Inspection for Co-product

Dear All,
We have defined a process like this.
We have a material A,  in which will have B & C as other product (Co- product) . we will confirm material A only.
Now my requirement is i  want  to have inspection in production for the material B&C as individual lots
Kindly give your suggestions.
Selvam

Dear Craig,
I dont want inspection for the finished materal (i.e  for Material A ), i want the material B & C  to be inspected. I have assigned inspection type as 03 in the material master and created different task list for each material. but when iam doing GR for  the material  B&C (co-product)  inspection lot is not created.
But lot is created for the same material for the inspection type 04.
Kindly guide me which is best practice.

  • Add inspection characteristics to production order created via CO07

    Hi, all.
We're creating production orders to perform production rework on assemblies using transaction CO07.
We have a requirement to inspect and make a usage decision on the reworked assembly.
Since there is no material at the header level for CO07 orders, the system isn't allowing us to do an inspection because it has no material master QA view to reference.  Although the control key is marked for in-process inspection, the production order still won't allow it.
I can't add "unplanned inspection characteristics", not can I manually create an inspection lot using QA01.
Is there a way to manually force in an inspection for an operation on a CO07 order?
    Thanks.
    Sarah

    Hi,
We cannot do a inspection for a production order unless it has material assigned to it and the material got QM inspection type relevant to that.

  • Early Inspection for a Goods Receipt for production order

    Dear Experts,
This  is with respect  Early Inspection for a Goods Receipt for inspction type 04.( 03 is also active in material master)
We made partial confirmation  250 qty for production order using t code co11n ( total qty of production order is 1000).
made the usage decision with an acceptance and posted all open stocks. to unrestricted.
Now  in second partial confirmation prodn order  of 250 qty was made . This suppose to be rejected .  but sytem will add this 250 qty directly to unrestricted stock .  how to over come this .
    Regards
    Sandeep

Don't make the UD until all stock has been receipted?
You basically approved the batch.  So why wouldn't the system put the stock to unrestricted?
Why would you make a UD when you still have stock to be posted anyway?  You can post stock without without making a UD so why not just post some if you need it, and wait on making the UD?

  • Inspection Lot for co-product & By Product

    Dear Friends,
How to manage inspection lot for Co- products in production
Is there any specific inspection type
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Hi raj
531 Goods receipt from by-product from the order
The goods receipt of a by-product usually refers to an order, but it can be entered without a reference.
If a component is entered with a negative quantity in the order, a reservation item is created with 531 (instead of 261). The receipt of a by-product can be entered when the component for the order is withdrawn from stock or it can be entered as another type of goods receipt.
Possible special stock indicator: E, Q
Acivate 05 inspection type for Co-product.
You can also try this by MB1C transaction.against producton order
Also check the mvt type 545 and 581
    Check this will work

  • In process inspection for partial confirmation of production order

    Hi QM Guru,
how i will do in process inspection for partial confirmation of production oder
Senior is this  I have maintain inspection type 03 in finish material u2026..suppose production order quantity 20 kg..there are 2 operationu202610 and 20.. I have maintained MIC on operation 20u2026after release the production order  lot are generatingu2026but when they confirm operation 10 they do partial confirmation for 10 kgu2026.then again when do confirmation 20..they checku2026for quality resultu2026
Then I do the result record ok of 10 kgu2026then they confirm 20 operationu2026.
Now. again he do the confirmation of rest production order 10 kg..opration 10 ok..but in operation 20..system does not check for qualityu2026..
Again I want to do the quality inspection of 10kg on 20 operationu2026
How I will do. kindly suggest me

    Aqueel

    Hello
I think that the process can be mapped in one of these ways:
    - according to what you describe this is closer to a good receipt inspection and not to in-process inspection, as the trigger for the inspection is the GR and not the release of the order. So, why dont you give a chance to a 04 inspection type, with inspection lot creation for every GR ? Check the indictor in MM02, QM view for "04" inspection, and uncheck the "Stock in quality", so you dont get caught by the stock in quality and resembles in process "Non-stock relevant" inspection
    - alternatively you can define the use of inspection points ? So you are adding new results as new confirmations are made. Disadvantage: you can only give one usage decision to the inspection Lot, irrespective of the number of samples you have analyzed.

  • For a Production order - Operation wise Inspection Lot

    Hi Experts,
Please help me out to resolve the following problems.
    1. How can we create inspection lot for each operation for a production order?
If a production order has 10 operations, I will have to have 10 inspection lots for that order.
    2. I have a final assembly called A with components B & C. Some other material called D has similar characteristics of B.
But sometimes, for A, instead of B (if stock is not available), i want to use D also. Please note that, if B is not available, then
only, I will use D. Otherwise always B only, so we cannot go with probability.
How can we map this scenario? and MRP run also should consider D if B is not there.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Dear
    Answer Q1 : Go to SPRO > Production> Shop floor control> operations > confirmation> define confirmation parameters
    Maintain
1)Operation sequence u2013 error when operation sequence is not adhered to
    2) Over delivery u2013 Error when over delivery tolerance is exceeded
    3) Results Rec. (QM)- Error message if no Insp results exist
So what these setting helps is that  :
1)All operation has to be confirmed operation wise means 0010 has to be confirmed for confirming 0020 operation. SO production guys can only confirm 0040 operations only after 0030 operations is confirmed by quality personal.
2)Over delivery is not allowed means of in 0030 operation if only 50 quantity is confirmed in 0040 operation only 50 can be confirmed. Production people cannot confirm more than 50 quantities
    3) Also PP personal cannot confirm operation 0030 through C011N till the result recording of that operation is done through QA32.
4)Maintain Operation Control Key -PP01 with marked Inspection Character Marked -OPJ8  and maintain this Control Key for   those operation which are required for Inspection Lot .
Now For QM stand point , activate inspection type 03 and 04 in material master. For 03 type of inspection, you have to make routing in CA01. So when you release your production order, an inspection lot will be generated. This lot will not be stock relevant. This is just to check that you production is in accordance with quality norms. Only after clearing this lot from quality you can do your order confirmation, otherwise system will give hard error due to 3rd point of prev post.
For 04 type of inspections, prepare inspection plan in QP01. Now when order is confirmed, an inspection lot of 04 origin will be created in quality, and this is stock relevant and for final inspection of production order material.
If you need you can set for early inspection as well. That will give you another intermediate stage before final inspection. Inspection points are also an option if suites your requirement.
If you need more inspections, I suggest go for manual inspection lots of 04 origins, they are created in ref to order and are not stock relevant.

  • Inspection lot with Production Order

    Hi friends,
I am PP consultant and need some help in setting up a scanario of Production order with inspection lot.
I need to setup a scenario where a inpspection lot is created from production order manually (not at the time of release). The purpose is to post few quantity of production order to scrap storage location. Inspection lot needs to be created only in certain production orders where some of the quantity has to be declared as scrap and that needs to be rejected with usage decision.
can any one please suggest the overview of such scenario.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Dear Rohit,
You want to create a manual inspection lot only for the purpose of Scrapping and also want it to be done with Usage Decision.
You can not use inspection type 89, as it is not stock relevant (Inspection type for Miscellaneous inspection),
There is one another solution with inspection type 08( inspection for Material Movement), but it might look Lengthy.
    1. Release a Production order. say 100 qty.
    2. If during process, 10 is scrap, then perform Partial Confirmation of 10 Qty.;  Stock will be in Unrestricted.
    3. Now, through MB1B, transfer 10 qty from Unrestricted to QI.
    4. As you have inspection type 08 active, System will create an Inspection lot for 10 Qty.
    5. You can post this whole 10 qty to Scrap while giving Usage Decision.
I think, in your process, Scrapping is not done frequently, that is why you do not want inspection lot at every production order.
in that case this solution may solve your problem.

  • Inspection Lot on Production Orders using HU

    Hi Experts:
I'm trying to notify using production orders some HU. I was reading the help.sap.com and it says:
    1. An inspection lot is never created, if the indicator Inspection for HU is not set in the Inspection setup of the material master (Quality Management view) for storage locations requiring HUs.
    2. In general, it is not possible to create the inspection lot at goods receipt in storage locations requiring HUs.
    That's confuse me.
In the system I have the following information:
    a. Create my order and release.
    b. My material have inspection 04. I marked the indicator Inspection for HU on Quality Management view.
    c. I used Tx COP1 to create my HU
    d. I notify my production using COWBHUWE
If I checked my MMBE the quantity is on Quality Status. But I don't have my inspection Lot.
I create my Inspection plan with indicator 5.
Someboday can tell me why the inspection lot isn't create?
    I checked the configuration:
In Customizing for Handling Unit Management (Inventory Management), the respective movement type is not deactivated for quality inspections. The indicator QM not active is not set.
In the (respective) material master record, the corresponding inspection type is created and activated for the respective goods movement, and the indicator Inspection for HU must be set.
    Thxks

Sorry firefighter I'm going to explain more in detail.
    1. I tested my integration process QM-PP-HU on a Storage Location without HU.
    The results were:
    a. Hu created
    b. Inspection Lot Created
But when I did the DE the units from the HU were moved, but the HU still in Q status.
    So I changed my test.
    2. I tested my integration process QM-PP-HU on a Storage Location with HU
    The results were:
    a. Hu created
    b. Inspection Lot Not Created
In this case, I marked on Material Master the HU Indicador on 04 Class (Quality Management View)
    That's my problem.
Addittional I tested a MM-HU process using 01 Inspection Class.
    1. I create a Purchase Order Me21N to a Storage Location with HU
    2. I create the Delivery using HU
    3. The system create the Inspection Lot and made the DE (reference to the HU)
My problem is stilling the PP-QM-Hu on Storage Location with HU

  • In Process Inspection for Repetitive Manufacturing

    Hi All,
I'm trying to perform in-process inspection for repetitive manufacturing. I have a semi finished material which has the inspection type 13 activated in the material master. Rate routing for it has also been created. Characteristics have been assigned to its operation and the routing is attached to a production version. When I o to MFPR to create a lot, I specify the material, plant and production version with QM active (tried the other 2 options as well) but when I execute, nothing shows up in the list. When I click on create inspection lot, it says, "either select versions or place cursor on versions now" but there's nothing in the list?
    Regards,
    Bilal

    Hi,
Please check whether the repetitive manufacturing check box and REM profile is defined in the MRP4 of material master.
Please define that and try to run the transaction MFPR.
    It should solve your problem

  • QM inspection for movement 321 and 322

    Dear guru,
Presently there is one new requirement from our business wanting us to create an inspection type that will allow for users to use movement type 321 & 322 through MIGO.
Because the standard SAP setup (i.e. SPRO  QM  Quality Inspection  Inspection Lot Creation  Inspection for Goods Movement) for movement type 321 and 322 are not tied to any inspection lot origin, further, if I will to use u201Dcopy..asu201D method or hit create New method, the inspection lot origin field box is grey out and not allow input of inspection lot origin.
May I know how to resolve this issue? Or 321 and 322 should not involve QM? or other?
    Thanks.
    Tuff

    Tuffy,
What I have understood is, I try to re quote the same.
    1.     Your declare production and stock goes to quality inspection with 04 inspection type
    2.     You clear this inspection lot and post the stock to unrestricted use through QA32 / QA12
    3.     Now you want to reverse the production movement.
    4.     System doesnu2019t allow you to reverse this and throws error as u201CDeficit of stock in qualityu201D
    5.     If you try to cancel 321 material document system throws error as u201CMaterial document cannot be processedu201D
If above is the scenario then perhaps you have following 2 options
    1.     Document specific reversal
    a.     You need to implement SAP Note 175842
    b.     As a result of which you get a program in system, give inspection lot as reference.
    c.     System reverses the stock and posts back to quality inspection
    d.     Now if you try to cancel 101 material document (production reversal) through MBST, system will allow you.
    2.     Without document specific
    a.     Go to MB31
    b.     Input production order and opt for 102 movement.
    c.     Enter
    d.     Select the stock type as unrestricted. (default it would be X i.e. quality inspection)
Under ideal circumstances the need to use any of above options shouldnu2019t arise. If requirement is the production reversal, I think to stop inspection lot creation or use of MIGO / MB1B would not work as this eliminates the utilization of QM module.

  • QM In-Process Inspection for Batch Managed Material

    Hi,
I have a issue related to UD of In-Process inspection for batch managed material. The production process is discrete manufacting for a cold rolling mill. A production order can have mutiple coils as per the production amount. To track the individual coil , batch management has ben activated. We have both in-process as well as inspection after production here.
For inspection after production we are fine as we are doing partial confirmation after every coil and have separate inspection lot having different batch number.
But for in-process I can have only one inspection lot for the production order (created on release of the production order). I can do the result recording but while trying to do UD u2013 it is asking for a batch number as the material is batch managed. W/o entering the batch number system is not allowing me to do the UD.
Is there any solution/work around of this problem.
    -Regards
    ashim

    Hi Ashim,
you raised a very good question? i am helpless here to execute same scenario,
but i disussed with my QM guy here, he said, once the material is batch managed then it has to ahve batch in UD.
so i discussed ur case, which is very much valid for heavy ind like cement and all,
so what i suggest, u create a dummy batch in the UD for in process (no inventory posting)
and at confimation give ur usual batch (if system propose the dummy batch which u give in the UD for inprocess, try to change there--- i hope it should allow)
i would really like to here answer from u for this.
try to do as suggested, and let me know the results.

  • Inspection for second operation

    hi all
i have maintain inspection orgin 03 & 04 for sfg material in material master also in routing i have assign control key having inspection check box on for the 03 line item (0010,0020,0030).
my first operation shows perfect inspection lot after production order release. but when i go for the second operation it does not works and it show no inspection characterstics maintain for the operation, though i assign inspection characteristics to the operations.

    Dear.
    In mm02, choose qm view.
Choose QM proc then click inspn setup tab.
04 for final inspn (after prodn)
03 for roh. & click active.
    2. QS21 create MIC
    3. In the routing choose first operation & choose inspn characteristics & choose eg.Legth & then sample as (eg) fixed sample. Go for second operation do the same tining.
    4) For final insp create quality plan in OP01.
Then when you realse order then system will create one insp lot for inporocess in that you will get two operation and go ahead.
    Hope clear to you.

Here I have a requirement , I would like to do  Inprocess quality Inspection for each serial number separatly which are assigned in the production order .
I have done the following ....
1.Assigned serial number profile in the material master of the header material .
2.Assigned Inspection type 03 in the material master .
    3. 03 is allowed serial number Inspection
    4. QMSL is assigned in the serial number profile and mark it as obligatory.
Whenever I release the production order , system assigning serial numbes equal to my lot size . But I am unable to result recording for each serial number for the lot origin 03 .
Please suggest where I am worng , and also explain me how to do the result recording for each serial number .

  • Quality inspection for external opearatio

    Experts
One of my product having one operation in externel
Once it coming back after the externel operation confirmation is happening(here material number is not changing)
In this point i want to create a inspection lot on confirmation
how we can achieve this what is the inspection type we want to give
    Give me a details step
    Faisal

    Hi Friend ,
Procedure for Quality inspection for external operation is :
    1) Assign the operation in routing which is done external processing
    control Key : PP02 ( External processing )
Click on indicator : Insp char. required.
Hence when production order is released for above scenario , double click on the operation and click on create PR.
    Than PO from PR.
material is relaesed for external processing agianst PO .
when material is get external processing and come in through GR . Material goes to quality stock.
after quality ok , its come in unrestricted stock.

  • About the first inspection before mass production ,and the end inspection after mass production

    Hi ,experts :
There is a scenario about my customer : before mass production they need to do first inspection avoid a lot of defect for the finish goods ; and he also need  doing the end inspection to check whether the mold can be used for next batch or need to do some repair .
I want to add two operations in the routing ,but it seems unreasonable .
Can anyone give me some advice  for it ? thanks advance .

    Hi Avril Liu,
    OPTION - A
I think, you can try the below option which may not be the best solution but looks logical to me -
    a) Create to inspection types 8901 (Initial Mold Manual Inspection) and 8902 (Final Mold Manual Inspection) and assign them to inspection lot origin 89. Please note these inspection types are manually created and these are not linked to stock movement.
    b) Use the inspection type 8901 to test the initial condition of the process. In case if the UD = R, then use enhancement to create a new 8901 inspection lot by linking the old number in "TEXT" field.
    c) If the next inspection UD = R, then repeat the manual inspection lot 8901 inspection lot creation step. If the inspection lot 8901 UD = A, then this process is Good to start he process. So create a follow-up action and send emails to stakeholders.
    d) If you are not interested in testing the in-process quality of the produced materials, then you need not need 04 inspection type to be added for GR inspection. If you do test (I think yes, based on your answer...) you can add this inspection type to your material. Then you will be able to Release/Block your produced materials too using UD= A/R  respectively.
    e) Once the production process is complete, you can create manual inspection 8902 to test the mold characteristic. If the UD = R, then again execute the enhancement to create a new inspection lot 8902, by adding the previous inspection lot number in TEXT field, and keep repeating this process. If the UD = A, then there is no further need for testing, and follow-up mail can be send to the stakeholders for the completion of the process.
    OPTION - B
Else, you may need to use inspection type 14 linked to your equipment doing the production, to test the mold characteristics. This process will be linked to PM-QM module, and you need to map this process too.
1st inspection can be linked to 89 manual inspection to double check the process and the final inspection after entire production can be done through inspection type 14. Checking the produced material quality will again need inspection type 04 activation like normal process.
    Thanks,
    Arijit
