Project wise Inventory Management

Hello
My client is in construction business. Following is the existing business process he follows :
1. Material is procured from the vendor and receive in inventory and then o demand it is released from the inventory to site of the project.  (this scenario occurs rarely)
2.Material is procured from the vendor and send directly to the site of the project.
Note :  One Project can have more than 1 site.
Please let me know how to map the above process in best manner.
thanks
Tomas

Hi Tomes......
As I mentioned, you can issue the material through Goods Issue via only one document but as you want toi maintain it more that one site create a UDF called Location/Site and you may manage goods issue onr row per site.
Let say if you want to issue material under project XYZ have three sites A, B And C
And Qty as 10 Nos/Kgs on Site A with Project XYZ, 20 Nos/Kgs on Site B with Poject XYZ and 15 Nos/Kgs on site C with Project XYZ
So OpenGoods Issue document and select itms on first line and select site in UDF as A and you can find Project column also activate it through Form Setting, there you select XYZ and give qty as 10Nos/Kgs.
Second line and select site in UDF as B and you can find Project column also there you select XYZ and give qty as 20 Nos/Kgs
Third line and select site in UDF as C and you can find Project column also there you select XYZ and give qty as 15 Nos/Kgs....
I guess this way you can manage Inventory management Proejct with different site wise under one Goods Issue document. And same is applicable for all the marketing docs......

  • Integration SMP 3.0 and Inventory Manager 3.2 / 4.0

    Hello,
I have a Little doubt. For an Implementation of Inventory Manager after I have installed/configured the SMP 3.0 or SMP 2.3, in order to actívate the Agentry for Inventory Manager, Do I have to install the Inventory manager server (Agentry Server)  which I had downloaded with Inventory Manager Package from services marketplace? or Do I have to install Agentry server which came with SMP, and after that just configure the deployment package as application within the SMP? ... I'm a Little bit confused because I think these deployment files (bundle) are on the agentry server that came with the Inventory Manager package (that is why the question was raised) and if I do not install the Inventory Manager Server I wont be able to get this bundle. Another questions is: In case the inventory manager server must be installed in order to make the agentry / SMP integration work for this standard app, If after this implementation We want to develop /configure another agentry apps, Can I do this with the agentry server installed for Inventory Manager (Inventory Manager Server) and not the "generic" one that came with the SMP?
Please Help Manju Venkatesha Michael Appleby Steve Streeter Jason Latko
    Best Regards,
    Mariana

Hi Manju Venkatesha & Stephen Streeter
Let me see if I understood what you guys answered me on this post...
1.- The agentry server is built on SMP 3.0 & SMP 2.3 and the standalone server on SMP 2.3 is only configure for development. Now, I have a another question about this...
Q.- if I need to configure the agentry's development environment besides Inventory Manager Mobile App, Does the SMP 2.3 developer server need two agentry server (The one built within SMP and the standalone for development process)? or just standalone server? or just SMP Server with Agentry generic server built within?. I understood production environment only will have one... the "generic" agentry server... as Steven said "SMP 2.3 needs to be use for QA and production", but i have this question regarding development server.
2.- Manju, We can install either IM 3.2 or IM 4.0, the thing is we are reviewing what versión is better to implement So I need to clarify my doubts for implementation process on both versions. The steps you mentioned put me in context and gives me some lights about the process, now, when you wrote: "Download Inventory Manager from service marketplace (it comes exe file)", is this the mobile server called "Inventory Manager 3.2.0 Sever" for IM 3.2 / "SAP Inventory Manager 4.0.1 Deployment" for IM 4.0?. The confusion raised here because the wizard for the mobile server that comes with mobile application implementation package, it is almost the same of Agentry standalone server, besides the SAP Backend information, it's pretty much the same wizard. In fact I think it will create a file system directory similar to standalone agentry server... So, my question about this is:
Q.- If the answer to my previous question: Does the SMP 2.3 developer server need two agentry server (The one built within SMP and the standalone for development process)? , is yes… and as you remark on your steps I need to install this mobile server (exe file), Is this mean that I need to install three agentry server on the development server (generic, standalone, mobile server)?, What happen with the file system directory for the agentry standalone dev server and inventory manager mobile server? Do they will merge in one??? And if I need to modify the inventory manager mobile app: which agentry server will be my development environment?
The SMP 3.0 which has the agentry component integrated and does not need a standalone one will need the "mobile server", does it? (exe file within SAP Inventory Manager 4.0.1 Deployment I guess or Inventory Manager 3.2.0 Server) and what about if I need to customize something on IM 4.0? The changes will be publish directly to the agentry component within SMP 3.0?
Another thing, is the Inventory manager server (mobile server) will give me the jar file from which I can get the IM agentry project for Inventory manager mobile app customization?
I know I can be confusing on my questions but please help me understand
Thank you both for the information / help you could give me ...
    Best Regards,
    Mariana

  • Inventory management configuration for Rollout project.

    Hi all,
We have created new plant using Copy function (using reference Plant).
    Kindly let me know
what are other configuration required for Inventory management in new plant?
Please provide if any check list available for Roll-out project.
    Thanks
    SAP-PQ

    Hi
    1) If your plant is excise then you have to create excise group for that plant and G/L setting for that excise group
    2) You have to extend your material in new plant
    3) check your material type update for quantity and value update for your new plant in t-code OMS2

  • Inventory Management 0IC_C03 customizations

    Dear Experts,
I have a task in hand to implement Inventory Management in SAP BW 3.5. Now, this is the first time that we will be implementing anything related to Logistics and I havenu2019t done so earlier in my support projects. I have got 10 hrs of downtime.
I need to fetch the report for both Trading as of now.
The fields needed in the report by the customer are:
    Plant
    Plant Description
    S. Loc.
    S.Loc. Description
      Opening Stock Qty,
      Opening Stock Value,
    Receipts against PO Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against STO  Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against return SO  Qty,
         Value,
    All Other Receipts  Qty,
          Value,
    RevaluationValue,
    Miro Differences,
    Issue against SO  Qty,
          Value,
    Issue against STO Qty,
            Value,
    All Other Issues Qty,
          Value,
      Closing Stock Qty,
               Value,
    Book Inv Qty,
    Physical Inv Count.
I am planning to define these as Zkey-figures and write routines in update rules based on processing keys to capture each qty and value separately.
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
    4) Should I extend the 0IC_C03 with these new custome KFs creating a new zcube or should I add only required fields in zcube.
If I follow the latter, will there be any impact on standard BF/UM runs as in If I load till PSA and from PSA I follow my customized update rules terminating into my customized cube?
    Thanks friends.

    BJ,
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
~ You will get fields from the Cube only.
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
~ Check this Table in Source system for BW Keys : TMCLVBW
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    Check this table
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
That depends upon your requirement in the report or Check the standard Dcoument for Inv management in SDN search.
you will get lot of help.
~Best Practice and even SAP Recommends Make a ZCUBE and then enhance or customize to fullfill your rek.
No impact follow IM steps for BW.
Make sure you keep these things in Mind:
There are 3 SAP delivered transactional data sources for stock management.
2LIS_03_BX : Always needed to carry the initialization of the stocks.
2LIS_03_BF :  Initialize this in source if you need historical data else an empty init can be done for this to load only future delta records. If the Source system is new then no need to do an initialization.
2LIS_03_UM : Only needed if revaluations are carried out in Source. This data source is helpful if adjustment in material prices is done time to time otherwise it wonu2019t extract any data.
    2.  Check list for source system. Needs to be carried out before initialization of the above 3 data sources .
    A.   Table TBE11 : Maintain Entry u2018NDIu2019 with text u2018New Dimension Integrationu2019 and activate the flag(Note 315880)
    B.   Table TPS01 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    INTERFACE  - SAMPLE_PROCESS_01010001
    TEXT1 u2013 NDI Exits Active
    C.   Table TPS31 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    APPLK  - NDI
    FUNCT u2013 NDI_SET_EXISTS_ACTIVE
    D.   Tcode u2013   MCB_
In most cases you need to set the industry sector as u2018standardu2019. For more info please see Note 353042
    E.    Tcode u2013  BF11
Set the indicator to active for the Business warehouse application entry. This entry may needs to be transported to the production system. (Note 315880)
    3.  After running the setup data, check the data for the fields BWVORG, BWAPPLNM, MENGE. If no data available in these fields then some setting mentioned in the above checklist are missing in R/3. Correct the issue and rerun the setup data.
    4.  Data staging with DSO for BX extractor is not allowed. Data should directly load from extractor to Cube only once. Choose the extraction mode as u2018Initial Non-cumulative for Non-cumulative valuesu2019 in the DTP.
    5.  DSO is possible for BF. If you are creating a standard DSO then choose the fields MJAHR,BWCOUNTER,MBLNR,ZEILE as key fields. Some of these fields wonu2019t be available in the standard data source but the data source can be enhanced using LO Cockpit (LBWE) to add these fields. In addition to these other fields depending upon the DSO structure is also possible.
Note  417703 gives more info on this.
    6.  Point-5 is valid for UM also. The Key fields could be a combination of MJAHR,MBLNR,ZEILE,BUKRS  fields. Note 581778
    7.  Data load to the cube should follow the below process
    A.      Load the BX data. Compress the request with stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    B.      Load the BF and UM init data. Compress the loads without the stock maker(Check the marker option).
    C.      The future delta loads from BF and UM should be compressed with Stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    8.  If in future the cube needs to be deleted due to some issues then the load process should also be carried out as above. (only init of BF and UM should be loaded first and then the deltas should be processed)
    9.  To check the data consistency of a Non cumulative cube the standard program SAP_REFPOINT_COMPLETE can be used. To check the compression status of the cube the table RSDCUBE can be refered. Before the compression of BX request, the u2018REFUPDATEu2019 field should be blank and after the compression the value should become u2018Xu2019. Check Note 643687 for more info.
    10. After BX data load to cube the data wonu2019t be visible by LISTCUBE. Only after compression the data can be seen by running a query on the Non cumulative cube.

  • Maintaining Item Stock Project wise.

    Hi All,
I am implementing SBO 2005 B for the Project base company. They get the order & each order is treated as a Project.
Now the question is material tracking is required Project wise i.e. which item is available & under which Project.
    Scenarios are:
    1. Project wise stock should be available.
    2. Transferring the Stock from one project another (i.e. if material is not required for the particular project)
    3. At the time of delivery the item should reduce the stock from the Particular Project as selected.
In all the related transaction at line level I am capturing the Project code.
Currently work around planned is to maintain the Stock warehouse wise i.e. for each Project a separate warehouse is to be created. (In this case can we make the warehouse inactive after the project is completed, so that it will not be available in any transaction)
Kindly let me know the details & solution for above.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yogesh Jadav.

    Dear Yogesh,
I would like to throw light on a couple of things you want to achieve.  Certainly Projects are a great way to handle AR and AP transactions.
Since this is also extending to inventory in your case, adding Warehouses for each project can probably work but you should also consider the long term impact on the Business One application.  Let us say you have 100 projects in a month, will you scenario require creating 100 warehouses.
If so, managing warehouses would become a daunting task.
If possible please share with my a little more in details the inventory side of business and I shall be glad to help you.
    Best wishes

    Hi there,
We want to show an inventory management report which contains WBS Hierarchy. It shall look like the following style:

  • Batch wise inventory for FG

    Requirement:
There are 2 plants AAAA-Manufacturing Plant, BBBB-Central Warehouse.
Plant BBBB is procuring FG from AAAA. Its intercompany sale between 2 company codes.
Batch (B1) of FG u2018Xu2019 with qty 100 is procured from AAAA with cost 1000.
Batch (B2) of FG u2018Xu2019 with qty 100 is procured from AAAA with cost 1200.
Client want to valuate the inventory with the Actual cost of each Batch procured.
Since price control u2018Su2019 is used for FG, the inventory will be valuated with standard price.
The difference between procurement cost and standard price will be posted to PRD.
Client is not accepting the PRD account
Hence batch wise inventory valuation needs to be done, But for that Price control u2018Vu2019 needs to used for FG.
Price control V for FG is not advisable, as it will have impact on account management, Product costing in the manufacturing plant.

Positive qty mark direction in. If you need to get only the in, then filter the negative quantity.

  • Material reconciliation should be done vendor wise or  project wise

    Hi all,
how to do material reconciliation should be done vendor wise or  project wise?? any help....MIRCMR is not working

You could use MB51/MB5B report in ALV grid and have look ups the way you wish with either Vendor or WBS/Network. However, it will not give you correct picture as Vendor is only associated with receipts (and subcontracting issues) and hence you will find lot many issues without vendor - all clubbed together.
For projects, it will only show you transactions groups per project where your inventory is assigned to project, but for rest it will again be grouped together.
Your requirement to see stock as per project is relevant if all your inventory is sub-divided into project stock only.

  • Implementing Barcoding in Inventory Management in MM

    Hello All,
We would like to implement bar coding functionality in inventory Management (MM). What are the pre-requisites for that and within how much time it can be implemented. I also would like to know is there any interface available in SAP so that barcoding functionality can be directly deployed in SAP for IM?
Your quick response is highly appreciated.
    Best regards.
    Sanjay

    Hello,
    1) We have created one Z Output type in our project.
    2) The condition record for that output type is maintained in transaction MN21
    3) Whenever a GR is created, output is automatically assigned to that material document and the bar code label gets printed.
    4) Technically a program needs to be created which needs to be asigned to your output in transaction NACE under category ME.

  • PROJECT WISE CUSTOMER OUTSTANDING

    Dear PS Experts
Our company is a project based co. We have recently implemented SAP but to our utter dismay the implementation partner has not understood the project based concept & implemented SAP.
Now for the last one year , we are managing the things in SAP thru some text fields & all.
Our main grey area is Customer outstanding . In SAP the outstanding comes thru Customer Code, but for ours We have multiple projects for one Customer , so for now we are deriving it by putting the data in some text field.
I need some permanent solution to get my Outstanding project wise without dependence on text field.
Pls help me & my organisation.

Place the cursor on All receivables Field value (last row)
    click on Line items
    click Change layout icon
From right hand side select WBS element and move it o left side and save

Alternatively Easy Access-SAP menu -Accounting -Accounts Receivable -Information System -Reports for Accounts Receivable Accounting -Customer Balances AND / Customers: Items ....here lot of reports are available...Check by selection dynamic selection icon and you have WBS element for selection.

  • Project wise Profit & Loss account.

    Dear All,
Our sales are routed through WBS Element and cost is booked against Cost Center.  Our Management wants to see project wise Profit & Loss account.  Any suggestions on deriving this??
    Regards,
    Mike.

    Hi,
You can acheive this through Profitability Analysis by assigning WBS elements as one of the Characteristics,
since there could be more than one wbs element in a particular profit center.
Point 1:- WBS element profit or loss can be interpreted only when it has booked the cost as well as revenue in the same period
Point 2:- IF any thing for which cost or revenue alone is booked then that should not be considered as loss or gain.
Point 3 Profit center wise Balance sheet is possible where as WBS element is a part of profit center.
    regards

  • Project wise Access

    Hi All,
Could some one explain the process of restricting project wise access to a user.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Naveen Dasari.

    Hi there,
there are a few authorization objects you can use to restrict the access of users to a project.
    The most important are:
S_PROJECT - defines the project on which a user is allowed to work on
S_IWB - defines the (documentation) folder a user should have access to .. for every project one folder (with the project name) is created.
The easiest way to limit access of users to only certain projects is to enter only the names of the relevant projects in those two authorization objects in the solution manager role the user is assigned to.
    hope this helps

  • Cash Inflows and Outflows- company code wise, project wise etc.

    Hi Gurus,
Client's requirement says they need cash inflows and cash outflows related to a company code, project wise etc. for a specified period.
What needs to be done for this requirement? Do we have to implement Cash Management and liquidity forecasting module to fulfill this requirement???
    Please revert asap.
    Thank You

    Hi
You need to setup the cash journal configuration where cash inflows and outflows will be recorded.
    The path is as follows:
    SPRO>Financial Accounting>Bank Accounting>Business Transactions>Cash Journal
Hope it will solve your problem.

  • Manage stock qty. in Storage bin for Inventory management

    HI all,
We are implemented Inventory Management (display stock of material for storage location).
I want to know is there any method in Inventory Managment to Manage stock of specific material in bin also.
Means User exactly should know the stock of specific material is located in Storage Bin.
Please suggest me the hole process or any customization
    Regards,
    Vraj

    Hi V raj,
I don't know whether i understood your question well. But i will answer in the way i understood.
To serve your requirement you need to have a Warehouse management, means to have a smooth warehouse bin wise storage.
But some companies are not willing to implement WM and they are finding a way with batch classification. They maintain batches for material and storage bin are maintain in a batch classification. So you can view it in MMBE also by going into the batch classification of the relevant batch.
And if you want to have a detail report you can develop a simple report or a query to retrieve batch classification data.
    For batch classification activation:
    1. Material must maintain "Batch management" tick in Purchasing and storage plant data views
    2. Create a seperate class for this using CL02
3  Create batch characteristic using CT04 (this is to maintain Storage Bin)
    4. Add classification view to each material and the relevant batch class.
    5. When you are doing the GR use "Batch" tab and "Classification" button to maintain relevant Storage bin data. (To update mass scale you can create a "Z" report getting help of a developer in your company)
    6. Now each batch you are maintained your storage bin view it trough MMBE (But only one batch classification) or in-house developed report ("Z") program
    Thanks & BR

    Hi All,
I am looking for organization structure specific to inventory management and also data flow architecture.
If there is any standard org structure is available please share with me.
    Regards
    Vijay

I am looking for organization structure specific to inventory management and also data flow architecture.
    > If there is any standard org structure is available please share with me.
    Hi Vijay,
Standard Org Structure for IM starts with Plants and ends with Storage Locations. You can create required no of storage locations under your plants, where plants are assigned to company codes. Its always better to copy from master plant 1000/0001 while creating the plants where you can make changes during creation where required (factory calendar etc).
All the material movements within the plant happen between storage locations, material-material, special stocks-unrestricted stocks with no accounting effect.
Movements between the plants can be planned wrt your needs such as STO with no financial postings unless you have plant wise PCA
You can follow the standard avaiable structure for your IM org structure.
    Regards
    Shiva
