ITunes gift card money disappeared?? Help!
So I was trying to rent a movie off my desktop Mac computer which already had $15.00 gift card money on there. The money was next to my account name and everything! When I tried to rent the movie, a window popped up telling me to "authorize the computer". After I authorized it, the money was gone! I tried logging in and out my account but nothing! It disappeared...I don't know what to do but I'm hoping I can get that money back. Any help?
You might have multiple iTunes accounts and you're available store credit balance is on you other account.

Another possibility is that the store credit balance you were seeing was outdated information and that your store credit had actually already been spent. When you authorized your account, your account information simply updated.
This can happen, for example, when you use multiple computers to make iTunes Store purchases.

how do i do itOpen iTunes on your computer. In the iTunes Store log into your iTunes Store account and view your account. Select Edit Payment Information. In the credit card choices I would choose None. That will remove your Mom's CC info. Next under iTunes Gift Cards and Certificates click the little arrow to redeem your Gift Card. Then follow the instrction to redeem your GC.
You can also do this on your iPod, but it is more complicated to describe how to do it and to actually do it. It is easier to do in the iTunes on your computer. -

So what's going on?
It all started a few months ago when I realized that the $20 iTunes gift-card credit was used without my knowledge. Someone had purchased an iPhone app that was obviously foreign. I immediately changed my passwords to something I've never used anywhere, ever. The next day, I noticed that whoever downloaded the "app" used the card AGAIN to make in-game purcahses. Scared, angered, and confused, I called Apple who proceeded to tell me to change my passwords (despite my explanation) and then deactivated my account for a week. They reimbursed the stolen money and I thought everything was good... until now.
There are only 2 devices that are authorized to access my iTunes account - my iMac and my iPhone. I do not join any unreliable websites or download any malicious (appearing) software, much of it being recommended-by-apple apps. I just went on to iTunes today 9/9/12 and noticed that I was downloading something and there it was, once again:
I have no idea how this is happening and/or how to stop it. They want to charge me $40 to talk to them on the phone since my gear is older than 90 days. If anyone knows what to do, or why this is happening, please help!You need to contact iTS.

There is no fee for email support. Also, in 99.9% of cases these in-app purchases, and what you describe are due to family members using the device and not aware they are carrying out in-app purhases.
Restrict in-apps and you'll see this will stop. I'm sure iTS will also regurgitate this as well to you. -

Anything is possible, but this is not how it works. It will not just disappear.
Look through your purchase history to make sure that it has not been spent.

Why has my iTunes gift card balance disappeared from my account?
Received an iTunes gift card for Christmas. When I took pic of it with my camera, the balance showed up in my account for several days, then just suddenly disappeared. My account would not use the card when I tried to redeem it. What the heck happened? I can't get any response from Apple iTunes support on this. Very disappointing.

I need to check my iTunes Gift Card Balance. Help!
I bought a few gift cards from Staples during a sale, and want to gift them to my friends. Each card is supposed to have 25$ on it.
My question is this- I need to make sure that the balance is on the card before gifting it. So that I'm not embarrassed later on.
I browsed for answers and came across 2 popular answers.
1. Go to iTunes and click redeem..etc etc.
But in doing so won't I end up adding the balance to my account? The gift card will no longer be valid. right?
2. Call 888-320-3301.
I called the number. It's an automated system asking me to put in my 16 digit code. Now my 16 digit code is alphanumeric. something like XZN34...etc.
So HOW do I put in my code?? HELP!An iTunes card isn't like other gift cards where there's a balance that is embedded on the card at the time of purchase. It's a fixed amount built into the card (actually it's embedded in the redemption code) that gets added to a user's iTunes Store account when the card is redeemed. Unless the card was previously redeemed, something which it is impossible to check without actually redeeming the card, which can be done only once, there's no way to confirm the balance, but I've never run into a situation where the amount wasn't the amount printed on the card. Only if Staples didn't activate the cards would there be any possibility of a problem, barring a very unusual circumstance.
I think you can give the cards without fear.

ITunes gift card money is gone?
So, I attempted making an iTunes account without a credit card, but it did not set up. When I tried redeeming a card, it was rejected and I attempted the process again. I found out how to make an account without the credit card and redeemed a $10.00 card on that account. It redeemed, however, at the very end it said that the card had already been used. I was awarded the itunes cash, but when I try to buy something, it says I have insufficiant funds.

If the purchase is not covered by the funds in the store credit the system will need another payment method to cover the additional costs before you can proceed with the sale.

ITunes gift card balance disappeared!
Hi.
I got an iTunes card on Christmas which had $25 on it. My balance dropped to about $12-14 after purchasing some things in an app and buying some music. This drop was intended.
I got on my card last night and for some reason it all of the sudden has 57 or so cents on it. I never purchased anything more when the balance was at $12-14.
Why is it doing this? How can I get refunded? What spent that money?We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know the money has gone.
You haven't made any in-app purchases, or had any pre-orders or auto-renewing subscriptions that were due ? Have you checked the purchase history on your account : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
