IP Adresses of Connected SAP Systems

Hi all,
I am using a 3rd party tool to collect data of SAP systems that are connected to the solution manager.  I am able to query for the systems with its appl. servers, databses and other things. Currently I am stuck because I need the IP adress of the application server and the databases. Can anybody tell me if, and in which table I can find these information?
Best Regards

Hello Peter,
The Ip address is stored in the structure SMSY_EDIT_DFLDS_HOST. So it is not a straight forward thing to extract it.
Instead of using Solution Manager to capture the data, would it not be a good idea to use the local SLD connected to Solution Manager to capture the data ? You would have better options here.

  • Integrate or connect SAP system to non-SAP system

    Hi All,
We need to connect SAP system or integrate inspHire rental software to SAP. Do you know the process or initial summary on how to integrate this one?
As of now, the only way that we know to integrate SAP to non-SAP for posting is thru LSMW and batch input.
your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
LSMW is just tools for integration and you can use BDC Call Transaction, BDC session or BAPI, or Function to update something ins SAP.
1/Easier is if your non-SAP system is able to create file and ftp to SAP folder.
2/You will have background job running program that will every 5minutes or hour or daily(it is up to you how fast dat has to be bring to SAP) check if file was create in SAP folder.
3/Program will move file to folder in process
4/Program will process file, usinf function, or call transaction to update SAP on the base of file
5/Program will move file to process folder
If you need more info give me detail about what you would like to update in SAP and I could send you code.
    Bye Jan

  • IDoc adapter with Non SAP systems

    SAP XI 3.0 help says:
You can use the IDoc adapter to connect SAP systems (as of release 3.1) and non-SAP systems with the Integration Server using native IDoc structures
    What does this mean?
    -Naveen.

    Hi Naveen,
Let me give a use-case in one of our projects ....we have 2 middlewares in our landscape...webmethods and XI...and in one particular instance there was a need to send an FI IDoc from webmethods to XI and forward it to R/3....
In this case, the webmethods was treated like any other sap system for receiving IDoc into XI(with settings in IDX1)...
Hope this might clarify a little bit...

    Hi Dharani,
You can get information from the following links:

SAP CONNECTORS:- Basically Connectors are like middlewares , that we use to connect to the backend system including Non SAP systems also. Will try to explain it to u with some examples of SAP Connectors:-
    a) SAP Business Connectors:-
A middleware application based on the B2B integration server from webMethods.
The SAP Business Connector enables both bi-directional synchronous communication and asynchronous communication between SAP applications and SAP and non-SAP applications.
The SAP Business Connector makes all SAP functions that are available via BAPIs or IDocs accessible to business partners over the Internet as an XML-based service.
The SAP Business Connector uses the Internet as a communication platform and XML or HTML as the data format. It integrates non-SAP products by using an open, non-proprietary technology.
    b) SAP Java Connector:-
SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) is a middleware component that enables the development of SAP-compatible components and applications in Java. SAP JCo supports communication with the SAP Server in both directions: inbound calls (Java calls ABAP) and outbound calls (ABAP calls Java).
SAP JCo can be implemented with Desktop applications and with Web server applications.
SAP JCo is used as an integrated component in the following applications:
    1) SAP Business Connector, for communication with external Java applications
    2) SAP Web Application Server, for connecting the integrated J2EE server with the ABAP environment.
SAP JCo can also be implemented as a standalone component, for example to establish communication with the SAP system for individual online (web) applications.
    To Know more go through,
    SAP Java Connectors
    II) ALE Concept:-
ALE is not restricted to communication between SAP systems, it can also be used for connecting SAP Systems to non-SAP systems.
By using IDocs as universal information containers, ALE can reduce the number of different application interfaces to one single interface that can either send IDocs from an SAP system or receive IDocs in an SAP system.
SAP certified Translator Programs can convert IDoc structures into customer-defined structures.
Alternatively, the RFC interface for sending and receiving IDocs can be used in non-SAP systems.
In both cases you need the RFC Library of the RFC Software Development Kit (RFC-SDK).
This link gives a great insight into landscape for Connectivity to Non-SAP systems:-
    SAP to Non-SAP systems
III) Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC:-
When you use RFC for communication with an external (non-SAP) system, you can also implement the SAP Java Connector or the SAP .Net Connector for the conversion of data. However, there are no specific security requirements for these components, since they only perform internal system conversion functions.
The additional security recommendations for communication with external systems in this section make particular reference to cases where an external system is used as a server (SAP calls the external system). If you use an external system as a client (the external system calls SAP), the appropriate SAP-specific security mechanisms are implemented on the SAP side.
This link explains in detail all the security considerations you need to take for connecting to an External Non SAP system like, User administration, Network Security etc.
Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC

i am new on this, what should i review into the db?
    Regards and thanks in advance
    Dma.

    Hello Daniela,
you try to perform an offline backup (which is a very uncommon way nowadays) and your SAP system is not down.
This is also described in the official documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/en/0d/d309664a0c11d182b80000e829fbfe/content.htm
offline: Database backup in offline mode, in other words, the database is shut down during backup. When you select this parameter, BRBACKUP checks that no SAP system users are connected to the database. If an SAP System is active, the database is not shut down and BRBACKUP terminates the process with an error message (message number BR0068E).

  • Connect b/w SAP and Non SAP -system

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to connect between a SAP system and Non-Sap System.
the front end is an E-Build tool (for construction Industry) from where the user will pick the data and the data should get store at the backend i.e in the SAP system.
E-build is a tool for construction industry with lots of flexible options for the user to check for their house, along with their prices.
These all data needs to be captured and store at the backend.
Can any one suggest me which method shall i go for this in ABAP(and How)  or need to go for the XI-Netweaver or EP technology.
    Thanks & Regards
    Mona

you better to go for middleware tools .  keep files( whichs contains data to be stored in SAP)  in one folder at 3p systems  and  middleware adapters will pick that filles automatically and sent it to Application server or then process the data into SAP.

  • How to connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?

    Hello to all,
sorry, can someone help me? How can I connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
In previous link contain this info
This describes how to connect an SAP R/3 system to SAP NetWeaver Portal using an iView
    1)      Go to System Administration
    2)      Go to System Configuration
    3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.
    4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".
    5)      That will display a new view on right side, now select "SAP system using dedicated application server" from
the existing templates. (Other templates are possible - for example, load balanced or through a SAProuter connection string).
For this exercise, we'll use the simplest type.
    6)      Choose next
    7)      Give the System Name and System Id (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes
about the system then give them in the "Description" field.
    8)      Open the Newly Created System.
    9)      Now when you want to create a New System, you have to fill four Properties they are:
"Connector" - contains basic connectivty details
"Internet transaction Server (ITS) - if you wish to use SAPGUI for HTML and/or IACs",
"Web Application Server" - if you wish to access BSPs and/or Web Dynpro for ABAP and
    "User Management".
You also need at least one "System Alias" has to be defined from the Display drop down menu.
Make sure you have set end user access in the Permissions drop down menu to all users who need to access the system
    10)  Select "Connector" property, now fill the required fields such as:
    a)      Application Host (should be fully qualified hostname) - Give the R/3 "Application Name",
which can be obtained from the SAP Logon Pad (check what R/3 system you are using, right click on it , go to the properties,
it will open a window which has the Application Server Name.
    b)      Logical System Name - Give the logical name as defined in the backend system
    c)      SAP Client - Check the Client in the backend system and give the appropriate number (3 digits)
    d)      SAP System ID(SID)* - Check the R/3 properties and give the check for System ID
    e)      System Type* - Since we are connecting to R/3, select SAP_R3 system.
    f)       System Number - This is a two digit number that you can find in the SAP Logon Pad
    11)  Select "Internet transaction Server (ITS)" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      ITS Description à Give some Description
    b)      ITS Host Name - Same as "Application Host" of R/3 (when integrated ITS) and should be attached with the
port number of ITS Server (to get port number detailed description is given below). ex: hostname : port number
    c)      ITS Path - To get the path along with the port number you have to Log on to R/3 system. Use the
Transaction Code "SICF", it opens a new window go to:
          default_host -> sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui -> SAP GUI for HTML -> right click on
that and click "Test Service'. This will open a new window, on the address bar you will find the "port number", and
the path something like (/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui). Use the path after the port number.
    d)      ITS Protocol - There are two protocols "http" & "https", select the appropriate protocol which is
visible when you opened "Test Service" window.
    12)  Select "Web Application Server" property , now fill the required fields like
    a)      Web AS Description -> Give some Description
    b)      Web AS Host Name - same as ITS Host Name
    c)      Web AS Path - usually /sap/bc/bsp/sapd)*
Web AS Protocol - should be same as the ITS Protocol.
    13)   Select "User Management" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      Authentication Ticket Type - Since we are not using SSO leave the field
empty i.e. put in select mode. (Please note that longer term you will probably want to use SSO)
    b)      Logon Method - Select UIDPW.
    c)      User Mapping Type - In case you have administration rights then you choose "admin" or in case you
just have user rights then choose "user", better go for "admin/user".
    14)   Since all the required fields are filled appropriately now create a System Alias name, this can be done by following steps:
    a) go to Display -> Select "System Aliases" give some Alias Name, let's call it "SAP_R/3"
    15)  Now that System is created we have to create a iView which will display the given Transaction Code.
    16)  Go To "Content Administration".
    17)  Go To "Portal Content".
    18)  Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder
    19)  Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "New" -> iView
    20)  Select iView template, click next
    21)  Select "SAP Transaction iView" from the list of templates available. Click next.
    22)  Give the iView name and iView ID. Incase you want to give any brief notes about the iView then give it in "Description" field. Click next
    23)   Select "SAP GUI for HTML" radio button. Click next
    24)  Now select the system which you have create "SAP_R/3", give some Transaction Code, say SE12 (Dictionary Display). Click next and Finish.
    25)  Now Preview the iView
    26)  You will see a new Window where in SE12 Dictionary Display window is displayed.

  • Connecting to an sap system

    Hi
Just wanted to know if the JCO client service is the only way of connecting to an SAP system from enterprise portal.
    thanks
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
no, it's the "old" way, the new one goes via JCA; see JCA/J2EE Connector Architecture with WAS 6.20 (R/3 Enterprise) and JCO x JCA and Java to SAP as well as the brand-new article https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/using j2ee connector architecture with ep6 iview development.pdf

  • Connecting an existing VC model to another SAP system

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me how to connect an existing Visual composer model which resides on the VC Development system to different SAP System?
Now the VC development system is connected to the DEV erp system (rfc, bapi etc.) and I wish to connect the same model to a different system (let's say QAS) for testing purposes.
How can it be done without changing the VC model?
    Best Regards,
    Alla Shlafir

    Hi Alla,
You should create a new destination (or system if it's a BI data service) that points to the other backend system. Once you see it in VC, you can use VC's alias manager dialog that lets you replace all of the data services' systems to another. You open this dialog by going to Tools-->Manage Services in VC.

  • Connection to remote SAP system.

    Hi All,
I want help in getting connected to a remote SAP System from my desktop. I am working in SAP NetWeaver developer studio.
    Regards,
    James

    Hi James,
Although the info. provided by you does not provide much information about the setup of your SAP System, but you can try this out:
Inorder to get connected to the SAP system via your SAP NWDS(SAP NetWeaver developer studio).
    1) Please check if you are able to get connected to the remote server, incase the server is on a different machine. You can do it by following the steps below:
Click on Windows Start menu -> click on Run -> Typein "cmd" and click on Ok button -> Typein "Ping 'IP address of the remote server'", I mean your remote server machine's IP address(Ex:10.6.52.189 or whatever it is). If it responds then please carry out the following steps in NWDS.
    2) Please GoTo :
NWDS menu - > Window -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine(Choose this on the left menu).
Now, if your server is not installed on the same machine on which you are working then go for the first radio button which says "SAP J2EE engine is installed on remote host" and enter the server's IP(Internet Protocol) address(Ex: 10.6.52.14, etc)in "Message Server Host" and enter 3601 in "Message Server Port".
    Click on apply and Ok.
    3) Now again Click on Windows Start menu -> click on Run -> Typein "drivers" and click on Ok button -> Open the folder "etc" -> look for file "Hosts", openwith notepad
-> Now typein the IP address and the corresponding host name(of the remote server)please note that the IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one space, preferably a tab space. -> save the hosts file.
Now you should be able to connect to your remote server.
    Regards,
    Sudeep

  • What is best way to connect a non-sap sys sending  xml idocs to SAP system

Hi Can some one please guide as to what will be the best approach in connecting a NON SAP system to a SAP system.
The non sap system should not be connected to access real time data,it does not support RFC,it can send data in IDOC xml format and i think in teaxt files also. Also I dont think there is any EDI subsystem in place.
There has to be a periodic upload of material data from SAP /stock status/
then there will be incoming data into SAP for sales order/purchase order etc
What would be the best way to connect the two systems,IDOCs with partial EDI looks the best way ,but I am confused as to how will the XML IDOC be converted to normal IDOC and viceversa, how to handle the event triggering mechanism.
If someone has experience in such a scenario ,please help.
There is a option to update the database of the application through SQL also...

    Hi,
