  • How to make a graph dynamic data driven? Plus some XML basics for Illustrator?

    I need to make some graphs that are linked to a series of data through XML files (originally Excel) and create an indvidual document for each data set. They will be used for the web and print. Please advise.

    Tis is what you can do you create say your chart or your data say in Excel and you export ast Tab Delineated Text.You can then import that data for a chart with the import chart feature it is the first icon on top of the chart data window then you can make the chart dynamic asa variable and capture the data set then import another chart's data as txt as you did before then capture that as a data set abnd so on if you have then ten data sets each one will correspond to the one you need you can name the data sets so you can easily call up the one you need.
    I never made a chart in excel or imported such data before a few minutes ago nor have I a=ever made a variable of a chart but this all works pretty reasonably.
    More advance than this I would have to experiement but you can export the variable libraries and open them in Illustrator and figure it out for a way to load or export the excel info so it opens as a chart in Illustratorbut Illustrators charts are kind of primitive so donot expect much without a script to help you.
    Perhaps you can figure out an actiopn toautomate the process?

  • XML Publisher - Dynamic Data Columns Issue

    Hi,
    I am creating a amortization report where I need to show the amortization schedule for unearned revenue. Customers have signed different years of contract and I need to show the amount as per their remaining contract months. So if there are 2 month remaining in the contract then I should show the data for 2 months only and if there are 10 months then I should display 10 months. If we run the report for both customers then it should display two lines in report. For first customer the data should be only for 2 months and for second row(customer) there should be data for next 10 months. These months should be columns in the report(like excel columns, not rows). I need to display all months in columns instead of rows.
    I have acheived that using Dynamic Data Columns as mentioned in the user guide. Everything is working fine except following issues -
    1. How to create page level total?_
    I have created page total in my template using <?add-page-total:TOTUREV;'UREV'?> and displaying using <?show-page-total:TOTUREV?> but when I run the report in excel format these page total do not display. These columns are static columns not dynamic.
    If I run the report in pdf format then the static column total is displayed correctly.
    2. When I run the report in excel format then report run fine and it shows all the columns properly but if I run the report in pdf format then the dynamic column are not displayed in their own columns, all the columns are overwriting each other in a single columns itself, its not expanding.
    3. How do I get the total for the dynamic columns?_
    I need to display the page level total for the dynamic columns also, how do I do that?
    4. When I run the report in excel format the 2 decimal places of the numbers are gone(it works fine in pdf output), like 12.50 becomes 12.5 and 14.00 becomes 14. I need to maintain those 2 decimal places. I have tried using <fo:bidi-override direction="ltr" unicode-bidi="bidi-override"><?format-number:CVALUE;'999999D99'?></fo:bidi-override> but this does not solve my problem completely. It shows the values correctly in excel but then I am not able to do any calculation on those columns, looks like it converts them to text values.
    Any help is really appreicated. Please let me know if you need the xml template and data file.
    Regards
    Hitesh

    Hi Hitesh,
    Can you please upload your RTF and XML template file? I will try to spend sometime on this issue.

  • Creating a dynamic jtree using datas retrieved by dom in xml parsing

    help me with code to create a dynamic jtree using data retrieved as nodes by xml parsing using dom

    Ok, so you want to make a tree. To determine the data that appears in a tree, you have to make a custom tree model. The API for this is at :
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/
    A tutorial for using trees is at :
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/tree.html
    I assume you are going to be using Nodes, since you are using XML. For this I might start with something like
    class NodeTreeModel implements TreeModelI would then implement the 'getChildCount()' as the number of subnodes a node has, and the value of a tree node to the nodes value.
    Hope that starts you off.

  • Dynamic sitemap.xml

    Hi All,
    How can I create dynamic sitemap.xml file?
    Is there built in functionality?
    The Site Map functionality? suggests the way to create human readable sitemap,
    but I need sitemap for search engines (like Google).
    Thanks

    There's no "built-in" functionality, but you can easily write one yourself based off the "built-in" sample code.

  • Sitemap.xml is not up-to-date

    I was browsing in webmaster tools and I noticed that there was an alert that Google was experiencing crawl errors on my site. I noticed that the crawl errors were 404 page not found and that the pages were old pages that have expired or are disabled. Then I looked at the sitemap.xml and noticed that they are still in the feed. Is there a way to update the sitemap.xml so that it updates/regenerates? It looks to me that new pages are being added to the sitemap.xml file but expired and disabled pages are not being removed. Thanks!

    Thanks Liam. I took a copy of sitemap.xml off the site and copied it to the root of the site via FTP. How long before I can delete the file so that the system regenerates? Or did I do this right at all?
    Plus, since my site is always changing, I'm guessing that I have to do this periodically.

  • Dynamic Data in Xcelsius Dashboard via ExcelXML Map?

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a dashboard with a grid with a variable number of rows and columns. The data is given to Xcelsius through an Excel XML map i.e. I have given an XML source to an Excel file and then have imported that excel file into Xcelsius.
    I am able to see dynamic data changes within the pre-specified dimensions (i.e. from the first import). For example, if I have a 4X5 grid and change the text in the first row and first column, then Xcelsius will reflect this. However if I add an additional row with data in the xml file, I am not able to see this, even if I resize the the grid so that it has room at the bottom to be filled in.
    Does anybody have any experience with this/can anyone point me to specific articles? I have followed the instructions given in the Tech Tips article, but this only applies to data within a specific structure, while I want to change the structure itself.
    In short, is it possible to do dynamic structures in Xcelsius?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Please go to Data>Connections>Excel XMl maps under usage tab please check if you have set the options "Refresh on load" or "refresh every".
    If not, please select the refresh option and save the xlf file and then try to create a dashboard again.

  • Header description of dynamic data columns dynamically

    Hi all,
    How is it possible to get Header description of dynamic data columns dynamically??
    Thanks and regards,
    Harry

    Harry,
    Don't have the system right now so going by memory.
    There are 2 parts - you need to see how you specified the text replacement of the variable.  Say on 0fiscper if you specify characteristic value it would show I think 001.2007, 002.2007, etc.  If you use one of the text types, it would be based on the description.
    I always have to think if I need to put the infoobject name or the variable name in the layout definition in the description part.  Off the top of my mind, it would be the infoobject name i.e. 0fiscper for example

  • JSF and dynamic data

    Hi,
    This is not a specific question but rather a high level concept that I'm trying to figure out. I have a system that uses a lot of dynamic data that is handled and viewed in the form of Dynabeans as well as SDO data objects.
    I'm working on trying to develop reusable web widgets such as input forms based on these objects and thought of JSF right away.
    However its seems like JSF will only work with static data models because the beans and bean properties need to be specified at design time in the xml configuration files.
    Here it is: Lets say I have a dynamic java bean with dynamic properties that was created from a metadata object. Now I want to develop a single reusable JSF widget that will create an input form using the information from the metadata object and then connect the widget values to the actual dynamic data object.
    Seems like in order to do this, the properties of the dynamic data object need to be defined at runtime so that you can classify it as a managed bean so that JSF knows how to bind values from a widget to a bean.
    Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Hi.
    ValueBinding and MethodBinding work through PropertyResolver, VariableResolver
    #{aaaa.bbbb.cccc}aaaa - will be resolved with VariableResolver (root object)
    bbbb and cccc - with PropertyResolver
    Look at the description of the default realisation of VariableResolver
    You will see in which places it searches for a root object. At least it searches in the request, session and application maps. You can just put your dynamic beans in one of this maps.
    At the worst case you can substitute implementation of the VariableResolver in faces-config.xml
      <application>
         <variable-resolver>com.qqqqq.MyVariableResolver</variable-resolver>
         <property-resolver>com.qqqqq.MyPropertyResolver</property-resolver>
      </application>
    ...Good luck

  • Downloading dynamic data without a server roundtrip?

    Is there a way to get a FileReference.download like
    experience for dynamic data? I've tried feeding a data: url into
    download, which seemingly triggered a bug as I got a save dialog
    and a true return value from download(), but no data was ever
    saved. I'm running out of ideas and would greatly appreciate any
    help.

    Uhh... after some more reading... is this even possible WITH
    a roundtrip? Seems like Flash can't POST and download at the same
    time... unfortunately, I'm talking about images here... maybe a
    megabyte or more. I can't just append them to the URL as GET
    parameters. And if I use send, I won't be able to offer the return
    for download, which is the whole point.
    The only way I see right now is encoding as string and
    posting it via an IFRAME, but that's not a terribly good idea
    either with a lot of data posted back and forth between the browser
    and Flash

  • Dynamic data declaration refering to local data defined in another program

    Here is the situation:
    The standard program SAPICP__ , SAPICF__ and several other of same series have a form routine REPOSITORY_DEVCLASS_ADD. this subroutine in all SAPI* programs has parameter REPOSITORY of type REPOSITORY (declared as internal table with header lines) and type REPOSITORY is declared with different component in each program.
    Now the problem is that i need to call subroutine REPOSITORY_DEVCLASS_ADD dynamically from my program and so i want to dynamically declare the table REPOSITORY in my program to pass to this subroutine and as program is not yet loaded into memory i have no way to achieve this.
    Can some one help in achieve this?
    Edited by: Gaurav B. on Jan 30, 2012 4:02 PM

    Hello Fred,
    That's a big task, even if it looks "easy". My first idea is, your request can not be covered by dynamic programming. a) every node has a different structure (I guess), b) the code itself has to be adjusted to the nodes in use as well. I.e. when a dynamic data declaration would be possible, the coding has to adhere the used number of nodes.
    My recommendation:
    - declare as many standard tables (nodes) as possible
    - the code for  each node has to be implemented
    - define the number of used nodes by a parameter or an interface
    Have success,
    Heinz

  • How to bind dynamic data to JNet

    Develop tools: NWDS 7.1
    Server: Windows2000
    Does anyone have experiences with using JNET within Webdynpro Project ?
    In our case, we use JNet to generate a hierachical network diagram in the Webdypro's GUI. The data source is from the tables in a DB. However, till now, we only know how to let JNet generate the network diagram from a static XML file.
    Since the data in the DB changes all the time, how to let the network diagram reflect the newest data status automatically? That is, how to bind JNet to a dynamic data source then?

    Hi,
    Network UI element is related with Jnet. What you need to start up working with this is you need to create a context structure mentioned below.
    Node:Source
    Element--- xml -> this should be of type binary.
    Place the following code in the init.
    ISimpleTypeModifiable mod = wdContext.nodeSource().getNodeInfo().getAttribute("xml").getModifiableSimpleType();
    IWDModifiableBinaryType bin = (IWDModifiableBinaryType)mod;
    bin.setMimeType(new WDWebResourceType("xml", "application/octet-stream", false));
    ISourceElement element =wdContext.nodeSource().createSourceElement();
    wdContext.nodeSource().addElement(element);
    try
    fileName = WDURLGenerator.getResourcePath(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), "jnettest.xml");
    element.setXml(readFile(fileName));
    catch (WDAliasResolvingException e)
    You have to place the Jnet test.xml under the mimes folder of your application.
    Place the network element in the view and in the data source specify the context attribute source.xml
    if your xml file complies with the jnet schema your application will render it.
    Pl go through this
    Using the "Network" UI Element
