Installation problems with CS4 Web Premium

Hi everyone, I'm trying to install Application 1 DVD for Adobe CS4 Web Premium. So heres my problem..... When try to install Application 1 DVD, it stops installing at 82% of disc progress (Currently installing Adobe Color - Photoshop Specific CS4). It freezes for a while than a window pops up saying to insert disc 1. Isn't Application 1 disk 1? When I try inserting any one of the other DVDs, that same window pops up.  Am I missing something here???? Could it be the reason that I'm running XP 64-bit? Any help would be appreciated!!!

  • Problems with CS5 Web Premium Disks Being Unreadable

I pre-ordered my CS5 Web Premium update and finally received the three disk set on May 6.  Attempted to install and the first disk which was the Suite installed fine.  The other two disks were unreadable.  I called Adobe support and they shipped another set to me which arrived today, May 12, and the same thing happened with the same two disks - Adobe Acrobat and CS5 Content.  The disks are unreadable on five of my Macs and three windows machines.
Called tech support and was bounced around from Customer Service to support in India and back to Customer Service and finally told them I just wanted a refund after about ninety minutes on the call.  I do find it funny that I was passed to Tech Support to "troubleshoot" unreadable disks.
A simple solution which nobody at Adobe seemed to grasp is to allow you to download a copy even if you paid for a shipped copy. I am amazed that this is not an option.  So now I will eat the shipping costs and send my box back to Adobe and wait for what will probably be months before they credit my card back for the purchase.
Anybody else having problems with the install disks?

CS5 loads fine but Acrobat is unreadable and the Content disk is unreadable.  The CS5 trial download doesn't include the content or Acrobat.  Acrobat is a windows only download.   So the trial download only installs what comes on disk 1 which is the only good disk of the three in the shipment.
A guy I talked to in Tech Support acknowledged that they produced a bad batch of disks and it seems I got two shipments of bad disks.

  • CS5 Production Premium causing problems with CS4 Production Premium

I have been using CS5 Production Premium alongside CS4 Production Premium for a while now.  After Effects, PhotoShop & Illustrator work alright together (both CS4 & CS5 versions).  My job actually necessitates me keeping both versions on my machine.
I had need to use both Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore CS4, and neither of the applications would initialize.  The following is the error message from clicking the Premiere Pro CS4 application file.
I am uncertain what the application event log is or where it is located.
Over on Creative Cow's site, I posted a similar message in the forums, in which a user stated that I should not have CS4 and CS5 on the same partition of my drive.
I do have a secondary internal hard drive on which I could install one of the suites, however, I want to make sure that it is done properly and efficiently.  I have seen some issues with uninstalling CS4 after installing CS5, so I wanted to ask for help before I simply begin to rip software off my PC (since After Effects and PhotoShop - which work - actually comprise 95% of my Adobe workload).
Any suggestions or guidance is appreciated.  Also, which version (CS4 or CS5) would be better suited on the secondary drive?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

  • Installation problems with SAP Web AS 6.20 came with Official ABAP Ref

    Can anyone help.
Purchased ref books with SAP WAS 6.20
I have followed the instructions for installation and everything goes ok up until 41%.
Installation of SAP DB server finished succesfully.
When I check the technical info on SAP Press where I bought the books it say's at 42% change disks and continue. As I'm as near to that as possible then I did just that, but when I press the next button nothings happens.
What does happen is that a new window appears with the folders from the disk in the drive, as though I'm supposed to select something; but what.
I am using xp home edition, with plenty of memory and plenty of hard disk.
Also created the Loopback Adapter but not sure if this needs configuring or what.
This is driving me mad especially as it means me cleaning all reference to sap from my hard drive along with entries in the registry.
The instructions to be honest are as bad as the minsap that came with ABAP Objects and which I had no success with.
I would have thought buying these books, that all these issues would have been sorted out, but obviously I was wrong.
Why produce such great reference books and ruin it with software that doesn't work.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Peter,
Whereas I take your point. You are not telling me something that I don't already know.
Time is of the essence and time is something I don't have.
I am very busy and work in Switzerland 5 days a week and don't have any free time whatsoever. I travel back to the UK at the weekend for 1 day, so wasting time is not something I relish. End of moan!
I thought that these forums were there to help ?
I need to be spending valuable time on the product and not the  installation.
You may, like others have a lot of spare time on your hands. I don't.
If the damn instructions were correct in the first place then people wouldn't be having these sorts of issues.
I am amazed at the number of installation issues there are and everyone appears to be different.
Obviously SAP have cornered the market because when you're in you can't get out.
I know quite a few people who work in SAP, and alI I hear is, we should not have gone for this ERP solution. That its over complicated (obviously for a reason), its slow and when you have problems its a nightmare to trace back to where the problem initially came from.

  • Windows 8 compatible with CS4 Web Premium?

Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant shows it is not compatible and "paid update available." I don't want to pay $2k to upgrade to CS6. Is there a way to still use Dreamweaver and Photoshop CS4 in Win 8? (e.g. if I change compatibility settings, etc.)
I also don't want to have a dual boot system to have both Win 7 and 8... I hope I don't get stuck with this and have to keep my Win 7...

Just for the record, you can only upgrade to CS6 from CS5 now.
The upgrade window for earlier versions (CS4 and older) closed on Dec 31, 2012. So CS4 to CS6 is no longer an option.

Have you tried to install CS4 on Win 8 anyway to see if it works?

  • Installation problem with CS4 on Windows 7

I have been trying to install CS4 to a new HDD. It is from the (licensed) disk. It stops at the Initializing phase: "Checking System Profile", getting stuck at 90%. Here is the screen message:
I have turned off any antivirus scanning, even turned off the firewall a couple times. Installing Lightroom2 went flawlessly the day before. What am I not understanding???

No,  it should work fine .
Can you restart the machine in Selective Startup mode and then check.

  • Error 150:30 CS4 Web premium - Yosemite upgrade

I'm trying to recover from a Yosemite upgrade failure on my MacBook Pro. I used the Migration Assistant app to restore my Applications folder. When I launch any product from the suite, I get Error 150:30. I can't use the installer disk for CS4 Web Premium. I've attempted downloading it from the support site several times and it always fails. When I attempt to relaunch download in Safari, I get a message that I don't have permission to download the CS4 Web Premium installer.

    Michael,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not running Yosemite. I'm still running Mavericks 10.9.5. CS4 worked fine in it. I'll try the cleaner and attempt another download.
    Aaron
UPDATE: CS4 Installer doesn't work on Mavericks, although the apps were running before the failed Yosemite update. I've downloaded the installer but it doesn't launch. It behaves like a folder, showing the installer contents. Here is a screen shot.
UPDATE 2: The support reply was NOT helpful and didn't solve my problem. I'm not running Yosemite, if this post was read correctly.
I've downloaded CS4 Web Premium several times and it still doesn't work on 10.9.5.

  • Existing Kompozer Website but Wish to Start Over W/CS4 Web Premium

Hopefully, i am in the right place to ask these question. I'm a real novice but we needed a web presence and tried a hand at Kompozer. With no prior experience, or training actually managed to get something up. The site has only a single page at the moment with two external link buttons.  But now we would like to turn to CS4 Web Premium. I have read and watched any number of tutorials and some say, Download the Existing (Remote) site using an FTP program such as Filezilla and then edit it Locally.
I am under the impression you don't actually need to use Filezilla, or another FTP with CS4 Web Premium, as it has a built in FTP feature?
Can someone please educate me and hold my hand and walk me through this process?
I've downloaded my entire site to my desktop from a Backup provided by the hosting site. I'm not sure if this is what I need for an edit.
The hosting site gave/gives the option to download The Entire Site, or just certain folders but being "green" I wasn't sure about this option.
OTOH, If I were to start from scratch can I design A New Site Locally while the Kompozer built site stays up and then simply replace the current site with the New CS4 created one? Can I configure CS4 to Publish the changes from the existing file names and settings?
For example my current site is comprised of a single folder (on my desktop) containing 6 items total; An index.html, 4 individual jpg images and a single favicon ico (which i did upload separately as Kompozer didn't want to cooperate at the time. Admittedly I'm not even sure what FTP program I resorted to in effort to get it done ) .
I'm a little concerned I might delete a file that was there when I first set up the webhosting before I actually uploaded anything.
My web hosting provider (Blue Host)  said, Where Dreamweaver Asks What Folder on The Server Do You Want To Store Your Files In? The Path you put in is Public_html and provided a link to a tutorial but it seems it is for a New Site as opposed to editing an existing one.
A genuine Thank YOU in advance for any assistance, suggestions and Tips. I know we all have to start somewhere in effort to learn.

You really should post this in the Dreamweaver forum but if you have the FTP information for the site it's a one click procedure to download it to your local machine and work on it in Dreamweaver.

A genuine and most sincere Thank You in advance for any assistance, suggestions and learned Tips.
I know we all have to start somewhere in effort to learn.. Please be gentle with me.

I would recommend leaving your company website on the server for now until you have created your new one  :-)
On most servers, public_hmtl is the folder where all the files reside to make the website 'live'.  That's the name of the folder I have to upload all my website files to on my server as well.
Without seeing the code produced by Kompozer, and guessing it is a WYSIGWYG editor, then I'd strongly suggest that you start from new  :-)  Seeing as you only have one page at the moment, it won't be a monumental task to start over.
I'll supply you with a few tutorials found at the Adobe site that will help you get started, in particular - a tut on working with DW templates., which will be the answer for you if you have more than one page but up to 10 for example, if it's going to be much larger site, then using Server Side Includes may be the way to go.
This is the one you should probably read through first:

  • Install demo of CS4 Web Premium-Photoshop Installs 64 bit and x86 versions but 64 bit does not work

Just installed the CS4 Web Premium demo onto a brand new 64 bit i7 processor with Windows Seven Home Premium machine with 9gb memory. The install seems to be fine except it installed a 64 bit version as well as x86 version into different folders. The x86 version works fine but the 64 bit version does not.
Every time I try to open a file using "Open With' I get the following message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."
First of all why does it install both versions and why does it try to open everything in the 64bit version even after specifically telling it to open in the x86 version (even after setting the default file association to the x86 version.
I would of course like to use the 64 bit veriosn but if it not going to work. I'll use the 32 bit version. I just wantto be able to right click my mouse and be able to "Open With". I can open Photoshop 32 bit and open the file that way but it is a pain to do that way.
    Any help would be appreciated

Both are installed to allow you to use 32 bit plugins. As for the problem, you'll get far more attention in the Photoshop forum.

  • Upgrading from CS3 Web Standard to CS4 Web Premium problems

So I got my CS4 Web Premium upgrade box in the mail yesterday.  I'll be starting a big project in about a week or so and figured I'd do the install and familiarize myself with the enhancements and play with PS, as it has been a while.  Anyway, I drop the first of the install disks into my XP Pro SP3 laptop and off I go.  I enter the serial number for the CS4 which checks good.  Hit next at which point it looks for a previous install of a CS product and does not find one.  No problem, I think to myself, as there is a space to enter the previous version's serial number.  Enter the serial for the previous version (CS3 Web Standard) which results in a no go in resolving the number.  The tool suggests I go back and install the trial version and then deal with the issue with Adobe support.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so could you please share your experiences and/or resolution path?

I did my homework on this one and purchased the "Upgrade from Creative Suite 3.x" offering.  The CS3 works like a champ.  When I attempt to do the install of CS4 I get the error message when I enter the CS3 serial number.  Any thoughts, guidance or suggestions are welcomed.  I'm resistant to going the trial version route for fear that I'll not get resolution in time and have my project impacted.  I can probably get by with Fireworks, but PS is preferred and the driving reason for the upgrade.  Thanks!

  • CS4 Web Premium Installation "Installer Database Corrupt.  Contact Adobe Customer Service."

    I need help.
I just purchased a HP Envy 23 running Windows 8.  It came with Adobe Premiere and Elements 11 already installed.
I own Lightroom 3, which I installed very quickly and easily.
I own CS4 Web Premium with the serial number at hand.  I insert the disk 1 to install and the error message appears: "Installer Database Corrupt. Contact Adobe Customer Service."  After serveral attempts, I resort to researching on this forum.
In the forum, found here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1238032 I was asked to go the linked website and download and specifically follow the instructions to install CS4 from the internet.  I did what I was told as closely as possible.
I received the same error message: "Installer Database Corrupt."
I asked if I needed to uninstall Elements 11 before trying to install CS4 but haven't received a response.  Actually, now Adobe won't let me sign on with my password and when I request for a new one it doesn't send me a confirmation email so I have resorted to making a new username.
I called Adobe about the issue with the error and was directed back here to the forum because they do not have phone service support for CS2, CS3, CS4, or CS5 because it is "old" technology.  I am loosing lots of work time because I can't seem to get a quick response to my questions here on the forum.
I found another forum saying that I need to rename the file "caps.db." to "xcaps.db" and it will install just fine.  I did what it said, looking for any and every folder in both premiere and elements to rename anything that began with "caps"  After doing so, I still got the error message.
What I need to know is:
    1. How can I install CS4 Web Premium either by disk or internet without getting an error.
    2. Must I totally uninstall Elements and Premiere to get CS4 installed?  I really don't want to do that since I paid for them with the purchase of my computer.
I'd really like some answers.  Thanks.

You're going to need to be more specific about what I am supposed to do because I'm very unfamiliar with computer lingo.  I don't know what an OEM is and I am unsure about these backup disks you are referring to.  The expertise on this forum is the only lifeline I have to fixing this Adobe issue so I really want to try my best here to get things resolved.  I've not heard of deleting caps.db and haven't heard of anything to do with medai.db files before.  I'm supposed to delete these instead of renaming caps?

  • Problems reinstalling CS3 Web Premium

I have been having problems with Dreamweaver CS3, it has been freezing on me when I go to save something. Anyway I thought if I reinstall Dreamweaver, the problem would go away. When I go to reinstall Dreamweaver, it says to insert the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium DVD, when I already inserted that. Why is it saying that and how can I go pass that message? I am going to purchase CS4 web premium upgrade, but that will not be for a while.

Thanks for a prompt reply Bob...
I haven't got that far - when I try to install CS3 on my iMac the installation aborts and I'm getting a message that's saying I've installed the software too many times and to get in touch with Adobe...
I currently have the CS3 suite on my MacBook only and cannot deactivate it due to not having my correct administrator name/PW...
(I also have older versions of Dreamweaver and Fireworks on another older G5 Mac that is on my network - but I don't think that is contributing to the problem)

  • Flash will not install from CS4 Web Premium on XP

I installed CS4 Web Premium a while back and, since I do not do a lot of Flash development, I didn't realize right off that Flash CS4 did not install. However, I just tried to go back and install it from the DVD and it shows in the list but the box in front of it is uncheckable. The heading at the top says to check the boxes to install or reinstall the applications. Other programs such as Dreamweaver, Contribute, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. can be checked but the box in front of Flash (and Soundbooth, etc.) are unresponsive. I do still have CS3 Web Premium on this machine which has Flash CS3 Professional and Flash CS3 Video Encoder as well as also still having Studio 8 and CS 2 with Flash 8 and Flash 8 Video encoder and InDesign CS2 & CS3, Visual Communicator, VlogIt, etc.. Do I need to remove any of those first? This machine is about 3 years old (Dell Optiplex GX620) running Win XP. I'm about to upgrade to a new machine in about a month that will be running Windows 7. So I will be doing a clean install of CS4 Web Premium then. But it would be nice to fix this so I can work on some Flash files before then. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm assuming you are using the Manual Install. Did you already Uninstall any current Flash Player version?
If not, download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Use the EXE Installer for Windows and Internet Explorer. Use the EXE Installer for the plugin based browsers
Then use the Administrator Account and CLOSE all browser Windows. Disable any instant messenger service from the system tray.
Run the Uninstaller and reboot(restart) your computer.
Then Run the Installer and reboot.
That message appears because the IE browser window is open.
    Thanks,

  • No Acrobat Pro 9 in CS4 Web Premium?

I purchased an upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web Premium via the Adobe Store and downloaded all of the files listed on the download page. When I was done running all of the install programs, which included some add-on fonts and other stuff, I could not find Acrobat Pro 9. After reviewing all of the documentation and searching the KB and forums, I initiated a chat but the agent claimed that he couldn't access those records and told me to call the 800 number. I called but after listening to crummy music for 15 minutes, I hung up. Next, I submitted a Customer Service ticket. The ticket has sat there for 3 days with no response. I've posted a comment each day voicing my frustration, to no avail. Not getting any help, I downloaded Acrobat Pro 9 Pro Trial Edition and installed it, only to find out that my serial number didn't work on that installation of Acrobat Pro. Today I called the 800 number again and got through to a human. Maybe it was a language barrier but I had to repeat everything 3 times and then she would tell me to do something that I just told her I had already done. Finally I was transferred to someone I could understand and who could understand me. I also learned that no Acrobat Pro 9 install except the one with the suite would work so I removed Acrobat 9 Pro Trial Edition. Finally, after many questions and checking everything we could think of, he suggested trying the installer again to see if Acrobat 9 Pro was listed as one of the programs in the suite but just didn't get installed. I found no Acrobat 9 Pro on the list of available software listed on the installer screen. I have updated that second ticket which was started by the final person I spoke to and I sit here waiting. I want my software and want someone to tell me how to obtain the product I paid for! With so many companies finally taking an interest in customer service and support, Adobe sure doesn't seem to be following that trend. This is one of the worst support experiences that I have had for a long time. Granted, I only interact with support systems occasionally but even so... I love the note saying the "We would love to hear from you" but the only method to contact them is by phone. How many people are going to wait for such a long time just to tell someone that they provide poor customer service?

Why don't you call support again and ask if you can have a copy of the discs with your serial number? I don't know if there is a small fee but I prefer to have discs than a download. Then you can try reinstalling.
