Insert Data Error WebDynpro MAXDB

Hi
I have a table in MAXDB which uses a Sequence to generate
unique nos for the records.
CREATE SEQUENCE Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE_SEQ
START WITH 1
INCREMENT BY 1
When i run a insert statement through SQL Studio the record gets inserted properly.
INSERT INTO Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE VALUES(Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE_SEQ.NEXTVAL,
'A','B','C')
when i try the same through WebDynpro the record does not get inserted.
i am using the following String
String strInsert="INSERT INTO Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE VALUES(Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE_SEQ.NEXTVAL,'A','B','C')";
Is there any special syntax to use MAXDB Sequence in SQL Statement
through WebDynpro ?
Regards
Rajendra

Hi RajendraKumar,
Try using this:
java.sql.PreparedStatement ps =
//Here con is your connection object.
con.prepareStatement("insert into Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE VALUES " +
"(<field1>, <field2>, <field3>, <field4>) " +
"values (?, ?, ?, ?)");
try {
ps.setInt (1, Z_DOCU_EXCHANGE_SEQ.NEXTVAL);
ps.setString(2, "A");
ps.setString(3, "B");
ps.setString(4, "C");
ps.executeUpdate();
} finally {
ps.close();

ORA-06512: at line 7The problem is that your variable subject_obj is not in scope inside the dynamic SQL you are building. The SQL engine does not know your PL/SQL variable, so it tries to find a column named SUBJECT_OBJ in your SAM1 table.
If you need to use dynamic SQL for this, then you must bind the variable. Something like this:
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'insert into op_sample (select id,name,:bind_subject_obj from sam1) ' USING subject_obj;Alternatively you might figure out to use static SQL rather than dynamic SQL (if possible for your project.) In static SQL the PL/SQL engine binds the variables for you automatically.

Right now the vi is set up to create a table if one does not exist.
Any Suggestions on this .

Have you had a chance to look over the other questions Crystal asked above? Those answers will help us to better help you. I also found the following discussion forum - I know they are using a different database, but I think you can tweak the solution so it works for you too.

• Error by inserting data into a field of datatype LONG

Hi,
When inserting data into a field of datatype long in oracle8 database via SQL Plus or SQL worksheet there occurs the following error message: "field in data file exceeds the maximum length".
If I access to the database from a selve written program via odbc there is no problem when inserting the data by the same sql statement.
So what can I do?
Thanks in advance!

Basically i am stuck here as i am not able to decode this exception.
Can anyone tell me where is it failing, is it a some formation error or is it creating a query at db and getting a sql error??
as mentioned earlier, its very difficult to get access to db resources hence its becmong very difficult to debug the error.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance

• Error while inserting data in datagrid

Hi,
I am trying to insert data into a datagrid getting results
from a cfc using remoteobject. If I use everything inline then it
works fine.
I have a button when clicked give me the results. if I have
something like this:
<mx:Button label="get Query Remote Object"
click="myTest.getSystem()"/>
then it works fine.
but if I use a namespace like
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
xmlns:serv="services.*">
<serv:services id="services" />
and try to use
<mx:Button label="get Query Remote Object"
click="services.myTest.getSystem()"/>
then i get an error saying
Access of undefined property myTest in package services.
I have the remoteobject call within services.mxml which is
inside services folder. What do I need to change? It used to work
fine in 1.5.
Thanks

Are you using the Cairngorm framework or why are you using a

Hi Yatan,
This should be due to data issues. And the error message is due to data truncation issues.
Please check your payload that you are trying to insert into the SQL server table.
One or more fields might have a data that is exceeding its defined length with respect to the table definitions.
Problem with using SQL server is that while inserting, you will not be pointed towards which field or column is causing the error.
You have to take the pain of searching through the entire payload to find the problem causing ones.
Thanks,
Deepak.

• Error while trying to insert data on a database through a mediator

I have build a simple project on 11g TP$, which consists of a mediator, a file adapter, that reads an xml file and a DB adapter that inserts data on a database.

I have checked the .xsd file and my xml several times and it seems that they are correct. Moreover, the .xsl file is also correct.
Does anyone have any idea of what may produce this problem?
Thanks

I was finally able to get my project working. Heidi - You were right, there was a problem with the XSL generated by the XSL map editor.
I am trying to locate if this issue has already been reported, but I am highlighting it here, in case someone else faces the same.
The XSL generated was as follows:
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:dvm="[http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.dvm.LookupValue]"

The Xpath included the "imp1:" tag to reference the namespace. I tested this XSL and it didn't work. However, on removing the namespace "imp1:" from the Xpath, the XSL works fine and I am able to insert into the database. "No suitable driver" still appears in the log, but all rows from the XML are inserted into the database.
Heidi - do you think this is a bug?

hi...
finally i got the solution...i know that this problem may occur due to some other reasons also for different users...but the problem which caused the developers facing the error in this case is below:
they faced the error while importing the dumps in the server. at the same time the application developers told that they can select the tables but cannot insert any datas.
after listenning to this, i assumed that this may be a space problem with the system tablespace as it is responsible for storing the data dictionary.
i asked for the free spaces for the system tablespace and got the reason. It has only 0.2% left.
i told them to issue the resize command for the system01.dbf datafile(allocated 2GB more) and the problem got resolved.
Hope this helps..thanks

Your Help will be very much appreciate.I am using SQL Server database

The error concerns these two lines:
boolean success = insertIntoDB("'" + FirstName + "','" + LastName + "','" + Email + "','" + Login + "','" + Password + "'");
statement.execute("INSERT INTO Users(user_id,FirstName,LastName,Email,Login,Password) values (" + stringtoinsert + ");");
In the first line above, you have a string which represents the VALUES which you are inserting. There are 5 values. However in the second line above this is your actual SQL execution you are specifying 6 columns of data. If the column "user_id" is an identity or auto-incrementing field in the database, just remove it from this line. If not then you need to supply the "UserID" into the VALUES.
This should fix the problem.

• Error while inserting data into a table.

Hi All,
I created a table.While inserting data into the table i am getting an error.Its telling "Create data Processing Function Module".Can any one help me regarding this?
Thanx in advance
anirudh

Hi Anirudh,
Seems there is already an entry in the Table with the same Primary Key.
INSERT Statement will give short dump if you try to insert data with same key.
Why dont you use MODIFY statement to achieve the same.
Reward points if this Helps.

• Error Inserting Data from Procedure ODI 11g (No data)

Hi everyone!
I have a problem inserting data from a procedure, the procedure works "fine" (no errors), on the log counter shows the number of rows inserted, but, on the database rows does not exists, an easy sample is:
TARGET: ORACLE
insert into table_t
(desc)
values
(:description)
SOURCE: ORACLE
select description from table_s
I check (ODI), the conection (works fine), modules (works fine), "select from table" (works fine).
I check (Database), inserting rows direct (works fine).
What can i check?
Thanks for your response.

Hi
Try below 2 things
First
In target:oracle
insert into table_t
(desc)
values
('#descpt');
Second
In target:oracle
insert into table_t
(desc)
values
('#Proc_Var');
Note: For alias name (*descpt* ) or Project variable (*Proc_Var*) with # symbol and single quotes

• Why its showing error : Invalid Object Name 'table name' when we try to insert data ?

Hi,
When i try to insert data in the database with the following query
con.Open();
cmd = new SqlCommand("insert into good(ID,Name) values('" + textBox1.Text + "','" + textBox2.Text + "')", con);
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
MessageBox.Show("Insert success");
con.Close();
its showing following error Invalid Object Name 'good'

Use 3-part naming like: MyDatabase.dbo.good(ID,Name) .
Also consider using stored procedure for database INSERTs.
