Issue in Quiz Remediation

Hello All,
I have been facing an issue with Quiz remediation.
I have developed a course with 30 slides dividing it into three sets.
After every set of slides I have inserted a set of 10 questions.
Now, as the user gets any question wrong i have directed it to a specific slide. From where the next button returns back to the incorrectly answered question on clicking next. (using advanced action "go to next slide + return to quiz").
After user successfully completes the first set of questions he/she can progress to the next set of slides which also have the remediation functionality for the second set of questions.
The problem comes in the first slide of the second set of slides. When I click next it takes me back to the last slide of the first set of questions.
I have tried using advanced actions and searched everywhere but could not find any such issue.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Mirza

Captivate 6 includes a new feature called Return to Quiz.
You can set the On Last Attempt action on the Quiz slide to jump to your remediation slide (3).  You can place a button on that slide labelled as Next and set its action as Return to Quiz.  The first time the user passes through that remediation slide, the button action defaults to Continue.  But if you returned to that slide from a failed question slide, then on clicking the button again it would jump you back to the question slide you just failed, and the user would be given another attempt at the question.
I'm not personally in favour of this particular 'feature' because it basically means the user can loop around as many times as they want until they get the question correct.  In my view this isn't great instructional design.
But it might be good enough for what you want.

  • Captivate 6 issue with quiz remediation

    Hi,
    I have below scenario,
    slide 1
    slide 2
    slide 3
quiz slide: In the quiz slide if user enters correct answer it should take to the next slide, if user enters wrong answer should go back to Slide 3 to review the content. After review should be able to take quiz again.
    slide 4
    slide 5
Currently issue is when user enters wrong answer, he is redirected to slide 3 for review but when he comes back to quiz slide submit button is disabled. i tried several options like adding click interaction on slide 3 and including this as part of quiz scope. nothing worked. Please help me out to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Firefox issue with quiz?

Hi I finished the quiz for week 1 on Firefox, it showed my score and prompted me to press the finish button to continue. When I do nothing happens, so I'm unsure if my score has been recorded. I know some of the other discussions mentioned that there was a small bug or issue in IE, but I thought it best to report that I was having a similar issue with Firefox.

    Hi Damian -
Thank you.  As I noted in this post, later versions of FF (not sure starting with which version) disallow windows closing.

  • Adobe Presenter Issues with Quiz

All quiz questions set as required, all included in 1 of 5 question groups, and when published, I get the message " There are unattempted questions in the quiz. Clicking on Yes will take you out of the quiz. Click on No to continue the quiz", even though I know I have completed (answered) all 20 questions but on the last question, the submit button doesn't forward the presentation to the final results page as it used to.  I have to click yes to get out of the quiz to view the slide with my test results, indicating I completed all 20.
so two issues:  1) why does it say unattempted questions when all have been attempted, and 2) why doesn't the submit button on the last question work to get out of the 5th  question group and onto the results slide??
I have since turned off the "unattempted questions" option as a work around.

Try changing the the quiz setting to Answer All instead of Required. That may help call out which question is causing the issue.
Beyond that, I feel like I would need to see the PPT slide deck to be able to give more insight. It may also be something that need to be looked at by Support.

  • Quiz Remediation

    Hello Again,
While working within captivate 6 quizzing functionality I came across this helpful video.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw9wcgup4s8&feature=related
This video speaks to the ability to set a quiz question such that if you answer wrong it will send you to the slide that has the information you need on it then send you bank to the quiz question to try answering again.
I have looked at how he has done this and tried to copy his actions but I have yet to achieve the same results.
Is there an impornt piece of information he is missing or a property that needs to be set somewhere else?
Please help me make what he does in this video reality.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
I am trying to use the Remediation feature. However the remediation works only when there is an interactive object like click box etc. Instead of using any interactive object is it possible to use the next button that is there in the course to allow the learner to Return to Quiz when they have reviewed the content? We want to use the button to navigate the learner to the next slide when they first visit the slide.
As per the help for Captivate it is
For example, consider that you have a content slide that you want to use as a remedy slide for users who get a question wrong. When you change the action for the button on the content slide as Return To Quiz:
The button behaves like a 'next' button when the users visit the slide for the first time.
This behaviour helps you treat the slide like a regular content slide.
We want the same button to behave as Return to Quiz and and Go to Next Slide.
    Thank you

  • Pass/Fail issue with Quiz and Click Buttons

Got a complicated one for ya!
I have a project that has about 100 quiz questions.  I want to add slides with an image for backgrownd, a voice over and a "Click Button" to be used like a Simulation.  If the "Click Button" is not clicked on, I want the slide to act like a Quiz and be marked as wrong.
At the end of the Quiz I want the Pass/Fail function to be: If Pass: "Continue" then if Fail "Jump to Slide". This Failed Slide would jump to the last slide; the end of the project with a "Thank you".  If Passed, the project continues to display more information on other slides.
The tests I have done the Pass/Fail seems to not be working.  If failed, the project continues just like the Passed even though the "Pass/Fail" options are marked correctly.
    What do you think?

Also check the options under Quiz > Settings > Required.  It could be that you have it set to something other than Optional which might be restricting things.

  • How do I email customer service? I spent an hour on the phone with a customer service rep and my issue was not remedied.

Need to email customer service management or supervisor to get an issue resolved. I don't see any email options only chat and call and I don't have time to do another hour phone call today.

There is no email for customer support.  Your options are phone, chat, or social media.  Or perhaps going in to a corporate store in person?  Since you haven't given a clue as to what your unresolved issue is, it's hard to know what the best approach would be.

  • Alignment issues with quiz boxes in captivate 7

when viewing quiz check boxes with their associated question they seem aligned in captivate. but when i preview the slide or publish the slide they are no longer aligned.
is there a fix for this?
my work around was to make the questions white and place a blk text box over it so i can manually move the question box separately from the check box.

    Hello and welcome,
Which version of 7? If you don't have 7.0.1.237 yet, it is time to upgrade. I think this is one of the fixed bugs.

  • Netflix DRM issue. No remedy seems to be working

    Hey
I've been using these forums to find fixes for my problem but to no avail. Basically, I keep getting a DRM error when trying to run netflix. Here is a list of things I've tried.
    - Restarted browsers
    - Restarted computer
    - Used IE9, Chrome, Firefox
    - Removed the playready folder on my computer
    - Removed the HDS file within playready
    - Removed the IS directory within Silverlight (netflix recommended this one)
    - Browsed to my local folder (netflix mentioned this. For the life of me, I did not know what browsing would do)
    - Uninstalled silverlight. Installed it via netflix
    - Checked to see if silverlight was enabled
I've been on the phone with netflix. They keep making me retry the same things. Even got on the phone with Microsoft but they wanted to charge me 99 dollars. I said no. I checked for restore points. Apparently the only one I had WAS from today. Netflix is
    working on other computers.
Any additional suggestions other than reformating my computer? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
So what is the error? that is what the error description is.
    See if this helps

    http://mike-thomson.com/blog/?p=210,

Or go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady and renaming mspr.hds to whatever you want, deleting it, moving it or whatever... fixes the problem.

  • Captivate, quiz and video issues

Ok so this post is for anyone like me ( a massive beginner) trying to use flv video's in a quiz evaluation situation for playback on local machine.
First of all if you've got lots of Big Videos probably forget the self contained situation and look at browser route. Get all your questions & video slides in and notice that whatever radio button is checked when you highlight the general quiz properties is the one it assumes is the right answer click shuffle or not and all that stuff then tell it what to do when it gets it right and then tell it what to do when it gets it wrong; like jump to watch that bit of video again ( I couldn't be arsed working out multi slide syncronising across slides and all that so I just exported the punishment / review flv bit again and made a seperate slide of it. Now what I found out is this captivate caper is not over happy with copy and paste. so when you import video I did it by importing it into the library first (It kept hanging, stopping, locking up when I inserted video the normal way after copying and pasting a previous video slide somewher else and replacing the flv) so get it in the library, drag it to a new slide, it asks you about streaming and progressive, do progressive and modify to accomodate timings, then the slide sort's its self out to suit the length of the flv (important if its too long or short or wrong or something then it hangs after its played... it won't return to quiz). The action on the slide should be on exit return to quiz. most of the other kak can be sorted either through quiz preferences or project skin editor... All that progress bar stuff is ok while your testing and that but then disable the lot at the end. who cares if the user knows how long they have got left.
Also, if you are trying to jump around from a nav slide at the start using buttons... well unless you have told quiz prefs the user doesn't have to do the quiz it might not work.
I've been on this captivate for 3 days, and its annoying as f**k but probably good, but if like me you just need a validation quick situation without scoring and data capture and all that then just get rid of all that scoring penalty caper... who cares what's what percentage they got thats for google big brother nosey data tw*ts and sad kippers. whats wrong with  'you passed go and get a sticker and a lollipop' slide at the end.
P.S. what a load of old w**k this e-learning shi*te is, I have got to get a better life. Does anyone care about this crap unless its some kind of mystical future telling algorithm,
I don't, if someone subjects me to a questionaire about 'How do I feel about Tuna welfare in the south pacific" or ' what do I consider the most important role of a fast food burger selling executive'... I'm already dead! F**k this I'm going to look at nudie women

    Hello There,
Sorry to note that you are having issues with Quiz+Video workflows, but, can you please put it in bullet points the issues you are having? I'm sorry to ask you again because I didn't get much from your explanation. May be, if possible, you could send me a note on the issues with a sample file? You can send it to [email protected] Please be assured that we will work with you to investigate the issues.
    Thanks,

  • Quiz slide issues in Captivate 4

I am having functionality issues with quiz slides in Captivate 4. When taking the quiz, slides will randomly get stuck/grey out and the user has to click the back button and then go forward and the slide will then function correctly. This is not acceptable to the client, for obvious reasons. I have tried re-building the quiz slides (several times) and have also copied the entire project into a clean Captivate file. Nothing seems to make a difference and it is still completely random. I will preview the quiz over and over and sometimes it will work perfectly and then the next time it'll get stuck. This has only started occuring since I upgraded to Cp4. I have had to resort to not using Quiz slides at all and re-creating them with click boxes, but then I miss out on some of the needed functionality that the quiz slides provide (with feedback). I am pulling my hair out! Anyone else having trouble with this?

    Hello all
I have been having the same issue and have spent a bunch of time with Adobe so this is what they sent me and so far my quizzes have been working and I have had no reports of any quiz's freezing up fingers crossed.
This is the latest corospondence from Adobe I have recived.. hope it helps..

1.)Separate all of the different quiz type questions into separate pools
and pull random questions from each pool.
2.)Stop using the multiple choice slides with single correct answer only
as it defeats the usability of the quiz module in Captivate
3.)Verify that video card drivers are compatible with Windows XP.
If you still think that it is the problem with Adobe Captivate then
please perform the below mentioned steps;-
1.) Recreate the Adobe Captivate preferences files.
Recreate the Adobe Captivate preferences files to eliminate problems
that a damaged preferences file might cause.
To recreate the Adobe Captivate preferences files:
    1. Quit Adobe Captivate.
    2. In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Documents and
Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Adobe and move the "Adobe
Captivate" folder to another location (for example, the Desktop).
    3. Start Adobe Captivate. Adobe Captivate creates new preferences
    files.

  • Remediation Workflow in Captivate 7

I'm trying to incorporate remediation in my quizzing using Adobe Captivate 7.  I've watched this tutorial, Remediation in Quizzing -AdobeCaptivate 6 - YouTube , as well as read through other posts and I haven't found my answer even though I think others have had similar issues.  I have 24 content slides and then 5 question slides that follow.  When I preview my entire project the first time, and I get to a slide that is eventually a remediation slide, I am not able to use the 'Next' button to advance to the next slide.  During the quiz, remediation works appropriately and takes me to my content slide.  I'm also able to hit 'Next' and return to the quiz question.
I have the 'Quiz Properties' - 'Actions' set as follows:
    On Success: Continue
    Attempts: 1
    Failure Levels: None
    Last Attempt: Jump to slide
    Slide: Slide 5
I have the 'Next' button 'Actions' set as follows:
    On Success: Return to Quiz
    Attempts: Infinite
    Allow Mouse Click
    Shortcut: Enter
Is this an issue with my settings or is there another issue or concern I'm not thinking of?  Please help.  Thank you!

OK, cannot log in to the forums (already problems whole day). But I see
that the shapes are not in the timeline during the active portion of the
click box! How do you want them to become visible?
And please, the bug patch to 7.0.1.237 was released in October last year,
    install it ASAP.

  • Captivate 7 - Some Users Not Getting 100% of Answers Correct with Question Remediation

We are using Captivate 7 content to deliver courses via Adobe Connect 9.1.  We are experiencing an interesting issue with question remediation. When a user takes the quiz question and gets the answer wrong, the user is taken back to spot in the course where he/she can review the information.  Once the user is done reviewing the information, he/she is taken back to the question to answer it correctly.  The learner has infinite attempts to get the answer correct.  In theory, the user should always get 100% for the final test score.  We are noticing that some users (10%) actually don’t get 100% of the answers correct according to Adobe Connect transcript reports.
Is there something we can look at to see what might be causing the incorrect score?  Is there a known issue?
We publish Captivate 7 content as SWF/HTML 5 on Adobe Connect 9.1.

Unfortunately, the discussion here led me to the resolution, but is not terribly valuable from a Captivate standpoint.  It turns out that we have a custom database script running on the Adobe Connect back end to correct people who have been left in an "In Progress" state even though they have a passing score and appear to have completed the course.  To avoid the script changing these records to pass, we bumped the passing score to 100%.
    Thanks for the help!

  • New issues setting up iOS 7 devices in Apple Configurator?

I have 1,200 iPad 4's that all game with iOS 6... Now configurator wants to automatically upgrade the iOS to 7 for any device I plug in...
    The issues:
Will not restore a backup with a Wifi network already joined and connected.
Lock-Screen wallpaper is not scaled to proper size.
Cannot bypass setup assistant. It forces you to go through it.
Does anyone else have these issues or a remedy for these issues? Major headaches!!!

We had some students who updated our shared iPad cart iPads to iOS 7. It currently isn't working well with Apple Configurator for us. I used this article and the following website to download iOS 6.1.3 to restore these iPads to a functioning state. Our MDM is currently not updated to work with iOS 7 and I am having activation problems with Apple Configurator so it looks like we will be sticking with 6.1.3 until things get updated.

  • Export to excel and others inactive in ALV GRID

    Hi,
I am creating a report using the 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' FM and the export to excel fucntionality is inactive. There is no spreadsheet push button on the application toolbar and the List->Export sub menu items 'Word processing' 'spreadsheet' and 'local file ' are all inactive. I have tried to run the code on a different system and the export to excel functionality works there. I am considering creating a new GUI staus using the standard status contained in the function group of 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' but will like to know if this issues can be remedied e.g is it probably a basis issue or a configuration issue e.t.c.
    Thanks
    Andy.

    Hi Max,
Checked the PF_STATUS_SET routine and there was code that deactivated  all gui download function codes of the standard gui status if an authorisation check failed ( auth obj. S_GUI) but the function code for excel export is &XXL not &VEXCEL.
Thanks for the prompt reply max, much appreciated
    regards
