Iphone 6 Order Confusion

I'm not sure what's going on with Verizon's ordering system. I ordered two Iphone 6 Plus on 9/19. When I returned from the weekend, I decided to call and check status, and I was told that there was only one phone on my order. They had to cancel that order, and place a new order for two phones.
It now shows a ship date of 10/31. When I enter my preorder confirmation number on the check status page, all it says is that my order has been received. When I enter the order number, no order is found. When I check order status on the verizon page, it says I have not placed any orders.
What gives? Why all the confusion? Can I expect 2 phones to be shipped on the 31st?

Sorry about all the confusion, iraden. The preorder confirmation number will continue to be updated on http://bit.ly/RjmCUB until it gets closer to the expected ship date. Once a payment has been processed (up to 30 days before shipping) then it will become an order that appears in My Verizon as well as being searchable by order number. Tracking information will usually be updated about 2 days before the phone is received. I'm confident that you'll be enjoying your new phones very soon and they'll still be shipped out by the 31st as you mentioned.

  • IPhone Order Status page down for almost  24 hours?

I last checked the status of my iPhone order last night online at around 7:00 pm and it listed the status as "shipped" but no tracking number. The status page has been down ever since. Customer Service at Verizon also said the phones have shipped but can't provide more details.
Is anyone else having trouble getting tracking information?

There is a trick for getting a FedEx reference number you can try.  It is detailed in the boards, but here is the gist.
Type your location code (without any dashes).
    Then type an _.
Then add your order number, but make sure it is 9 digits long by adding zeros to the front.
So, for example if your location code was "08620-01" and your order number was "87456", your FedEx reference number would be 0862001_000087456.
You can go to the FedEx website, select track by reference number, fill in the number you figured out above, put in your country and zip code, and see if they find your order.  Obviously this won't work if you are being shipped via UPS.
It worked for me though.  I wasn't able to find my order status or anything, but I popped those numbers into FedEx's website and my shipping information popped right up.

  • Cannot cancel delayed iPhone order

On the scheduled arrival date if my order, I was informed by email that the iPhone I had ordered overnight shipped would not arrive for another 10-21 days. The email stated that "If that's okay with you, and you accept the delay and new delivery date, you don't have to do anything prior to shipping. Once your order has shipped, we'll send you the tracking information"
Of course it did not tell me that if this delay was not okay with me, or that I do not accept the delay that there was absolutely nothing I could do. I have spent over an hour on hold waiting for customer service representatives to inform me that my best course of action is to allow Best Buy to hold onto my $800, wait three weeks for my phone to arrive, and just deal with it.
I placed a purchase on your website based on the promise of overnight delivery of in stock inventory. Since you are unable to fulfill the promise that you made via your website, I expected a means to be able to cancel my order. Holding my funds without delivering the product is theft.
Please let me know if there is any possibility that I can actually get my money back, or if you will simply keep it without fulfilling your end of the transaction.

    Hello Gonesailin,
As someone who is considering purchasing a new cell phone, I can imagine your excitement to purchase a new iPhone! It would truly disappointing to place the order, only to find that your order would not arrive for a few weeks.
Using the information you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your iPhone order. Presently, it appears that your iPhone was delivered today, two days after you placed the order. As you chose express shipping, this would be within the 2 business days that we estimate for arrival.
I apologize if you received any notifications that your iPhone would be taking longer to arrive. If you should have any questions or other concerns, please let me know!
    Enjoy your iPhone!

  • Iphone order changed

Hey just confused...I pre-ordered the iphone 5 on the 14th and it is suppossed to come on the 28th..But when i went to check my order status on 9/24 it said it would be here by 9/28...Then i checked again on 9/26 and the shipdate changed to a later day in october..I called Apple and Verizon and they were both unable to give me and answer i was woundering if anybody knew why..

    Hi Konsultix!
Yeah, the customizable phone labels have been a real blessing up until recently.  If they ever figure this out, you should give it a try.  As for the lack of responsiveness which robodr mentioned, I'm not surprised.  We've pretty much been an all-Apple campus at my work with computers, portable devices, & even iPhones due to Apple's history with the philosophy of user-friendly simplicity.  Unfortunately, that philosophy seems to be changing towards lazy unforeseen complexity. The Mavericks switch (though free), the iWork updates, the rough iMovie launch, glitches with copier drivers resetting, the ios7 glitches, even this inexcusable lag in customer service here, all of it has my board and me rethinking our company-wide devotion to Apple including our iPhones.  If we're constantly troubleshooting, then Apple's nullified their advantage in the business sector and we might as well go for the cheaper Windows product since we're still constantly wasting our time & $$ on IT.  IT savings was the whole reason we convinced the board to switch in the first place.  Without it, Apple might as well kiss our money goodbye.  When Steve Jobs was alive, every detail was so well-thought out and customer service was at the top of its game.  Now, it's been a month since I posted a problem on Apple's website and no reply.  I'm glad to have this poor experience because, honestly, the timing couldn't be better.  My organization's AT&T phone contracts are expiring and we might begin switching more than our provider on this campus.

  • IPhone 5 confusing Wi-Fi data with Cellular?

I bought my iPhone 5 just a few hours ago. When it was set-up, naturally it used 4G to access the Internet. Once I got home, I connected to my home Wi-Fi.
It is my understanding that the iPhone will always prefer Wi-Fi to 3G or 4G. Plus, the entire night while I used it, I never saw anything other than the WiFi symbol in the corner.
I got a text message from Verizon saying that I had used 75% of my allowed data. (2GB on the plan, but it is prorated) I checked MyVerizon, and it said I had used 427 MB of Cellular Data!! I clicked a link to open a detailed chart, which informed me of only four instances of Cellular data, which totaled up at 1.8 MB. This is a number that makes sense.
So I turned off Cell Data entirely, but left the Wi-Fi on, and continued to download videos from YouTube. Moments later, I got another text from Verizon saying I had used all my prorated data! I checked and Cellular Data was still off! The note even said "With this turned off, all data will be restricted to Wi-Fi"! So I clearly didn't use Cell data, but Verizon thought that I did! Now I'm over my limit and possibly in huge trouble.
The figures given seem consistent with my overall usage, though 99% of this usage was on Wi-Fi. I would stake my life on that fact. No joke. Is it possible that my Wi-Fi data is somehow being confused with Cell Data, even though it's turned off?
In the morning, I'm going to visit the store that I bought it from. However, any info that you guys can give me would really help.
    Thanks.

I am having the same issue. I am going to call Verizon this morning. We purchased two new phones and only used them on LTE for about an hour while we went to dinner. All the other time we were in our house with WiFi indicated on the phone. I checked by usage after finding this post, 318 MB used on the new Verizon shared data plan. Each phone used over 150 MB. The only thing we were doing was surfing the internet and sending iMessages while we were at dinner. I looked back at the items that I was doing in the house and I remember after activating the phones and doing a backup that each phone had about 40 apps that needed updated. I believe that 150 MB per phone was due to this period of time.
This is a great example of Apple and Verizon not informing the consumer of a money making feature on the new phone. Verizon promoted the shared data plan to me in the fact that by using WiFi when available would mitigate any overage on data. Apple doesn't inform the consumer that there is a cellular over WiFi feature as there was on the Beta version. I sure hope this gets fixed because I have only once in the last two years ever used 150 MB of data in a single day. We normally only use 1.5 GB in a billing cycle. UGH!!

  • Iphone 5 confused battery or not

At one time I was convinced that my iPhone 5 had a defective battery, but some events have definitely confused me so I am here to ask the experts what they think.
I was going to send my phone in for service (battery service) the day I go in for surgery since I won't need a phone for a few days.  Something very strange has happened to my phone, though.  It got almost worthless for 3 days.  My phone was getting about 2 hours of usage time to get down to 40% battery.  At this point my phone would shut down, and wouldn't turn on until I charged it.  It would show the charging symbol when I tried to turn it on.  After 3 days of this annoying behavior, something changed.  My next charge lasted 5.5 hours of actual usage which I consider pretty decent for a 1.5 year old phone.  It has lasted for at least 5 hours of actual usage ever since.  I know that batteries can't rejuvinate themselves so I am wondering what is going on.  Does anyone have any ideas.
It might sound looney, but I was almost wondering if the government was hacking my phone and causing my phone to loose battery.  Maybe they finally got bored and now my battery is fine.  I think I am kidding about this, but I can't understand the events that have happened with my phone.

More likely it was some app calling home in the background or you being in an area of poor cell coverage that was causing battery loss. If it seems to have corrected itself - I would just wait and watch
    OR
Chat with Apple support - they can run a remote diagnostic and see what is up with your battery

  • Has anyone else not got an email confirmation of their iPhone order

I preordered the iPhone 5 last night although I haven't received an email confirmation of my order. I talked to an online associate who said my order had gone through. Also, I checked the order status of it and it says that it is being processed and expected to ship next Friday. I'm just waiting for my email receipt but I haven't received one. Anyone else having this problem?

After you purchased your phone it should have said to wait 24 hours since there are many people ordering online

  • IPhone Provisioning confusion?

    Hi
I've recently paid to get the iPhone developer certificate and I'm a bit confused about the many jargon terms, all of which seem related to giving me permission to build iPhone apps.
Can anybody explain in plain English the difference between the
    •Profile
•AppID ... which seems to be both a text string I chose, and a 10 digit code which I didn't
    •Certificate Name
•Profile Identifier (a long code string)
I have read about this many times on iphone provisioning portal, but I just can't understand which is which.
AppID: presumably this is an ID for a specific app? Does this mean I have to get a new one every time I write a new app? What about if I'm just writing test apps for my own use that I'm not putting on the store?
It says in the organizer that my profile expires in 3 months time. I paid for a year, so should I be worried about this?
Fianally, when I make an xcode project, I get this set as a Bundle Identifier:
com.yourcompany.${PRODUCT_NAME:*****identifier} (I put the asterix there because I don't even know if those digits are 'mine'!) Does this seem correct?
Thanks for any light anyone can shed on any of these topics.
    Steve

I believe that when you see a date of 04/01/1978 it is what they call a "AS IS" and was sold in a large lot to a vendor. I got one from a seller in NY and when I called in for support that is what I was told. Apple will not support this phone. They said that I would need to get support from the seller. last time I ever buy a phone on ebay lesson learned.

  • IPhone Order - Apple Store Retail Authorized User?

So I'm a retail authorized user on our AT&T account and I ordered an iPhone 4 for pickup at a local Apple Store.
    Here's the problem.
We are in the process of moving and when the iPhone comes out the primary account holder will be living in a different state. I called my local Apple Store and they said that I could be a retail authorized user, AT&T said the same thing. Then I checked only and it says that the Primary owner has to be at Apple Stores to buy an iPhone. Called AT&T back, and they confirmed this.
So... can I still get it at my Apple Sore?
Tomorrow I'm going to stop by an AT&T store and call up the Apple Store again. I'll be ****** if I can't get it after all the time it took to pre-order :P.

I'm in the same boat. The first year I purchased the iPhone 3G I was able to upgrade without my dad (the primary account holder) being present. Last year when I attempted to purchase the iPhone 3GS they told me I could not because I was not the primary account holder and they could not look up authorized users. My dad will be out of town next week and after the he** of yesterday, I'd be mad if I couldn't get my phone until mid-July.
Where did you read that the Primary owner has to be at the Apple Store to buy an iPhone? It'd be interesting to see it in print. I thought I might overwhelm with evidence that I am an authorized user and they should allow me to upgrade.
First, I know all the information required from my dad, for example: SSN, D/L #, birthdate, etc.
Second, they can contact AT&T or my dad (through the listed number on the AT&T account) to confirm that I am an authorized user.
Third, I will print out from the AT&T website that I am an authorized user.
Finally, they can check that I live at the same address as the billing address on the AT&T bill.
Seriously, where is the tipping point? I called my local AppleStore and they said they did not know if being an authorized user would be enough or not, so I'm hoping for some forth coming details one way or another.

  • Sortlist - round robin - netmask ordering confusion

I went through a crisis not long after splitting my Win2003 AD network into two VLANs, crisis documented at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2361165
In a nutshell, Windows DNS uses netmask ordering to resolve the "best" IP address to client queries based on their IP address. If a given host (on LAN) has more than one IP address on different VLAN/subnets, a query to a DNS server should give both IP answers, though only the one on the same subnet as the client is often accessible to that client. Thus, netmask ordering adds some intelligence to that process, overriding round-robin, and it works pretty well.
Enter OS X Server using BIND, and set up a secondary zone to a Windows primary, and that all goes out the window. It seems OS X Server uses Round Robin by default. Though BIND is supposed to have similar functionality to Windows server's netmask ordering in a function called "sortlist," I can't figure out how to use that in OS X Server.
    Anyone ever mess with that?

    Camelot wrote:
I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're asking. There is no concept in DNS of subnets - a host record maps to a network address (and vice versa), and subnets don't come into play.
Unless what you're referring to is the ability of the name server to offer different replies based on the client's IP address…?
If so, that is possible in BIND, via views, but there is no GUI support for multiple views in Server Admin (all zones exist in a single view served to all clients).
If you want to offer different results to clients based on their address you'll need to implement a secondary view containing the zone data that should be visible to those clients. You'll also lose the ability to manage your DNS via the GUI. It's not that hard to do, but it does mean you'll typically be working in the shell to maintain your zone files.
My nutshell approach was not clear, but you got the gist. But there is a concept of subnets implemented in Window server. I split our school network into two VLANs for security (keep students from even seeing admin servers) but needed to keep domain in Active Directory and our Windows servers. Thus, the domain controllers are multi-homed. School admin subnet is 172.16/16, student subnet is 172.20/16. Without netmask ordering or round robin enabled, Mac clients requesting internal DNS resolution would always get the 172.16.x.x address of the domain controllers, so they could not authenticate to the domain (the AD plugin apparently can only use the first IP returned in a query, it won't try others if unsuccessful). Netmask ordering enabled the DNS server to look at the IP of the DNS client and reply to queries with the IP which is in the client subnet first, then additional IPs, if any. The next bump I hit was that netmask ordering assumes a Class C subnet, not very well-documented, but a simple command fixed that, and it's worked excellent ever since-- until I tried designating a Mac server as a secondary and set some Mac clients to point to the Mac server for DNS resolution. They then get round-robin replies, so the ADplugin, which must make several DNS queries, gets confused. Research led me to sortlist, but whether it's that or "views" as you suggest, it's probably not something I want to jump into. I am going to give up on my Magic Triangle dreams and convert student and teachers to Open Directory over the summer, just create a new domain.
P.S. technically, MS discourages having DCs multi-homed, but not having anything layer 3 to route between my new VLANs, it was my only option. In addition, the administrative file server I needed to keep away from student hacking is also the main Domain Controller (PDC emulator master), so adding routes to make the DC work across subnets would have defeated the security purpose. It's a smaller private school, limited resources. Thx.

  • IPhone Purchase Confusion

I bought an Iphone 5 from a seller in Hong Kong on eBay (which I now regret) who had claimed that the iphone was factory unlocked. It wasn't, because I tried activating it at my local Sprint & AT&T Store and failed. I am SIM locked out of my phone because no SIM card I have tried works. I did a test using my phone's serial number and found that the carrier was Sprint (??). It said this:
    Serial Number: F17JC9DXF8GH
    Part Description: AS-IS, IPHONE 5, BLACK, 16GB-USA
    IMEI Number: 990002243113022
Initial Activation Policy: US Verizon LTE MM N51/N48/N42 Service Policy ???

    Applied Activation Policy ID: 2083
Applied Activation Details: US Sprint N42 Unlocked Activation Policy

    MAC Address: 98fe94157d6c
    Bluetooth MAC Address: 98:fe:94:15:7d:6d
    SIM Lock: Unlocked
I don't know what to do to even access my phone since Sprint doesn't sell SIM Cards for me to unlock. If I go to an Apple store will they be able to reset my iPhone or atleast tell me what my carrier is? Because according to the test it said Verizon was the initial carrier..and it apparently was also registered somehow in 1978.

  • Iphone identity confusion

My wife and I both have iPhones. My wife is not at all technical, so I set her phone up and logged it into my iTunes account. Everything has been working all right for quite a while. However, now I have discovered that when I look in the Contacts on my iPhone, it says next to my wife's name "me". When our daughter wants to reply to an SMS from my wife, I receive the SMS. When our daughter calls my wife on Facetime, it rings on my iPhone.
I do not see in my iPhone settings anything that would explain this. I also cannot see in the Contacts why my wife is identified as me.
Thanks for any help in this.

That happens because both of you are using the same Apple ID.  Your wife needs her own Apple ID to use for iCloud syncing, iMessage and FaceTime.
She can continue to use (if this is what you want), your Apple ID for iTunes and the AppStore, so that both of you can continue to enjoy the same music and apps, specially those that you have to pay for.
