Hi Hans!
Thanks much.
Currently we are using Oracle database v9, so we are more interested on Oracle 9.x client to be run on "Solaris 10 AMD64".
I searched for the combination of "Oracle client 9.x"/"Solaris x86-64", and came to know this combination is missing(or unavailable) from the client list provided at Oracle web site.

Hi
Thank you for reading my post
Is there any version of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 for Solaris X86 available or under development?
Does any one tried the sparc version on x86?
ThanksI looked there and it say there is only SPARC architecture available.
I want to ask whether any one tried to install the sparc version on X86 or not as it is java and should run everywhere.
Thanks. -
Oracle Database Release 1 (10.1.0.5.0) for solaris 10
Hi can anyone tell me where to download Oracle Database Release 1 (10.1.0.5.0) for solaris 10? Thanks in advance.
10gR1 is no longer supported - you will either need to open an SR with Support and ask them to ship you the media (assuming you have a valid license and a support contract) or see if you can download from http://edelivery.oracle.com. In either case, you will most likely get the base version of 10gR1 and you will need to patch it up to 10.1.0.5. The patch is only available in My Oracle Support. Is there a reason you need such an old version of the software ?

Oracle SOA Suite is also available for Solaris, HP-UX, IBM
Oracle SOA Suite is also available for Solaris, HP-UX, IBM
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.htmlHi-
You can use below manual installation proceeds as follows :
Step 1. Download a setup for Windows and run it on a Windows machine.
Step 2. Once the setup is finished, FTP all the following files and folders from your Windows machine to you Sun Solaris server :
the entire 'bin' folder (excepting the '.bat' files) - ASCII transfer mode
the entire 'lib' folder - BINARY transfer mode
the entire 'drivers' folder - BINARY transfer mode
Step 3. Once you have transferred all the files, do not forget to configure the odiparams.sh file according to your environment. Also add the appropriate files, used by ODI to connect to your technologies, to the 'drivers' folder.
Does it helpful?
Thanks,

I'm running Coldfusion 8 and Oracle XE 10, both on IIS 7.
Every so often, I get this message:
[Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-12519 The
listener could not find any available service handlers that are
appropriate for the client connection. One possible cause for this
error is that the server was not configured for the specified
server type (shared/dedicated).
I can restart the OracleServiceXE service and it works fine.
However, I have no clue what is causing this. I believe it all
began once I started using CFSCRIPTS and running queries using that
instead of CFML. Would anyone know what COULD cause this error to
happen and what I should look out for? I am new to Oracle and CF
btw.
Also, I can access it fine through the oracle homepage, but
when I attempt to connect to it from the coldfusion administrator,
it cannot establish a connection to that data source. It is only
after I restart the service that things go back to normal. Thanks.
RyanHello,
Can you provide output of the following? Any other errors along with this error in alert.log file? Also your listener.ora and tnsnames.ora?
lsnrctl>set displaymode verbose
lsnrctl>services your_listener_name
lsnrctl>status
$> sqlplus '/as sysdba'
sql> select * from v$resource_limit;Regards

Oracle VM Manager and Agent 3.3 Beta Available for Testing
We have the beta version of Oracle VM Manager available for testing. The beta software and documentation are available here.
For SPARC customers, you'll need to download the beta versions of Oracle VM Agent for SPARC and DLM (Distributed Lock Manager) module to testing the new SPARC related management features.
Please read the Welcome Letter to understand the requirements of the beta testing. We rely on our Beta Program participants to provide feedback on the usability, stability, and overall quality of our product release. This feedback will focus on your experience with the new features, product documentation, support services, and training materials. By providing in-depth feedback, you can help influence Oracle’s product direction.
Provide us information about your set-up here.
Periodically tell us what you have tried and how it is going here.Papi wrote:
Ah, ok. But since this is to be a production system we will be installing a standar Oracle database as per documentation recommendation. In that case we should be safe... right?Yes, you would need to install SE or EE for production purposes. However, keep in mind that because XE is using the default ports, the new Database install will be using non-standard ports. -
8.0.x client available for solaris?
My application server fails to connect to my (oracle 8.1.7 solaris 32 bit) database, producing an error which says it cant find libclntsh.so.1.0
It looks like version 8.1.7 client uses a shared lib called libclntsh.so.8.0 instead.
I created a symlink so libclntsh.so.1.0 pointed to the libclntsh.so.8.0 lib, but then got an error finding a symbol.
Where can i get the older client?
thanks
please email [email protected] with info!Oracle Instant Client was a "feature" introduced with Oracle 10g. There is no 9i version.
Code that links with Oracle 9i libraries should be able to be linked with Instant Client 10gR2.
The resulting application will be able to connect to databases from Oracle 8.1 onwards. -
i'm unable to find the link to download the patch to upgrade from 8.1.6.0 to 8.1.6.3 for both NT and Solaris.
Please send me the link.
I found this link with the oracle patch Matrix. Not sure whether the contents are the latest.
http://otn.oracle.com/deploy/security/pdf/patch_avail.html
Please treat this as urgent.
Thanks,If you go to http://metalink.oracle.com, patches & updates is one of the options in the navigation bar.

Oracle client connecting to sqlserver
oracle client connecting to sqlserver in local machine. working fine.
but I am connecting to remote sqlserver getting error
obojects does not exist
listenter not started.
No firewall, port is open, entry in the sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora, listener.ora
all correct.
I have qusetion, connecting oracle client and sqlserver
we need install any special odbc
please let me knowthis question should be in HS forum
and oracle client (eg sqlplus) can't directly connect to other ODBC databases., but oracle server can through heterogeneous connectivity (HS) and yes server will need ODBC driver to do that.
