Internet content to Intranet

Ok, I am reall new to Java. This is what I want to do. I want to supply a weather radar map to users on my intranet. My server has internet access, but the clients don't. How can I make my server get an image off the internet every couple of minutes and store it on the server. Then I would be able to link the image directly to a web page on my intranet, thus giving the clients the image even though they don't have direct internet access. Could someone point me to some tutorials on this. I've tried to search, but I don't even know what the proper terms are for what I want to do. Thanks.

Create a URL object
Open that URL and open a stream to it
URL theUrl = new URL("http://www.x.com/"); InputStream readStream = theUrl.openStream();
//read the data you need
readStream.close();

    Is there a way to share internet content from my Macbook Air to my tv using apple tv?

    It should appear. Are you using OS X 10.8.4 "Mountain Lion"? That and the presence of an AirPlay device on your LAN should be all that is required. Read the troubleshooting steps in Troubleshooting AirPlay Mirroring later in that same document.
    Your router may be an obstacle. What is its model number? A newer model, or a firmware update for it may be required.

  • Apple TV Needs More Internet Content

    I love my Apple TV, but the limited amount of Internet content is driving me crazy.  I thought HULU would help but the offerings there are not that much different than NETFLIX and who needs to pay for commercials?  I'm getting ready to buy a second Internet device (ROKU?) to reach what's available to the rest of the world (Amazon, PBS, current network and cable providers). What is everyone else using to access Internet content?

    AppleTV, iPad, Mac Book Pro, iPhone.

  • Revised: can I stream internet content from a cell phone network to the apple tv?

    So I am trying to stream internet content from my iphone (phone network) to the Apple TV. I currently do not have internet at my house. What I do have is a macbook pro, airport express, ipad (wifi only), and of course iphone and apple tv. So is there a way to configure these devices to somehow stream my phone content to my apple tv. As of now the only way to connect the iphone to the apple tv is through wifi; the bluetooth that apple tv supports is elementary and will not support this connection. When the iphone is on a wifi network it automatically tries to use it for internet content. So 1 option would have to be a work around for making the iphone use the cell phone network for pulling internet content and using the wifi to broadcast this content to the apple tv. Another option would be to connect the iphone with the macbook pro via bluetooth (somehow) and then mirror the macbook pro to the apple tv via the wifi network setup with the airport express. ANY IDEAS?

    You wouldnt be able to to use both networks at the same time. Either need to connect the Apple TV to the cell network (which will require a lot of data and impact battery life) or get a home plan and broadcast over the local network (wifi)

  • Internet Content -- what do you get?

    I want to buy a Smart TV that I can connect to my home network via LAN, then watch HULU, YouTube, and whatever other content is available. I like the Panasonic Viera X series.
    It appears, however, that a lot of internet content is blocked for Smart TV's.
    Question:  Am I limited to whatever apps are mentioned on a given TV?  Do I have to buy another device in order to watch more content?  Do I have to pay for additional services?  If the TV doesn't say that it get Hulu Plus, then can I watch Hulu at all?
    Thanks.

    Yes. you are limited to whatever content apps are on the TV.
    Yes, you can purchase other devices (Roku, Logitech Revue, etc), to get additional content.
    Please be aware that licensing for such things is renegotiated at intervals, and may or may not be available in six months.
    Yes, you have to pay for additional hardware, and many of the services are also paid services.  The free ones are good for viewing older material; newer programming and movies will only be available on the paid subscription services.
    If the TV does not support a service, then you cannot use the TV to view that service, period.You would need a device that does support it.

  • Streaming Internet Content

    I purchased Apple TV expecting that I could stream any Internet content to our HDTV. Specifically, content from an NHL Live Subscription so my husband would not need to view on the laptop but instead watch the games on our HDTV screen. I'm learning that this is likely not possible now, a huge disappointment. Does anyone know if this can be achieved. Any possible work arounds? Or am I buying a new device to make this happen.
    So choked about the limitations of Apple TV.

  • Redirect external user (internet) & internal user (intranet)

    Hi, we are developing a public portal services in which we have two kind of user: a) public user that access through internet to the portal. b) internal user that access inside a domain to the portal.
    We want to know How we can know which is the external and which is the internal in order to assign a portal desktop.
    I have seen in the forms the following options:
    1.-> IISPROXY
    2.-> SPNEGO
    3.-> APACHE & SAPDISPATCHER
    1.-> It seems that we the last release of the portal is obsolete
    2.-> It seems that SPNEGO is for internal use only (intranet).
    3.-> I have not documentation about.
    I would be very grateful if someone give a solution and documentation or links about it.
    Thanks in advanced.
    Regards.

    Hi Optima,
      You can use a appIntegrator to distinguish intranet/ extranet users..
      Have a look at "HowToUseAppIntegrator_en.pdf" from service market place.

  • Internet content filters

    Any way to provide content filtering for web access (aka: block porn, etc.)? The previously posted solution was "Unite" software which is no longer available.

    I would recommend Content Barrier (www.intego.com), although I think it does block sites based on a list, it is very good and will monitor the admin account as well. Plus a trial version is available which is always a plus.
    The only content filter that monitors based on actual site content is DansGuardian which is free, but I found a pain to set up. Still, it's worth trying if you can find a decent mac setup guide. A mac version is available here: http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/DansGuardian.shtml, and the DansGuardian homepage is here: http://dansguardian.org/

  • How to maximize safari internet content to fit full screen?

    I just 've bought Macbook Pro 17" yesterday and I have a problem about Safari.
    After I opened it to full screen but the content of internet did not fit the full screen.
    I had to zoom in content to maximize it to fit screen but it's inconvenient.
    After opened new window, it was still same.
    Thank you.

    You have to strech the window out first, then it doesn't aways rememebr it.
    Safari has a zoom page feature, hold the command shift and plus (or minus) key.
    Problem is you have to do it for every single site, quit Safari and you have to do all again.
    Firefox has NoSquint add-on, which you can set a default minimal zoom level for all sites, and/or tweak each page and then IT REMEMBERS IT.
    If you got the high res model, you may also want to look into Theme Font & Size Changer for Firefox, it allows the type of Firefox itself (in the toolbar area) to be increased so it's not so tiny.
    This is another problem with Apple, not making their UI slightly scaleable and keeing the sharpness.
    But that's life.

  • Internet Content Filtering

    Hello; I am looking at Purchasing a BB Curve from Verizon Wireless (all of our phones are with them now).
    I need to figure out how to set-up Internet (WEB) content filtering without using BES.  We are not setup with Microsoft exchange server etc.  I will be the only employee with a Blackberry.
    Can this be done without using BES?  I have searched HIGH and LOW and have found NOTHING that tells me if this can be acheived and how.
    Verizon Wireless offers Web Content filtering but of course NOT for BBs.

  • Internet and now Intranet?

    I teach in a public school. They have there servers set up so that we can do everything we do at school at home. We can even access our computer at school.
    HOWEVER, inorder to do this you have to log in on the "Intranet".
    WHAT is a "Intranet"? I would ask at school but I do not want to look stupid.
    My Mac has a lot of trouble browsing the "Intranet" and some sites will not load at all. I am guessing it is because they are useing Windows?
    Thanks for any help.

    Web pages that do not load point to networking issues including firewalls, DNS errors, routing errors, or related misconfigurations, or constructs such as nanny filters.
    Seldom do web site reachability errors result from the generic use of Microsoft Windows on the web server, nor any other operating system for that matter. IP is IP, and it either gets the host name translated to IP address and gets you connected and gets your requested data returned, or it doesn't.
    The Internet is between sites and organizations, while an intranet is within a site or organization.
    The etymology (and it is not often I get to use that word, nor Latin) for Intra is from the Latin intra, “within”. Inter, from the Latin inter, is for "between" or "among".

    Hi,
    To solve you requirement, you'll need to download and add the .adm files to GPMC.
    Download Links for ADM Templates:
