may work). You want to start off with
the Panel scaled small.
Now add a new state (also in Design View), and call it
'zoomedState'. In this new state, change the scaleX and scaleY
values to 1.
You'll need a way to trigger the change from the base state
to the zoomedState. Add updateComplete="currentState='zoomedState'
" to your Application tag.
When run the program you'll probably see just the final
zoomedState. To show the effect, you need to use a Transition. Go
back into your file and switch to Source view in Flex Builder. Add
the following after the </mx:state> tag:
<mx:transitions>
<mx:Transition fromState="" toState="zoomedState">
<mx:Zoom />
</mx:Transition>
</mx:transitions>
When you run the app again, the transition should cause the
Panel to zoom from its initial scale of 0.01 to 1. You can add more
parameters to the Zoom effect tag if you want to change some of the
behavior.
Disclaimer: I usually test what I post, but I'm doing this
off the top of my head. You may need to make adjusts here and there
to get this to work, but the basic idea is correct.

    GB for iPad doesn't have volume automation, you'd need to import the project into GB on a Mac to create the fade with a volume curve.
    as an alt, finish your song and export the audio file, then import the audio file in an audio editor and create a volume fade with that:

  • Is it possible to fade an effect?

    Hi all, new to the forum, so thanks for having me.  I'm relatively new to Premiere, but I have made a few videos that I really liked the outcome on.
    What I would like to do is fade the effect on clips.  I'd like to present a clip without effect for the first part, and then fade into an effect.  Obviously, I need to transition into the effect, I can't have it go from normal in one frame to, say, black and white, in the next frame.
    Is this possible?
    Thank you for any help!

    I have no idea how to change the status to "answered".  And I seem to only be able to respond to this thread through email.  It's like the page is missing a "respond" button.
    There's the "ask a question" bar, should I use that?  But how do I change the status to answered?

  • Fade/appear effect question in DW CS4

    When using the fade/appear effect on a photo in Dreamweaver CS4 I'm having the following problem.  The photo loads in first and then it fades in after.  How do I make so it only fades in with it preloading?
    Thanks,
    BC

    I've never used this effect.  Maybe if you preload the image(s)...
    Go to Behaviors panel.
    Click the plus sign (+).
    From the drop menu, select Preload Images.

  • Quick fade in effect for my some elements in my swf

    is there a quick fade in effect available?

    Hi,
    I have read once again your post and watched the screenshot.
    At the beginning I thought that you used "Fade In" effects in FCP, but I see that it was in LiveType.
    So, as I understand, after rendering you imported this animated text to FCP - and you've got not good results (each letter appears briefly as black before becoming white as it's fully faded in.)
    Don't change anything with this text in LiveType, don't remove shadow, its not needed. After importing it to FCP and placeing on Timeline, click the text and change in the Menu: "Modify / Alpha Type / Black" - render this fragment and watch. Now is OK?
    (You can change this parameter also in a Viewer window - it will be changed for all uses you will need.)

  • Set initial zoom in JNET (Network UI)

    Hi,
    is there a way to set initial zoom value to fit to window in JNET when a model is loaded?
    Upper-left corner of the graph is displayed and the zoom is set to 100% by default and I have to change zoom size manually in order to see all nodes.
    Regards,
    Ladislav

    Hi Ladislav,
    You can set the scale value of GRAPH element to define zoom value.
    For more details, refer to the following link.

  • How to make a combined zoom and fade in/fade out effect in Premiere Pro CS4

    Hi everyone,
    Like the title says, I would really love to have an effect I could just drag from the effects menu onto my footage (mostly text titles) so they could fade in for a second, zoom in slightly while they're on screen, and then fade out for the clip's last second.
    That would make my workflow a LOT faster than fiddling with keyframes for the zoom and always grabbing the cross dissolve at the start and end of the text for a few projects I have.  It doesn't sound like much, but when you have moving fading text a couple dozen times in each project and it takes the bulk of your time on the project, the repetition reminds me there has to be a better way.
    That's what a computer is supposed to do, right, take care of simple repetitive tasks?  So how can I get this set up as a reusable effect?
    Thanks!

    Dave,
    I will +1 Pixelan's products. They are great, simple, and have about the best support that I know of. When you explore, say Pixelan's SpiceMaster, dig deeply. Things appear rather mundane, on the surface, but there is so very much power lurking, just below the surface. I could almost imagine a 1000 page manual to cover every possible aspect of that program... Every time that I use it, I learn something new, and wonderful.
    Good luck,

  • Pan and Zoom (Ken Burns Effect)

    Does iDVD 06 support the Ken Burns Effect? When I import a Slide Show from iPhoto to iDVD it looses the transitions and the pan and zoom features. I can add the transitions back through iDVD, but I can't find anywhere to add the Ken Burns effect back to the slide show? Is it possible? I will be really disappointed if iDVD 06 does not support this feature.

    Welcome to iDVD Discussions.
    I don't use iPhoto, so I can't help you with that, but I can tell you that iDVD does NOT have the KB Effect.

  • Fade out effect in applet

    How would i go about making a fade out to white effect in an applet on like an image or something of the such?

    This may work:
    After you draw your image, fill a rectangle overtop of you image with the alpha component of the color increasing.
    class SomeThread {
    int alpha = 0;
    public void run() {
         while (true) {
         if (alpha > 255) break;
         yourPanel.setAlpha(alpha);
         yourPanel.repaint();
         alpha = alpha + 5;
         try {
            Thead.sleep(200); // 255 / 5 = 51 * 200 ms is about 10 seconds
         } catch (InterruptedException ex) {}
    class YourPanel extends JPanel {
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
          super.paint(g);
          g.drawImage(...);
          g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 255, alpha));
          g.fillRect(...);
    }

  • Widget Fade Out Effect

    How do you avoid widgets inserted in Captivate 4 from fading out on the last slide of a project?
    I have inserted a widget on my first slide and was selected to be displayed until the end of the project, take note, Transition Effect was set to none, but my widget would disappear upon reaching the very end of the project, where in Project End was set to Stop.
    Any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks and best regards,
    -Miguel

    Hi again,
    Having used the AS2-type of this widget a lot in CP4-projects, I just tried your workflow with the AS3 widget. You are right, even when the transition is set to No, the fading remains. But the workaround that Isometric Bacon suggested worked fine: choose a Fade in + fade out, set both timings to 0sec and eventually reset to No Transition. Fading disappears in that case. Is there a particular reason why you do not want this? Once you set it up for one button, you can copy that button as many times as you want.
    I have been looking swiftly at the FLA-file, but am still a newbie in ActionScript and am rather busy at the moment; couldn't find anything in the script about fading, or how the settings of Cp are taken over. But as I tell you, I'm really starting with AS...

  • Zoom/blur/chaotic effect for a fighting scene

    Hi there! I'm an Italian guy, so I'm SORRY for my really bad english. So, I'm a new user of this amazing forum , and I'm new in the "video making art" too, so I will not too ambicious about making video...BUT I would like to make a promotional video for my airsoft Club...and I thought something like that:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=fRI-2mp8_TU
    I want to be clear: I know that this video is at a pro level...but I only want to know few things about it:
    1) at 1:05 we can see a this guy face, and a VERY shaking/chaoting shooting with a uninterrupted zoom in/out on the soldier. You can see this effect for the enitre fighting scene, and I think that they are so cool for a shooting/fighting scene! So: those effects have a particoular name or not? Is a  particoular video technique or a  post production effect?
    2) There is any tutorial/video tutorial to make it?

    I could be wrong, but it looks like it was shot using what has be called a "shaky cam" teechnique. I dont beleive it is a post effect we are seeing.
    One way to replicate this  is to use After Effects expressions to create radom motion on several axis'.
    And easier alternative is to use a plug in made by Video Copilot called Twitch. It is used in After Effects not Premiere.

  • Controlling zoom with scroll effect

    I really like the scrolling zoom effect on this site (first scroll effect): http://www.discovershadow.com
    I would love to see something similar included in muse.
    That is all.

    Okay...did that too.  We'll see.  I appreciate your help.
    Having a major printing problem though.  Looks like I am going to be doing a lot of testing soon because the presents for my Canon iP6700D don't work like they did two days ago.  Canon has a new driver which I believe is the problem.  Maybe I can get back to the other one that worked like a charm.  -- Sandy

  • How set an initial state for Slide effects

    Hi everyone, I would like to use the slide effect like the
    collapsable panels, with an initial state "closed".
    I used Spry Pre-Release 1.5 Preview
    In my first attempt
    <a
    onclick="Spry.Effect.Slide('MoreOptionSlide',{duration:1000,from:'0%',
    to:'100%',toggle:true})" >More Options</a>
    The DIV is always "open" and after click it closes and
    performes the slide animation.
    Also i tried to change some style attributes of the DIV and
    restore or change them in the "setup" function of the
    spy.Effect.Slide constructor, I thought this function is executed
    before animation, but it is executed even without be triggered the
    animation.
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hello Richard,
    After you design the page and adjust the element dimensions
    as if the element would be in page without the animation to show it
    you'll have to set the 'display:none' CSS property on that element.
    In this situation the element will remain in page but will simply
    be invisible. Something like this:
    <div id="MoreOptionSlide" style="width: 300px; height:
    200px; border: 1px solid black; overflow: auto;display:none;">
    </div>
    Now using Spry 1.5 effects you can make this element appear
    after the More Options link is clicked:
    <a href="#" onclick="effect.start(); return false;"
    >More Options</a>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var effect = new
    Spry.Effect.Slide('MoreOptionSlide',{duration:1000,from:'0%',
    to:'100%',toggle:true});
    </script>

  • Export problem & audio garbled if using "Fade in" effect

    Hi everyone, I'm using iMovie HD 6, and I'm not sure why this is happening. I have a 30-second clip that I added credits to over the first few seconds. I then go to export (Share>Quicktime) and it creates an mp4 file, but when I try to open it I get an error from Quicktime saying "movie cannot be opened."
    Also, if I try to do the credits over the clip itself, the audio is garbled until the credits are gone. By the same token, if I do a fade-in on the clip (the clip is either an .mov or an .mp4 with audio married to it), the audio is garbled until the fade is over. Same thing on the fade out.
    I have the latest quicktime, the latest OS, and the latest version of iMovie. If anyone can help me with a fix, that would be great.
    Kerry

    I'm experiencing the same kind of problem. I'm importing 30fps h264 mp4 files with 48khz audio. I've changed the audio rate to 48kz in the Audio and Midi application and I'm still getting the jitters on transitions. Extracting the audio is not an option in this case as it's ease of use I'm going for...
