International call rate charged different than what I was told by customer service

I made an emergency call to India on 3/29/09 for 13 min. I realized later that I didn't have any international plan. So I called verizon customer service on 04/03/2009 to confirm what rate I will be charged for that specific call to India. I was told I will be charged $2.60/min for India, but he can't check how long I had talk at that time, because the computer software doesn't have the feature to check it right then, It will be available till the final monthly statement get published.  Yesterday I received my online bill and saw the rate I was charged was $6.77/min. So I called today to the customer sevice and eventually talk to the manager and I was told the rate I was chraged, correct and it is available online. So I have no other option but to pay this amount as I have no proof that I was told the rate of $2.60/min, as I don't have the person's name whom I talk to on 04/03/09 and nothing in writing.
I have no problem paying this amount, but I feel I was cheated. As the person I talk earlier could have told me the correct rate on 04/03/09. It's a lesson for me, next time I will try to keep something as proof.

    Can't say I'm overly sympathetic with your situation, I'd gladly be in Cuba with no internet connection whatsoever!
    I'm not sure I can be of any help in getting you costs for calls from Cuba. Aside from roaming rates within the EU, all other prices shown are for calls from the UK to other countries - it just doesn't show prices outside the EU.
    Obviously calls made in overseas countries are local network dependent (I did some googling on roaming rates for calls to the UK from Cuba for various networks and they varied from about 140ppm to 200ppm - Vodafone, which BT piggy backs, is 149ppm).
    Cuba isn't listed separately on the BB Talk rates which means it costs the standard international rate (17.3p per minute daytime, 11.4p evening/weekend), but again, this is UK to Cuba.
    I'm not sure this is the information you needed so sorry if this isn't much help.

    iCloud is more limiting than what I was able to do on iDisk (part of MobileMe)?  Why would Apple take these services away?  Apple PLEASE bring them back.  Specifically
    Support for non-iWork Files
    Web browser access and control of all files not just iWork Files
    Ability to share with others
    iDisk has saved me many a time, allowing me to share PDF's, Omnigraffle Drawings, Measurements (from electronic systems), and even Microsoft formatted docs with Club Members (who I'm still trying to convert).  The key point is that with all of the other competting services out there, I'm worried that Apple is now taking a step back and leaving long-time customers like me to go and find something different. If I only lived in iWork I would not have an issue. 
    I paid extra money to have more iDisk space, which I know I have until June of 2012.  I'm hoping and praying that Apple adds the features that I use in iDisk to iCloud before June of 2012.

    Please Please bring iDisk back as I used it all the time in my small business and was flawless in backing up and using for PDF's and Word docs etc so I could access this all on my iPhone's and iPads etc!! I am very SAD at this news.

    First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
    First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).

  • Keyboard issue - types different than what keyboards shows

    before my keyboard settings were Spanish (Dutch), since today these settings are just Spanish ... resulting in some keys giving a different outcome than what it shows on the keyboard.
    For example when I want to type \ by using the ALT + 1st button on 2nd row I keep on getting { ... and this applies to a lot of other signs/symbols as well.
    I tried to change it through language settings but not to my surprise Spanish (Dutch) is nowhere to be found there.
    What does this Spanish (Dutch) actually mean ... and more important how can I get it back?
    I´m sure this is very easy to sort out ... I just don't seem to find the solution.
    Can anyone help?

    Your keyboard layout is determined by what box is checked in system preferences/language & text/input sources.  Go there and make sure that only the layout you want has its box checked.
    There is no keyboard layout called Spanish (Dutch).  Try Spanish ISO or Dutch and see if that is what you are used to.  If not, please provide some additional examples of particular key combinations you want and we will try to determine which layout you should check.

    Yes! I am dealing with the same thing. I called, received a ticket number, and have not heard back or received a credit/adjustment. I had a 12 month promotional good until November 2015. So after seeing this forum, I could guess there may be a glitch in Comcast's system.

    I'm having the same problem!  I signed up for a specific "promo" rate online and I never received the correct bill.  After several phone calls to Comcast (more than 8), a rep finally told me they would give me a $20 monthly credit to make my bill reflect the correct price (he couldn't actually give me the promo price).  I took the credit so that I would pay what I was originally promised.  This was in January.  When I looked at my bill this month, Comcast has removed my $20 credit!  I've called several times and was told this credit would be reapplied to my account.  So far, nothing!  I have been working on this for over a week. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

    I want to know the actual rate for international call from Guam to Palau.  The rate listed in Skype website for such a call is US 43 cents per minute.  But it looks like I was charged way over or nearly 3 time this advertised rate when I Skype call Palau from Guam.  Please advise.

  • FCP7 HELP - Exported quicktime mov plays differently than what I edited on the timeline. The playback shows the clips with ins and outs that are different than what I set in the clips when I edited - some are too early and the clips don't playback

    Please help ASAP.
    Specs: IOS 10.6.8

    Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 -- Everything is edited, sourced, and stored on an 2TB external hard drive to make things go faster.
    Editing with FCP 7
    When I export the sequence I edited with quicktime, the playback video is very different from what I edited on the timeline. The playback has the clips with ins and outs that are way off than what I cut, and some of the clips don't show at all or have changed transitions. However when I play in the timeline in FCP, the sequence is fine, just the way I cut it.
    The source of the clips was one long .mov that I cut into clips for the timeline. Everything has gone smoothly but the exported .mov is just so different.
    How can I get the time codes of the clips to be the same in the exported .movs? I just want the quicktime .mov to represent my edit exactly.
    This video is due tomorrow - if the solution is too time consuming, can I play within the FCP player window and Log and Capture?

    What is your source material? Is it H.264? FCP does not work correctly with that material.
    Click on a source clip in the FCP Browser, and once selected, type Command + 9 to see the item properties for the clip. Either report those properties, or take a screen shot of the item properties, and post that here.
    Next, click anywhere in your timeline, and then type Command + 0 {zero} to see your Sequence Settings. Either report those Sequence Settings, or take a screen shot of the Sequence Settings and post that here.

  • What's showing in the layer palette is different than what is on the canvas - Illustrator CS6

    I am not a super user in Illustrator but I know my way around it and understand more than the basics.  I downloaded this vector from Shutterstock, but what I am seeing on the layer palette is different from what is on the canvas and if I try to save or export it to anything else the result comes out looking like the layers palette - almost black.
    And it's only happening on a few of the objects, as you can see from the image, the apple and other leaves are fine.  It is also doing it to the pumkin and some of the grapes in the cornicopia.  Any idea what is going on?  I checked all my layers to see if something looked weird but they all look fine...
    When I open the original .eps file from Shutterstock in Photoshop, I get the same black objects.

    661CALLER-My SKYPE# callerID changed twice to 661+7different digits, when calling my spouse. It said Palmdale area on his cell with the accompanying#. I asked where he was when I called, he was next to a particular store both times on separate days. I am not from California which is the area code 661 Palmdale area-so possibly a SKYPE friend calling you-unknowingly being assigned a different #, because of a different LOCATION on your part or possibly theirs. I was told they patch in #'s typically a California area code another ex. 559. He answered the calls even with the odd area code & answered in a hesitant voice, then told me it said Palmdale when I called-fyi-my location was consistent for a year laptop on kitchen table-he was traveling to costco store both times when happened-Call was normal just different caller ID both times.

I was told that I could get a discount for signing up for automatic billing, but I did not get a discount and I did not see the discount written anywhere on the web site either.  I was also told that I could get a discount for being elderly and disabled.  Neither of those claims were true either.  I am on a fixed income and can not afford extra expenses.  You sales staff, web site and process mislead and confuse customers purposefully.  I was not told that it would cost me $380 to get out of my two year commitment, but I found it in the fine print after I committed contractually.  So far my experience with Verizon wireless service has shown to be corrupt in the lack of informing customers of their real costs.  This is no way to run a business that needs to rely on reputation and word of mouth business. Your business is just another big corporation that is profiting from extreme greed without a care for their customers.  Whatever happened to truth in advertising? Then the worst of it is that I cannot get a contact person to talk to that is not a sales person.  It was one of their (several actually) sales staff that misled me to begin with. This note is the only forum I could find to complain.

    The first bill is almost always higher because of prorated charges.  So if your bill prints on the 15th and you started service on the 30th of the prior month, your first bill will have half a month's charge for the 30th-15th, then the usual month in advance charges for the 15th-14th of the next month.  Discounts for autopay, I believe, take a month or two to show up.  There is a plan for people 65+, and you should be able to change to that plan if you want to, just make sure the change is set to take place the first day of the next bill period. 
    The other $40 in charges probably include activation and possibly insurance on the phone, and you should be able to pull up a detailed bill in MyVerizon with each line charge described. 
    How did you start your service?  Did you go to a store, call, or order online?  The ETF for a smartphone is $350, not $380, and if you were not informed of that you should have been, although if I were setting up service with a contract, I ask the terms of the contract, like fees, time frame, service and all that. Did you enter the agreement under the impression that there was no penalty for early cancellation?
    Finally, this is primarily a customer to customer forum with occasional input from reps.  They are identified with a Verizon logo.  If you need immediate action, you will need to call.  I hope you are able to get everything straightened out and explained!

    These services are based on the customer requirements and is included into the flow blue print (standard flow defination of a data object).
    For eg : While performing Delta-download, you need to archive some data in DOE based on their business requirements.
