IW32 - RESBD-MATXT - modify the material/component description

Hi All!
I have a requirement: in tcode IW32 the user have to have the possibility to modify the description of the material/component (RESBD-MATXT). I modified the screen SAPLCOMK-3010 and SAPLCOMK-3020 in order that the field RESBD-MATXT is Input/Output but if I change the component/material description the system overwrites the modification I made with the content of the field MAKT-MAKTX.
This functionality exists in tcode VA02 but I don't know how to make the same functionality for the IW32 tcode.
Any idea would be helpful for me.

How to create a Purchase Requisition for a material component in WBS or NW?

I have created a project with the following structure:
Project Defination (Construction of Sub station)
      Main WBS
               Level 1 WBS
                         Level 2 WBS
                                   Network for level 2 WBS
                                                  Activity (Procuring Material)
                                                             Material Component - MATXXX (Stock Item)
Now in the above structure i have a activity where in i am procuring all the materails required to construct a Substation.
So under this activity i have assigned all the materials which are needed to build Substaion.
After i change the status of the project to release, there a reservation created for the quantity of the material which i have mentioned in the material component under the activity.
Now my querey is, how should i create a Purchase requisition for the reserved materail quantity in order to bring in the stock against the WBS / network / Project ?

Hi Sudarshan,
In your case you can run Me5J to check the list of PR created against your project.
Then Create PO and similarly you can check list of PO in Me2J.
Then followed by GR and check if any GR release exist in MIGO. Then once after doing GR you can check the Material in Stock which will move material from Unrestricted stock to Project Stock which you can check it in MMBE.
Then you can do the Good Issue in MIGO itself and run MIRO to complete the cycle.

G/L is not automatically assigned to material component

Hi All,
We use transaction CJ20N in creating a meterial component, non stock item category(N), G/L is not automatically populated. Could you please tell me how does the system in SAP automatically assign G/L account in the material component. I have checked the valuation class for the material group and a G/L is assigned there but it is not assigning in the material component.

yes i have checked the network profile and the g/l account is mandatory, therefore prompting the system for the g/l account to be assigned first
also, the g/l account is assigned to the valuation class

Restriction for Material Component deletion after PO creation in PS

I want to restrict the material component deletion from the Projects once the PO is created for it. I have done the required configuration settings in OPSG (Change Profile Order Change management) where the system must give an error for material component deletion once the PO is created for it. But still it is not working.
1) Why the configuration in OPSG is not working?
2) Is it required to use user exit CNEX0009 or CNEX0039?
3) Where can I locate uset exit CNEX0039 if required?
Can anyone help on this issue!!!!

Please check again the settings in OPSG.It is std functionality in SAP so i think it should work.

Material Component to Network - BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_ADD

has anyone come across this SAP problem?
I use BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_ADD to add a material to a Network.
It adds fine, and shows up in CJ20N.
However, if you go to the Plan/Actual Cost (CN41), there is no cost associated.
Okay. I used BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_CHANGE and it finally added the Cost to the Material Component.
HOWEVER, it doesn't have the Cost on Network/WBS element level.
Therefore, the plan/actual Cost for Project Definition is wrong.
Can anyone help?
If you add a material component manually in CJ20N and then change quantity, it works fine.
The thing is, CJ20N uses so many memory objects, it's hard to copy what it does.

after the transfer,
go to CJ20N and check the network control parameter, where the cost calculation parametrs are maintained.
1- cost to be calculated
2- cost to be calculated aftr release
3-donn plan cost
select the correct one
again check the costing variant and check the material valuation

Get material group description

I use V023 to get the material description, in se11, i can check those data dictionary, but i can't join V023 in ABAP, it shown the error message ""V023" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table, projection view, or database view.". How can i retrieve the material group description. Thanks!

Bapi assign PO to material component

Hello
I am migrating some material components to a new project structure.
I have created the new material components and the new PO (based on the old ones) but i do not know now how to link the material component to the PO.Is there any BAPI that does this?
Do i have to first create a purchase requisition for this material component or how can i link the mat component to the PO.
I have used bapi's for creating material components and PO,so i would need also some bapi that could do something like that.
Is there any bapi for changing material component ?

before creating material components,we have to set the purchase requisition flag to "immediately" so that a purchase requisition is created immediately after material component creation.
Afterwards i have read the newly created PR's and gave them as parameter to the bapi for PO creation

Language specific replication of material group description not working SRM

Hi All,
We have backend R/3 MM system from which we replicate our materials,material groups. For Italian language the replication of the material groups description is not working. Though the description is available in backend R/3 system when i run the DNL_CUST_PROD1object in R3AS tcode, there is no replication log in SMQ2 but still the Italian language is not replicated into SRM.
There are no logs in SMW01 tcode also.
Please suggest.

Hi,
As david explained,you need to set the filter for the LANGUAGE field in trascn R3AC3 before replicating the product categories.
In R3AC3 select DNL_CUST_PROD1. Go to table structures tab . Click on the filter next to T023T table. This will take you to the filter tab. Select source site name and filter options. In the field put "SPRAS", in op put "EQ" and in low value the value 'IT"(for italian) . You can also describe a range here instead of individual material group numbers.

Material component in created status

Hi,
The n/w is released also activity is released but the material component assigned are still in created status. PR,PO and GR for the material done but GI not allowed because of this status movement allowed is untick.
Please suggest.

the material component status in cj20n is created not released where as the activty is released. Procurement for the material is allowed but since the material is in system status created movement allowed is untick and hence GI not allowed.

Material component Overview

Hi,
1) In the material component overview, there is a column called "Quantity Received". But no value is getting updated in this column when I am receiving materials. What can be the reason for this?
2) In the same report, "Shortfall Qty" column is also available. Is it the difference between the Requirement Qty and the Received Qty? If not, what is it?
3) What is the meaning of "Pegged Requirement"?

The second and the third questions are solved. My Shortfall qty column is displaying the correct values.
But the "Quantity Received" column is not at all displaying any values. I will explain to you my whole scenario.
Scenario:
In our project, we are using Internal activities for creating reservations of materials. So, no "GR qty" is being shown in the activity detail screen as in the case of External activity.
A WBS BOM is created for the whole project which consists of all the materials required. MRP is run on the WBS BOM and the procurement is done. When I check the "CN52N" after doing GR, the "GR Qty" column is not getting updated. The materials are both L and N.

while creating service master
in ac03
beside of service category one check box is there short text change allowed
you can tick that box
you can change service master text in work order(service purchase order)
you can do one this using material group you can purchase material
use material group in work order

Modify the standard segment value

Hi Experts,
I have a piece of code to modify the standard idoc segment value.
        wa_idoc_data_mon-segnam = c_segale_e1edl24.
        wa_in_e1edl24 = idoc_data-sdata.
        wa_in_e1edl24-matnr = wa_in_e1edl24-matnr+11(7).
        wa_idoc_data_mon-sdata = wa_in_e1edl24.
       MODIFY idoc_data FROM wa_idoc_data_mon INDEX g_indx.
This modify statement works but it will change the normal structure of idoc type as we have in WE30 and put the status in RED.
If i use transporting sdata then it will not modify the material to last 7 char.

Hi,
It's not advisable to modify the standard tables through program. If you want you can do using MODIFY.
MODIFY database_table FROM TABLE itab.

Production Order - Modify field Material Provision Indicator for component in the production order

Good afternoon,
I have a component in the bill of material, that has the option Material Provision Indicator activated.
When i create the production order, the component automaticaly is activated with the Material Provision Indicator option.
However, in the production order, this field isn't possible to modify, because is closed.
Anybody knows way the modify this field? Configure to open?

Hello Amar,
I am also getting the same error while Releasing Production Order and Costing (CO11N). This error is related to EHP7 in our case.
Please try one of the following solution and see whether the error is gone or not.
1. Implement the SAP Note 1317551 - Error AD_SUBCON 141 / 143 / 144 (T417)
OR
2. Complete the customizing of Material Provision Indicator (T Code OICO) as per the attachment.

SAP Script : to display the material description in two lines

I'm working on scripts.
the material description field is been passed from my driver program ..into the script..
Ex: &gs_final-maktx& ..
There r a number of other fields to be displayed ...after this field ....
Is there any option to split the 'Material description into two lines'?
Ex: at present it is :

Requirement is:

I mean that there a number of field berfore and after this field......in the same line
I need to jst split the materia description ...& make it to appear in two lines.....!!
