ITunes not working anymore

Kia ora, I just downloaded a new version of itunes and quicktime. after this itunes no longer works it comes up with the following message:
iTunes requires Windows 2000 or later. Please make sure compatibility mode is disabled in the Compatabilty Tab of properties for iTunes.exe.
Firstly, I have Windows XP and secondly I could not find find itunes.exe. Any help would be very appreciated.

Hi, I use this feature a lot when working from home, as my company laptop is only 12.5" it's nice with the 27" screen. This has always worked out great, but recently (not sure if it started after Moutain Lion upgrade), I'm not anymore able to listen to my iTunes music (running in the background), when moving to "target display mode".
Immediately after pressing cmd+F2, and moving to external mode, the music starts skipping...
It happens with iTunes, Spotify, MPlayerX...
I tried to turn off "always put harddrives to sleep while possible" but this didn't help.
I tried to listen to music stored on different HDDs, didn't help.
Anyone found a fix, or need to wait for new OS update?

Hi, Hilary. The backlight in your Powerbook's display isn't working. That's most likely caused by an inverter failure, rather than a failure of the backlight itself (which is very rare). The inverter supplies power to the backlight, and sometimes it just fails. Repairing the hard drive won't fix it, and closing the display while loading pictures from a camera didn't cause it. It just failed, and now it needs to be replaced. Don't bother with any of the FireWire Target Disk Mode stuff you've been trying — just take the machine in for service.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

I have recently upgraded from my iphone 5 to a new phone. My iphone 5 's touch screen does not work anymore. I need to backup my phone, but I can't do it on itunes without my password. Everything besides screen is ok. Is there a way around it? :(

Everything besides the screen is completely fine-the screen will not recognize my finger anymore. I am not trying to fix the phone, but I need to have my contacts. The pictures have already synced, but I need my password to do a full backup. Unfortunately, I can't type in my password. Is there any way around it? If I take my phone to the apple store, will they be able to help me? I am not willing to replace the screen just to do this, however, so that is out of the question.

Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

Configuration: OSX Lion with Server, iTunes 10.5, latest firmware for the Stora.
Can this be confirmed to be a bug introduced with 10.5 ?
I also saw some people mentioning the same problem on Synology NAS.
Seems like the 10.5 uodate broke something.

Definitely seems to be a cross-platform bug in iTunes 10.5 concerning all NAS disks. Shared libraries on network drives worked fine under 10.4.1, but now there is just an endless loading cycle with no error message or time-out. There is a bit more about it in this thread.

Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

since a month my Itunes is not working anymore.
I don't know whats wrong with it but all of a sudden it's not working anymore. When I start it my computer sais: There is an fault in Itunes and it has to be closed.
I really hope u guys can help me.

I noticed this recently too. Either you see "No artwork available" or, if you select multiple items, the box says something like "Multiple items selected." But other times it says "Drag artwork here." I can't make sense of it.
Rest assured you can still drag/drop. There is no need to save the picture first. The trick is to drag/drop onto the artwork box in the Get Info window instead of the left corner of iTunes.

ITunes shuffle is not working anymore

If you don't have all of your content on a backup that you can copy onto your new computer and into its iTunes (File > Add To Library), then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases from the iPad to it via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases). For content from other sources (e.g. music that you copied form CDs) which you don't have on a backup, there are some third-party programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back from your iPad.

2.- I think I did not explain myself properly: The iPod is detected by both Windows and iTunes 10.5.3 64bit version.
The problem lies in that now after all the failures and the loss of my music (imagine I have to rip my entire CD collection again) whenever I try to sync my iTunes collection to my iPad (either on a single batch or album by album) a -50 o -69 error appears.
UPDATE: Now whenever I connect my iPod to the computer, it is recognized by Windows, but iTunes tells me that I have to restore it.
I cannot but commend Apple Inc. on his efforts to make a 9 months iPod unsuable. Sincerely this has brought me back to the worst of the 90s with MS.
UPDATE 2: Please let me add that with the previous iTunes version everything was ok. But, as soon as I installed the new Itunes (10.5.3 64bit) version the misery began. Unfortunately when I try to install the previous version I'm not allowed by the program and am referred to the newest buggy one.

Go to settings, iTunes & App Store, tap on your ID, sign out, then sign in with your new information. You cannot delete an old ID, you just stop using it.

My itunes wont work anymore on my latop, i uninstalled it and reinstalled it but when i try to get in to my itunes and error 7 message will pop up saying that it was installed incorrectly and ive installed it several times to find the same thing happening. I got an upgrade iTunes request from Apple. And upgraded. I should never have done that. Now it says that "iTunes is not properly installed". Other strange messages are also coming up, like missing .dll files etc.
I have deleted all Apple programs. Used Revo Uninstall that also deletes registry files and left over files. I have used ByeiTunes and Registry mechanic. I have used everything that is suggested on this site:

After doing all this, I got the same error message. So what wrong with Apple? When you have bought the product, you are left out in the dark. I have given up. Synchronizing the calendar with Outlook I can do manually, pictures that I have downloaded to my phone, I can access directly, and pictures taken by the phone I have to send to myself through e-mail. Music I never download using iTunes.
I have had enough. After this and after Apple has changed the plug that leaves me with 8 useless chargers and stands, there will be Samsung next time. I'm running Windows 7, 64 bits.

I had an old iPod Classic (60 KB) as a gift but it went dead, I dropped it a few times accidentally, and it sat carefully saved until I had sufficient resources, energy and time to get the matter addressed. In my case, I actually took the thing (after making sure it was charged) to an Apple store and one of the geniuses at the genius bar at the back of the store took it and did a few things (unseen and un-noted) with his fingers and handed it to me with a sly smile. Voila, the thing was functional. I got a re-functionalized iTunes account and store access when I bought my iMac. I did lose a few tunes along the way because it didn't recognize my new iMac as the source (my old dead PC laptop), but I have a more functional memory than the iPod and recovered them all in other ways. The whole thing is humming better than ever. At over 11 gb full, I have 4.2 days worth of portable listening. Be patient; it took me four years to get musical nirvana in a pocket, but you'll get there faster. Call support.

I tryed for 3 times than I put him in recovery mode and hw gave me this error:

Hey rmacbeth, I'm sorry to hear about your iPad troubles. It seems like with every major iOS release, these issues come up on older models (the iPad 3 is relatively new though...weird)
Anyways, it sounds like you've tried everything already and nothing seems to be working. If you're sure that it's a software issue with iOS and has nothing to do with your physical home button, I'd recommend restoring your iPad to factory settings by doing the following:
1. Make a backup of your iPad (just connect it and select the backup option in iTunes)
2. Next, select factory restore. It'll ask you to back up your iPad here if you haven't already.
3. Try quickly setting it up as a new iPad.
4. Try to duplicate the issue with the freezing, just use it for a day and see if it happens at all
5. If everything seeems to be working, restore again except this time, do it from the backup you made earlier
6. Try again to see if the issue comes up by using it normally in a day
7. If it does happen again, take it in to the Apple store to get it looked at as there may be some underlying software issue that a factory restore can't resolve

CHANGING APPLE ID/EDIT ACCOUNT INFORMATION/CHANGE ITUNES COUNTRY
Tap Settings / iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in. Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731?viewlocale=en_US
Go to settings/facetime and tap the ID there and log out and log in with new ID.
Go to settings/messages and turn off imessages wait 30 seconds and turn it back on, go to “receive messages at” tap on the ID there, sign out and sign in with new ID.
Go to settings/icloud and delete the account and when prompted select “keep information on your device” then turn it back on with the new ID.
To edit account information tap Settings / iTunes & App Stores / Apple ID: / View Apple ID
To change your iTunes Store country, sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you would like to use, tap Settings/iTunes & App Store/Apple ID/View Apple ID/Country/Region
