Installing Secure Certificates for Acessing WLAN

We have a secure WiFi access network at our office. It uses a .der certificate for root and a .p12 certificate for individual users. I have a Nokia E51. Can you assist me as to how I can install these certificates and access the secure WiFi Lan in my workplace.

Hi,
first you would need to install the required certificates to the phone by using pc suite or memory card. Then at the office scan for the wifi networks and creat access point for your company's wifi. After access point is created, go to it's security settings and configure needed EAP settings for it. How to configure EAP depends on what EAP type your company's wifi is using.

  • Problem installing SSL certificate for CPS

I work at a medium-sized University, and we have used
Contribute 3 with CPS1.11 for well over a year. Recently, however,
the Contribute clients began having difficulty logging in to CPS.
At first this was intermittent, but is now constant. Adobe support
suggested replacing the CPS self-signed SSL certificate with a
genuine one, because apparently the self-signed certificate is
    causing communication delays and timeouts.
I have the certificate, and am trying to use keytool (see
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/keytool.html)
to install it, but it is asking me for a keystore password, which I
don't know. Apparently the standard defaults are "changeit" or
"passphrase", but neither of these work.
As a test, I created a fresh install of CPS and attempted to
list the keys in the keystore, but again was asked for a keystore
password and the defaults did not work. Adobe support suggested I
ask here. Anybody have any experience installing a certificate for
    CPS?

Are you sure that the certificate needs to be installed to all users? Can you provide more details about the certificate and its purposes?

  • Expired Security Certificate for Flash Player 10.2.153.1 Install

When I tried to update the Flash Player to the latest release, 10.2.153.1, Adobe tried to download the latest DLM. This is normal. Windows 7 gives the the option to check the publisher's security certificate, which I always do. This time I found that the certificate for Adobe had expired on 3/16/2011.  Since today is 3/21/2011, and the fix was made available today, I aborted the install. An expired certificate would be fine if the date the file was signed was in the period the certificate was valid, but there is no way to check that.
What is going on here?  Has someone hacked the Adobe servers? Or is this just an "Oops" on the part of Adobe.

Hi, Since that's the latest update that just came out, I haven't had time to check that. Is the certificate for the DLM perhaps?
What about the certificate with the Flash Player you have Installed currently? What does it say?
    Thanks,

  • Installing secure certificates (from I.E.) for Mai...

I got a new N73 a week ago and have since then tried to install the secure certificate issued by my MS Outlook server (outlook web access) to access exchange so that I can work Nokia's Mail for Exchange.
Now - this certificate is valid since on my previous phone (not symbian based - it installed and worked fine.)
I have followed several resources online and none work. I have exported .cer files and .der files.
To get the certificate files to the phone is not the issue. It's once they reach the phone that the problem starts. Only base-64 encoded x509.cer files show as "readable" files on the handset. Problem though that these files only open with a notepad reader. I want to install the certificate, not read the thing.
Am I just being stupid here or what but I have called several of the Nokia support centers (South Africa and United Kingdom) and they don't know how to install such on an N73 either... ???
Is there any hope out there ?

The icon should show up as a light blue background (round circle) with a questionmark.
    ==DONE
As if it's something wrong with the file.
== Phone says "unable to open file"
You should export the DER encoded binary file.
    == Done
What your doing wrong is that you first have to click on the certification path and then chose the next certificate on the tree (in my case starfield secure certification authority), not the root, then press view certificate then go to details and export.
== File Exported - from PC onto PC desktop.
You cannot immediatlely go to details after you've opened up the certificate window and press copy to file.
== It is here where I get stuck...
I can export the file but HOW do I get it to INSTALL on the phone. I copied the file (all steps above) to the phone (from PC), once I try to open it, it says - "Unable to open file"...
If I use the phone's browser to go to the web page where the certificate lies, the phone asks me if I want to continue since the certificate is invalid, I can view the details but can not save it here...
    Please help

  • Security Certificate for BizTalk server

    Hello,
We need to have a party certificate for EDI communication for ourselves, as required by some of our trading partners. Currently we have EDI implemented but moving to BizTalk platform. So we do have a certificate for our party in our current AS2 software.
My question is, can we use the same certificate for our party once moved to BizTalk (different computer, different environment). And if not, where would you go to obtain one?
    Thanks a lot!
    Galina

    Hi Galina,
You can use the same certificate which you used in non-BizTalk to BizTalk EDI integration. Security by using certificate is not specific to BizTalk; it’s all related to cryptography and digital signature.
BizTalk just provides a way to support those security implementations. So you can very well use the same certificates used in non BizTalk to BizTalk environment as part of your migration.
For party resolution, you have to use the public certificate of your trading partner. So this certificate must have been shared to you by your trading partner. In your non-BizTalk EDI communication for party
resolution you would have used this public key/certificate. This certificate (public key) is not related to BizTalk or non-BizTalk EDI products. This is used to implement public-private key pair of digital signature. For BizTalk you have to install this public
    certificate in “Other People store”
Just and additional info, if you don’t have this (or misses this in future) you have to get this public key from your trading partner to whom you exchange EDI messages.
If this answers your question please mark it accordingly. If this post is helpful, please vote as helpful.

  • Is there an email security certificate for iCloud?

I had a mobileMe security certificate in Leopard that worked with Apple Mail.  After getting a new machine, installing Lion and subscribing to iCloud I no longer have an Apple mail certificate for my iCloud/MobileMe account.  I would like to get a free one and install it if there is one still available from Apple.
Also, I see that Comodo offers free e-mail certificates, but I haven't had any joy with installing that for my other e-mail domains.
    Any suggestions?  Verisign?

  • Install SSL certificate for OAM 11gR2

Experts, I wanted to know some recommended urls, links etc for configuring and installing SSL certs for OAM 11gR2.
Base install for OAM is working fine and all consoles are ok.
I have found following link from the docs
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/core.1112/e28516/sslconfig.htm#ASADM1800
Please confirm above link would suffice to install and configure SSL.
Any other challenges or issues likely to come up would help, like importing certificates and root certificate etc.

Assuming you're referring to SSL between OAM Server and WebGate, it is documented here: Securing Communication - 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)

  • Invalid security certificate for my website host-they say the problem is Apple Safari and use Firefox instead

For the past few days, I keep getting an invalid security certificate in Safari whenever I select Edit My Site from my website homepage (http://annaporterartist.com), or whenever I select anything requiring a secure log in from my website host main page (FASO.com). I have contacted technical support at my website host (fineartstudioonline.com) and they say that this has been an intermittently recurring problem in Safari for years and they recommend that I use Firefox instead. As proof of this they emailed a link to an Apple Support discussion, but it was for Mac OS X Lion v 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1, even though I told them I am using Mac OS X Mountain Lion v 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2. I do not get this error message anywhere else on the web using Safari. I did try Firefox and it seems to work fine, but I prefer Safari and I want to know why Safari is not working as it should be. I am concerned that there is a real security problem with my website host and I need someone to explain why I am getting this error message, what it means, and if it is, in fact, a known problem with Safari or is my website host corrupted? Really tired of technical support playing pass the buck or pretending the problem does not exist.
    The specific error message is:
Their response to my inquiry and my reply is shown below:

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. What is selected in each of them?

  • Firefox (21.0) won't accept the security certificate for Twitter & won't let me add an exception.

My mother was having problems with her computer on the Internet and had to reset the modem. Problem was, I was on the Internet at the time using Twitter. She reset the modem, I thought everything was okay, but now Firefox isn't letting me access Twitter at all because of the security certificate. Here's the error message:
    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to twitter.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
twitter.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.
The certificate is only valid for gateway.2wire.net
    (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)
gatway.2wire.net is the default error page for my modem, if the Internet is not working at all. I think the problem here is that now Firefox thinks the legitimate site for Twitter is the error page and not, well, Twitter.com. Also, I'm not getting any "add exception" option. How do I fix this?

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Is there a way to change the CSR for install SSL Certificate for CCMADMIN

    HI there,
Our customer want a solution for the https failure on CCMAdmin and CCMUser sites.
For that, I have exported a csr to buy a ssl certificate from verisign.
The problem is the csr includes fqdn an not just the servername
But the users just have to type in the servername to reach the server.
Is there a way to export a csr which include as common name only the server name without changing the domain settings in the cucm?
    thanks
    Marco

    Hi
You can go to the server via SSH, and enter the 'set web-security' command with the alternate-host-name parameter:
    Command Syntax
set web-security orgunit orgname locality state country alternate-host-name
    Parameters
    • orgunit represents the organizational unit.
    • orgname represents the organizational name.
    • locality represents the organization location.
    • state represents the organization state.
    • country represents the organization country.
    • alternate-host-name (optional) specifies an alternate name for the host when you generate a
    web-server (Tomcat) certificate.
Note When you set an alternate-host-name parameter with the set web-security command,
self-signed certificates for tomcat will contain the Subject Alternate Name extension with
the alternate-host-name specified. CSR for Cisco Unified Communications Manager will
contain Subject Alternate Name Extension with the alternate host name included in the CSR.
Typically you would still use an FQDN, but a less specific one (e.g. ccm.company.com)...

    Aaron

  • What are the foreign security certificates for?

I see a lot of foreign security certificates stored for FireFox. What are these and can I delete them? Some are from Taiwan, China, Turkey and Spanish countries.

That are built-in root certificates that are used to trust websites that you access via a secure (https) connection.
    You can't remove a built-in root certificate.
You can edit the trust bits of built-in root certificates and uncheck all trust bits to prevent Firefox from using the certificate as a root certificate if you really want to, but that isn't recommended.

  • Invalid security certificate for all websites on Mac (sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Since connecting to my university network, a message in Firefox systematically keeps popping up for every website. I'm now using internet somewhere else - where I've been connected many times before without a problem - and firefox keeps annoyingly giving me this message.
This is the message: cs-700-main(...):443 uses an invalid security certificate. This certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. Sec_error_unknown_issuer.
Apparently the organization issuing the certificate is 'vernier networks, inc.'.
I am using a Macbook bought recently and didn't have any problems until I connected to my university network. I'm not really familiar with Macs, so I don't really know what to do at this point to fix this. Apparently, people have had this problem before but no one has been able to help them. Can anyone help? This is really frustrating and it means I have to turn to Safari or Google Chrome!!
    Thanks

It is related to browser settings do,
Firefox -> Tools -> Advanced -> view certificates -> servers -> Add exceptions
and add the your url in that dialogue box.

  • Unable to install WildCard Certificate for ASA 5512-x

Have a customer who we manage an ASA 5512-X for.  I am configuring a Wildcard Certificate for AnyConnect. They have a wildcard certificate purchased through Godaddy.com.  I am utilizing ASDM 7.3 for the installation of the certificate.  I added the Identity Certificate ASDM_TrustPoint0.  Checked the radio button "Add a new identity certificate:"  Named the Key Pair WildCard, and set the size to 2048.  I also changed the "Certificate Subject DN: to CN=cityvpn.wirapids.org.  There were no other attributes to add.  I also changed the FQDN under the advanced tab to the same cityvpn.wirapids.org.  Then clicked Add Certificate.  Successful
Under CA Certificates I added the certificate from file.  Which I added the bundle.crt from Godaddy.  Certificate was added successfully.
Going back to Identity Certificates.  I click on install.  Install from a file.  Which I tried the other crt file and the bundle file from Godaddy.  I get an Error: Failed to parse or verify imported certificate.  With the other .crt file from Godaddy I get the same error, but "Certificate does not contain device's General Purpose Public Key."
Not sure what to think.  Any suggestions or help would be great.  Thanks
    Paul

You should never ever get a wildcard certificate. Because if that certificates private key gets stolen, the thief can impersonate all ssl-protected services. The clients view them as valid resources, because the certificate is correct. The only thing to do then, is to revocate the certificate, which will cause you to get a new certificate installed on ALL services that you had protected with the wildcard one.
Even worse, most broswers (besides IE) ignore certificate revocation lists in various cases!

  • Install SSL certificate for Oracle HTTP server

I received a PFX file that contains an SSL wildcard certificate for our company *.xyz.com.
I used this tool "xca" to extract two files: "server.crt" and "serverkey.pem".
I want to install this on the oracle 11g HTTP server (OHS) installed as standalone based on apache 2.2
With oracle, i have to create a wallet and point the SSL.CONF wallet directive to use that wallet.
I used Oracle Wallet Manager to create it and import the certificate but this is where i am having a problems.
First I could not restart the web server but the it worked but I got SSL handshake errors (Shown below).
According to oracle steps, I have to create a CSR and then import the certificate into the wallet
    http://www.apache.com/resources/how-to-setup-an-ssl-certificate-on-apache/
However, when I tried to use Oracle Wallet Manager, there were two options: import server certificate and trusted certificate.
The import server certificate was greyed out. I had to create a CSR just to get it enabled but I did not use the CSR, i just imported the "server.crt" file.
I also tried to import the "serverkey.pem" into the trused certificate option but was rejected (invalid certificate).
Do you know how to create a successful wallet based on the files i have and not creating a CSR since i already have a certificate file?
