Internal Order need

HI Experts,
As SAP says, both cost centers and internal orders used for tracking cost , where as Internal orders used for tracking costs for short term jobs.
my question is...
why do i want to maintain an internal order , i can use separate cost center for those short term jobs...
what exactly the use and advantage of internal orders rather than maintain a separate cost center.
Thank in advance
jerry

A cost center as you will know is for fixed reporting for a long time span as part of your company structure (cost center usually = department or work center).
An internal order is used to accumulate cost for a specific project or task for a specific time period. An internal order is therefore used for a short period with a specific deadline.
Your internal order will usually settle to cost centers (and not visa versa) according to the settlement rule in the order setup.
An internal order can therefore be used to group all the expenses incurred to plan and hold a conference over a 3 month period. The order can be settled on a monthly basis to cost centers.
When the conference is finished the order can be settled finally. The cost of the conference will then be spread over 2 or more cost centers, but can be viewed in total on the internal order when needed.
Settlements are used for orders. In the setup of each order is a "settlement rule". In this settlement rule you tell the system to which cost centers the cost in the order must be settled.
Typically, you will execute the following procedure at month-ends:
1. Settle all orders - this will settle all costs on orders to cost centers.
2. Run assessment cycles - Now that you have al costs against cost centers from your orders, you can start distributing costs between cost centers with assessments.
Costs are posted to an order. When you process a purchase order you post to the internal order and not to a cost center. The same applies to journals in FI. You will post the costs to the order and not to a cost center. You will then settle the order on month-ends to post to the relevant cost centers. It is very important to settle these orders otherwise FI and CO will not
balance on your system.
Internal orders can also be used as "statistical" orders. This is also specified in the setup of the order. You do not have to settle statistical orders. When posting costs, you will post to the cost center and the order simultaneously. Both have to be specified when posting journals or purchase orders against statistical orders.
hope this helps

  • Report Internal Order needed - showing Plan and Budget Values?

    Hello,
I want to create a report (Report Writer/Painter) which shows for example in one column the planned values and in another column the budget value of an order group.
I know the standard reports S_ALR_87012993 - Orders: Actual/Plan/Variance and the other standard report S_ALR_87013019 - List: Budget/Actual/Commitments.
My question: Is it possible at all to have these both values plan and budget by order/order group in one report? - Or it is not possbile because these values are stored in different tables and different libraries?
If it is possible with Report Writer, I would be very glad - if not, is there any other chance (e.g. individual programmed report)?
For any comments or hints thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    VCG

    HI,
both are report painter reports for libraries 6O1 and 6O2 which are based on reporting tables CCSS and RWCOOM.
Try to find all value fields that you need in 6O2 / RWCOOM as this is the "big brother" of 6O1/ CCSS.

  • Need help in understanding FA acquisition via Internal Order

    Hi Gurus
I need your help in understanding the FA acquisition via Internal Order. The process we are following is that we create AUC using the AUC asset class and enter that AUC number in the settlement rule while creating IO. Once IO budget is approved, we release the IO. Once GR is completed, we do the Invoice receipt for the PO, followed by settlement of IO against the AUC. Afterwards, we create fixed asset in AS01 and enter this asset number in the settlement rule for the AUC in AIAB and settle the AUC to Fixed asset for the costs.
My question is that during all this process, I don't see the PO information in the AUC record. When I display AUC, under the Enviornment tab, I see the Purchase order link but when I click it, there is nothing in there. The reason could be that we are creating AUC seperatly and not from within the IO where it says create AUC. I am not sure what is the best way for the whole process.
I would be thankful if you can guide me.
    Thanks,
    Shalu

    Hi
Can someone please help me with this issue?

  • New internal order type--need help

    Dear all:
i have a case need help.
now i want to create a new internal order type ,and assign a new number range and a default settlement rule to it .
the settlement rule is that the actual costs of this  internal order type need to be
sent to a cost element .
what should i do step by step?
    thanks!
    best regards!

    Hi,
    2. Order Master Data
    2.1 Define Order types (KOT2_OPA)
IMG Controlling  Internal Orders Order Master Data  Define Order Types
An Internal order is created under an Order type. An order type is used for storing various control parameters and various defaults while creating an internal order. It is used for classifying various types of internal orders according to usage for e.g. Real orders for trade fairs, real orders for Capital investment measure, Statistical orders for motor vehicle expenses.
The order type is client-specific, which means that every order type can be used in all controlling areas. A number range is assigned to the internal order type.
    Click on “New Entries”
Take a drop in the field Order category and select 01
    Enter
    Update the following
    Give Order Type :- Z810
Description :- Traders First Real order type
    Object Class :- OCOST overhead
Reference Order :- Collective order without automatic goods movement
    Residence time 1 :- 12 months
    Residence time 2 :- 1 month
Check “Commit Management and Check Integrated Planning
Activate CO Partner Updating -You activate this so that allocations between orders and other CO objects (cost centers, projects, etc.), the partner information is retained and whether for each order a totals record should be written.
    Save
    Click on “Field Selection”
Here you can hide the various fields or make it as required entry or only display or available for input. Thus while creating internal order only those fields are displayed and available for input.
    Click Save
2.2 Maintain Number Ranges for Orders (KONK)
IMG Controlling  Internal Orders  Order Master Data Maintain Number Ranges for Orders
Number Range needs to be assigned to the internal order type. Number range can be internal or external. In Internal numbering system automatically assigns a number from the given number range. In external numbering the user has to manually assign the number from the given number range.
We will configure internal number range for our internal order type – Trade Fair
Click on Group Maintain (From the menu bar)
Click on Group  Insert (From the menu bar)
    Update the following
    From Number: - 910000000000
    To Number: - 919999999999
Click in “plus icon” at the left bottom of the screen
    Click Save
You will find internal order type Z810 in not assigned
You need to assign the order type to the group we created above. Proceed as follows:-
Position the cursor on: - Z810 Trade Fair real order type
Click on “Arrow”   Z810 Trade Fair real order type note it turns blue
Select Check mark Z810 A ltd India fair real order
    Click “Element Group”
The internal order type Z910 moves under the group which can be seen as follows:-
Z810: A Ltd India Trade fair real order / Z810 Trader Fair real order type.
    Click Save
Select: - Z810: A Ltd India Trade fair real order / Z810 Trader Fair real order type.
    Click on “Pencil” icon.
    Click Back arrow.
    2.3 Define Model Orders
    IMG Controlling Internal Orders Order Master Data Screen Layout
    Define Model Orders
Model orders are not orders in the commercial sense, but serve merely as references for creating "normal" orders. Model orders contain default values for the orders in an order type. The Model order is assigned as the reference order in the order type.
When you create a new order, all the fields active in the relevant order type are copied from the model order to the new order.
    Example
You want to settle all your marketing orders to the same sales cost center. Stipulate the cost center as the default value in the model order for marketing orders.
When you create a new marketing order, the system defaults this cost center. If you want to settle the order to a different cost center, you can overwrite the default cost center in the orders.
We will create a model order with some defaults and assign it to the Trade fair internal order type
    Click “Create CO Model Order”
Press F4 and select ($$) 03 model order
Click on the master data and update the following
    Order: - $$$ Z81000001
Description text: - A Limited Trade affair
    Click Save
Assign this model order to the order type Z810
Update the reference order with the model order number $$$Z81000001 in the reference order field
    Click on save.

  • Help needed with reporting statistical internal orders

    Dear experts,
I'm required to report Statistical, Real and Planned internal orders on a single report. I'm using infocube 0COOM_C02 for the same. While reporting Real and Planned internal orders, we can simply restrict key figure 0AMOUNT to Value Type to 10 and 20 respectively. I need to know if there's any value type for statistical internal orders? Can we extract the statistical internal order data using the standard extracters for this infocube or we'll need customized extractors. Please guide. Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Sumit

    Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your reply. I think we can extract all internal orders using standard extractors but as far as reporting them is concerned, If we use cost centre not equal not not assigned, than we may report some real internal orders because many real orders may be associated with a cost centre. I'm a little confused here. A clarification will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    below format is an example.
release code   cost center        internal order number   PR number  PO number  SES number  vendor name  desc of item cost of item
    Thanks.

    Hi Pal,
Many Thanks for your input, as per your recommendation
Mani as you suggested ME2K was working fine, but anyway we need to drill down further to double of each field.
As Nico suggested building a query, to view all at a same time is good & perfect to use.
So please suggest me, what are the tables and fields map to build a query? because Itu2019s very easy for me to assign fast.

  • Including down payment made to vendor in the internal order

    Hi all
    My requirement is like this.
We use IM and IO(Capex orders) for procuring and capitalising assets. We are able to assign all the costs of procuring assets (both APC and incidental expenses to the internal order). We use purchase orders and assign the internal order while raising purchase order.
Sometimes we do make Down payments(advances) without raising purchase orders. My question is how to include this down payment made in the internal order. We cannot assign any internal order while making the down payment. But, can we include this down payment made to vendor in the internal order(commitment) while making down payment or after that.
FYI:I came to know that there is some functionality in Controlling (Project systems) where we can assign the down payment made to the internal order after making payment. But, i do not know how to do that.
    Pls somebody reply me.
Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards,

The functionality is available in Controlling. I dont know about PS.

  • Sales Order value updating in the Internal Order Revenue Planning

    Dear All,
We have created an Internal Order and entered the planned value of the Revenue & Costs. When we create the Sales Order ,the Planned Revenue value of the Internal Order is updating by the Sales Order Value, but as per the client requirement ,the planned value of the Internal Order should not get updated by the sales order value.
Please note that we have activated the CO-PA.Is this CO-PA activation is affecting the Internal Order planned values by the Sales Order value?.If so how to come from this issue.
Please help me as how to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Subbu

    Hi,
Thanks for giving the appropriate SAP Note and I have referred the said note, but in note the SAP has said that
"The attached modification deactivates the update for the order for all order categories (CO internal order, PM order, CS order)."
In our scenario we need to update the planned vales in the CO Internal Order ,PM Order and CS Order except the Sales Order value. Is there any other alternative solution without affecting the CO Internal Order,PM order and CS Order?
Please share as we are in the process of testing.
    Thanks

  • Report on Internal orders not settled

    HI All,
I need a report on the open internal orders which are yet to be settled.
    Thanks
    Z

    Hi,
    You can check the following standard report;
    S_ALR_87012995 - List: Orders
If any Order shows a balance in the Actual column that means either it is not settled or there are still balances which can be settled. A zero in Actual means that the order is fully settled for the reporting period.

  • Proforma Invoice for Consignment Orders / Internal Orders

    Hello,
we need to implement a consigment inventory (for customers) in our EBS 12.1 environment.
A search in the forum pointed me to this flow that looks quite good already:
(quoting Sandeep Gandhi from thread: Consignment Order in Oracle ( 11.5.10.2 and R12)
    >
    1) Define each customer as an org
    2) When you receive first sales order, create an internal order to ship material from your warehouse to the customer. This ensures that your inventory is updated, shipping documents are generated and invoices are not created. This also ensures that the inventory continues to show up as an asset on your books.
    3) When you receive consumption advice from customer, create a regular sales order which will create invoices.
    4) This ensures that at any point in time, you can know exactly how much is at each customer location. And you can easily process return of consignment material by doing another Internal Order.
    >
That looks almost perfect to us, except one thing: we need a proforma invoice when we ship the material (point 2).
Does anybody know how I could generate a proforma invoice for an Internal Order?
Or did anyone solve that problem differently?
    Thanks in advance,
    David.

I know that you can generate a proforma invoice for an ISO if the ISO is between 2 different OU.
But the customer Inventory orgs I suggested earlier are typically under the same OU (unless you have reasons to do it otherwise) and so Oracle probably won't generate a Proforma invoice.
If that happens, you can create a custom document and print it along with the shipping documents for the ISO. You don't have to worry about a/c transactions since proforma invoice is basically a commitment that states price/qty etc. It is not really an AR invoice.
    Hope this helps,
    Sandeep Gandhi

  • PO and internal order

Hello i have a question concerning PO and Internal Orders.
I have created some Internal Orders and i have made a PO for assets with this internal order (internalorder1)
Now i have authorised a user with another internal order number.(internalorder2)
Can i somehow prevent a user to release POs for internal orders according to the authorised internal order.(internalorder2)
Maybe the authorization object k_order the field co_action???

If you use TCode SU24 to look at the authorization object checking for the object K_ORDER you will see that this object is not checked for TCodes ME21, ME21N, ME22, ME22N, ME23, or ME23N.  This is probably why you can still use any internal order whether you have it in your profile or not.  You might be able to add the authorization object to these to the MM_E Materials Management: Purchasing class.  I think you can use TCode SU21 to maintain these objects, but you need to check with your Basis/Security personnel.
As a test you can use SU24 to look at object M_BEST_EKO Purchasing Organization in Purchase Order.  You will find that it is checked in pretty much every PO creation or change TCode (ME21, ME21N, ME22, ME22N, ME23, ME23N, ME24, ME25, ME26, ME27, ME28, ME29N).

  • Issue While Executing the Internal Order in KO8G

    Hi,
Whle executing the internal order in KO8G,I am getting the below error.
Complete Allocation Structure A1   and Message no. KD503
I have reversed/cancelled all the relevent Material documents related to that PO,even after i am getting the same error.
    Error is as follows-
    Complete allocation structure A1
    Message no. KD503
    Diagnosis
During settlement, the system puts the sender debits into groups (assignments), which are settled using the same settlement cost element. The settlement assignment is made in the allocation structure, which is stored in the settlement rule for the sender (under settlement parameters).
Cost element 414126 cannot be assigned to a settlement cost assignment in allocation structure A1, and therefore it cannot be assigned to a settlement cost element.
    Procedure
    Possible solutions are as follows:
If the posting under cost element 414126 was made to the sender because of an incorrect entry, and you can reverse the posting, and do not need to update the allocation structure. You only need to reverse the incorrectly assigned posting before repeating the settlement. Exception: For an investment measure with a line item settlement, you need to extend the allocation structure, even after the reversal.
If the posting was made correctly, you can do the following:
    a) You can assign a different allocation structure to the sender: In the master data maintenance for the sender, choose "Settlement rule -> Goto -> Settlement parameters" and then enter a different allocation structure.
If necessary, also check whether the correct allocation structure is entered in the settlement profile. The allocation structure is defaulted in the settlement profile when you create sender master data or when you maintain the settlement rule.
You can update allocation structure A1
Kindly advice me how to fix this error
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply,I have added that cost element in allocation structure. Now i am getting one more error related to this even i have maintained Receiver type FXT and settlement cost element for that.Kindly help me on this.
Define a settlement cost element for receiver type FXA
    Message no. KD506
    Diagnosis
In allocation structure A1 (controlling area AFCO), you did not define which cost element should be used when settling costs/revenues of the sender. Nor did you define receiver type FXA.
    Procedure
Assign a different allocation structure to the settlement sender (-> Master data -> Settlement rule -> Goto -> Settlement parameters), or maintain allocation structure A1.
    Thanks
    Supriya
