Ipad mini headset has never worked.

I have a brand new ipad mini less than 2 months old... Plugged in my headset and wont work and has never worked. The ipad mini has been in an otterbox since day 1 and yet customer service is giving a run around instead of investigating the issue. How can you look at the ipad mini and say I see a scratch on the outside so it has physical damage?

I had the same experienced before and had mine changed for a new Set.
Hope this is possible on your end and of cos has be still under Warranty - 1 year if no extended Apple Care ...

If you mean AppleCare, then I would believe the answer will be yes.
First make sure you have a full backup of everything on your Mac, then run, don't walk to your nearest Apple store.
Note: Due to your Mac now being in computer years, somewhat elderly, Apple may not have the require parts in stock. This will either mean you might have to leave it with them for a number of days, or maybe they will offer you a new Mac mini. My Apple TV does not work and has never worked. I replaced it twice and replaced my router and DSL modem but no luck. I spent hours on tech support with both apple and my ISPs with no luck. Any ideas? Is the Apple TV a donation to apple? I have had the device for 8 months but it will not work for longer than 15 minutes before it drops with network errors. All of my other devices work perfectly on the network including 2 iPads, laptops and an old wii. I love apple products and this is the first real disappointment I have had. The Apple TV seems like a major dud of a product.

Seems unlikely you have had two faulty replacements, and more likely that there may be some network compatibility issue or problem with reception in the location the AppleTV lies - anything close to it that might be interfering?
I am assuming you are connected via wifi - if you can try an ethernet connection to rule wifi issues out.
Could you try it at somone else's house maybe? If it worked there it would point to something specific at your location.
You could try replacing it again I guess or seeing if they can offer you credit or a refund.

I did the reset, the pc scrren said it would take about a half hour reseting which is ok. But midway through the process it apparently disconnected itself from the Ipad and the ipad icon disappeared from the itunes screen. Will try process again see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion.

Auto-Brightness on iPad mini Retina is not working properly.

Hello! Noticed that the Auto-Brightness on iPad mini Retina is not working properly.
It works correctly only when such a dark place, then unlock the iPad brightness will be at a minimum. Likewise, if unlock iPad in a room with light, the brightness will adjust to the surrounding space.
If I turn light into a dark room, the brightness slider does not move, and stands on the site. Checked on the iPhone 5S, there problems are not present. Auto Brightness is working correctly.

iOS 8 isn't even out yet. If you are running iOS 8, I assume you are a developer and if you are, you are in the wrong forum to try to get help. If you are not a developer and you're running iOS 8, maybe that's why you are having problems on the iPad.

I did take it to an Apple Store, but the inncorrectly insisted that my speaker was bust and it would cost £250 to replace the whole iPad!
And you know they are incorrect because you get sound here and there from time to time? That fact doesn't prove that something isn't working correctly inside. You could very well have a bad connection inside the device causing this, but somehow you seem to know that's not the case.

IPhone 5 won't start or charge or turn on and was not dropped recently and the power button has never worked

My iPhone 5 was not dropped recently however I went to use it and the screen was black, I plugged it in and nothing happened. When you call it it goes right to voicemail. The power button on it has never worked it always turns on when plugged in... Any ideas?

Are you certain that the battery has not run out? Have you kept it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes to see if it is just needing to be charged?
If it does not come on after being plugged in for 30 minutes or so, then without a functional Power button you cannot reset it, so you are going to have to try to put it into Recovery mode and restore it:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
You may not even be able to do this since you cannot proactively turn it off, but you can try.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Rebooting with the sleep and home buttons...holding them down at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen? If that didn't do any good and Spotlight isn't working, you can try resetting all settings and if that doesn't work, then you should probably restore your iPad next.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Network Extender has never worked

We received a network extender from Verizon due to the lack of coverage in the area we live - too far from a tower.
I have tried every weekend to get this thing going and I always get a solid blue power light, solid blue wan light a SLOW BLINKING RED SYSTEM LIGHT and a solid magenta GPS light.
I tried calling Verizon for support but the tech rep didn't know what to do and was trying to read through the manual, I think and the call dropped after about an hour (back to the lack of coverage issue). I was so tired of not getting anywhere that I just let it go for the evening.
Bottom line is - this thing has never worked. All I can find is that a slow red blinking light is there is an abnormal condition.
Is there any further troubleshooting I can do or do I just need to see if Verizon can send me another one?

Update - now I have a solid red GPS light & the slow blinking red SYS light. Will let it sit for an hour (as the sticker on the side suggests) and see if there's any difference

It might be time to contact Apple for an out of warranty repair (actually replacement)

for ipad,
if you go to settings-General
You can select between using the side switch to lock rotation or mute. If you select one mute, then the lock rotation icon will show up in the control center. If you select lock rotation, then the mute will show up. THe side switch is then used for the other option.
