IPod 4 Software Update stuck. Please help!

Hi everyone! I feel really stupid for not knowing this before I tried to install a software update on my iPod 4, but I guess you need to set it back to it's factory settings in oreder to do that? Now it's stuck on a screen that shows the white cord pointing to the iTunes symbol. Anyone know how to get it back to normal? I really don't want to have to restart it, because I have forgoten some of my passwords, and stuff like that. If anyone knows how to get it baxck to normal, or if there is even anyway to do that, I would really appreciate you telling me Thanks everybody!

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iOS device is already erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I turned on my computer today and first thing I was asked when I logged in was if I wanted to update my software because there is new updates available. So I click on update so my computer will stay up to date......Well big mistake Now I cant open my itunes, my safari, my quicktime player, or even my Microsoft word, everything is messed up I keep getting "program quit unexpectedly" from everything. Could someone please help me? I attempted to update my software when prompted, including Leopard and Itunes, but during the restart process my computer froze.
I restarted it and tried to update my software again, but now I get an error message that says "The digital signature for this package is incorrect" and will not let me update. Now, Itunes refuses to open and I have no idea how to correctly update my computer or fix the Itunes problem.
I also attempted to send an error message to Apple and that option is no longer working on my computer either. I'm horrible with computers, but I would really appreciate any advice anyone could provide me! Thank you so much!

My ipod classic only syncs upto track 46. I've tried deleting that track but it's a different track every time and it always stops at 46. My ipod stops saying syncing and just says connected at that point - but my computer still says it's syncing the ipod. Anyone have any ideas?

Only Apple knows when the next release of anything is and they haven't said. Speculating on future release dates would be a violation of the terms of use of these forums.
If you search the forums, you should find instructions on how to go back to the previous version. That might at least get you through. I'm sorry but I don't have any links to the posts.

Since the latest update, my Droid2 will not pair to my Ford SYNC. The phone will not find SYNC for me to place in the PIN. It use to work wonderful before the latest update.
I can not drive and talk on my phone without SYNC. Corporate Car- Corporate Policy.

Thank you for sharing your concern as I am more than happy to assist you! Are you able to successfully pair your Droid 2 with another bluetooth device, like an earpiece or a computer? This will help us determine if there is an issue with the bluetooth technology after the software update or is it a compatibility issue. Also, what year and model vehicle do you have? In order to successfully pair with the vehicle, the Droid 2 must be in discovery mode. Below is a link to walk thru placing the Droid 2 into discovery mode.

Once the phone is in discovery mode, the next step would be to attempt to pair with SYNC again. Here is a video link with the steps on how to pair a phone with SYNC.

Problems with downloading the ipod software...please help!

I am trying to reinstall my ipod software through the CD that was sent to me however, whenever I'm trying to do so, a window pops up saying the following: 1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime. Now I have no idea what that means and I havent dont anything different to my computer since the last time I had the software on my computer. Can someone help a girl out?? Thanks!

Does your computer really have Windows ME on it Vivian? If so, be aware that the iPod/iTunes is not supported under ME. It can be done, but it requires some effort. See this:

The IP of your Software Update Server looks strange, not sure if it's correct or not. But it looks like a hamachi IP (VPN).

I have had almost no problems with iTunes 7 except for one thing. It is unable to update the software for my 5G 30GB iPod. I have been able to update my songs by clicking "Don't Install" when it asks me to install the new software, however, I guess I need the update to sync my TV shows to my iPod.
The problem is, everytime I choose to update the software, it will look like it's doing something, but then a box comes up that says "The iPod “Lola” could not be updated. An unknown error occurred [1417]." And then my iPod disappears from the side...iTunes no longer recognizes it until I unplug it and put it back in.
I find it hard to believe this problem is because of my computer because my computer is brand new and I have not had any problems with my iPod thus far.
If anyone knows how I can fix this, please please let me know!

Yep, it froze again. Apple owes me for the value of most of my iBook purchases made by individuals that iCloud doesn't backup, plus the photos I am losing because I had a problem synching with the backup, my connection got broke, and now it wants to synch with not yesterdays backup, only the ones it had partially loaded before the broken connection. How can I start over? I am ticked that Apple can't warn a person to move photos, etc. off the iPad before they show you the button to update. They have known of this problem with iPad 2 not having enough room but instead of fixing it or warning people it does nothing. I will never buy another iPad again.

If you have an iCloud backup then set your iPad back to as-new condition with Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You can then go through the new iPad Setup procedure and, when when you reach the stage where Setup asks if you wish to restore, you can select to restore from your latest iCloud backup.
Note that an iCloud backup should contain the photos that were in your Camera Roll.

I have a 2011 iMac 27" i7 and the bluetooth connected trackpad, keyboard, and mouse all go haywire after awhile. This just began today and cannot make the issue go away. Nothing was downloaded, no software updates, etc. please help!

Oops, sorry, using my iPad for this. My iMac's Bluetooth-connected devices are going haywire after awhile of use. All three things--the trackpad, keyboard, and mouse--act up, especially the trackpad, by being overly sensitive and often just clicking and moving on its own. I've restarted the computer, I've swabbed batteries out of the devices, and nothing has worked so far in solving this issue. I downloaded Lion when it came out and had the update last week (I think), but today is the first day to experience this issue and nothing was downloaded today. I've been sending out a flurry of emails, but nothing else to hint at why this problem happened. Any ideas??

Ok so I reset my ipod touch 4th gen and it got stuck on the apple logo screen and holding down the buttons just made it turn off for a few seconds and go straight back onto the logo screen, nothing was happening with it connecting to itunes either. But I held the home and the power button down at the same time while connected to my laptop and then when the logo reappeard I released the power button and it came up with with the itunes logo and the usb logo. It then allowed me to select restore on itunes which I did but a box popped up saying "The ipod software update server could not be contacted. make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later." Please help.

I have quite literally tried everything. My ipod touch just will not update.
My internet connection is more than fine, my ipod functions as it should, and I can connect to the itunes store.
It will not, however, connect to the update server.
I have spent around 2 hours tonight troubleshooting and i still have nothing.
