Issues with iFrame elements in Illustrator

Currently I'm having issues with adding an iFrame element to an extension run in Illustrator.
I'm using Eclipse 4.3 to run extension build 3, release 3. I've created the basic project, and I get the extension to function correctly when there's just the basic button. Further I can make changes to the button (change the text) and it continues to work.
However, when I add an iFrame element to the extension it seems to crash. The extension window opens and then immediately closes. There are no error messages from Illustrator, nor are there any errors in any log files from adobe/illustrator.
Here is the line I'm attempting to add to the basic starter application in the index.html file:

Also I can manually load index.html file and it works correctly when opened by Chrome.
I am using Illustrator CC 17.1.0 32/64 bit.

Issues with IFrame and calling an application outside the IFrame

I have an issue which is really turning my head 360 degrees in a "dead loop":)
I have a WebDynpro application, one component and three views in a viewset.
The first view will always be placed in column one and depending on some action the two other views should be loaded one by one. So in the main view the users will select three parameters from three dropdownboxes and then a call with the given parameters to an html file in KM - which then again is passing the parameters to a swf file which is presenting an Business Objects dashboard. The BO Dashboard is presented in an iFrame.
The users selects an element in the Dashboard and is then again calling the webdynpro application with four parameters, the three first from the dropdownboxes, but also a new one which is used to call the third view. I am using NavigationTarget in the URL to load the application at the given position in the portal. And the logic is working, BUT the portal is presented in the IFram of the first View.
So my question is - How to navigate from the IFrame and "back into the portal"????

There was an issue with the serialization file created.
Creating a new serilaization file via AAMEE and running it resolved the issue.

And then run it via command line.
Here are the steps:
AdobeSerialization (serialization file created using AAMEE 3.1) is not a double clickable file. You need to run it via command line to serialize the products. the command line is -
AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize --stream --provfile=”Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml”
where
--tool=VolumeSerialize: specifies that the tool needs to process the prov.xml file to serialize.
--provfile” specifies the absolute file path to the prov.xml file,
By default, the tool looks for the prov.xml file in the same directory as the executable file and so
typically you do not need to specify this option. (Specify this option only if the prov.xml file is in some
other location.)
Make sure you invoke command prompt with Admin privileges. Return code of zero means success.

Issues with Photoshop Elements 12

I am already using Photoshop CS6 and was informed that I can also purchase and install Photoshop Elements 12 on the same PC (Windows 7).
This I have now done but after some installation issues I am now experiencing a problem with the camera raw part of Elements. I am receiving an error message when I try and send the edited raw file to the main Elements program. The strange part is that if I open the same raw file again in Elements camera raw and try transfering again it works OK. Can there be a conflict somewhere?

Issues with activation of the Illustrator trial version

Hi there,
I have just downloaded the Illustrator CS6 trial version and the download appeared to be successful. I was then prompted to sign in to Adobe to activate the trial and when I input my details the following pop up message comes up:

I am then unable to close this window. I have restarted my computer 3 times (in order to close the window) and keep getting the same error message. This is preventing me from opening the trial version of Illustrator.
I am running on Windows 7 Home Premium. I also have the latest full Photoshop version on my computer which was successfully downloaded and I haven't had any issues with this (however, in saying this, never downloaded the trial version).
Please could you urgently help with this matter.

Fatal Issues with Text in Adobe Illustrator CC 17.1

I am having serious issues with my AI file today. Whenever I select a text box, I get the error "Can't edit the type" if I try to modify the text. Then it just pastes gibberish into the text box. Please help, as I am on a tight deadline and this is really going to complicate getting things done on time. Here is link to the file: MHRH_ED_Floorplan_2015-03-08.ai - Box

A work-around I was able to figure out it to select all of the text by type (point for example), and then convert it to the other type (area) and back to the original (point). This messes up all of the text box spacing that I have in my document, but it allows me to edit text without the crazy errors I was having before.

Accesibility Issues with Image element

Hi All,
I've image element inside a table column. Image used is '~Icon/RedLed'.
Image source and tool tip are bound properly.
But we are facing an accessibility issue in this.
When accessibility mode is set to X, image tool tip reads as
'Image - Unavailable - Error Exist - Row 6 column Status'
where 'Error Exist' is the tooltip we are providing.
The problem is with 'Unavailable' word which is also coming up.
Also, Image is also rendered, so there is no issue like image path is not found therefore Unavailable word is comin.
Does anyone have any clue why this could be comnig up.

Issues with Premiere Elements 8...

Just purchased and installed elements 8 on my rather old pc (like 5 years) which I've been upgrading constantly to avoid having to buy a new one. Everything seems to work fine, there's some slight lags when rendering clips etc, but the main issue is when I try to use to use the time stretch tool. I'm just trying to compress a 20 or so minute long shot into 15 seconds, and every time I do, it will render the shot and then crash eventually, without playing it. Can anyone help me with this really annoying problem and maybe give me some advice as to how I can maybe get a better performance from the software?
I'm running XP sp2 (I just factory reset so I'm still updating for sp3)

Well, I see two instant issues: lack of defragmented free space, plus the bottleneck of partitions. This ARTICLE will give you some background on partitions, especially for video-editing.
Next, what is the connection type for the external? If USB, then there could well be issues there, as the computer can encounter read/write errors, as the programs will shove material, and ask for more, much faster than that connection type can provide. USB externals are fine for archiving, but can be very problematic, when trying to edit to/from. I use FW-800's with no issues, but eSATA would be even better.
Do you have a laptop (probably mentioned above)? If so, can you use a PCMCIA, or ExpressCard to go to eSATA externals?
If a desktop, I would certainly look at adding at least one additional internal HDD. Not sure where you are located, but Fry's (Western US retailer) just had WD 1.5TB SATA internals, with full installation kit for US $149, and if one uses say ATA-300's, they had a 2TB WD for US$89.

CS5 Issue with PDF exporting to Illustrator?

Hi all,
I'm having issues exporting PNG files to PDF files from Fireworks CS5. When I export, they're suddenly saving and needed to being opened in Illustrator - which I don't want them to do or have the AI file extension. Is there a setting I can change? I need a "traditional" PDF so I can send to a client who does not have Illustrator.
This issue just started today, and I'm not sure where the source of the change is.

I very much appreciate your help. As you recommended, I tried the conversion without OCR (useful post is here http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062) but again with result "the conversion failed because the file is taking too long to process". This option makes the conversion easier but doesn't help in this particular case. This document doesn't contain any pictures so the recognition wasn't so processing expensive to help shorten the time of the conversion.
We are talking about long (hundreds of pages) but simple document formatted as a table. I expected that the conversion to Excel sheet is simple. If the service is so complicated, why don't use some spool, take requests and send notifications about the result. You can have hours for conversion, I don't care.
And, if the service is so sensitive, maybe some list of limitations and to-do's in case of problems could be helpful - the best on the home page of the product to be informed before making the order. It isn't possible to spend many hours on discussions and forums and read about the troubles of another people to find the solution. Maybe could be a fair solution to give a possibility to try your tool for free with some limitations (number of pages, number of documents or something similar).
I am grateful that we found a solution and I can cancel my order and get my money back. Unfortunately, this service doesn't fit my needs.

Imcompatibility issues with Photoshop Elements 4.0 Software Installation and Windows Version 7.0?

Kalari12 Mylenium has a point that the software may simply not function as Windows 7 was not even in the beginning of development when Photoshop Elements 7 was created. You are welcome to post the exact error message you are receiving and I can check our knowledgbase.

Are there issues with Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Internet Explorer 8.0?

I recently upgraded to IE 8.0 and got a message that My catalog.psa file was missing. I recreated this file and then was able to open the organizer. My original tags, collection etc. were missing. I have done a search for any.pas file and cannot find the original extensive file I had that must have had about 2000 photos organized in that catalog. Because of Outlook Express issues at the same time of the IE 8.0 upgrade Microsoft backed out the IE 8.0 to IE 7.0 and this did not help me to restore my original My Catalog.pas file. I see two psa files associated with 4.0 : My Catalog-undo.pas and My Catalog.psa. If I tried to select the My Catalog-undo.pas I get the following message...There was a problem opening The Catalog named "My Catalog-undo.psa. Another user or application may have the catalog open, or one or more files may be missing, out of date, or damaged. The ODBC data source reported the following error: "[Microsoft] ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query IdTable.' make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.* Attempt to compact and recover this catalog, then open again? OK Cancel
Please help me understand what i must do to get my original My Catalog file installed. Thank you.

"I recently upgraded to IE 8.0 and got a message that My catalog.psa file was missing." Aside from the fact that IE 8.0 has nothing to do with PSE, I am extremely skeptical that the upgrade to IE 8 gave you an error message that your My Catalog.psa file was missing.
Your catalog may have been accidentally moved or deleted, but I refuse to believe that it has anything to do with IE 8. By now, there are many PSE users who have upgarded to IE 8, and I hear no complaints from them.
When you did the search, did you search in hidden folders? Usually, PSE puts its catalog into hidden folders, so you need to make sure you search hidden folders.
If you can't find the catalog file via searching in hidden folders, you might want to look in the trash can, or if that fails, try something called an "undelete utility" which may be able to recover erased files. There are freeware versions you can download.
As you discovered, you cannot recreate catalogs. Which means that you need to make regular backups of your catalog file and your photos, so if something accidentally happens to your catalog, you still have a recent copy. I am assuming that you have not done so. I am also assuming that whenever your fix this problem, you will begin making regular backups.

In the browser window where you see all of your photos highlight those you want to place in an album (click on the first and hold down shift and click on the last) then drag the album icon from the left panel to one of the selected photos and it will place them all in the album.

Need help with startup Sync issue with Photoshop Elements 8.0

When starting up Photoshop Elements 8.0 a brief dialog appears about sync space being filled up with options for Cancel or Proceed. This is then quickly covered up by the frame showing Survey/Show What's New/etc... cannot get back to dialog about sync space. Only way to get into the program is to click on the right arrows in the Welcome to Elements frame, start a tour, click right arrow until Go box is presented and then click on Go. Major PITA to do this. If we are quick, we can click on the initial dialog and click on Cancel or Proceed and get into the program without the covered up frame. We are running PSE8 on Windows 7.
I have shut off sync and still this problem remains.I have been a loyal Adobe product user but this Automatic Sync stuff is really starting to get VERY irritating.

A lot of people are finding the same frustrations. Apparently PSE8 does not let you select start up with the Editor but forces the welcome screen on users. This is a classic case of Adobe not knowing what customers want and giving us what they think we want. It ignores the fact that the majority of users will have upgraded from earlier versions.
You can make quick short cuts. If using windows right click on the desktop, select new short cut then browse to program files, Adobe Photoshop elements and scroll right down the list and click on Editor; then finish.
You can do the same for the organizer and then launch each one independently.
You need to think carefully whether you need to keep everything in sync with Photoshop.com. Several users have found problems when they have quickly used up their free storage capacity and then have to pay Adobe an upgrade fee just to continue using the program, otherwise they are locked out.

Apache web server 2.0 plugin issue with Iframes

I was wondering if anyone had any issues related to iframes when going from the Apache plugin for version 1.3 to version 2.0. Currently I'm having a problem where I use the mod_wl20.so plugin on Apache web server 2.0X and I will get a download dialog box to download a html file. I do not have this issue when using the plugin for Apache web server 1.3X.

there is no SAP supported solution for Apache2.
Note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/442401 stated the development has ended.
But you can build your own filter based on SSOEXT library, see https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/304450 for details.

Those Having Startup Issues with Premiere Elements 4.0

After a long night, spanning many hours and lots of swearing, I got round a problem that SOME people may have with Elements 4.0 or other versions.
My problem was that the program would not start. It would say "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" then "Windows is trying to look for a solution"
I LITERALLY tried everything, but it still would not work.
Finally, the problem was Quick Time. If Quick Time does not work, it may clash with Elements and cause it not to work. DELETE, Quick Time. You maye have to go to program files and do this manually, then use the uninstall program to permanently do so. Once this is done, then Elements should be up and running.
Yeah, I know...NEED an update.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the report. QT is one of the elements that we usually mention early on, as PrE relies much more heavily on it, than most users think. They are mistaken that it is only used for MOV and MP4 Assets, and that if they do not have those in a Project, QT is not in the mix - it is.
As for versions, I am still on PrE 4, but will likely upgrade, if for no other reason, than so I can better help folk here.
