i had a problem updating ios to 7.1.2. i update my iphone4s ios 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 and my iphone CAN'T READ MY SIM, MODEM FIRMWAY GONE, IMEI GONE, and CAN'T HEAR SOUNDS ON MY SPEAKER but using earphone works, BATTERY DRAIN MUCH FASTER THAN BEFORE. i had update my ios many times before but this is the first time i encounter a problem like this. Any suggestion or advise guys to Fix my iphone.thanks a lot. APPLE PLEASE FIX. TAKE ACTION.

am also facing same.battery dry up rapidly. and am face my phone doesn't get shutdown.
if i go for shutdown my phone gets on automatically.
on this IOS 7.1.2.

IOS 4.2.1 update problems on iPhone 3G

I have noticed a few problems with the update. My iPhone is now back to being slow and choppy. My battery drains a lot faster. And when I go to the app store, it will only show some of the pictures of the apps, I have to close it and open it again to make it start showing pictures again. Also, my signal strength on both the cell service and WIFI fluctuate more that it did prior to the update. I have never seen my WIFI signal drop inside my house until I updated to this version of the iOS.
Also, about the slow and choppy problem....prior to iOS 4.2.1, a Genius Bar employee told me to re-setup the phone as new and then sync all my info. back on the phone. It was a pain to deal with reseting all of my setting, however it did help the speed of the phone on iOS 4.1 and I was enjoying my iPhone again, however as soon as I updated to iOS 4.2.1, it was back to being slow and choppy as I noted above.

Bought an iPhone 3GS, so this is no longer an issue.

IOS 8.1 iPhone update problem

I've just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 8.1 and have lost over 15 GB of storage to "Other". I've done resets, powered down, etc etc but can't seem to clear the "Other" from the storage thus severely limiting the music, books, etc. that the phone should be able to hold. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

IOS 5.0.1 Update Problems

IOS 5.1 Update Text Message Tone Problems.
I have a 3 G S Iphone and updated to ISO 5.1 which since then have had problems with phone text message alerts being distorted.
My daughter has a iphone 4 which hers did the same but far worse. It was taken back to Apple Store where they say they havent heard anything about this problem.
They replaced my daughters phone for a brand new one and this one is doing the same also.
Anyone else experiencing this problem????

Lizzie7, I've had SO many problems with my iPhone 3Gs since I upgraded and of course Apple says they don't see anything wrong. My issue is I either upgrade to the iPhone 4s or go to another phone all together. I just don't want to keep dealing with this every year when they decide to upgrade their software. I think it's wrong that they do this and I believe they are aware it's a problem. I have a friend who works for Apple and he said they do put code in there that slows the older phones down and cause problems so you will upgrade. If this is in fact true, I'm very disappointed in Apple.

Ios 7.1.2 update problems

After the latest 7.1.2 update my iphone 5S does not play my ringtones (despite them being checked in contact info), does not address battery problems, and has duplicated my 500 contacts which I have set to display last, first names. Now I have that plus first, last names. I have checked my address book on my MacBook Pro and it is correct. I have synced at least six times to no avail. AND, it has installed ALL of my iTunes songs despite having indicated to only sync selected/checked songs. These bugs have doubled my GBs usage. Also, the new software update for the MacBook has created some issues in the first half-hour: iTunes unexpectedly quit (for no apparent reason), mail is not downloading. I have restarted both the phone and the macbook - however; no resolution.

Trying to Restore Iphone, IOS 6.1.3 update Problems

I am trying to restore my ihpone. The latest software is updated to IOS 6.1.3, I tell itunes to restore my iphone. The restore function then tries to download the latest IOS 6.1.3, eventhough it has already been installed. Then while downloading IOS 6.1.3, although I don't need it, an error pops up and says it timed out.
How to I restore my iphone 4s?

There is nothing that you can do now except to restore the device. The iPad will not work until you restore the iOS. Don't your students backup? I would assume that iPads being used in the classroom would be backed up on a regular basis. If they do backup, you can restore the iOS, then restore from the student backup and either sync his content back to the iPad if you are using iTunes, or download it again in the various purchased tabs of the iStores on the iPad.

You may be able to exit recovery mode by restarting your iPad.
If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.
If your iPad restarts back into recovery mode, the next step would be to restore the device, as detailed in the article linked below.

Ios 7.0.3 update problems with safari

I tried to update my iPhone 5s to 7.0.3. Install failed over the WiFI and I ended up doing a reinstall on my computer. After the install Safari stoped working. App goes blank and cannot open in settings. Everything else works fine. Anyone else having this problem?

Update:
Took the iPad to the Apple store; they were baffled as I suspected, but did fresh install which took about 15 mins.
I was very happy to see; that although the store was packed; help was given within mins of arriveing to the store.
Apple even reccomended if the software install does not resolve the issue they will replace the iPad due to possible hardware issues.
Overall very pleased; I will submit there seemed to be an inordanate amount of people bringing in the iPhone 5s with many different issues; one seems to be battery life.

Could anyone be of any help? This morning ive just recently update both my ipad3 & iphone5c to he new Ios update, the ipad worked straight away but the iphone seems to be stuck on the apple start screen, tried to reboot it off itunes, could anyone help please?

4s iOS 7.1.1 update problems

I tried to download the 7.1.1 update and now my screen is locked. it is black with a picture of the wall charger with an arrow above it pointing to the Itunes logo. I am currently waiting for itunes to finish downloading on my HP laptop, hoping getting on itunes on my laptop will point me in the right direction to fixing this. How can I fix my phone so the screen isn't locked and I can use my phone again?

It more than likely wasn't Apple's doing.
Assuming you updated over wifi to start with, it more than likely disconnected which is what caused your device to go into recovery mode.
So the issue was probably the router/wireless network you were on while you were updating.

IOS 5.1.1 update problems

I downloaded iOS 5.1.1 a couple days ago. Yesterday everything crashed, I restored it and now I still can not access anything. Everytime I turn it on, all I can see is the connect to iTunes page. I need my phone for work, is there a quick and easy solution?

Ios 4.3.1 update problems.

I upgrade my iphone 4 to os 4.3.1 this morning and discovered the following issues:
1. A message along the following theme appears after the upgrade - "This device is not supported on the iphone". There is nothing attached to the phone and yet this message appears. I had to manually shut down and restart the phone twice before the message stops coming up.
2. Text Message ring tones were disabled after the upgrade. Despite checking to make sure the volume was up, mute button not turned on, all attempts to get generate a text messge tune or change text message tunes failed. I'm currently trying to restore my iphone. Hope that works.
Anyone who faced such issues as well?

That has nothing to do with the update. It is just a simple coincidence.
I had this message coming up on my iPhone before and discovered it was actually because dust and lint accumulated in the 30-pin sync cable connector. Some conductive lint can touch those contacts and the iPhone gets confused thinking that is has a incompatible docking device plugged into it.
That’s also why you can’t hear some sounds like sms tone or the click sound when locking/unlocking iPhone.

If it is grey and/or won't allow you to slide it to the on position, follow these steps... More than likely you will need to get it serviced.
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.

What "auto shutdown problem" are you talking about?

Email Account Problems after iOS 5.0.1 update on iPad 2 & iPhone 4

After finishing the iOS 5.0.1 update - I have noticed none of my email accounts are working (i.e. Error saying Incorrent Password or Username).
I have deleted the associated accounts and added them once again, verifying both username and passwords as well and now it will NOT verify any accounts on both. Still no luck on both devices.
Odd that both devices email accounts stop working after the new update?
Anyone know of a fix/problem?

Same problem, this happens with any Safari site that requires a user name and password to log in ... frustrating! I have also posted this issue and will be stopping by Apple on my way home ... I'll let you know what I find out.
